The Dolphins were driving. They were ins.ide the Buffalo Bills 35 yard line. Chad Henne had driven them from deep in his own territory, which meant he was hot on a day he was otherwise not too good.
And on second-and-10 Dan Henning pulled Henne and ran a Wildcat play.
It gained not one yard.
Second and 10 went to third and 10. And that ended in an incomplete pass. And Miami went for a game-tying field goal inside of two minutes to play. It is the story of this season, folks.
Except Dan Carpenter missed it like he missed his other three kicks this day.
So Dolphins played for a tie and lost, 17-14.
At home.
The Buffalo Bills.
Playoffs?
Don't talk playoffs to me. There will be no playoffs.

Henning has got to go. Sparano could be a good coach, but he has yet to prove himself without Parcells. He's too dogmatic and it rubs off on the way Henne throws the ball and Henning runs the offense.

#1 Make Nolan the HC Ross because if not he will will definitely be a HC some where else!
Posted by: morphin | December 19, 2010 at 04:19 PM
HENNE IS PLAYING W/CARE FOR HIS KNEE,HE NEEDS TO BE SHUT FOR THE SEASON ..HE'S NOT HIMSELF .HE GOT TO CARE FOR HIS FUTURE CONTRACT ,HE'S NOT GOING TO RE INJURE HIMSELF AGAIN FOR MR HC .
LOOK AT R.BROWN AND THE REST OF THE TEAM ,THEY PLAY VERY SMART NOT TO GET INJURED FOR THE COACHING STAFF ,THE YEAR IS WAS OVER 3 WEEKS AGO .

Ok mando who ge got with our 1RD pick? QB or another DE?
Posted by: el coach | December 19, 2010 at 04:20 PM
Sparano is in charge of the OC, DC, ST, everything. He deserves the brunt of the blame.
I don't see how he can remain.
Posted by: deytreder | December 19, 2010 at 04:20 PM
Firing Henning & keeping Sparano & Ireland is just silly at this point.
The next oc will simply follow Fist Pump's Neo-Wannstedtian boring crap.
Fire Ireland & Sparano, and Henning's gone too.
Hey ALoco:
I miss Gus Ferrote! sad but true.

I havent heard too many baggings on carpenter AB, in fact i salute the man for allowing miami to force their offense to do the scoring, it failed miserably but at least he tried!!!!

Vontae Davis is already tweeting! No Joke!
Posted by: standley23 | December 19, 2010 at 04:21 PM
The last set of plays sums up the OC's achievement and the offensive effort this season....unfortunately, Carpenter chose today to have his worse game, had he made two or three of four, we would have won. It's not on him though.....it was a collective effort.
Posted by: redsky | December 19, 2010 at 04:21 PM
Henne needs to be benched immediately. Henning, David Lee and Sparano need to be fired immediately.
Posted by: Chuck C | December 19, 2010 at 04:21 PM
How much do you suck Sparano? Let me count the ways; poor clock management, poor play calling, poor QB, poor, poor and poor....
Fire Ireland, Henning, Sparano, trade or give a way Henne, he is worthless. Let him go lick his fingers back in Michigan...he's nothing but a big dumb ridge runner.
Don't make us wait...DO IT NOW...

I don't think Shula would have taken all the fecessmeared calls from Henning. He would have called the plays. I don't know if Sparano has that kind of power or disposition.

Not yet? Lol!
Posted by: standley23 | December 19, 2010 at 04:24 PM
I will lose total respect in strapono if
Henne still QBS the team after another pick six or just TO
and
If henning is not out of a job after this week OR has no say in playcalling duties the rest of the season....
My guess is neither happens so Strapono can become the new target of DOLPHAN aggression!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | December 19, 2010 at 04:24 PM
Well,...well..
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 19, 2010 at 04:25 PM
I used to blame Henne, I really want to, but thre reality is Henning is just terrible. Any QB with a chance and the right teaching can make it happen, and they wildcat him. You never remove a QB with a hot hand! How do they learn or grow? Sporano and Henning are blowing it....
Posted by: KDizzle | December 19, 2010 at 04:25 PM
Q for those who seem to think it's only Henning's fault, not Sparano's:
WHY HASN'T SPARANO, who allegedly called plays at Dallas, overruled or modified Hennig's approach?
btw--the answer is two-part: (1) Henning's approach IS Sparano's approach & (2) Sparano would rather we suffer than offend Tuna's butthole race track crony, Hennig.
Posted by: The Seer | December 19, 2010 at 04:26 PM
Seasons over -- FIRE DAN HENNING NOW!!! This is no different than the firing of Bonamego. This offense has been PATHETIC for three straight weeks, and that wildcat call today should be the last bad (pathetic) play call that old fart ever makes for the Fins. FIRE HIM!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: newenglandfinfan | December 19, 2010 at 04:26 PM
It's on the OC & Ol Henne acually threw for more yds than Fitz. Hire Nolan as HC now or we will also lose the man that took the D from #22 last yr to #5 this yr.
Posted by: morphin | December 19, 2010 at 04:26 PM
You henne bashers are just clueless non football knowing morons. Is he marino? hell no, but with this patch line, fat dancing backs, slow wr's no tight end, he ain't too bad. throw a in OC that needs to go to sunny palms retirement home, and a HC that can't form a coherent sentence, let alone lead a team and this is what you get.
Posted by: shaggy | December 19, 2010 at 04:27 PM
Ok heres my call. Fire Sparano, fire Henning, fire Ireland. Promote Nolan to head coach and go from there. Draft a QB in the first round and find a GOOD OC. Im thinking Rich Rodgriguez for starters.
Posted by: Ty | December 19, 2010 at 04:28 PM
Henne has no chance with those playcalls, 3 out of 4 patterns are 5 yd outs! He'll some of those patterns are 1/2yd outs!
Posted by: standley23 | December 19, 2010 at 04:28 PM
I spend 300 bucks on direct tv for this crap. time to go back to cable. 12 years of direct tv for this??? JOKE

Posted by: PriceMaster | December 19, 2010 at 04:28 PM
Sean Smith almost won the game for us again.he is soooo gooood!i think he will be in the probowl again.
Posted by: jweamer | December 19, 2010 at 04:29 PM
... Let David Lee finish out as OC, and Kubiak will be there for the picking in a few weeks. Just PLEASE get rid of Gramps!! Let us loyal fans take solace in that @ least in this wasted season!!!
Posted by: newenglandfinfan | December 19, 2010 at 04:29 PM
OK - We have found our solid backup QB in Henne. Now we need to lose the final 2 games to move up in the draft and draft a #1 QB.
Scan the RB backups to find the R&R replacement. The next michael Turner is out there.
Henning needs to be fired - man is he terrible calling plays.
Posted by: marcus | December 19, 2010 at 04:29 PM
Don't forget to mention, the defense made a stop, and the fins got the ball back, when Chad Henne gave his game-sealing 3rd FUMBLE IN 2 GAMES!!!
(Otherwise though, Henne wasn't nearly as bad as he's looked the past 2 weeks.)
Posted by: Liam from NY | December 19, 2010 at 04:29 PM
I hope they lose out (not really much of a challenge for these boys) so that they can get a decent position in the draft - I don't know how they do it, but we need an NFL caliber QB.
Posted by: LipsinToronto | December 19, 2010 at 04:29 PM
i though henne learned from captian checkdown management himself in penny , and he still continues to burn up any hope with inconsistancy and just straight up wtf throws in games, sorry the henne bandwagon is burning up in flames and its about to Implode!!!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | December 19, 2010 at 04:30 PM
I'm sorry, but Sparano is not the long-term answer for the Fins!
He refuses to fire his OC friend and refuses to confront the real issue - boring play calling.
and Henne, I could call TO on 3rd and 1, when you know we're going to run the F@#@ ball and you're trying to avoid for the other team to have time to review the last play!!!???? why? and how come you didn't throw th ball deep when you knew there was 6 seconds left and had no chance of reaching the FG area with a short pass? why?
Those are the type of knuckle head calls Henne made all season long. Didn't this kid play football at a younger age? I mean, where's your football intelligence?
Posted by: dfins006 | December 19, 2010 at 04:30 PM
Henning is like Marty Schottenheimer a QB KILLER!!!
Posted by: morphin | December 19, 2010 at 04:30 PM
I have to say Sparano went to the Wishing Well once too many, relying on the kicker every sunday to win one. Henne plays like s#it today,at least he's being consistent on his playing which is inconsistent s#it playing!!
Posted by: Wang Chung | December 19, 2010 at 04:31 PM
stop blaming ireland he makes good moves. look at all the people hes brought in. some didnt work but atleast he tried. how many old dolphin gms would have got brandon and dansby. none
Posted by: fishfan85 | December 19, 2010 at 04:31 PM
I'm good with Nolan as HC....the man would certainly be on top of everything. I'd like to see that!

How could Henning pull Henne when they are driving???? To run the W cat?? Also the O line is on the ground almost every play..No wonder they can't run the ball ,this is Sparano's falt he is the o-line guy!!!!
Posted by: Jriese | December 19, 2010 at 04:33 PM
direct tv is worth 300 bucks.where else would i see sean smith the best defensive back ever in the nfl.next year he will probably have like fifteen interceptions and go to the probowl for the third year in a row now!

Posted by: Ty | December 19, 2010 at 04:34 PM
Not mad at y'all, cause we're all "rowing in the same direction" now, but one last time:
SPARANO will not overrule or modify Henning because Henning IS Sparano and Sparano IS Henning. Plus, Tony cares more about Tuna's butt buddy than us, and will not offend Tuna by taking on Henning.
And if he does so now, don't fall for it---it's TOO LATE---he'll only do it to save his own ass.
