The Dolphins have beaten the New York Jets, 10-6 and so their slim playoff hopes continue to be, well, slim.
But one must admit slim is better than none.
The defense obviously kept the Jets out of the end zone and limited them to 286 total yards.
The offense?
Well, the defense played great. Mike Nolan's crew played hard and well. Yes, they dropped a couple of interceptions but those are excused when you don't give up a TD.
Discuss ...

Hell Yeah!!
Game ball to Cam Wake!!!

Maybe I should switch to CW91 EXPRESS.
Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | December 12, 2010 at 07:26 PM
well, even if the dolphins had lost out, they still wouldn't draft high enough to get luck or mallet. so, they might as well win out.
Posted by: austin | December 12, 2010 at 07:26 PM
I'll take any win against the stinkin' J-E-T-S, jets, jets, jets.

Posted by: el abuelo raul | December 12, 2010 at 07:27 PM
Correction, we need a QB with balls. Henne is an excuse for a QB.
Posted by: FB | December 12, 2010 at 07:27 PM
Time to get rid of Henning and draft a qb. Lets give Chad 1 more year with a new oc
Posted by: Rabbi Mike | December 12, 2010 at 07:28 PM
Was Henne really as bad as the stats show, or did the receivers drop a bunch?
Posted by: Oafius | December 12, 2010 at 07:28 PM
TourtuedDolphan.....That is only the 2nd in many consecutive losses leading to your being at home with us for the playoffs....its another late season collapse for the j e t s
Posted by: Kris | December 12, 2010 at 07:28 PM
He has great wingspan, Sean Smith does.
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 12, 2010 at 07:28 PM
Nolan for Prez (or at least HC)!
Cam Wake for Scety of Defense!!!!!
Posted by: The Seer | December 12, 2010 at 07:29 PM
Mando, what possible good would going to the playoffs be? So we can get embarrassed in the first round? Seriously Mando...stop talking playoffs because even if we backed in, we'd get stomped...we're no legitimate playoff team.
Posted by: Mike in Houston | December 12, 2010 at 07:29 PM
The officiating sucked.
Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | December 12, 2010 at 07:29 PM
WAKE IS A BEAST, Defense is steller, and the WHOLE OFFENSE JUST FLAT OUT SUCKS!!!nothing new, nothing changed, Same old story, but at least tortured can take a hike for another week!!!!!

I am NOT giving up until we are mathematically eliminated.
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 12, 2010 at 07:31 PM
Mando,
It wasn't a borefest, it was the drama of athletic competition at the highest level.
Posted by: nwflphinsfan | December 12, 2010 at 07:31 PM
For those of us in SoFla who listen to sportstalk radio:
best part of beating jets.....hearing Dre not call every show!
Posted by: The Seer | December 12, 2010 at 07:32 PM
jt needs 7 more sacks to get that 750,000 dont think hell get it seems like the jets are dumping him
Posted by: phil76 | December 12, 2010 at 07:32 PM
We were mathmatically eliminated since we lost to the Pats the first time
Posted by: Marc | December 12, 2010 at 07:32 PM
Mando,
I seem to remember what Smith was a rookie all the acolades of the great catches he was making in camp.
What happened to his hands?? or is it just his confidence.
and glad a play finally went AGAINST Santonio when we dropped that pass :-) but that was a great route he ran... whew
Posted by: daganj | December 12, 2010 at 07:33 PM
Whoopdie doo, Henning is still a moron, ronnie brown sucks, marshall is over paid, and sean smith needs glasses. When your co player of the game is a punter it speaks volumes. Wake is a beast.
Posted by: shaggy | December 12, 2010 at 07:33 PM
I have been watching this team for 44 years. I am a patient person. My patience with Chad Henne has run out. We will never be a relevant team with a chance at a Super Bowl with him at QB. He is mediocre.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Posted by: Gus | December 12, 2010 at 07:34 PM
Kris, Correct my friend on the Jets late season collapse... Again...LOL, But I must say the phins with a 144 yards total offense and Chad(Neck fat)Henne with only 54 yards passing... When will the nightmare(Offense) End??????
Posted by: Cuban Menace | December 12, 2010 at 07:34 PM
I've decided watching re-runs of "keeping up with the kardashians" and "the Hills" with my gf isnt as excruciating as watching Dolphins Offense this season....
Posted by: fan | December 12, 2010 at 07:35 PM
ALoco your an idiot. Henne was terrible.
Posted by: Eric | December 12, 2010 at 07:35 PM
Marc, are you for us or against us. Define yourself.
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 12, 2010 at 07:35 PM
Best game in NFL history, then again, I'm a HUUUGE fan of the punt!
Posted by: nhad | December 12, 2010 at 07:35 PM
No matter what happens the rest of the season, this is what we live for as Dolphin fans-beat the jets-hell yeah!
Posted by: fansince72 | December 12, 2010 at 07:35 PM
Wow, I have always been a win is a win kinda person but after that win I feel like we lost. Kudos to the D and even more specifically Cam Wake. Dude is a flat out beast!
Henne, holy crap dude. You are the worst QB to ever start this many games for Miami. He is soooo bad. He is REGRESSING! I don't know what to think of how he bad he is. No one ever ask me why I am so critical of Henne. The Jets D is not shut down this year like last year. What gives bro? Please do us all a favor and resign or something.
Posted by: Andy NJ | December 12, 2010 at 07:37 PM
Seems to be a lot of people here critizicing the players. Ahh, we won.
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 12, 2010 at 07:37 PM
great win. celebrate. others need to find out what to do with the offense. i can imagine that a QB can suffer under a poor offensive concept. its safe to say that henne is suffering.
a win is a win, especially over the jets.
Posted by: Dolfan abroad | December 12, 2010 at 07:38 PM
offense is in for a clean sweep.
Ronnie and Ricky contracts are up
Henne is either dilfer-lite or broken
Henning is toast
Prob stuck with Marshall who cant separate and tunes out
Leaves 1 playmaker - Bess
Hopefully new management will call the shots to rebuild... meanwhile let Henne play (Thigpen isnt much better) and maybe we can trade Henne in offseason

Oscar, Marc/Marcia is a well known cross dresser/Hermaphrodite, He cant decide what he/she is.....
Posted by: Cuban Menace | December 12, 2010 at 07:39 PM
That was hardly a victory, and ultimately will not matter. That was one of the most pathetic displays of offense I've ever seen!
Guess V Carey is more important than I thought.
Of course I'm FOR the fins, but, I call it like I see it, and frankly, THIS TEAM BLOWS!
Posted by: Marc | December 12, 2010 at 07:39 PM
It cannot always be 33-14, babies.
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 12, 2010 at 07:39 PM
IM SURE AGAIN MOST MISSED IT. BUT IT WAS ON FULL DISPLAY 75% OF HENNE'S "YOUNG" QB PROBLEMS ARE ON HENNING. I SAY THIS BECAUSE HENNING HAS ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO USE A YOUNG QB.
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 12, 2010 at 07:40 PM
If we qualify for the playoffs, I think we should pass and let another team play in our place. Henne is a complete embarrassment. Henning is even worse. I am retiring my Dolphins hat until we play another QB and someone else calls the plays.
That is, unless ... unless ... Sparano gives Thiggy a chance and lets Penny call the plays. At least, one is mobile and the other has a brain that still works. Then if we qualify for the playoffs, we would deserve a seat at the table.
Posted by: MassanuttenRef | December 12, 2010 at 07:40 PM

Posted by: oscar canosa | December 12, 2010 at 07:40 PM
I'll take an ugly win over the stinkin' Jets any day. Go Dolphins!
But seriously, the Dolphins need a new starting QB because Chad Henne looks and plays like a deer caught in headlights.

i agree, i think we may need to start punting on 3rd down when the league catches on....

I am not Cuban at all, Marc. I am an American citizen.
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 12, 2010 at 07:42 PM
All I want for christmas is a new Miami Dolphins quarterback! Please Parcell, get rid of Henne and find someone with consistency!
Posted by: rw | December 12, 2010 at 07:42 PM
LOL @ nhad ... "fan of the punt" ... best line of the day so far.
