The Dolphins have beaten the New York Jets, 10-6 and so their slim playoff hopes continue to be, well, slim.
But one must admit slim is better than none.
The defense obviously kept the Jets out of the end zone and limited them to 286 total yards.
The offense?
Well, the defense played great. Mike Nolan's crew played hard and well. Yes, they dropped a couple of interceptions but those are excused when you don't give up a TD.

Oscar C,
Dude the criticism is well deserved. Henne sucks! Ronnie Brown sucks! Sparano sucks! Dan Henning sucks!
Posted by: Andy NJ | December 12, 2010 at 07:42 PM
its almost as if henning wants henne to fail. play calling keeps him off balance, out of sync and passing in tough situations. henning hates henne because he shines a light on how crappy the OC is
Posted by: spillmar | December 12, 2010 at 07:42 PM
Our D finally showed it can not only play well but dominate and win a game for us. Any win in NY is a good one. Henne threw the only TD in the game. The O line played poorly and needs to step it up if we have any chance of winning the next game.
Posted by: GAfin | December 12, 2010 at 07:42 PM
Of course I'm FOR the fins, but, I call it like I see it, and frankly, THIS TEAM BLOWS!

Posted by: Cuban Menace | December 12, 2010 at 07:42 PM
JETS LOST!
DOLPHINS D DOMINATED.
And yet Chad Henne is the worst QB ever to wear a Dolphins uniform. Even Beck was mercifully given the hook quicker.
Bills won't rollovwe nwxt week, boys. The Phins better hire an offense this week, or you can put the last bullet in this season.
Posted by: Angry Elf | December 12, 2010 at 07:42 PM
IM SURE AGAIN MOST MISSED IT. BUT IT WAS ON FULL DISPLAY 75% OF HENNE'S "YOUNG" QB PROBLEMS ARE ON HENNING. I SAY THIS BECAUSE HENNING HAS ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO USE A YOUNG QB.

when the punter is game mvp is not good
Posted by: spillmar | December 12, 2010 at 07:43 PM
ERIC, I AM NOT AN IDIOT...EVERY QB HAS BAD DAYS .
THE SEA HAWKS THEY LOST TODAY ...6-7 RECORD
SKINS...............................THEY LOST ,, 5-8 RECORD
OAKLAND,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,THEY LOST,,, 6-7 RECORD
WE WON AND OUR RECORD ........ 7-6 RECORD BETTER THAN ALL OF THEM...HENNE IS FINE AT 600,000
SANCHEZ THE QB IN HISTORY W/RATTING OF 69 WITH RECORD OF 9-4

Someone needs to investigate the idiot that tripped one of the dolphins on the sideline during a punt. I don't hear any analysts talking about that!
Posted by: rw | December 12, 2010 at 07:44 PM
But for heaven's sake, DyingBreed, Henne shows NO passion ... he shows nothing even closely resembling talent. I have REALLY fallen off the Henne wagon as of this week ... I wasn't riding too tightly before, but I have completely let go at this point.

Posted by: ALoco | December 12, 2010 at 07:45 PM
That was horrible. Not even excited, and won't matter cause our season has been over for 2 months...

Posted by: Marc | December 12, 2010 at 07:45 PM
CARPENTER IS NOT GAME MVP, WAKE IS. wAKE HAD 5 TACKLES 2 SACKS AND A FF. THAT'S DOMINANT FROM THE OLB POSITION. WAKE WAS A FORCE IN BOTHJ THE RUN/PASS GAME AND MAJOR REASON WHY WE WON TODAY.

I am withholding judgement on henne until he gets a non injured non high school team line and somer recievers. Also some running backs that don't play dance dance revolution all the time.
Posted by: shaggy | December 12, 2010 at 07:47 PM
That was the best punting performance that I have ever seen.

Nice win, the real question is who sucks more, Henne or Henning? Hopefully both these guys are living out of state this time next year.

Defense clicking and can win you a gáme. Our offense....diff story.
Posted by: thebigcheddar | December 12, 2010 at 07:49 PM
ZAPHOD,
AND HENNING DOESNT HELP. HE CONTINUALLY PUTS HIM IN DIFFICULT SITUATIONS. EVERYTIME WE'RE IN OR APPROACHING REDZONE TERRITORY ITS 2 SHORT RUNS 1ST AND 2ND DOWN, 3RD AND LONG FOR HENNE, THEN BRING OUT CARPENTER.
YOU GUYS HAVENT NOTICED THE YEARLONG PATTERN YET?
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 12, 2010 at 07:49 PM
HOW WE CAN PUT ALL PRESSURE ON A YOUNG QB AS HENNE AT 600,000.
LATES PUT SOME PRESSURE ON THESE PLAYERS ALSO,
MARSHALL
FASANO
BESS
CROWDER
P.S......SANCHEZ ALSO PLAYED WORST AT 15 MILLION A YEAR W/RATTING OF .................. 69
Posted by: ALoco | December 12, 2010 at 07:49 PM
Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but the outcome would be different had Holmes made that easy catch in the end zone.

We won? More like, we didn't lose.
But the arrogant, over-rated Jets crapped themselves on national TV.
For this I am grateful.

anyone remember cryin' ryan promising they'd sweep the phins this year? i've given up on playoffs, but i'm thrilled at proving his fat arse wrong.
Posted by: stevemuhkween | December 12, 2010 at 07:53 PM
You can SEE Sparano's disgust as Zippy fumbled in the RZ. Might as well play Thigpen or Ronnie Brown at QB. The coached KNOW this guy's die is cast as a back-up. Heck, they'd probably take Tebow for Henne and R.Brown. Both, history or 2nd string after this season.
Posted by: Henne's Useless | December 12, 2010 at 07:53 PM
Zaphod, your wrong! He can make every throw but when the staff has u petrified of making a mistake ad in a bad system, u don't succeed! U start pressing--it even happened to Payton..
Posted by: robbyhernz | December 12, 2010 at 07:53 PM
Henne looks like garbagio I used to like his game in college but his inconsistency in the NFL will take him a few years to get over. He has the tools like Henning says he just doesn't have the swagger yet. He sits in the pocket tentative and takes way too long to make decisions. The Dolphins really should consider trading their picks away to draft Cam Newton. He will be a stud in the NFL. People think he isn't NFL ready but i would disagree the guy has all the physical attributes in order to dominate if he is as good as Freeman that'd be an improvement
Posted by: beerphin | December 12, 2010 at 07:53 PM
Henne is a HORRIBLE! We all agree. Anyone who is defending him better wake up man. This dude stinks. He is so indecisive. He is he is he is........
F it!

The truth of the situation is this: Sean Smith DEFINITELY needs to hang onto some of those int opportunities but he is ALSO playing tremendous ball the past few weeks.
Those of you who think the drops translate as bad overall play are either blind or nuts, quite frankly.
Posted by: jim | December 12, 2010 at 07:54 PM
R&R: Why don't our secondary spray on that sticky stuff that receivers used? Somebody needs to teach them the fundamentals of catching a ball.
Posted by: LAPhinsPhan | December 12, 2010 at 07:54 PM
Henne is a dead man walking as a starter in the NFL. What a sad sack.
Posted by: Chris | December 12, 2010 at 07:55 PM
Henne is playing with no confidence. Can u blame him when receivers and play calling blows
Posted by: michael lash | December 12, 2010 at 07:55 PM
Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but the outcome would be different had Holmes made that easy catch in the end zone.
Um LA, what about the four picks sean smith dropped, i could say the same thing
Posted by: shaggy | December 12, 2010 at 07:55 PM
Time for Henne to give up his day job--we need a new QB and OC!!!!
Posted by: george | December 12, 2010 at 07:56 PM
I read the blog daily but I don't usually post anything today I'm so happy to beat the jets that i want to share it with all dolphans. Great win ugly but its a win. Congratulations to all the fans that like to celebrate despite an ugly win. Great effort by the Defense. Salud from Mexico City!!!!

The Fins defense is one of the best in the league.
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 12, 2010 at 07:56 PM
THE JETS ARE HAVING A FOOLOW UP METTING AFTER THE GAME TO TALK ABOUT;;;;;;
1- SANCHEZ MELT DOWN
2- JASON TAYLOR LACK OF ENERGY
3- EDWARD AND HOLMES DROPPED BALLS
Posted by: ALoco | December 12, 2010 at 07:56 PM
DB,
You post a lot and you have good post but dude you can't possibly blame Henning for Chad Henne flat out sucks. Miami will continue on this path because I was hoping the Dolphins gave up on Sparano but they proved me wrong and with Miami winning today the will finish about 9-7 and hold onto Sparano which means they hold onto "Their guy" who unfortunately for us name is Chad Henne.
Posted by: Andy NJ | December 12, 2010 at 07:57 PM
It' official!
Everyone of you guys blaming ANYTHING on Henne today are complete clueless idiots.
He was sacked 3 times, hurried 4 times and knocked down 6 times BEFORE halftime.
Henning was totally exposed today. You ignorant a s s wipes can't whimper out any kind of defense for this over the hill loser.
Bad play calls and even worse play design.
No blocking. No separation by the receivers and ronnie Brown couldn't make up for his blunders in two seasons with Tom Brady.
You wanna be GM idiots think you can evaluate a QB in this Dan Henning nightmare of a sideshow? Ah Ha Ha Ha Ha!
This offensive and it's senile leader Dan Henning would make Dan Marino look like Ryan Leaf!
You tards that were sayibg it's all Henne-ROTFLMAO-there's a reason they call that stuff dope.
Get into rehab and learn something about football, you Buffoons!!!!
It's all Henne's fault-Ah ha ha ha!!!!
Posted by: odinseye | December 12, 2010 at 07:57 PM
I DON'T SEE MARSHALL BESS AND FASANO TRYING TO GET OPEN,ALL I SEE IS WHEN THE PAY CHECK COMES CALLING .
Posted by: ALoco | December 12, 2010 at 07:58 PM
I WOULD PAY GOOD MONEY TO SEE ALL YOUR FACES IF HENNE IS CUT, GOES TO A GOOD OFFENSIVE SYSTEM, AND MAKES PRO BOWL.
WHILE WE GET A BRAND NEW YOUNG QB AND HE ALSO STRUGGLES MIGHTILY IN THE SAME INEPT OFFENSIVE SYSTEM HERE. THEN YOU'LL FINALLY WAKE UP TO FIND OUR OFFENSIVE SYSTEM TOTALLY SUCKS.
IM NOT SAYING HENNE DOESNT HAVE GROWING PAINS AS ALL YOUNG QB'S HAVE. JUST SAYING OUR OFFENSIVE SYSTEM ISNT YOUNG QB FRIENDLY EITHER.
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 12, 2010 at 07:59 PM
This is are superbowl!Where the Jet fans i told ya we were gonna get the last laugh..Sean smith played great even if he drop 6 int's today!Brandon fields was awesome!
being conservative won us the game!i wish someone would have punch jason taylor in the nose..in the start he was acting like a jerk!than he disapeared in the second half like he did with us no plays in the clutch!jt learn from wake he plays to the end
Are defense is comming on now!It takes time to learn Nolan D!If we would hae jelled earlier we'd be in the playoff!Where the Jetfans at!!!!!!!!!!!!

what an awful game but screw the jets. they r done. play at pitt and at bears. sd will get the wildcard now, love it. sanchez and henne were terrible. just shows why this staff needs to go with the loss to browns at home and then win this on road. 8-8 is what this staff is.
Posted by: bill_cnnrs@yahoo.com | December 12, 2010 at 08:00 PM
The o-line couldn't block any rush. Henne was rushed all day. The play action fumble was on him but thats about it. The connditions were not ideal so this kind of game was expected. If Henne is awful like alot of people blindly suggest, at least the jets have the same problem. the Pats are the only team in the AFC east with a sure bet QB.
Someone should buy S. Smith a ball machine for xmas. he left 14 points on the board. If I were Sparano I would have spit on Rex Ryan and not shook his hand. That Jet coach better be fined or fired. There is NO place in the game for tripping a player. This attitude and approach is a result of the coach. What a disgrace.
