This one has the feel of a big game so let's give you the big-boy news first:
Lydon Murtha starts at right tackle for an inactive Vernon Carey. Pat McQuistan continues to start at right guard. Rookie John Jerry will back up both players.
As I tweeted earlier and posted in the comments section of the last post, it makes more sense to go with a more experienced tackle such as Murtha than to move Jerry, who has not been good enough to keep his guard job, to right tackle and start him there. You don't promote and move a player to a new spot for the blitzing, changing Jets defense.
Look for the Jets to match Jason Taylor versus Murtha a lot today.
The only other lineup change for Miami today is Davone Bess starts for Brian Hartline, who is now on injured reserve.
The inactives for today are Nate Ness, Ikaika Alama-Francis, Matt Kopa, Vernon Carey, Eric Chiaciuc, Mickey Shuler, Ryan Baker, and Chris Baker.
We are blogging live from the New Meadowlands Stadium. Gotta tell you for $1.6 billion, this place is nice. But not that nice. It is mostly, just big. But personality?
Not so much.
Meet me in the comments sections for the live blog. I think I smelled a New York Jets collapse being cooked up at the tailgate while I was coming into the stadium.

David is right...throw down feild and lossen the D...not this down tho

Posted by: zaphod | December 12, 2010 at 04:33 PM
How could the front office be SO BLIND in drafting this IDIOT QB??!! With 10 yds of open field, he slides SHORT of the first down.
Posted by: Angry Elf | December 12, 2010 at 04:33 PM
Whew.. We can go to our money play. The FG

Posted by: heepman | December 12, 2010 at 04:34 PM
See that run by Henne, he is playing for his job.......
And he knows it.
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 12, 2010 at 04:34 PM
Thank you Carpenter for making Sanchez pay ... no thanks to our incomepetent QB!!!!!!!!
Posted by: zaphod | December 12, 2010 at 04:34 PM
And Henne continues to suck!
Posted by: cocoajoe | December 12, 2010 at 04:34 PM

Posted by: waning phin fan in NY | December 12, 2010 at 04:34 PM

Posted by: DyingBreed | December 12, 2010 at 04:35 PM
who slides 5 yards short of the 1st down....who?????
and don't tell me he calculated the feild goal range on the fly
Posted by: Kris | December 12, 2010 at 04:35 PM
NICE,
I wish Henne could pass block.
Cut him now.
Nice design on the screen pass it didn't fool anyone but our o-line
Posted by: odinseye | December 12, 2010 at 04:35 PM
Heckuva stat...no completions yet in this eyesore of a game
Posted by: MIA in BFLO | December 12, 2010 at 04:35 PM
Whatever, henne got us into fg range without throwing a pick. Give him a break on that play
Posted by: sptaylor | December 12, 2010 at 04:35 PM
henne has no confidence or swagger. this guy needs to be cut.
Posted by: austin | December 12, 2010 at 04:36 PM
Somebody needs to smack Henne in the face and tell him his entire future and half the team, coaches, and staff depend on him being a man and throwing the damn ball to marshal-and others-forget the running backs as you always throw them short, impossible passes + and get a win!
Posted by: David | December 12, 2010 at 04:36 PM
What's the weather like in the dump called Jersey?
Posted by: beerndrums | December 12, 2010 at 04:36 PM
I'm hot a henne fan. He is sooo frusterating. But that simple scramble might be a big play in the end
Posted by: cayman finfan | December 12, 2010 at 04:36 PM
Believe me, he knows EXACTLY where he needs to be for a fg.
Posted by: sptaylor | December 12, 2010 at 04:36 PM
WOW! ANOTHER SHORT KICK OFF............
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 12, 2010 at 04:36 PM
Listening online, and Cefalo has been awful for ever. I wish the fins front office would hire a dynamic young voice to call our games, like the dude who calls games for the Houston Texans. He called games for the Hurricanes before the Texans.
Posted by: rand_the_fin | December 12, 2010 at 04:36 PM
At least my TV looks good...
Posted by: Marc | December 12, 2010 at 04:37 PM
henne can't even do the simple things like throw a ball out of bounds, or ground a screen pass that is blown up. get him out of there.
Posted by: austin | December 12, 2010 at 04:37 PM
take it easy on henne felles he is gonna come through today
Posted by: mr kahn | December 12, 2010 at 04:37 PM
CARPENTER'S A HEAD SCRATCHER FOR SURE. THE GUY CAN NAIL A 60YD FG BUT CANNOT KICK A TOUCHBACK TO SAVE HIS LIFE.
dO THE PARCELLIANS HAVE HIM SAVE HIS LEG STRENTH FOR FG's?
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 12, 2010 at 04:38 PM
Can we get a DB to hold a pick6.
Posted by: mperdomo | December 12, 2010 at 04:38 PM
Sparano with his arms up after a field goal...in the first quarter...what an idiot...He'll never learn.....
Posted by: Marc726 | December 12, 2010 at 04:38 PM
Well, it's early fans but early results are in: Henne sucks and he always will suck.
Posted by: cocoajoe | December 12, 2010 at 04:38 PM
Dan Fouts is in the booth. At least one competent QB is in the stadium.
