Marlon Moore watch continues on Armando and the Amigo

I predict at some point this week coach Tony Sparano will be asked what he expects to do with his receiver corps once Brandon Marshall is healthy and able to play again following treatment on his injured hamstring. And the coach will say something akin to "it's a good problem to have," in that he'll have to decide which receiver not to keep active on game day.

It's a number's issue with the receivers. The Dolphins typically keep four active on game day.

Last week, with Marshall out, Miami took Davone Bess, Brian Hartline, Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore to the game. So when Marshall is ready to return, who goes back to the inactive list?

Moore? He had a 57-yard TD catch in the game last week. He had as many TD catches in that one game as what Marshall had in 10 previous games.

Wallace? He's extremely physical. He's a core special teams player. And he had a 19-yard reception last week.

Like I mentioned above, "it's a good problem to have."

My guess is Moore might have to return to the inactive list. I will talk to him about this on my Armando and the Amigo radio show this morning on 640 Sports. If you miss the interview, I'll post the podcast of the hour when my producer gets that ready.

Moore simply has to find a way to help on special teams. He's fast enough to be a kick returner, but hasn't emerged in that role. He continues to be a project player. But he's got promise and talent.

He's also a communications major, so he should be a good interview.

Oh, almost forget: Do not suggest Marshall would be the odd man out. Although I've heard whispers that quarterback Chad Henne seemed more at ease without having to feed Marshall, the alpha receiver remains Miami's best receiver target.

Right?

ncfinfan,
16 in 11 games?u just made my point. How many times a game has brady checked down to woodhead or previuosly to faulk after the recievers clear the middle? And brees uses bush when healthy and rivers uses sproles. All get at least five or six cathches A GAME and help to move the chains.Yes Marion went down the field but remeber a guy name jim jensen too?marion took his shots when they were there, but knew you had to take what was given you and he did that better than anyone. His heroic two minute drives were never long plays down the field yet they were what worked.

R.BROWN IS THE DOLPHIN MAN OF THE YEAR .HIS HEARING FOR HIS DUI WAS DELAYED TODAY .

damn spelling,lol Marino

Brady checks down A LOT. but your point is geat. Henne should throw a few up for Grabs to Marshall like Brady did to Moss. I really think the problkem is, if he does and there is an INT, coaching is going to rip him a new bung hole. If Brady, Manning, Ryan, Rodgers, Hasslebeck do, (the list goes on ond on). their coaches will tell them to get em next time.

Big coaching discrepancy that Henne is playing under.

Marshall practicing today. Cam Newton has been found not guilty and can play this weekend.

We'll all get to find out how the offense melds with Marshall in it this week.

Anyone else wonder why the backs haven't been used (like at all) this year in the pass game? One of their strengths (actually, all the backs) is catching. Look at Cobbs, nice TD. But they haven't been utilized like I thought they should.

Especially if people are loading up the box and trying to stuff the run. Everyone knows Ricky/Ronnie are inside runners, so they shore up the middle and block them. In that case, why not get them outside, and throw them a pass in open field.

Another issue I have with Henning.

So I'm going to Vegas this weekend. Feel free to give me some lucky Roulette numbers, I'll take whatever winnings and put it on the Phins to cover against the Browns.
ALoco- You will enjoy this. I have a 13 course tasting meal set up at B & B restironte(thats how they spell it)on Friday night. This includes a white truffle course. I hope my girl is an adventurous eater. Check out the web site and the menu it's cool.

Dc, I don't remember Curtis martin or Stephen Davis being big receivers under the Henning offenses - could just be his thing.

D, your weekend sounds awesome. You want to switch? I'm going to Niagara falls. it's the best we got driving distance for this time of year, hahahaa.

Seems like 90% of the complaints about the offense here would be cured with a solid interior line. The reason they don't do more of all the things being suggested is simply because they don't have the talent to do it consistently. BTW, lets not read TOO much into the Oakland win. Let's be impressed when they play like that against a winning playoff caliber team. They still have only beat one winning team this year and that may have been because GB had a significant amount of starters out.

If it ever came down to deactivating either Marshall or Moore consider this:

"When's The Last Time A Nfl DC Game Planned For Marlon Moore?"

If Moore and Wallace continue to develop within thenext couple seasons a very important decision will need to made within the wr corp period. Barring a a major behavioral meltdown Marshall stays, Bess is an untouchable, and in this scenario Hartline could be potential trade bait.

But only if Marshall's behavior doesnt begin to completely unravel and spiral towards ill-repair.

Hartline could save his team status if ascending to pro bowl level. He cant allow Moore and Wallace to equal or surpass him in play.

henning uses the backs in the passing game but he does it all wrong. He has them motion to the outside and tries to get them singled up on a linebacker deep down the sidelines.Backs dont make over the shoulder catches very often yet this is what he asks them to do.They should be running a circle route out of the backfield, after helping to chip on a blitz and sitting down underneath for an outlet for henne. Then they can use their talented running ability to make plays.

DyingB - Not sure Hartline deserves all the doubt he has been getting. He is only in his second year and has been coming on very well the last several games. Cris Carter was a very mediocre receiver his first 5 years before he began to really excel. Maybe Moore or Wallace will surpass him, but for now I think he has been earning his stripes.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn! OH sorry you guys are still talking Dolphins football. I am already gearing up for the draft. The Dolphins aren't making the playoffs and unfortunatley probably finish around 10-6. That lands them the #20 draft pick. They will take that pick and trade outta the 1st round so they recoup the 2nd for Brandon Marshall. With the two second rounders they will draft -

Johnny Ploddings - Center, 6'5 310 lbs, Senior, (Senior Bowl co-captain) New Mexico State.

And.......

Thomas Blanks - WR, 6'3 220 lbs, Senior, (He is white and runs a 4.6 but has reliable hands and runs solid routes) University of Massachusetts.

deytreder,

LMAO! Really, dude? Now Hartline has the potential emerge like a Chris Carter? No, wait! I get it. I didn't see the rest of your post. Roberto Wallace is the next Vincent Jackson you meant. Oh, wait Marlon Moore might be next Keenan McCardell.

always, I would recommend you retake 3rd grade reading and comprehension. I said none of those things, and only implied you give a young player that is showing improvement time to develop rather than try to evaluate their full potential too soon.

Miami had to throw the ball to someone last week and the Raiders stink! Miami has a very good WR that didn't play in B. Marshall. Davone Bess is a good slot WR but that's all they have at the position. Hartline, Moore and Wallace will not make anyone miss. They won't break a game open or make a long run. They will however do a 9 route and run deep but any WR can do that. It doesn't mean they always get seperation or Henne will actually make the throw. This team needs to draft a WR in the first round to compliment Marshall. Always next year I get your point!

Laces Out Marino!

Simply The Bess
Will Surely Impress

hey mando, how about getting coach tony on your amiguito show.....or marshall?

Prove it!!!!!!!

marshall is a top 5 wr in the nfl. very sad that they cant even figure out how to get him the ball. hopefully next year we can get better and compete for a playoff spot. that is if they even play, im guessing the 2011 season wont happen, players and owners arent even close on an agreement

they say without fail every year.

Mark, like I said, another reason to dump Henning (I sound like a broken record).

rlevy, agreed! I see those passes they try to make (over the shoulder) to Ronnie, even Polite, hardly ever works (I think once in '08). STUPID! They should do just like you said (like Baltimore did with Ray Rice when we played them). THAT'S how you use a back out of the backfield.

Lemme change subjects, I'm getting Henning-rage again.

Armando
Do u also do the radio show in English?

Jared O`drick just reported to have broken 23 bones in hands, arms & torso in pillow fight at day care center

Is it true Sparano took over the play calling for the Dolphins and Hennning is watch reruns on monitor of Rocky & Bullwinkle in the booth

MNF going to be real good

The world is ending Sunday. Wonder if we can move the game up to Saturday.

Does Henne really worry about feeding the ball to Marshall during games? I just don't see it, especially in the Red Zone (where he continues to look for everyone BUT Brandon).

With the exception of the Jets game, Marshall has not been given the ball enough!

After being questioned if his pre season surgery could be an issue, Brandon Marshall said the timing and sync with his passer was not important. Today we know he was totally wrong.
Each passer has his tempo and his mechanics and each receiver has his best angle and best route. Putting both things in synchrony is a required element for pro-football. You can beat a bad defense without such tunning because they will give you a lot of room to adjust, but at the NFL level, a good secondary will give you raw windows to complete the pass.
Brandon needs to show some humility and commit to adjust to Henne.

Brandon Marshall will continue to sit out the rest of the season and drink his hot chocolate with marshmallows. Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore will display why they were brought here. Coach Sparano and Mr. Ireland will be surprised to still have a job. Trading Brandon Marshall for more draft picks will return the Dolphins back under sound foundation for years to come.

- 9-7

You have to remember that Moore had injuries when he got here, but averaged 39 yds a catch in college. Now that he is healthy, is there a receiver that averaged even 20 a catch on the roster? One that had a 57 yd catch last week besides Moore?
Now tell me how he goes back on inactive list.
He has to be available. He either takes someone's place on special teams so that he is on the roster, or he takes a WR spot.

If henne knew how to throw a fade marshall would have at least 5 td's by now. And when brandon is being trippled, why don't we move him around or go 4 or 5 wide? Marlon moore must be on the field with marshall. Very elementary. Go fins
and whip cleveland!

run some 5wide set & keep all 5 active..this coaching staff really needs 2go..bill cower please

I WOULD LEAVE MARSHALL OUT ANOTHER GAME AND SEE HOW THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN HENNE AND THE OTHER FOUR RECEIVERS DEVELOP. I INSIST THAT WE SHOULD TRADE MARSHALL FOR AT LEAST ONE SECOND ROUND DRAFT PICK AND THE REST OF THE BUNCH FOR ONE FIRST ROUND PICK OR AT LEAST ANOTHER SECOND ROUND DRAFT PICK. WE NEED ANOTHER YOUNG QB, ONE GOOD RB AND MAYBE ANOTHER FAST VERY FAST RECEIVER. WITH DOBBINS WE DON'T NEED A MLB. WE USE THE THIRD ROUND ON OL.

MANOTOLETE

If Bess or Hartline is open, do not try to force it to Marshall. I know he is a diva and wants every ball thrown to him, but team comes first. Throw the ball to the open receiver and if Marshall wants the ball, let him get open.

SEE MOMMA THE DOLFINS FINALLY GOT A WIN IN MIAMI !
