You have to love Brandon Marshall because, yes, he's a good receiver. But he gets it.
He understands when he's being tweaked. And he knows how to tweak the opponent.
And tweak the opponent is what Marshall has just done following Miami's 10-6 victory over the New York Jets.
"My goal this week was to make sure we took advantage of this oppotunity," Marshall said. "Big stage again and it was a divisional rivalry. The Patriots beat them last week and they took a ball and buried it. And we wanted to do the same. So hopefully they bury one our balls, too."
Ziiiiiing!
You'll remember Jets coach Rex Ryan took his team out to a hole in the back of their practice facility last week and buried the game ball from New York's 45-3 loss to New England. It was a symbol of how the team could put a terrible defeat behind them.
Well, this loss can't be too palatable for New York, either. They are officially on collapse watch. And coach Rex Ryan said he considered benching Mark Sanchez during this game.
Marshall did his part in helping Miami deliver a reason for New York to bury this result and the game ball from it. He scored the game's only touchdown on a 6 yard reception from Chad Henne.

Yes Home/ALoco, masterpiece. Sanchez is in a slump, did he have a chance to come out of it? He was pressured all day. Defense had turnovers, which led to scores, and didn't give up a TD. What do you call that? All ALoco ever blogs about is salaries (which never makes any sense), food or other senseless posts with no meaning, so who cares what he thinks.
But Home, what do you call 6 points in the NFL? This isn't college. That doesn't just HAPPEN. Granted, the Jets didn't help themselves, but how many chances were they even given? Their sterling run game got what, 80 yards. LT, a future HOF RB did nothing. Greene got hurt doing nothing. Keller/Braylon, the guys who usually beat us, did NOTHING. Not sure what game you guys were watching. I mean, Miami's offense didn't scare anyone, but did you really think the Jets were gonna score off anything but a Henne INT yesterday? I sure didn't. When I saw we kicked it back to them with 3 min, and they had the whole field to go, I was like, "we got this in the bag."
In case you numbwads haven't been paying attention, we have the #4 defense in the league, and it's getting BETTER every game.
I'm all about being a realist. I think our team overall is just mediocre. I think our offense is horrid and trash. But our defense is terrific. If you can't see that, then you're just hating for the sake of hating (and not basing it on any reality).

Has anyone noticed how many times the Dolphins have been jobed on either poor calls or the dreaded "after further review" plays? What about Henne being hit as he was sliding against the Ravens? A now we have to deal with what is is totally compareable with the Woody Hays incident when Pissa Boy for the Jets trips and damn near ends the career of Nolan? Hey Goodell....wake the F@@k up!!!

I have a man crush on DC Dolfan. Please leave him be Aloco.

Dear Mr. Salguero
I can't begin to tell how sorry I feel for Sal Alosi the strength and conditioning coach for the Jets.
He made a simple but terrible mistake of identity...who he thought was Channing Crowder (Roger Goodell has ruled its permissible to spit on or assault Channing Crowder) was in all actuality was Nolan Carroll.
Sad day for Sal Alosi fans through out the world.
Soiled :)

Very Good with extremely bad QB play by NY
Nuff said Kool Aid & cheese stained face lol

Read the article about the qbs and as I agree with the fact that Henne and Sanchez are not the answer for their perspective teams at this point in their career I have to strongly disagree on one point.
Floridians (Armando and the rest of you wimps who wear a coat when it's 60 degrees out) should never be speaking on how easy or difficult it is to play in cold rain or snow. Quite simply you have no clue what you're talking about. Throwing a football in snow is much easier than throwing a wet cold ball. A football in the snow is hard but dry. It is easy to grasp if your hands have been in a pouch warmer or you are wearing gloves. A wet ball, and I'm talking that ball yesterday was drenched, that is also cold and hard (high 40's isn't as warm as you think when the wind chill is 35) is very hard to grasp or throw.
There is no sense in elaborating, that's just the way it is and you would know this if you ever played football in the northeast. So once again, Mando, you're out of your element on this one.

NYScott, the reason there's no talking to these numbwads is they've NEVER played sports ANYWHERE at ANY LEVEL. They talk a great game because they don't know how to do ANYTHING else.
They talk about players being lousy as if they're TRYING to be bad. As if it's all in them just doing it to make it happen. Like being great, or even consistent isn't a very tough thing to do if you're not naturally extremely talented.
They don't understand that just to BE in the NFL, you have to be better than 90% of the population. Then, to excel in the NFL, you have to be the top 10% of the top 10%. It's not easy. Add to that we have a lot of youth on the team, learning how to be good. And on top of that injuries and coaching and all that. THEN add the weather in Dec., it's easier to blog about it in your cushy house or office than step out in the elements and make it happen.
You understand that, I do, a bunch of people here do. But some tools don't get it. They never played sports so don't know what it takes to excel. Just because you're great a Madden doesn't make you an athlete numbwads.

We leave 3-9 points every game on the field do to the fact that once we are in field goal range we dont run it. WE pass it get sacked, get a holding penalty or throw and interception. Losing momentum, points, and team moral. I think offensive play calling is our biggest problem at the moment. There is nothing run with running the ball even if the defense knows we are bought to run. Example, the 50 yrd touchdown run ricky williams had against Raiders, 3 times against the jets in 3 and shorts, jets had everyone at the line of scrimmage if you get passed the line, its off to the races.

seriously you are the worst fans in the NFL! all you do is piss and moan. We won the game, sloppy or not it was a win. Try to be happy for once instead of complaining about everything all the time. Show your d*ck some F-ing respect and act like a men, not cheap shotting little douches like the Jets coach that tripped Carrol.

Kyle Orton will be the Dolphins QB next year...
Why??
Simple, new coach in Denver, will need a 1 year experiment with Tim Tebow, making Orton expendable via trade for a 3rd or 4th rounder. Brandon Marshall did catch 100+ balls from orton his last year in Denver. I think Orton will thrive having a guy like Devon Bess as well.
1st Round, Dolphins will draft the best
break-way runner available in the draft.
Kyle Orton can get us to the playoffs, and we don't need to spend a 1st round pick to get him. Mike Nolan knows him as well from his time in Denver, so that is something I'm sure the front office is discussing with Nolan.
Thoughts???????

I don't think they should fire the Jets coach for one mental lapse. He said himself he wasn't thinking and would love to take it back. Haven't we all done something like that, then smacked our foreheads and said Duh!
Posted by: Rick | December 13, 2010 at 04:06 PM
Quit blaming Henne all the time for the offense struggle , the running backs have one or two runs over 25 yards all year, no wonder the recievers can't get open. Time to get some backs that has a chance to break one once in a while and at least be a threat and keep the defense honest!
Posted by: Mw32cc | December 13, 2010 at 04:15 PM
when matt ryan was drafted his first two minute rive showed he had ithe it factor.when we fall behind in a game and we have a chance to win with 2 minutes or less chad h is terrible.he just doesnt have it, he looks like someone who has never played.all the great quarterbacks marino elway montana manning brad farve they all scare the defense and always keep there teams chances alive. when you watch henne he looks disorientated hes horrible we have had 3 games where we could have won at the end or at least get into field goal position.you can tell with these young quarterbacks whos going to be good just by the last two minute drive and if you ever noticed which i know everyone has chad h sucks no pump faks nothing but an interception or 4 and out
Posted by: raymond | December 13, 2010 at 04:31 PM
you got that right he does not have the it factor. It makes you wonder if ever watches other great quarterback and study there play.I FOR ONE THOUGHT THIS WAS A GREAT DRAFT PICK FOR US.I KNOW HES STILL YOUNG BUT THE LAST TWO MINUTES OF THE GAME ARE A VITAL PART OF WINNING. HE JUST LOOKS STIFF AND HE DOES NOT EVER PUMP FAKE OR LOOK THE OTHER DIRECTION IT PRETTY SAD WHEN YOUR COACHES DOESNT POINT THESE THINGS OUT DURING THE WEEKS OR EVEN IN SPRING TRAINING.THE COACHES ARE AS GOOD AS THERE QUARTERBACKS I TRULY BELIEVE THIS
Posted by: AUDRERY | December 13, 2010 at 04:41 PM
Jess, orton is an excellent QB without targets. marshall, bess, hartline, fasano, moore and wallace would give him plenty to throw at.....when do we go kidnap him and bring him here, lol....he is the #4 rated QB in the NFL, with one of the lowest INTs.
Posted by: redsky | December 13, 2010 at 05:14 PM
Jess, you make a great point, I think it would be a good fit to pick up Orton if the opportunity is available, why draft a rookie QB when you can pick up a proven veteran who has already shown a good chemistry with one of our receivers.
Posted by: CaliPhinFan | December 14, 2010 at 01:14 AM
Marshall and all of his bad history will be cut and he will go bye-bye next year. We do not need grown men jumping like little girls bc of a touchdown. Sorry..Dolphins paid him way toooo much for two TD in a year..how many balls did HE MISS? we need to bury the football as well. That game was awful! Marshall....pack your bags and go else where for your next arrest!
