Ross skips out on postgame locker room -- again

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano or general manager Jeff Ireland or both have a problem -- and it has nothing to do with what you think.

It doesn't have to do with the fact quarterback Chad Henne is inconsistent and both are tied to Henne as the franchise QB. It has nothing to do with the fact no one in Miami's defensive backfield can be trusted to catch a potential interception delivered directly to the hands. It also has nothing to do with the fact the running game, around which the offense is supposed to be built, has been absent the entire season.

Those problem pale for Miami's top football men compared to this: Owner Stephen Ross is clearly not happy.

And Ross makes the final call on both Sparano's and Ireland's job status.

Ross was at Sunday's 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns at Sun Life Stadium. But when the Dolphins lost, he made himself scarce. Unlike other games in which Ross goes from his suite to the team's locker room, Ross skipped the trip on Sunday.

And it was at least the second home loss after which Ross skipped joining his team in the locker room after the game. He wasn't there after the shutout loss to Chicago Nov. 18. So that's two consecutive games after which Ross does not go see his team.

This, by the way, may not seem significant to you. But how the owner's feels about his team is something the football people must be keenly monitoring if they want to enjoy some sort of job security. And it is clear those absences are a sign of disapproval.

It doesn't end there.

Ross is clearly not happy with Miami's 1-5 home record. That record is terrible for any team, but particularly frustrating for a team that has managed a 5-1 record on the road. Clearly, if a team can win on the road, it should be able to manage some wins at home as well. If that isn't happening, it suggest they are under-achieving at home. Certainly, Sunday's loss to the previously 4-7 Cleveland Browns suggests that.

And that is bad because Ross wants his home games to be fun and entertaining and an event. He has spent many resources -- celebrities, concerts, noise, etc ... -- on making home games a bigtime experience.

The problem is all the appetizer and side dish stuff loses its meaning when the main course, the actual football team, is not palatable on its home turf. What's more, the Dolphins are not only seldom successful at home this year, they are boring in the process.

The Dolphins are averaging 16.3 points per game at home this year. They are averaging 19.5 points on the road.

That is not good. And it is especially not good when the owner is so keen on entertainment and showtime and offering people a compelling reason to attend games.

That leads me to the next issue: The Dolphins have two more home games at Sun Life Stadium this season. Never mind whether they win or lose those games against Buffalo (Dec. 19) and Detroit (Dec. 26).

The fact is neither one of those games is sold out at this time. The fact is, barring some unexpected series of events, neither of those games is likely to sell out in time to avert the local television blackout.

That sets a bad tone, folks. Home games that are not sold out make the owner (more) unhappy.

And that is increasingly an issue for folks like Sparano and Ireland.

[I'll be discussing this very topic on my radio show, Armando and the Amigo, today from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. I'm sure the other local morning hosts that read this blog for material will pick up on this, but I would encourage you to listen to me directly so I can share other tidbits on this topic with you. Armando and the Amigo is on 640 Sports in South Florida.]

But sure I am that Sonia will never cut the "bacalao"(as we Cubers say).

Henne is done -- stick a fork in him -- forget the plan. I have been saying on this blog for two years that Henne cannot win the big one. He could not win them at Michigan (vs. Ohio State). He is not winning them in Miami. This game was a big one. Just look at the standings -- 7-5 would have put us in the playoff picture. But, Henne did not step up and lead the team. So, enough is enough. We need to stop wasting time on Henne.

Henne will be a great back-up QB. He has experience. He is not expensive. He knows the system. Time to look for a new QB. And, I don't think we would be giving up on the season. We have a better chance to win with Thigpen. We should not look at the Bears game as indicative of what Thiggy could do. Besides, in the Bears game, Thiggy only had one interception and had a 68 passer rating. I say give Thiggy a chance and use Penny as the play caller. We are paying for Penny, let's use his brain -- which is likely better than Henning.

Dear Mr. Salguero

Do you think the Dolphins destruction was an inside job ?

When the Dolphins came crashing down it was very similar to a controled demolition.

If you watch yesturdays game in slow motion you can see little explosions moments before the Dolphins came crashing down.

Also heard fans say the smelled C-4 explosives around Dan Henning, Tony Sporano and Jeff Ireland.

What ever happened to Bill Parcells ?

Was he paid 12 million to keep this quiet ?

Am I the new Home ?

I am scared Mr. Salguero :(

Soiled :)

I read somewhere that Green Bay Packers are partly owned by the city. Any truth to that?

I'm pretty sure Sparano gets another year too Oscar. Not really calling for his head. I'm just saying I'm starting to believe he's more of the problem than I initially thought.

I'm willing to give him another year, IF he learns how better to affect the game. That he IS HC, and SHOULD be making the tough decisions in the game to help his team win. You don't just put the players out there and say, "go play." You have to help when you see the team floundering. I hope Tony learns from his mistakes this year. The good coaches learned how to be good coaches. Sparano needs to learn as well, or else he's gone and we'll be back at square 1 again.

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE, PLEASE DON'T WRITE (( I HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT FOR TWO YEARS AND I TOOK CRAP FOR IT )) .NO BODY REMEMBERS IT ,

Dumb Coach + Dumb QB = No Chance.

I agree with most posters..What Ross does off the field does not affect what goes on on the field. Annoying, yes. Unnecessary, yes. Especially with this team's performance.

Armando, still think the fact the Dolphins can win on the road and can't win at home has nothing to do with location and everything to do with the quality of the teams we play? Is Cleveland a good team? Is it right the Bears team that came into OUR building was allowed to embarass us the way they did on THREE days rest? No Sir, something is rotten in Denmark! I don't live in Miami, so I can't go to the games but I think SOME of this has to be laid at the feet of the fans and the owner. He's put together a circus atmosphere there, with his celebrities and stuff but really does it do anything for the team or the football fans? Does it make a difference? Maybe this is part of the reason Parcells hit the road. Say what you want, but there's not a fotball culture there and some things need to change or we are going to continue to struggle at home. Nobody fears come into Miami any more and that's just wrong. Cut the freak shows and let's get back to making it a football environment.

I sure hope you are wrong, DC. But, we'll see.

Chet,

I cannot agree with you more. I hate seeing Sparano celebrating a FG. There is too many FGs with this team.

Chad Henne 24- 29 int td ratio first two years

Troy aikman hall of famer 20 -36.

Wow. I could find similar stats on others.

Oh, but Alice was smart.

This season sucked. I wait all year for this. Parcells is overrated. I can not even defend Henne much anymore, inconsistant. This just looks like anopther 3 years of rebuilding AGAIN! God I hope I am wrong

ive been the biggest henne fan there is.ive allways waved his flag but after yesteday he lost that game.its time to draft a first rd qb.cam netwon

"I'm deeply disappointed in Chad Henne", Bill Parcells, September 2010.

Poizen, They have a good Nucleus, but they have reached(Fist pumper) All they can achieve, Gotta get a new Head coach......

Tuna is at the track...
Ross is M.I.A.
Ireland cannot pick talent...
Sparano lack play calling skills...
Henne sucks...
Marshall is a premadonna....
...and finally there will be no CBA signed by Sept 2011.

Therefore we have 4 more games to suffer through...then 2 years to clean house and get some REAL football minds to fix this abortion.

Sept. 2012 the New Era in Dolphins history begins...

Again, one part of this team (offense) has fundamental flaws. They have no system, they have no strategy, no philosophy. Therefore, the GM doesn't know what type of players to draft, the players don't know what the coaches want from them, and the coaches don't know what they're doing.

The system (as far as I can tell) is simply - WIN UGLY! Every game, no matter the opponent, the strategy is to win a close game. Don't make mistakes, don't overextend yourself, don't use surprise or momentum or play to the opposing team's weaknesses or your strengths. The ONLY overlying philosophy every game is to win a close game.

That's what I'm saying. That's flawed. It doesn't work for this team in this division in this league at this time. Maybe somewhere else. Maybe another team. NOT this team. Tony's had 3 years of THIS SAME STRATEGY. It barely got you to a division championship (when you had Pennington, the master of playing error-free football and winning close games) during a year where you had the easiest schedule in the league. But that won't work with a rookie QB.

Until that fundamental flaw is fixed. Until Sparano sees the error of his ways. Until an OC puts in a system that can WIN in this league at this time, then nothing will change. And I don't expect it to.

Firing Henning with 4 games to play after the career he's had is as unrealistic as benching Favre after the career he's had. It ain't happening (and would be pointless anyway). This season is over. So play out the remaining games. Let Henning retire. And then the most important off-season decision must be made (and HERE'S where Ross can play a role). The new OC MUST have a system that works, MUST be willing to fight for his system and MUST hold his players responsible for either being a good fit for his system or not.

NH, Didn't you hear that earth will end in 2012 according to the Mayan calender?????

WAKE LEADS THE NFL WITH 12 SAKS ........................ DANSBY AT 42 MILLION FOR WHAT ?

sick of the retard decisions in this organization. pass on brees and take culpepper, give our best player to the pats, welker. thanks saban, i like jake long, but who did the homework on henne. pat white? what are we gonna do about RB next year? I like our defense when they get healthy. a lot of offinsive holes with not enough picks next year. why r the phins playing conservative when thier chances of making playoffs are done. ?????????????? lots of ? marks with no answers. by the way parcells needs a bra!

DC,

You have pretty much said everything there is to say....

Somebody posted on here that specials teams play was getting better...I disagreed (we almost had a punt blocked that game)....I think that person might agree with me now.....YOU CAN'T HIRE FROM WITHIN WHEN YOU FIRE THE COORDINATOR.....It makes no sense...they learn from their boss and bring the same crappy scheme's.

And before you bring up Jason Garret, 2 points....

1. JC was a Coordinator...not the assistant to the OC

2. I think JC sabatoged WADE....

Diarrhea of the keyboard.

can we try a 4 wide set one time?

Further proof that Henne is a moron and can't even lead a team of high school players.

"We have to sop hurting ourselves in the foot"

Really Chad? Hurting yourselves in the foot you say? Because the rest of the world uses the phrase "shooting ourselves in the foot".

This guy is such a fool he can't even get his cliche's right.

I know I've called for patience with Henne but yesterday I lost mine. The throw, or under throw to Hartline was inexcusable. Guys wide open, it's a td that even the worst qbs can throw. He's in over his head. I don't even care if he has a good game next week. He will follow it up with a stinker. He is obviously inconsistent and we can't rely on that to change. Time for Ross to make some BIG changes.

ALoco, Dansby at 42 million to shore up the MLB spot. You can't think the defense would have been better WITHOUT Dansby, can you? Dansby job isn't to sack anybody. It's to cover the middle of the field. Cleveland was held to 1 TD and 1 FG, for all but 2 min of this game. To me, that's a shutdown defense. I don't see how anyone can find anything wrong with the defense yesterday.

Yeah, Carroll should have made that INT. The ONE guy who would have made it, is now on Houston. Everyone here thought he couldn't cover (but he had great hands). Carroll is a rookie. And a DB. If he had hands, he'd be a WR.

But the main point is the defense did what they needed to do (except score points themselves). Elite defenses do that, we're not there yet. But they did enough to win. This loss is squarely on the offense. It couldn't have been any more stark than that game showed. You get the ball back, with 3min, in a lackluster game, at home, and can't will yourselves to come up with one last good drive? Pathetic. For professional athletes, that's just pathetic. And unacceptable. But I'm not sure what Dansby has to do with it.

Zeek, He'd(Henne) only get confused.........

Hmmm Should we start the rumor of John gruden For miami head coach Again... Not the caines but the dolphins......

Special teams stink....

RBs stink....

O-Line Stinks....

OUR offense wears down OUR defense with thier inability to stay on the feild...(Credit Zaphod with that...he said it yesterday and correct)

Coach calls timeout to decide IF he wants to challenge a play...."HEY COACH....IF YOU THROW THE FLAG AND WIN THE CHALLENGE YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED A TIMEOUT....HOWEVER YOU CAN'T GET THAT TIMEOUT BACK IF YOU CHALLENGE AFTER YOU CALL A TIMEOUT....HELLO)

3RD and 4 and we get caught with 12 men on the feild...WTF.....WTF

I agree that we should draft a QB in the first round. I realize we also have other needs, but with a more consistant QB, the Dolphins have 2-3 more wins this year. He doesn't necessarly need to be elite, just consistantly dependable. We also need to adress the RB situation.

Aloco, Please.............. post under your name.......

Whoever remains from parcells crew must go. Bring in a GM who knows how to draft PLAYERS for their play, not for their size. This is a WIN NOW business. Not draft or sign a guy & give him 2-3 years to learn to play a new position. Misi, Francis & Wake among others. Not sign FA because of their flexibility (Procter, Mcquistan). Sign & Draft PLAYERS who excel at 1 thing, not are decent at a few things. Who's to blame for bringing Incognito in? Who's to blame for benching Jerry for the god AWFUL Mcquistan?

Give Nolan the HC job. We need to be aggressive & dictate play, not sit back & react like Sparano prefers. Nolan has shown that on Defense.

I've supported Chad & I'm with others that he looked bad yesterday. But, let's TRY be real here. He was throwing to 3 un-drafted WR's when Hartline went out. He botched the Hartline pass. That's on him. But I'm not gonna kill him in this game. The Browns are better than allot of people think and are certainly better than us.

I didn't see many guys running open aside from the missed pass to Hartline. The throw to Bess the kid was trying to make a play. Was Fasano really open? I couldn't see. Like every game, he has shown a tendency to make 1 or 2 bad plays a game. That was the one.

The bottom line is, we need talent. Whoever we draft & sign MUST have speed. Special teams, C, LG, TE, Rb, FS, OLB & ILB. This team wasn't a playoff team this year. People here are blaming Henne for missing out this year? LOL Bringing in Dansby & Marshall provided some with false hope this team was ready. They aren't & it's not all Henne's fault.

Armando, You say Ross is clearly upset? Clearly? Because he didn't come down after the game? That's a leap of faith to make that coorelation. Common sense suggests that he ought to be po'd, so you might want to rephrase that as "You would think he would be angry" , and by "you" I mean you, Armando. I'm not buying it until he comes out and says something. I've seen too many owners screw it up to think that he is feeling anything more than indifference.

If fans think because he is a billionaire he will be a successful NFL owner, look around the league. Every team that is at the bottom of their division has a very wealthy person running the show. $$$ does not automatically guarantee wins in the NFL. William Clay Ford is the grandson of Henry Ford, and the last time I checked he is doing ok (not worried about his next meal). Lion fan however, is not. He has not been ok for a long, long, long time. To quote Marcellus in Pulp Fiction after being sodomized by a wack job, "I am far from ok".

Look this team is being built ok, considering. The best and the worst thing that could have happened to theis team was going 11-5 after 1-15. The team needed that year to change culture, attitude and show players it could be done and make this a place people would want to play. Many of the key players present in that turnaround were mercenaries and are either gone or not in this teams long term plans. Pennington, Ferguson, Andre Goodman, Will Allen, Holliday, Porter, had some of their better years in 2008. Ignore that year ... it was a one night stand that made you feel good. Ignore the bum free agents that they brought in too, if you are going to gamble cutting them in an uncapped year accellerates the bonus payout, so they arent going to hurt you when/if the league comes up w/ a cap. For all the talk of Henne, this team is still not near where Pitt, Balt, NYG, Philly or the better teams are talent wise. Miami's D is getting better, but you see the flaws... no real NT, a glaring weakness at one of the ILBs, very suspect play at FS and one of the cb positions. No you are not going to tell me they are going to beat the better teams with that.
No interior OL, very average TEs, and an OC who even idiot bloggers like us can see is wayyyy out there and needs to be euthanized like old Yeller. The coach has taken us as far as he can with this talent.

Run D was excellent...without Crowder...anybody miss him yeterday....anybody say to themselves...."if only Crowder were out there....."

Aloco please give up the monetary conspiracy theories bit. Dansby is an inside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme that is called on to defend the pass and stop the run more than sack the qb.

If you're going to throw stats out there to try and prove a player is garbage go the whole way. Find out how many times Wake has rushed the passer as opposed to Dansby.

Dansby is doing an EXCELLENT job for this defense and is no where even close to being a problem. Look at his tackle totals. Look at how the team has shut down two of the leagues better rushers in the past couple of games.

Aloco your passion is appreciated but your criticism is misguided.

Changes need to be made, but this team does not need to be blown up. The drafts have been OK, not great, but some of the blown picks have been made up for by the signings of Wake & Bess. We are a really young team who has to learn how to win. I really believe the dropped ints will be caught as this team matures. As far as Henne goes, unfortunately we will probably still have to play him next year because what are you going to get via trade or free agency? As far as the draft, I say draft a QB, however, the chance of getting a Matt Ryan or Sam Bradford is slim, thus the need for Henne to play while this QB develops. Unfortunately, the Culpepper-Brees and Long-Ryan decisions are still haunting us. In my opinion, we need to fortify the O-line first, the way the Jets did it. It is much easier for Sanchez with the line he has in front of him, and a few of those guys were very high draft picks. We have tried to build our line on the cheap and it shows other than Long. As far as losing to the Browns yesterday, yes they should have won the game, but the Browns have been competitive in every game this year, and did spank the Saints and Pats so I would not classify this as the low point of the season. The Pats game was the low point as far as I am concerned. Unfortunately, some of these games like these that we thought were certain wins aren't because these teams like the Browns and Lions have really improved.

DENNY, WE LOST TO THE BROWNS W.DELHOMME AT THE HELM .WE SHOULF GET RID OF OVER PAID PLAYERS AND START TO GET WHAT THIS REALLY NEEDS ,A QB ,A RB AND QB .

For all those questioning the Long/Ryan thing...think about this. With this regime's track record with Oline, what on gods earth makes you think we'd find anyone remotely close to Long's abilities if we didn't take him? Whats good having Ryan behind a crap oline that he'd be running for his life?

Have they found ANY Olineman aside from Long to make you think they'd find one to protect your Franchise QB? Get real already. Stop comparing Ryan, Henne & Flacco. Ryan & Flacco went to established teams with good talent around them!

Ok, here's a scenario I'd like feedback on (to see if you guys see it like me or not). Joe Hayden (CB on the right side) was awesome for Cleveland all game. Making plays everywhere.

So, as an OC, you see that guy is on fire. WHY not call plays to the opposite side of the field? But no, they threw to that side pretty much ALL game. WHY? Is that on Henne (going through his progression and only that guy on that side was open)? Or on the OC, for not calling formations to the other side? I think it's the OC, but would like to hear your thoughts.

And I agree Joe, the WRs weren't getting open (as far as I could see). No separation. Again, was it them? Was it the formations (only 1-2 WR sets)? Was it the superior Cleveland DBs? Or were they open and Henne couldn't find them?

HELM .WE SHOULF GET RID OF OVER PAID PLAYERS AND START TO GET WHAT THIS REALLY NEEDS ,A QB ,A RB AND QB .

Posted by: ALoco | December 06, 2010 at 10:22 AM

But Aloco, You have been saying for months that Henne has been under paided, What's up???????????

DC, HOW COME ALL THE OTHER TEAMS WR'S GET OPEN .HOW EVERY GAME WE SAY NO BODY IS OPEN ? THEN WE SHOULD GO HOME AND SAVE THE CRAP .WHY DID WE GET MARSHALL ? WHY DID WE SIGN FASANO FOR EXTRA 2 YEARS ?

SOD, I don't think our drafts have even been OK. Look at the 1st 3 rounds of every draft:

Long, Henne, Merling & Langford (Questions surround everyone except Long) NOT GOOD

Davis, Smith, White, Turner (Davis is the only sure player. Smith is a nobody & we know White & Turner are gone)

Odrick, Misi, Jerry - The only one playing is Misi. Jerry just got benched for Pat Mcquistan!

So yea, I'd say our drafts have been OK is being generous. Our drafts have stunk at the top, where they MUST hit more than miss.

We can blame Henne all we want. Until we get someone in here who knows how to draft talent & not size, we'll never go anywhere.

We got Marshall to get Fasano, Hartline & Bess open. Even against the Raiders when we threw the ball well, without Marshall, guys were NOT open. Henne was firing balls into tight coverage.

ALoco, other team's WRs get open because:
A) there scheme is better
B) they have quick WRs who use speed to get open
C) QB is good enough to pass to a WR who's not "that" open.

1) Marshall wasn't in the game. If he was, he would have made all those catches the rookies dropped (IMO). Marshall would have eaten that defense up.

2) Fasano is being kept in to block too much (again scheme). He's not being utilized as an offensive weapon, he's basically another lineman.

3) Marshall has been a success in the NFL on another team. Everyone says Bess is one of the best slot receivers in the league right now. Hartline has progressed every year since he's been here (and has the best YAC on the team). Both Ricky and Ronnie were ProBowl players. So, talent is there. They either aren't being utilized properly (OC/HC fault) or doesn't matter what talent you have if the QB sucks. So, it's gotta be one of those things. It can't be the talent alone (doesn't add up).

They will find a way to get this thing on TV, sellout or not. They always have and always will. I have said this more than once on this site and other Dolphin forums and discussion boards.
Black out a few games and see what happens. The so called fans in Miami need a wake up call just like the team does. Black out these games and stop finding loopholes to show them when the world can see half the damn place is empty. The stadium is a ghost town every game.
Ever seen the top seats full? Yep, when they were playing in the Orange Bowl and Dan Marino was the QB.
Sun Life stadium is BS. Rename it Joe Robbie stadium or Dolphins stadium and lets rebuild this tradition called winning.
We have to start over again so why not start with naming this place after the great man that built it. JOE ROBBIE.

Aloco,Do you actually watch any Fin games????or do you just post what other people are posting???You are all over the place, one minute your posting how Henne is under payed and the next minute your saying they need to draft a QB.... Take a stand dude, quite waffling around, you sound like a a guy that's Huffing glue or paint thinner............

CUBAN, AND STILL HENNE IS UNDER PAID .IF HE MOVES TO ANOTHER TEAM HE WILL MAKE BETWEEN 3-5 MILLION A YEAR ,WE SHOULD GET HIM A REAL QB COACH AND FIR LEE THE TAKE OUT FOOD GUY .

I have been one of Henne's supporters all year ... and I still am. He dirtied the bed yesterday, he was the main culprit for the loss, he also was one of the main culprits for the baltimore loss - granted. I still don't know if he's the answer but I know he is't the main problem either.

However, this team hasn't lost 2 games all year - they've lost 6! He wasn't there to blame for the Chicago loss, the 1.5 games the special teams cost us (NE and NYJ), the Pittsburgh loss was a gift from the refs.

On the other hand, he singlehandledly won us the games against Tennesse and Oakland. So as far as I've seen it, he's lost as much as he's won. I don't know if he's the answer, but I don't think he's the main culprit either.

I think Jeff Ireland, Tony Sparano, Ronnie Brown and Dan Henning have done more to contribute to losing than any others.

And I've said this for a while, I hope Ross does clean house, these guys just don't appear to have it.

That being said, I would not be upset if the Dolphins drafted a QB in the first round next year - as long as it isn't jake Locker - he'd make fans ask for Henne back.

the dolphins media homers are defending the super trifecta

armando needs radio interviews...can't piss of the dolphins

what a joke

CUBAN, YOU CAN'T RUN A TEAM W/1 QB ,CHAD.P WAS A FRUAD .HENNE IS NOT GOD ,YOU HAVE TO HELP HIM W/QB COACH AND ANOTHER REAL QB NEXT TO HIM.

DC. I THOUGHT MARSHALL HAD ONLY I TD THE WHOLE YEAR .

Dear Mr. Ross,
Fire them all!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S Find a new QB

Aloco, What would a "QB coach" do for this guy?????? He's inconsentant and will never AND THE CUBAN MEANS NEVER be a Elite QB......

HENNE and HENNING need to pack up and retire. Henne is not the answer, we need a proven QB right now! We have all the talent in the world but with Hennings play calling and Hennes decision making there's no chance of a playoff berth. PISSED!

CUBAN, YOU CAN'T RUN A TEAM W/1 QB ,CHAD.P WAS A FRUAD .HENNE IS NOT GOD ,YOU HAVE TO HELP HIM W/QB COACH AND ANOTHER REAL QB NEXT TO HIM.

Posted by: ALoco | December 06, 2010 at 10:41 AM

Aloco..... WTF????????????????????(Put the glue down man....) (Plese...)

ALoco, he did. But he was Top 5 in the AFC in catches before the Chicago game. So, he's been getting it done. When we saw the offense go up and down the field (just not score), that was because of Marshall and Bess, getting 1st downs. This team couldn't get 1st downs yesterday.

Anyway, why blame a guy who wasn't in the game? There were 53 players out there, but you're blaming the one guy who could do nothing to help the team. I don't get that.

If you're saying Marshall isn't worth his paycheck (which I guess you are) I disagree. I think Miami would be worse without Marshall. You don't take your more potent weapon away to get another weapon. You keep your good players, and add to them. That's how you form a winning team. Marshall is a winner. If he leaves Miami, he'll go win somewhere else. I'd rather he wins in Miami (or else Miami finds another guy like a Marshall who CAN be a game changer if given the chance). But if you're gonna keep Henne, keep Hartline, keep Fasano, then it's silly to think by getting rid of Marshall you'd be helping the team. There's no common sense to that.

This team better go after a QB in the firts pick of the 2011 DRAFT ( Matty, Ice)yes this guy could have been a Dolphin.Look where Tampa is going compare to Miami.

Mark In Toronto, I think allot of our ills can be solved in FA(RB, DB, C, RT, ILB), but QB has to be a top end talent at this point. The franchise can't try to find a guy to develop or a 1 year fill in & win now anymore. We have failed the last 3 years with this approach. They have to be aggressive. I am still a Henne supporter, but if they are gonna get a QB, he has to be a can't miss at this point. No more games. To make an omelete you gotta break a few eggs. Those eggs are draft picks in this case.

Miamifinatic, where is all the talent exactly? Wake, Bess, Long, Davis, Dansby & Marshall isn't exactly A LOT of talent! Especially when 2 of the other guys were FA's, that's not too hard to do. The hard part is drafting them & that's where we fail!

Petty, please tell me how good do you think Matty Ice would be behind an oline, assembled by this Mng't team, that did NOT contain Jake Long. Enough of the drafting Matt Ryan already. You can' bring in any Qb you want but without a LT to block for him, he will not change ANYTHING.

dc, if isign marshall and dansby for 92 million ,how i cAN JUSTFY OTHER PLAYERS SALAR AND HOW I CAN HAVE A TEAM CHEMISTRY .
