Dolphins lose to Patriots, end season 7-9

The Dolphins season is over.

They lose to the New England Patriots 38-7 and the loss might be the final game for this team as you know it.

Coach Tony Sparano might get fired after this.

General Manager Jeff Ireland might get fired after this.

Quarterback Chad Henne, taken out of the lineup for much of this game, might have been fired already.

Owner Stephen Ross was not in New England to witness this debacle. He is traveling out of country.

Sparano and company better hope Ross didn't have Internet access today.

7-9 in year three...

a huge disappointment.

He can read mando...that'll pretty much sum it up enough!!!!!Be Gone sparano, Be gone!!!!!!!!

crap

Henne should be retained as your 3rd string option. Trade away Thigpen. Acquire 2 QBs in the offseason (1st round draft pick and a veteran).

Get ready for Parcells to say that this regime is good.

7-9 in year three is not good. end of story. no excuses please.

who we got in the draft?

Ross made SURE he was out of the country.
Too bad no one told him the World league no longer exists, and the RheinFire's coach is now selling shoes at Neiman Marcus.

morono needs to clean out his office TODAY!

I cannot think of a single, compelling reason to watch this team next year. I hope the owner gives us one. I see nothing on offense, little on defense and the coaching staff does not give me any hope.

i actually started to get nauseous watching this game. sad to say - sparano has proven to be all bark and no bite; ireland has proven to be a failure; henne has proven to be another poor draft pick - even for 2nd round; i could go on but i'm getting sick again

Sparano is done after this. No way he'll be retained.

Well, when I'm wrong I admit it. I predicted preseason we'd go 8-8. And I was wrong. We went 7-9. But I still believe we're a few players off. Problem is, it's always the same few players.

can they fire J-lo fergie and the rest of the idiotic people on the team?

Thank you for the blog Armando and best wishes in 2011. Nothing is ever as good or as bad as it seems. A better QB, RB and a few tweaks here and there and we'll be back in 2011.

Many of us say NO MORE, we're DONE, but you KNOW, just like the addicted Fin fans we are, we'll be back, full of the same hope and optimism as this year.
Hopefully, this present staff and deadweight players won't be.

let's ask deserter parcells - only 8 minus plays. bring everybody back

Another fun year comes to a close.

for god sake, Sparano/Henning/Parcels/Ireland/Henne
show some decency and get the F--K OUT OF MIAMI!!!

I hope the phone is ringing at Bill Cowher's place and it better be Ross on the other end of the line.

Chris in the 623 - you really believe all they need is a "QB, RB and a few tweaks here and there and we'll be back in 2011"??

Sorry my friend - this team needs a new front office as well. The only coach that's a for sure keeper is Mike Nolin. Why do you think the Pats are so good and have been for years? Do you think it's all b/c of Brady and his cast. It's Brady - the cast - PLUS - a dominant head coach. We don't have that coach.

fundementals lame excuses from sparano agian...what a lame duck.....again proppings to pats for whaling us today.....Their a damn good football team...yep most teams compared to us are TONY!!!!!!!

Sparano is a gonner, I hope they retain Nolan though. By the way I hope Sparano stays but the team has quit on him ... By the way to all of you morons asking for Cowher, sure he won the SB but he had a losing record after his first three years in PITT Fyi.... Anyways I see us getting either Orton as a QB next year although I hope they trade for Kolb. Crowder, Incognito, Williams and Fasano need to go. Soliai and McDaniel need to be resigned. We also need a deep threat to play opposite of Marshall and we need to keep Bess in the slot and Brown as a goal line specialist.

Folks, Mando's LONG GONE, racing to the locker room to quietly console Tony...lol
Hopefully NOT.

Questions are pointless now. Only a cretin couldn't have observed this fiasco and found anything to ask regarding the future.

"Hey coach, you expect to be around next year?"
"Well, we'll look at the game film, etc"

We will know the future in 3-5 days....
For now, everyone have a fine off season. Really miss that traitor J Cole right now. at least we could chat music.

That patsies want Ross to keep Morono around for another year. 2 free wins.

I don't think that anyone is THAT surprised...

The Patriots are peeking right now.

The Dolphins have no QB
a makeshift Offensive Line
and a cruddy Offensive Coordinator.

Most of the games this year have not been close to this horrible.
The defense played uncharacteristically poor today
It was a perfect storm of bad things.

Hopefully Gary Kubiak gets the O.C job in 2011.
.
.

The coming months will be interesting.
We now get to find out of we have;

Dan Rooney

Dan Snyder

or...
Al Davis

Remember:
TEAMS THAT CHANGE HEAD COACHES EVERY THREE YEARS NEVER WIN!
.
.

Ross is on the phone with Gruden and cowher's people already...

Your revelation that Ross is out of the country BUMMED ME OUT, DUDE!

He HAd to witness this putrid debacle play-by-play to realize once & for all BLOW IT UP is the lone answer.

38-7, believe it or not, can be spun by Fist Pump & Tuna into "we're close."

I keep hearing that Cowher had a losing record his first three years ... that is true ... but I think he was a better coach at the END of his tenure then he was at the BEGINNING of his tenure. We would be hiring the coach he was at the END not the young coach he was when he first started. There's a lot of experience in between the two that he HOPEFULLY bring to the team IMMEDIATELY!

HE'S GONNA BE BACK ...LOMBARDI WAS RIGHT ..PARCELLS DID CONVINCE HIM TO KEEP SPORANO..TONY MORONO JUST SAID THAT WE DON'T WANT THIS FEELING AGAIN AND WE'LL REMEMBER THIS ..THAT MEANS HE'S GONNA BE BACK..WHY SAY THAT!

I think a good OC can make any QB excellent. Last year, Cassel in KC was awful (or at least having people question why he was traded for.) Add a great OC, and boom, he looks like Montana.

Just saying - I think our scheme would make most QBs look terrible.

I think Ross being out of the country says it all. 6-10 in 2011.

"IN THE TRIFECTA WE BUST"

Yeah Ross being out of the country for our last game tells me he doesn't even want to see Tony and Jeff. Consider that Ross's silent message to the fans that change is coming!

Ross should have watched this-----now the Tuna Voodoo will work on him.

Sparano's comments are those of a crook who knows he's beaten the rap & promises to do better the next time.

Pray it ain't Jeff Fisher.
Don't be surprised if it takes 2 weeks to name a new guy. Cowher would be foolish to come here.
I think inevitably it will be Nolan, as Ross may not want to risk another assistant with NO HC experience.

Capers is a possibility, not an offensive guy. Nolan would sure leave. In fact, I'm wagering Nolan's gone if he doesn't get the HC job.
Heard it here, folks.

HE'S GONNA BE BACK ...LOMBARDI WAS RIGHT ..PARCELLS DID CONVINCE HIM TO KEEP SPORANO..TONY MORONO JUST SAID THAT WE DON'T WANT THIS FEELING AGAIN AND WE'LL REMEMBER THIS ..THAT MEANS HE'S GONNA BE BACK..WHY SAY THAT!OH WELL ...ANOTHER LONG OFF SEASON AND ANOTHER YEAR LIKE THIS ONE..REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THE FINS KEPT WANSTAND LONGER THAN THEY SHOULD..HE GOT FIRED MIDSEASON...TONY'S BACK!AH S@#@#!

Francisco:

Williams and incognito (maybe Fasano) should definitely stay. Crowder: don't let the door hit you on the ass...

I'm not a huge Cowher fan, but Bill Cowher did NOT have a losing record in his first three years. He was 11-5 and made the playoffs year 1; was 9-7 in year 2; and was 12-4 in year three, taking the Steelers to the AFC championship game.

As far as backups go think I'd prefer to keep Thigpen. Think he's more likely to provide the spark you want in a backup. Not sure Henne could find a spark in hell.

This isn't the old days when being out of the country meant a static filled phone line. I can guarantee you that Mr. Ross was watching in real time and is very aware of what is going on.

Unless he was vacationing in Antarctica or somewhere like that. Even Gilligan's Island has a radio.

If he was gonna be back Ross would have endorsed Tony and been at this game

They have so many huge holes, where do you begin? This felt worse than the 1-15 season for some reason.

Pathetic ... Embarrassing ... Just disgusting! Many FINS looked liked a bunch of quitters -- especially Crowder who did not have a tackle in 3 quarters of play. Coaching was awful. I don't care whether you like Tony or not ... the coach is ultimately responsible for the performance. Just look at the Bengals and the Raiders, they showed up and played. Miami did not. Admit Parcels is not a genuis, fire Sparano, and move on without guys like Crowder (& his mouth) on the team and with guys like Cha-DUH- enne on the bench.

+1 there, Chuckie!

Lets see Cowher took over a crappy team and a couple years later he won a superbowl, Sparano took over a crappy team and they still are a crappy team. Edge...Cowher.

Thx IMAWriter. I know bad QB play - I live in Detroit, and have lived thru the Millen years! D'oh!

GO GET COWHER ROSS!!!

It sux when post-regular season changes are the most you have to look forward to, year after year. This once proud franchise is now pretty much irrelevant. It pains me even more that being as old as I am that I recall the glory from the 70s and the the 80s; even the 90s are the good ole days for the Fins. Now just irrelevant and another regime change waiting to happen. Ugh.

This Crappy App Will Self Destruct In 10 9 8.....

Pathetic - blown out by the pats backups. This team is not only irrelevant, you can't even see relevancy from here with help of a satellite...

Still, our there's hope for our offense. We just need coaches that can coach, a QB that can throw, receivers that can catch, runners that can run and an OL that can block. That's not too much to hope for in 2011 is it?

I am so tired of hearing about gruden and cowher. Both would be a good temporary business decision, but a horrible football decision. The only replacement, if he could be coaxed out of retirement, that would be wise decision both on the football and business side of it would be Dungy.

If your are not going to post a realistic option to fix the problem, then quit your bitcn.

Think the Patriots would accept the Dolphins 1st rounder for Hoyer? or do we hold out for Whitehurst from Seattle?

3 problems lack of speed, lack of leadership and lack of effort. clean house!!!!!!! dont let the door hit you on the way out

Another game, another loss, another five balls batted down as our QB Chad "BatMan" Henne shows all of the mobilty of a statue. The womens NBA league is way more exciting than these Dolphins. I don't care what they do: keep the coach, fire the coach,it doesn't matter anymore. When the bleeping Bufallo Bills some more upside than these clowns, all hope is lost.

oh yea this team is worse than the 2007 dolphins nooo doubt

Meet me at the bar! LOL

Lets see Cowher took over a crappy team and a couple years later he won a superbowl

-FISHYPETE

Thats some werious revionist history you are writing unless you consder 14 years a couple

Disgraceful.Embarasssing.Pathetic.Unaccepatable.You listening Mr Ross?

As a Pats fan, I think the Phins are not that far away. They do need an upgrade at QB. Wonder how Drew Brees would look? You have a solid D, a pretty good Oline. It is an offensive league now, so another receiver, QB, and good tight end and a better offensive coach. Maybe McDaniels as OC.

I thought there was a article a few weeks ago about how the players liked playing for Sparano. We'll probably be hearing something different soon, they mailed this one in.

If Parcells is still owed money I'd stop paying him if I was Mr. Ross and make him sue you.

Hope there is a empty box on Sparano's desk for him to load his crap in and get gone. Tell the rest of the staff that they are dismissed but that they can re-apply for a job.
