PITTSBURGH -- Will I ever cover my own team in the AFC Championship game?
Please, someone answer me.
The Dolphins are not here. The comment i get most from writers from around the country covering this game is, "What the (bleep) is going on down there?"
My answer: "I do not know. I am not responsible."
I do know the Dolphins are not a total disaster. The Dolphins split two games with these Jets. The Dolphins lost by one point to Pittsburgh. They do not totally lack ability to compete.
Anyway, let's watch this game and see what team earns the right to play the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl. Let's see happens.
The live blog starts in the comments section below.

WOW!.................
If the Steelers win today we can at least claim we beat one of the SB participants or champions and came within a blown official's decision of beating the other.
Not saying we're nearly that good, but does show how unpredictably "wacky" the nfl can sometimes be! LOL................

Mando,
Carson Palmer wants a trade, would you make that trade if you were the Dolphins?
Posted by: Zach | January 23, 2011 at 06:28 PM
No to Carson Palmer
Posted by: Mike | January 23, 2011 at 06:29 PM
no reason to waste a pick on trading for palmer
Posted by: bill_cnnrs@yahoo.com | January 23, 2011 at 06:30 PM
The Jets are thirsty for a win. They're on a 42-year Super Bowl drought.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | January 23, 2011 at 06:30 PM
Armando,
Im certainly glad Hanie threw the game ending pick or his name would have been ballied about here as Henne's replacement. Some here dstill will, not recognizing when a DC has ZERO time to prepare for a qb almost any can look great for a SHORT period of time!
Cinderella has broken her glass slipper! Broken fragments formed a game ending Packer victory formation! LOL...........
Posted by: DyingBreed | January 23, 2011 at 06:31 PM
Yea I wouldn't either, its just a thought...I like Hasselbeck more than anyone if we decide to go that route
Posted by: Zach | January 23, 2011 at 06:33 PM
Armando,
Woe to the Jets! People in Hell thirst for cold drinking water. Just like the Jets, it doesnt mean it will happen. LOL..............
Posted by: DyingBreed | January 23, 2011 at 06:33 PM
Zach, Palmer is an upgrade from Chad Henne.
But is he the answer? when I watched him against the Dolphins, he was not accurate and his presence in the pocket seemed sketchy. He was almost afraid of getting hit.
Having said that ... what is the price?
A third rounder? A fourth?
I doubt Cincy will just let him go cheap ... I would not give a ton up for him. Maybe a conditionaly third that could become a second if he leads the team to the playoffs.
But that would be thinking about 2012.

Jason Taylor is one of the Jets captains tonight.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | January 23, 2011 at 06:36 PM
No sense giving up great value for Palmer unless 100% certain Henne will never be a competent starter in this league and feel Palmer is at least a 5yr starting qb answer for your franchise moving forward.
Posted by: DyingBreed | January 23, 2011 at 06:39 PM
ARMANDO,
IS JASON TAYLOR WILL GRACE US ALL AND RETIRE AFTER TONIGHT'S DEFEAT .
Posted by: ALoco | January 23, 2011 at 06:39 PM
Trust me cocoajoe, Navratilova never looked like that.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | January 23, 2011 at 06:40 PM
I hate the Jets but love Jason Taylor, tough call to make in what I want to happen.
Posted by: DeadlyDolphinz | January 23, 2011 at 06:40 PM
SANCHAZ WILL FREEZ AND JASON TAYLOR WILL FREEZ SOLID ICE .
Posted by: ALoco | January 23, 2011 at 06:42 PM
Palmer is an interesting QB. Not long ago he was looked at as a top 5 QB in the NFL, we all know he has an exceptional arm, but has he been broken in Cincy?
If he can be fixed, the reward is great.
Posted by: DeadlyDolphinz | January 23, 2011 at 06:43 PM
Just signed in... In case it hasnt been mentioned, F JASON TAYLOR!!!
Posted by: robbyhernz | January 23, 2011 at 06:43 PM

Dont wanna give Ben 3rd and shorts all day! LOL..............

Hines Ward has caught a pass in 16 consecutive playoff games.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | January 23, 2011 at 06:44 PM
Say what yo want about Chad Henne, or any of our players. What a pathetic performance by Jay Cutler. I understand he had a knock. but you are supposed to be a leader.Leaders do not act like spoiled frat boy babies when things are not going your way. did anyone else notice Cutlers body language on the sidleline? Unexceptable, and emmbarrasing. Cutler quit on his team. What a premaddona loser.

Bad penalty!
Posted by: DyingBreed | January 23, 2011 at 06:44 PM
How do you guys feel about the fact the Dolphins interviewed both head coaches in this game ... and hired neither?
Posted by: Armando Salguero | January 23, 2011 at 06:45 PM
CARSON PALMER...14 MILLION A YEAR AND TO AND OCHCHINO ARE OUT,HE WILL STAY AS CIN BANGLE .
Posted by: ALoco | January 23, 2011 at 06:45 PM
Good call Ref!
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 23, 2011 at 06:45 PM
Jets being called with their usual aggressive bumping past 5 yards.... shocking!
Posted by: DeadlyDolphinz | January 23, 2011 at 06:46 PM
DT gets a hit on Ben and still he doesnt go down, almost completing the pass!
Posted by: DyingBreed | January 23, 2011 at 06:47 PM
1st Down!

Daryl....thats what I said on the last blog.....if he wasn't in an ambulance going to the hospital...then he should have been on the feild.....I'm sure it will be much scutinized by the CHI fan base
Posted by: Kris | January 23, 2011 at 06:47 PM
Ecstatic we didnt hire Ryan!! Can't even stress how happy we didnt hire him!!! Only b happy if hiring Tomlin meant no Henning.
Posted by: robbyhernz | January 23, 2011 at 06:47 PM
I BRAY TO GOD STEELERS WIN AND ARMANDO COMES BACK HOME BROKEN IN SPIRIT .

and the CHI players.....
Posted by: Kris | January 23, 2011 at 06:48 PM
Yes Armando, you will.
Posted by: Utdolfan | January 23, 2011 at 06:48 PM
Armando,
I am glad we do not have a coach like Ryan, as for Tomlin, tough to say how good he would have done getting keys to a team in need of a total revamp, instead of a already super bowl contender.
Posted by: DeadlyDolphinz | January 23, 2011 at 06:48 PM
Armando,
Doesnt matter both coaches were interviewed. They sitll would have had to work with what's presently on the team. Still Parcells would have hired Henning as OC too.
We wouldnt have made bold moves the Jets made nor had Ben at qb and the Steelers defense.
Posted by: DyingBreed | January 23, 2011 at 06:49 PM
Run Baby Run!
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 23, 2011 at 06:51 PM
love how parcells has time today to give his take on todays games to espn

1st Down!!!!
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 23, 2011 at 06:51 PM
Great point deadlydolphinz... Tonkin walked into a championship caliber team. Mando would usually note that but he's been unusually Debbie-downer lately!
Posted by: robbyhernz | January 23, 2011 at 06:51 PM
Loving this runing game.....just OUT-TUFFEN....the jets
Posted by: Kris | January 23, 2011 at 06:52 PM
Nice catch, why does that name ring a bell?
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 23, 2011 at 06:53 PM
Whether we made the Steelers coach or Ryan our HC the exact same upper level decisions would still have been made by Parcells/Ireland.
Be careful what you wish for Armando, the outcome may not been any different.
Posted by: DyingBreed | January 23, 2011 at 06:53 PM
I think that is a good challenge. That ball moved when it hit the ground.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | January 23, 2011 at 06:53 PM
looks like a catch from that angle
Posted by: Kris | January 23, 2011 at 06:53 PM
Armando...How's the new Fairmont in Pitt? Checkout Pepe's for some great sandwiches. That place is a hit off the pipe!
Posted by: Darryl Dunphy | January 23, 2011 at 06:54 PM
F*** the Jets.....
JT is just along for the ride and will have nothing to do with the final outcome of this game.
Posted by: Utdolfan | January 23, 2011 at 06:54 PM
F*** the jests
Posted by: dishpan | January 23, 2011 at 06:55 PM
It is a good challenge Armando....you can't just give up a play that puts a team inside the 10.....if it has any questions.....I think it will stand tho
Posted by: Kris | January 23, 2011 at 06:55 PM
This call will be overturned, but with how the Steelers are playing this drive, it may not matter.
Is another team showing more toughness then the mouths? I love it!
Posted by: DeadlyDolphinz | January 23, 2011 at 06:55 PM
Aloco, Ive tried to use a "Translator" for your posts, What language are you using???? Hi Mando..
Posted by: Cuban Menace | January 23, 2011 at 06:55 PM
The greatest tale-tale sign of this game will be when the Jets offense takes the field. How Sanchez handles that first offense series may be great insight into how this game will go.
If Sanchez rattles early it will be Steeler's victory by at least a 17pt margin. LOL.........
Posted by: DyingBreed | January 23, 2011 at 06:56 PM
Armando......"kings to you"....I lost that one
Posted by: Kris | January 23, 2011 at 06:56 PM
Mando, let's don't go there. What do you think about Parcells endorsement of Ryan for jets coach? I know you saw it.
Posted by: cocoajoe | January 23, 2011 at 06:56 PM
Hi Cuban. Get your mandarin translator book out and off you go.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | January 23, 2011 at 06:57 PM
utdolfan,
I have to disagree, Taylor still makes plays, I expect something from him today. He wants this bad.
Posted by: DeadlyDolphinz | January 23, 2011 at 06:57 PM
The Steelers have had the ball for what seems like forever
Posted by: Zach | January 23, 2011 at 06:57 PM
Cutler should be taking notes.....
