So much to cover. So little time during the season.
But it is the offseason -- at least for the Dolphins it is -- so let's roll with a live blog chat today, starting at 1 p.m. and going until my hands get numb from typing. I do not know how long that will be, but we'll go at least one hour and probably longer.
So if you have a question. If you have a comment. If you have a bone to pick, either with me or the Dolphins and would like to talk about that, it's all good.
As usual, you can circumvent the typing and reading and so forth and simply speak to me directly. I am available, you know.
My personal phone number is 888-640-9385. But I have to warn you: I only answer that number on weekdays from 6-10 a.m. while I'm on the air hosting my radio show, Armando and the Amigo on 640-Sports in South Florida.
It is a toll free call, in case you're wondering.
Either way, I am available.
Actually, I'm married. But you get my drift.

Mando, Wondering if you are still around the blog, anyways my question is who is going to be, in your opinion, the Offensive coordinator and the QB for the Dolphins in 2011? (Yes I know everyone wants to talk Harbaugh, Gruden, Cowher, Ross and Sparano, but can we get past that already, pleaaaase?!)

And QB coach, what move is the FO looking to go, what was Tony's vision of how to fix this?
Posted by: cowkilla | January 10, 2011 at 05:46 AM
We need to drop ronnie/ricky dinasoaur tandem, and draft a rookie RB with speed. We need a Off. coordinator, someone who is a visionary, and into high octane-low drag, creative playbook (ie Oregon Coach/off coordinator). Drafting another QB if it falls to us in draft. The culture in Miami should be how many points will we score this week, 30-40? That can only be done if we train for it in offseason (players with speed, playbook that has 25/80 plays that are 30 yards or deeper, run a hurry-up off w/ spread formation, 2 TE set for passing not running, among other changes) With the direction our def is heading, plus an offence like that we be top 3 team in our conference. Peace.

Armando - Greetings from Chelmsford, England. Thanks for keeping us up to speed with everything in Dolphinland - great job. My question is about Sparano. Surely he's established himself as a Parcells-style, old-fashioned, run-based offensive coach. A leopard doesn't change his spots, so how is he suddenly going to become a coach that likes an innovative, exciting and multi-faceted offense? Firstly, it's not possible without a good qb. Secondly, what Offensive Coordinator is out there that can help deliver this? Personally, I feel his position is untenable as he now has the owner telling him how to run the team. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks again, Armando.

Hopefully Ross can throw the money he was willing to give Harbaugh at Nnamdi Asomugha.

What OC will come to a Team knowing any bad start will get the Coach Fired as they tried to replace him this last week??????

Just this breaking news bulletin on the ESPN ticker: Rex Ryan and his wife to hold open tryouts for barefooted kickers this week. Inviting men and women to come out and put their best foot forward.

Guys, I'm so fed up with all these regime changes that I'm willing to deal with Sparano another few years. This is the first coach the players have really liked, even though they did not show that on the NE game. Nevertheless, I have to say that the issues here came from the OC and QB coach. And I know it was Sparano's responsibilities to make changes and so... but at the end, Sparano is still a young coach and has a lot to learn. Being a coach in our division is never an easy task and Sparano is now realizing that this division is nothing to be wreaked with. In Sparano I believe and he will show this season wwether nor not I need to correct my comments above.
My unprofessional recommendation: *** Keep in mind these recommendations are strictly from a fan standpoint and what I would like to see as a fan. I'm very aware that is easier to write on this post than it would be to implement.
* Henne Stays as a back-up to a veteran QB - Many available on FA.
* New and young QB Coach from this ear.
* New young OC from a team that has AFC OC experience
* Draft a speed RB who can work the flats when working the spread formation.
* Fasano will be good enough for now. Draft a young TE to develop behind Fasano.
* Draft one or two more small fast receivers to complement the spread formation the new OC should run this year.
Go Dolphins

Any truth to the rumor the Cowboys are seeking Nolan?? I read they might have to settle for Bowles but really want Mike Nolan. Now that would hurt!
Posted by: Scott | January 10, 2011 at 07:30 AM
By the way, I fail to mentioned on my on my last post that our owner (Ross) is also a rookie owner and has a lot to learn. What I like about this is that he does not know how to deal with not winning like a lot of the owners that have been in the league for a while. Ross can only make decisions that involved financial circumstances and not personal. We all know how that turned out this time around and is totally understandable coming out of a young owner. I'm certain that the next regime change with come with a mjuch different approach. Hope is not anytime soon.
* I wish Sparano the best and hope he can get this turned around for us. Dolphins wins this year and all this circus everyone keeps referring to will all be forgotten and Ross is a town hero.
* Fail to win and next offseason will be all talks about how Ross could have changed everything by bringing a new coach and so on...
Go Dolphins

Someone show Loco where the Caps Lock button is. Please and thank you.

At some point it would be nice for the media to speculate on the OC choices we may be targeting. Not a peep about who we are targeting during this whole process. I did see something on ESPN that Armando Salguero said Mcdaniels is "not in the mix"...but what does he know. Give us something Armando for us people who actually work and can't be on the live blog today.
Posted by: mike | January 10, 2011 at 08:01 AM
@Aloco, I always thought you had some sense till you posted John Garret next O.C.coach. Starting to sound like DC Dolfin~Dumb.
Posted by: Buffalo Bill | January 10, 2011 at 08:09 AM
You want offense bring that nut job Mike Leach in as O.C.,you'll get all the offense you want.
Posted by: Buffalo Bill | January 10, 2011 at 08:18 AM
HEY ! , Armando, Writers with blogs and people who post on them just took a hit on the Joe Rose show. The opinion was the sports writers don't know sh*t and it's even worse know that they have blogs. These was in the context of talking about the Dolphins.

Hi Armando,
You did some seriously good and wickedly funny writing on the blogs this past week. Great job and good entertainment as well. It seems our Dolphins have (again) hit bottom and started to dig. So, what do you think the Dolphins will do in the offseason (assuming the labor issues are settled) regarding the QB and Offensive Coordinator positions? Are the Dolphins going to get any help from Parcells at this point for the last year of his contract? Many thanks.
Posted by: Todd | January 10, 2011 at 08:25 AM
The only thing Joe Rose knows is how to kiss Dan no rings butt every Monday.

Forget the Wonderlik, forget the WISCII, please, if you are going to draft a QB, do one that is smart, only smart.

@Aloco~ Don't drive for the next 4 hours
Posted by: Buffalo Bill | January 10, 2011 at 08:35 AM
BUFFALO , ME SAYING THAT GARRET WIL GET THE JOB OF OC HAS NO THING TO DO W / HOW I FEEL ABOUT HIM .
JOSH MACDANIEL'S PRICE WENT WAY UP SINCE PITT AND KANSAS CITY LOSSES,THEY BOTH ARE FRUAD .
P.S....... SPARANO WILL NOT AGREE TO HIRE ANY ONE WHO'S HC MATARIEL ,THAT'S WHY IN THE NEW CONTRACT HE HAS A SAY IN PERSONAL .
Posted by: ALoco | January 10, 2011 at 08:36 AM
Priority is still a better running game (so OL and RB) and speed on the outside. Nothing makes a QB better than second and short, and soft coverage.
Posted by: Chuck P | January 10, 2011 at 08:38 AM
I don't know about that P4L, Joe Rose sure doesn't look like the second coming of Bill Gates. Another point. How do you know who posts in these Blogs? Apart from the ones who post with our real names, they could easily be Shula, Marino, BP, others who know football and its history deeply. I tell you, I have read some posts here that.......
Posted by: oscar canosa | January 10, 2011 at 08:39 AM
Bill, what does it say about your franchise when you see how inept the Dolphins franchise is, yet, they're STILL better than Buffalo? LOL. Actually, we should be thanking you dude. Thanks for always showing us there's much worse than Miami in the NFL!
Posted by: DC Dolfan | January 10, 2011 at 08:43 AM
@Oscar, you are so right,I could be Jim Kelly for all you know.

Good Morning DC Dumbfin, last 3 games Bills 2 Fins 1
Posted by: Buffalo Bill | January 10, 2011 at 08:51 AM
Too bad Miami has so many offensive needs, cause Asomugha is exactly the caliber talent we need in the secondary! A CB that can catch.
Posted by: DC Dolfan | January 10, 2011 at 08:52 AM
What was your record again this year Bill? Oh, right, thought so! Tell me when you get out of the AFC East cellar, then we'll talk.

marc , did you take your drugs today ?

The Drew Brees, the Chad Penningtons, the Aaron Rodgers, yeah, get somebody like that.
Posted by: oscar canosa | January 10, 2011 at 08:59 AM
Chuck, we've had a top 5 run game in the league, still didn't matter. Priority is the same as the day Marino left, a credible QB. Until Miami is serious about fixing that, we'll be talking here postseason instead of in the Playoffs.
Posted by: DC Dolfan | January 10, 2011 at 09:01 AM
I would just ssume we get Ryan Leaf.
Posted by: Tony Sparano is no Tony Soprano | January 10, 2011 at 09:02 AM
MIKE SHULA ,
DON SHULA'S SON WILL BE INTERVIEWED FOR THE OC JOB BY THE DOLPHINS.
HE'S THE QB COACH AS OF NOW FOR JAGUARS .
Posted by: ALoco | January 10, 2011 at 09:03 AM
@DC Dolfin, at least we lost games trying to win, unlike you, who played not to lose. Now that is a fact you can not deny.
Posted by: Buffalo Bill | January 10, 2011 at 09:04 AM
All things being equal, the better your QB can read defenses the more wins you are going to have.
Posted by: oscar canosa | January 10, 2011 at 09:05 AM
OH LOOK,I GUESS THE GANG OF DEFEET IS WAKING UP,DC IS HERE AND SO IS MARK.YOU ALL PROBABLY WAN THE HEYENA COHWER AS YOUR LEADER.
Posted by: jeff | January 10, 2011 at 09:06 AM
You're right about that Bill. But our coach just got publicly humiliated for his conservative coaching style. I doubt you'll see that in 2011.
I guess only suggestion I have for you is...try harder!
Posted by: DC Dolfan | January 10, 2011 at 09:09 AM
Look, you just cannot disregard the opinions of Fans most specially those that followed the Team since Joe Auer's return.

jeff, you sound (and look) eerily like ALoco. Even using the same language.
Actually hotshot, I'm on to the next. I didn't want Sparano, but he ain't goin' nowhere. He's here for the time being, so I'm moving forward with what the team can do to improve IN SPITE OF my distaste for the current leadership.
Just like I move forward responding to you IN SPITE OF your terrorism of grammatically-appropriate English language.

Sign Vince Young, Mercedes lewis, and reggie bush if his contract isnt too expenisve----you would of then added firepower to offense----
You could still draft a QB if someone drops to us in a round---but i think vince young is def at least 3 to 4 games better then chad henne----we can make playoffs with vince young---i think that is all sparano has on his mind
