Dolphins' ridiculous order of business continues

If you listen to my radio show or follow me on twitter, you know what's coming next: Cue the circus music. Send in the clowns.

Are you ready for this?

You probably know by know several reports, including this one in The Miami Herald, are saying the Dolphins have decided to retain Tony Sparano as Miami's head coach. Awesome! I've been advocating that all along quite forcefully, I believe.

But I have no issues that owner whatshisface has sampled the market to see if he could find an upgrade at coach. Nothing wrong with that. I have, however, a distaste for the manner that was done. And today that distaste grows.

The fact is that while sources within the team and close to owner whatshisface have leaked to various media the fact Sparano was to be retained, I know that no one told Sparano this.

Think about that ...

So the sources are telling the media. But they are not telling the principle person involved most affected by the news.

Stunning. Embarrassing. More embarrassing, actually. Head-scratching.

I do know there is a meeting planned for today between ownership and Sparano. I don't know when or where, but I assume the purpose is to break the news to Sparano that was broken first to the media.

One can assume Sparano will come out of this meeting the head coach of the Dolphins. But I cannot guarantee that. Who knows what other things owner whatshisface has up his sleeve and might want to spring on his coach.

And who knows if Sparano, hung out to dry the last four days while the Dolphins chased other coaches across the country, might not agree to be retained.

Strange? Thy name is the Miami Dolphins in January 2011.

Does anyone get the feeling the Dolphins reporters are just bitter they arent being filled in?

So many "A source of a source said a source said its not going to happen"

Getting old. I want news, not some guess or assumption based on the lack of info you get from the team.

On one hand you are whining about rooney rule, next you are saying the deals all done because they came back without harbaugh. So, which is it? Did he come back cause he didint get harbaugh, or was it because he cant offer him a deal yet cause of rooney?

Sounds like a bunch of bs guesses

Jason Cole just said the world is flat. The King of Accurate Reporting strikes again!!

A sourc is a sourc a sourc of course!!! HuhuhuhuWhilber!

Huff Hufff MR. Ed

sorry missed the (E)s

Ross from the show Friends is buying the team and hiring Rush LimBAUGH as the Coach!

Hoooray Beer!

next seasons press confrerence, so tony what do you think about chad hennes 3 interceptions? sparano- other than the 3 interceptions and the fact that we lost the game, he seemed to play pretty well and did some good things out there today. FU$KING LOSERS!

Ok, fine, to all the Henne bashers we get it, to all the supporters like me, you all get it.

Lets get to the most pressing point.

WE NEED A GOOD AND SOLID O-LINE.

If we have that this all turns around, even if I am QB.

Joe,

I noticed him sticking his nose in there more towards the end of the season as well.

I was more commenting on the way carries himself. I remember Walter Payton and some of the runs you made and at the end would just hand the ball to the official and not say a word. He always praised his teammates and I don't ever recall him taking credit for hisself.

With that being said, I guess I'm more old school and would prefer guys to just do it the way Walter did. I know times have changed and would definitely be able to see past the arrogance if Smith continues to grow and is successful for us.

WOW! Add salt to the wound..Harbaugh went to SF for 5 mil per year. What does that say about Ross and Co.?

MR.ROSS LOOKS LIKE A FOOL ,DON'T KNOW HOW TO RUN A SPORT ORGANIZATION , DON'T COUNT ON ME TO SIT ON THE STANDS :(

If there's a humorous side to this, Tony Sparano is head coach because nobody else would take the job!

GO TONY!!!!!!!!!

THE FINS TITANIC HAS ALREADY SUNK SOME TIME AGO ,NOW WE NEED TO RESCUE IT FROM THE DEEP BY GETTING MR ROSS A GOOD SPORT ADVISOR TO DIRECT HIM TO MAKING GOOD DECISIONS AND DON'T LOOSE ALL THE FANS IN MIAMI ;)

Armando, in reality though Sparano is under contract for 2011 so he already knows he's being retained. Until he hears that he's fired, he's supposed to be working as he's under contract until 2011. So why tell him anything if they aren't doing anything?

THREE STOOGES CLOWNS ARE LIVING IN MIAMI AS :MR .ROSS, IRELAND AND SPARANO :)

The guy lost 7 games at home.

If T.S. had any dignity (which I predict he doesn't) he would quit and move on from this Circus Like Organization. My bet is that he won't and the 'Phins have now becomed the Miami Bungles.

My sadness is even more pronounced since I now live in Atlanta and both the Dolphins and Falcons were at similar crossroads 3 years ago and I though then that we had more upside than them as an organization, yet the Falcons are the #1 Seed in the NFC and the Phinsters are still running the ridiculous wild cat offense and positioning themselves to have terrible after even more horrible seasons in the years to come!

Good Job Mr. Rossi McSucks!

Harbaugh is coming to Miami the Rooney rule keeps that quiet if Saprano quits Ross doesn't have to pay him for 2011 season.

This team is losing me - I have been a fan since the mid-70's but I can't stand the endless stupidity of this franchise. In fact, a work stoppage might be a good thing for fans of a team this stupid.

This team will never win a Super Bowl. In fact, they aren't even going to one anytime while I am still alive. What a disgusting pile of puke the Dolphins have become.

Harbaugh, not worthy, Cowher was best hire at this point in time.... Sparano, like a wife, cheaper to keep her, instead of a divorce....

Ross was disgusted as we all are. He reacted prematurely, but Harbaugh wasnt the answer any way. Gruden or Cowher is what this team needs. A kick ass, punch you in the mouth mentallity needs to be installed into this panzy of a team. Sporano- good guy, but clueless come game day!
