Dolphins re-sign OL Richie Incognito

The Dolphins weren't just sleepwalking Thursday as uncertainty about the NFL's labor issues caused teams to do last-minute business with free agents.

The club re-signed offensive lineman Richie Incognito to a three-year deal, according to a source. The source declined to specify the contract's worth.

Incognito thus completes a successful rehabilitation after he came to the Dolphins on a one-year deal for 2010 with the warning that if he stepped out of line -- as he had in St. Louis and in college previously -- he might not only find himself done with the Dolphins but out of the NFL altogether.

Incognito was Miami's best interior blocker, particularly on running plays, and his signing gives the Dolphins the versatility of keeping him at either right or left guard, where he played most of last season, or moving him to center in 2011. Incognito started 15 games at left guard despite the fact he's probably a more natural right guard. He started one game at center in place of Joe Berger who was injured and also was dealing with personal issues in Week 16.

The Dolphins also tendered Nate Garner, meaning the player who played all but one offensive line position in 2009 and was competing to start at left guard in 2010 when he got injured in training camp, will remain Miami property in 2011.

Dolphins rule !!! Omar drools.

Nixon resigned.

Good move. With him and Long we've got two good guys at least. We now need good play from Carey and Jerry and need some other guys to step up.

YAY.........

Now lets take him of the sedatives and let him be the BIG NASTY he was meant to be.......

bring some attitude to the FINS

Excellent news, Mando. Omar Kelly said this wasn't going to happen after he wrote it was going to happen. I guess he has to write it did happen. Confusing he is.

I am a retard troll. I also like little boys.

Nice to see mandouche gets on here. Now quit hiding

solid move finally

For the past year the score for this FO is 1 - 28.

1 thing right
28 things wrong

At least its no longer a shut out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HePTmrV-og

I would like to see five geese on a trampouline.

This is good news and all but isn't there any other news or inside info as to what our FO clowns are doing Mando?

Bob Sanders signed with the Chargers. Good to see he didn't end up in San Diego.

One thing I admire about Rex Ryan, he is in a WIN RIGHT NOW MODE. This FO is in a 'lets win sometime in the future' mode.

To make an odd analogy, this FO reminds me of Hillary Clinton. Had she ran for pres against Bush after his first term, she had way more mojo going and less competition, she had her best chance then. Yet she waited patiently for the future, thinking her shot would be much better when Bush couldn't run again. She forgot to consider, your value today may not be your value 4 years from now. Along comes more competition and all of a sudden Hillary couldn't muster up much enthusiasm for her campaign, and lost. (By the way, just an analogy please don't infer any of my political leanings from this).

Moral of the story? The time is NOW. Rex gets it, Hillary, and our FO, don't. Two AFC title games in your first two years and one Hillary devasting loss is proof of the pudding.

Mandouche

Not a bad analogy with Hillary but things turned out OK for her. Brilliant woman and an outstanding Secretary of State. She may yet run again for prez in 2016.

0x80,

Let's see how the Jets make out going forward. They have a ton of free agents this year and they just franshised their linebacker Harris. On top of all that I believe Sanchez counts $14 million against the cap this year. On top of all that they've given up multiple picks to bring in guys like Cromartie who is a free agent now too. I'm of the opinion that their window for success might be closing but let's see how it plays out.

Craig, lets see how it plays out. Let's see if we can beat 3rd place in our division in 2011.

To bad I haven't won anything but don't let that FACT get in the way of your useless arguement 0 x 0

oxen: a dim plow beast. It can't begin to phantom right from wrong, until a drover consistantly weilds a brutal whip.

You can talk a donkey up a steep, and staddle stride a thoughbreed at the Downs', but OX are simply too retarded an animal to expect anything more than slavory.

X 80...

hehe-

Fair enough 0x80.

Guys, Shockey had never played a full season in his career and missed 10 games over the last three years with NO. It's a strange move a 31 year old guy, broken down, going to last place team. Tells me he didn't have any other option. With all that being said, I still might have look to use him in tandem with Fasano.

Funny how some people are too fearful of reality, can't accept the accomplishments of their rivals, and can't even type there own name. Sheep afraid of giving their honest opinion.

Browns re-signed Senecca Wallace to a THREE year contract today. Strange move! What is it that Holmgren sees in that guy? Brought him with him from Seattle to the Brown and now signed up for another 3 years. The guy never plays and I don't think he's that good but Holmgren obviously likes him. Strange move!

I agree to some of what your saying. "Fat Boy with a Foot Fetish" may be in "Win Now" Mode as you put it... and it may create an opportunity for him to jump up an grab a SB. Or should I say... It DID create TWO opportunities for him to jump up and grab a SB win. Where I split with his methodology is what he must do after each one of these "All or Nothing " Runs he makes.
I believe there are several ways of getting it done, (winning it all)... I like the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriot Approach best. And I think Miami is TRYING to mimic it, but without Dick Lebeau (don't get me wrong, I like Nolan)... Keith Butler, Sean Kugler, Kirby Wilson and some of those dudes who have been with the Rooney's since politics made sence... its gonna be tough.
But building a club from the Lines up to a solid QB under center, Keeping players who are valuable to the system and letting others slide away, letting the veterans develop the Rookies and youngsters to THE SYSTEM instead of an endless string of "Super Coaches" or just coaching replacements... building continuity and team chemistry over that whole process. That keeps team relevant for YEARS... Once you pay enough dues and get your team close to that model.... every damn off season is not a sweaty faced race to plug holes and replace One "One Year Wonder" after the next or trying to keep $$$BIG$$$ FA who who were there to help "GET IT ALL OR NOTHING!!!" just long enough to make me chose to pay up or let him go...

I'll tell ya without much worry about being wrong, Fat Boy has played that game (all or nothing) two years straight... It is going to take its toll... watch and see. The Jests will have 2 big years with 1 or 2 "get it back together" years... Doing that crap over and over that will be what they are about as long as they play the "Now or Never" game and do not build the team with depth and continuity.

The Steelers...? The Patriots...? And one or two other perinnial play-off teams who play the long term game... They will be there year after year... And to be honest... I cannot stand a damn flash in the pan... Would I take a 1 year wonder SB team...??? Damn straight! Who wouldn't...? But honestly I don't want to be called a "Fluke" Because if Miami were to somehow jump up and win a SB this year... That is EXACTLY what they would call us... and they would be right! I want our team to look like one of those teams who belong where they are... Not some yearly circus that comes to town with a different goofy acts to run at you in the 3 rings every time you see them.

Just the way I see it.... That's all......

Derek, I'll take two seasons of knocking on the door over 10 years with no playoff win any day of the week.

I agree this FO is 'trying' to do it the right way, to build a long term solid winner for the future. I'm just not convinced they know how to do it.

I will say this, I have ZERO faith in Sparano as the head coach. I think he is a joke. I know he can't even speak English. I don't think he will ever have another HC job again in the NFL. If Ricky and Jason Taylor were speaking out against him, well thats both ends of the spectrum. He is in over his head. Ireland I am willing to give a little more time to. If Ross was looking, no doubt Parcells probably had lost in faith in Sparano as well, nope, I don't know that, but just a guess.

JEFF IRELAND MADE THE RIGHT MOVE BY NOT SIGNING AN AGING PLAYER LIKE SHOCKEY WHO WANT'S TO RETIRE ON ROSS'S MONEY .

Ox60, 70 80, no matter...

You dont even pretend a worthy stance by our team as it stands today. Freakin' gloom and doom.

Get off your band-wagon of treachery and defeat, ox...

Henne will toss 4,000 + yards tis next season.

I will throw over 40,000 to my 10 year old son, as we brag...not cry

DEREK,

MERCY,ON US WITH THESE NICE LONG LONG POSTS

0x80,

i was afraid to SAY YOU R BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE GANG OF DEFEAT AND CHOSE NOT TO SAY ANY THING OUT OF MY RESPECT TO YOU BUT THEN Marooed on a deserted island said it before me .

HENNE WILL SHOCK THE WORLD NEXT YEAR

Derek really good post at 10:42pm. I feel the same about the Jets. Look at what's gone on so far this off-season with them: Gone already are Woody, Taylor, Jenkins and Gholston and FA's to be are Edwards, Holmes, Smith, Cromartie and I'm sure I'm missing some. On top of that, apparently they are bringing back a 31 year old LT for another season. It's my belief that they've peaked and they've missed there chance. It's awfully tough to do what they did two years in a row. It's going to be next to impossible for them to do that THREE years in a row. But let's see how it plays out and then guys can tell me I'm wrong.

Marooned...not sure where you are coming from or what you really want to say. Being a fan doesn't mean simply riding the band wagon no matter what they force feed down your throat.

Sparano is an idiot. Just listen to him speak. Not remotely qualified to be HC, least qualified in the league. He has proven time and again to be an absolute idiot on game day.

Henne can throw for 9000 yards, won't change my opinion of Sparanos lack of competence. I am talking about leadership, which starts at the top. Sparano is a shoe salesman.

0x80,

your words carry a lot of weight ON THIS BLOG ,SO PLEASE SOME NICE THINGS ABOUT HENNE .

HEVENS TO BETSY THESE ARE LONG POSTS. FASANO THE GORILA WILL HAVE HIS JOB THIS YEAR HE WILL BE RELESED FROM APE CITY JAIL TO PLAY AND SHOKEY WILL FALL DOWN IN FRIRST GAME AND LAY THERE UNTIL THE ABULANCE COMES.

Aloco, whether you agree with me or not, I always welcome your honest opinion, without hiding behind a fake name like some of the other frightened sheep on the blog.

Mike Sims-Walker cut by the Jags today and is apparently done there. This will be an intrguing guys for the Dolphins to look at. Good deep threat and might be a nice compliment to Marshall. This guy will be someone to keep an eye on.

GRAIG M ,

PLEASE DON'T INCOURAGE DEREK TO WRITE MORE LONG LONG POSTS .

THANK YOU 0X80 WHAT DO YOPU THINK ABOUT GORILA FASANO

0x80 ,

i never hide behind any names .

p.s ..look at that guy who's faking me @ 11;14,still i like him b/c he never goes dirty .

another fake me @ 11;16

Aloco, there are a lot of great bloggers here. For some reason, a few take it as a personal offense if you criticize the team or what they say. This is a forum to exchange ideas, not for everyone to hold hands and agree the Miami Dolphins can go 7-9 forever and we will be content with that.

fake me @ 11:15 too.

FASANO THE GORILA MUST HAVE JUMP AND EAT A BARELL OF BANANAS TODAY WHEN SHOKEY SIGNED.

i just came back from work and we had about few young PEOPLE hired this week and they all listen to rap music ,i had to tell them TO turn this music off or you will be gone in few days and they listened ,i told them if the owner hear this music you will be fired ,they believed me .

NOW I DIDN'T HEAR THAT CRAP ALL DAY .LOL

Incognito, great I love that guy!

Now Ireland can implement his 2011 draft strategy in full force.

It's very similar to last years Starks/Odrick strategy.

Ireland is nobody's fool for not signing Shockey. It has been his intention all along to get Incognito resigned and switched out to TE. Yeah, I know, you're thinking WHAT? Just remember, you heard it here first.

Get this, THAT's not even the good part. Moving Cognito out to TE creates room for our 15th pick of the first round-YEAH BABY-YOU GUESSED IT-Florida States very own G/C Rodney Hudson!!!!

Two holes plugged and it only costs 1 first round pick-BAM! Ole Jeffy's a little more wily than ya'll thought now, aint he.

Of course most experts have Rodney pegged as a late 2nd rounder, but Jeffy heard from some very reliable sources that Belichek thinks very highly of Mr. Hudson!

FAKE ALOCO, you have the floor BUT MAKE SURE THEY R FUNNY POSTS .

0X80, AGREE WITH YOUR LAST POST @ 11.21 PM

OX, If you are unsure of what I am trying to say, even after bluntly posting it over the millenium, that is a sign of alheimerz, or drunkered.

Not that I care if that be your faults.

I really treasure your last posting addressed to me, that totally changed subject from "force fed" player to FO. I am no dim-witt, and see immediately when a numb-skull concedes,

Largly by the sudden turn of subject, plow on that acre, OX-

Go dude, bring everyone down and hating...

0x80,

Wow, I mean, you know, a guy could ah, well get his, those, what I really mean is, MINE, I could, you know get my, ah, mine feelings hurt.

Could you back it easy ah, I mean take it, yeah easy on the lang....lang.....the eng.....eng......aw jesus.......the talking stuff.

Ya know????

Gulf, it appears you are Marooned as well. How many other names do you have?

Just to confirm your hypothesis. Yes I have alzheimers (you can't even spell that can you?), I'm always drunk, and I have leprosy.

0x80,

I think that Coach SpOrano is one of those frightened sheep you speak of.

I just wish people would use their real sign in names-(snicker-snicker)!

odinseye aLWAYS BEEN NICE TO ALL PEOPLE WITH HIS MUSIC WHICH MAKES HIM AT PEACE WITH HIMSELF .

MARIA PLAYS EVER NIGHT FOR ME WITH HER GETAR

Odin...Yep, you got that right. Also notice Gulf @ 11:32 and Marooned 11:02 are the same person. He blew it, forgot to change his name again! I'm guessing he will create a brand new name now.

ALoco,

Tell Maria I said Hello and I hope all is well.

You have been on fire lately. I think about Ireland and get all frustrated. Then I read your stuff and have the best laughs of the day.

You hit the nail on the head and I hope you will be at peace with yourself as well.

NOT LIKE THAT BROWN DONKEY HOMES!!!!

Bottoms Up!!!!

0x80,

They always slip up sooner or later.

I always use my regular sign in name. Well, except for very rare occasions. Like above when I signed under Coach SpOrano-LOL.

In my defense, THE ONLY TIMES I have done that was to try and be funny. NEVER with personal attacks. If I get sideways enough to call somebody out, you can bet I'm going to let them know it's me.

I don't understand the HIDING behind fake sign in names, but, to each their own.

ValHalla!!!!

Odin..there are a handful of regular bloggers that don't always see eye to eye, but they call each other out face to face, with their regular sigon. Thats cool. Some take it in stride, others get heated over it, but at least they have the courage to either stand up for their position or open themselves up for debate and maybe change their mind later. Then, there are the frightened sheep, who probably come and go with ever changing signons.

Incognito, good move.....Effing dolphins, letting Shockey go! They continue to make foolish decisions...why, Shockey, lives down here, went to the U of M, this is home, playing for the Fins would be a motivating factor, he would have added depth and experience to one of our weakest positions.....I think Shockey at the price, would be great! But that's one man's opinion, the dolphins have a track record of passing up good players....just my opinion, it means nothing!

Odin...I think that Incognito would be better served moved to wide reciever. I think that is Irelands real plan. Now we have that position covered we don't have to worry about drafting one. Chalk one up for Ireland.

Aloco, I now directly address you. I occasionaly post kudos, and have thrown you a few bones... only 'cause you make good sense once in a blue moon.

Why have I typed to you this moment? Because short of the rambling recipies, etc, you clearly give this franchize the benifit of doubt.`

You are one of the more noble fan. Some here post nonsense.

I can say with conviction that MIAMI they go to the SB, if not this year Not likely without shock-facter,

SHOCKEY SIGNS ONE YEAR WITH CAROLINA WORTH 2.8 MILLION. HE WAS LOOKING FOR 3 YEAR DEAL WITH MIAM BUT JEFF THE SMART SNEAK WON'T LET HIM GET TO ROSS' MONEY TO RETIRE ON .

GULF ARE YOU DRUNK YOU ARE NOT MAKING SENSE.

FAKE ALoco @ 12;15pm.

gulfDOLPHIN,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS,I AM SURE WE WILL BE IN THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR,WE WILL BE WAY BETTER AT HOME GAMES,WE REVERSE THE 1-7 FROM LAST YEAR .
