Dolphins re-sign OL Richie Incognito

The Dolphins weren't just sleepwalking Thursday as uncertainty about the NFL's labor issues caused teams to do last-minute business with free agents.

The club re-signed offensive lineman Richie Incognito to a three-year deal, according to a source. The source declined to specify the contract's worth.

Incognito thus completes a successful rehabilitation after he came to the Dolphins on a one-year deal for 2010 with the warning that if he stepped out of line -- as he had in St. Louis and in college previously -- he might not only find himself done with the Dolphins but out of the NFL altogether.

Incognito was Miami's best interior blocker, particularly on running plays, and his signing gives the Dolphins the versatility of keeping him at either right or left guard, where he played most of last season, or moving him to center in 2011. Incognito started 15 games at left guard despite the fact he's probably a more natural right guard. He started one game at center in place of Joe Berger who was injured and also was dealing with personal issues in Week 16.

The Dolphins also tendered Nate Garner, meaning the player who played all but one offensive line position in 2009 and was competing to start at left guard in 2010 when he got injured in training camp, will remain Miami property in 2011.

No doubt about it, beerphin(about Henne). See, those are the things that make me go, HHmmmm....

But they have a new quality control Coach, I believe related to Sparano. And that is a good thing.

Beerphin, I mentioned Henne stunk it up in preseason last year....I took a beating from you guys for saying that! You all acted like he was some sort of second coming of a god!

Dying, did you bring home any pharmaceuticals? Lol!

The season will be a go, cba will be resolved, sparano will be done by week 10.

Farley granger you're right! We ARE optimistic! Any team can win on any given day regardless of circumstances or ability. We just have to do that more often than any other team. So what's the problem?

redsky... no problem at all, just comments, observations.

I see you are very objective, mr.granger, but not very perceptive.

oscar, only fools think they are percptive. what we think we perceive today isn't always what we would perceive tomorrow.

All these little sketches about Vince Lombardi that I sometimes write are straight out of Jerry Kramer's excellent book, Instant Replay. Check it out.

And People want to come and Conspire in Miami, FL. HeHe.

Do you ever question why you are fans of grown beastly men fighting to take an air filled ball over a line? What does it mean? Why do you care? Don't all the players really win with their huge salaries while the fans slave 50 weeks a year until they are 65?

That's exactly what Jerry Kramer was wondering at some moment(applied to himself as a player).

Check it out.

craig m you are a moron. actually henne will make $555,000 in 2011 so i don't know where you get your information from. so you have no credibility to speak of. second, the dolphins know what they have in henne, which is nothing. who cares if henne is riding around with ross in a golf cart. all he was doing is carrying his clubs, just like he will be carrying a clip board on the sideline next year.

Rob in Oc..@ 6:34...Great post. That is good as it gets.

I'm glad to see you know Tawain Jones. Everyone knows that I live and die Montana Griz football. I have seen Jones twice in person. He is by far the best player I have ever seen at the FCS level. If he didn't suffer an injury he would be a top ten prospect. If he stayed in school, he may have been top 5 next year. He can return kicks as well. This kid is the best player coming out of the FCS this year and it isn't close. This says a lot from me because EWU is like the jets to the Griz.

@ 2:18..When I say top ten, or top five. I meant by position. This kid is incredible.

I have been drinking heavily tonight. This should not dis-credit my evaluation of Mr. Jones. While we are at it. I hope that someone takes a look at Chase Reynolds. He broke every rushing record at Montana(held by Lex Hilliard) But he did it in 3 years...

Not a bad interview with Mike Dee elsewhere in today's Herald. He's clearly an intelligent guy and didn't shy away from some of the meatier questions.

Got to admit he also made some compelling points about stadium improvements. We don't often think in terms of 30 years in the future, but he was laying it all out pretty logically.

Made me feel a bit better about the IQ level in Davie. There IS some significant brainpower there looking to get things right.

Read the interview if you haven't done so yet.

FEE FI FO FUM I SMELL THE BLOD OF THE GANG OIF DEFEAT. THEY WILL SIT ALL DAY ON THERE CHAIRS WHIOLE I PAY THERE TAXES AND COOK MEAT BALLS FOR SANDWICHSES.

HENNE WILL PASS FOR MANY YARDS AND COMPLETONS WHILE THEY ARE IN APE CITY JAIL WITH THE HYNEA COWHER AND NAKED DRUNK OPHRAH WINFRY WITH NOMORE RUM ANBD WAITING FOR THERE TRIAL

MAKING COFFEE WITH NUT MEG THIS MORNING. IT IS DELICOS

I Gave around 230 shots at the pharmacy where i work yesterday .i am known to be gentle when i give shots with my needle .

I would totally get some of you guys off (non fat ones) with a hot massage in the shower followed by some serious bedroom action. You'd be on the phone begging for more within a week guaranteed

the front office and coaches need to prove themselves first. they can blame the players later. i'm afraid ireland and sparano arent up to NFL standards especially in talent evaluations. they should be watching how bellichek's pats do it. soliai should have been signed during last season but now 12 million???? when we might have signed a shaun rogers or maybe kris jenkins.

greg z, kris jenkins was lost for the season in 2009 due to a serious knee surgury, came back in 2010 and injured the same knee in the very first game, sat out the entire season. most likely his career is over, if not, he is no more durable than penne at this point.

dolphin77,

You said "Henne will never make more than $500,000 in a season. Tyler Thigpen makes more. Henne is a back-up'. REALLY?.....would LOVE to know where you get your stats. In 2010, Henne made $950,000, which last I checked was more than $500,000. Thigpen on the other hand made $465,000, which last I checked was less than $950,000 or less than Henne made. Might want to check your stats before flapping your gums bigmouth!!.....MORON!!....

Any else you want to talk about genius?....

And befor guys jump all over me, yes, I may have inadvertently posting 2009's salaries. The argument still holds however.

Good signing in making incognito a fixture here. Hopefully he can stay healthy and John Jerry can develope. Our line should be good with one more free agent addition to the starting lineup, and maybe get some depth in the draft. We cant afford to draft a OL early in this draft, so we have to find answer outside of that.

'I may have given you completely wrong information, but disregard that important fact.'

Here's Mr. Dish-douche coming in from the cheap seats!! God knows he's always got something of value to bring to the table.

just saying craig m. look it it up buddy! if you read anything else other than the hearld it will tell you. do somemore research first.

dolphin77,

Not even able to admit he was wrong in what he said, namely that Henne wouldn't make $500,000 and that Thigpen makes more. Big surprise that he couldn't be man enough to admit his surprise.

mistake
