Dolphins player workouts continue this week

I got a bit of a chuckle recently when media outlets around the country reported Bill Parcells is no longer with the Dolphins. Um, he hasn't been with the Dolphins since late October.

I also had to smile when I read that Dolphins players began working out today. Um, that's been happening for a couple of weeks as well and, like the Parcells thing, it really isn't news, either.

To that point, check out the video below filmed by Herald reporter Jeff Darlington. It chronicles the work receivers Davone Bess and Roberto Wallace and other NFL and CFL hopefuls are doing to get bigger, stronger, faster, and ultimately, better.

Brandon Marshall has been training for six weeks. Six weeks!

No, none of the work is happening at the Dolphins training facility in Davie, FL. The players are locked out and so they are not welcome at the training facility. But they are working out at various gyms and workout facilities throughout South Florida.

He's been under the guidance of Fit Speed Sports Performance in Fort Lauderdale. He was recently joined for a workout by Mike Sims-Walker, which has led to rumors the free agenct receiver recently cut loose by the Jacksonville Jaguars, might be trying to make a pitch to Miami's top receiver for a good word with Miami's front office.

I get the feeling Marshall would gladly put in that good work for Sims-Walker.

As you check out the video, notice Bess. He's not the skinny undrafted free agent out of Hawaii any more. The kid has some serious bulk on him these days, moreso than he had even at the end of last season.

CraigM,

If I were a betting man I would say it was an original ALO_CON_US mock draft. But Im not going to go there because I cant prove it. Hoever I do have my suspicions! LOL...........

That was a pretty good workout. Buuuuuutttttt, get the lines in their before they eat everything in the house.

0x80 @5:22,

Funny how it always turns out that way, year after year yet everybody always bites hook line and sinker

ALL BE WITNESS ...THAT GUY WILL NOT LEAVE ME ALONE.THE SABOTAGE GUY .

ALoco.....I don't think so.....I did however engage in a childish back and forth.....but I learn from my mistakes.....

Those who know me on this site know I don't go looking for trouble...but if it finds me I have a hard time walking away......

They know I don't intentionally start drama....but I can be baited in to endless circles of useless banter that serves no purpose.....

By the time I realize I have wasted my keystrokes on an unreasonable person.....i look pretty silly.....

We all have our vice's..

When 2 people ARGUE in print...their is rarely a clare winner...but there often are 2 fools

If we grab Mallett at 15...I will be the happiest FIN FAN....in DOLPHINS NATION.....

Ofcourse argument is much differnt than debate.....

0x80,

That's what makes me think Bellichek isn't interested in Ingram. That would too transparent. I also don't think the Giants are interested in him. too many other needs. Their offensive line needs work and their LBers aren't great.

This guys is being taken to task for his mock. He has Locker going to Washington at 10 but he's taking the most abuse for our pick, even by those that like Ponder.

clare=clear

kris,

i never FIGHT .THAT guy DOESN'T LIKE ME TO COUNTER HIS POINTS WHICH HE THINKS ID HOLY AND ALL OTHERS ARE HERE TO READ HIS POSTS.

NEVER THE LESS,ALL HIS FAKING WILL NOT DO HIM GOOD FOR I ENJOY READING YOU GUYS .

The whole premise of doing a mock draft, is well, a mockery. Looking beyond the first 5 picks is futile. From there there are just way too many variables between unexpected players dropping, teams trading up, ect. This is why I don't even bother to do a mock, how can you have any conviction the guy you want in rd 3 will still be there or someone you liked better won't fall to you?

Many of us have been at it fiercely over who to pick at 15 or what to do with a trade down, but as I've said, it's really nothing more than an excercise in futility until we know for sure where we are picking and more importantly know who is still on the board. It would be nice if they could freeze the draft for 24 hours when they got to our pick so we'd have a field day tearing each other up about who to take!

KRIS,

I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE HATED ONE LAST WEEK .

Aloco.....not to bring up ols sh*t.....but some of my issues from last week stemed from YOU impostering me.....

Don't think that just because I am posting to you I forgot...or i didn't know....IT WAS YOU.....

And while you insulted DB and Fin4Life among others using my name.....I am sure it has all been sorted out by now because your antics came to a head this weekend with everyone calling you....Its not like we ALL didn't know it was YOU before.....but for some reason this weekend you pushed everyone over the edge.....it was like a slow building revolution......

Maybe if Gulf Dolphin was paying attention he will understand better how this blog works.....

kris,

you r dreaming of you think so , you always accuse any one on the site that daylike the cuban menace who fake me every day and i don't any saying any thing about it ,,,

"Small amounts" of Radiation from Japan has reached Baltimore.....and the Local news says everything is A-OK....not to worry....don't monitor it yoursel...and the water is safe to drink.....

When they say don't panic......

DC.....it must be heading your way.....

I may be dead in a week...lol

0x80,

Peter King talked today about ten mocks he looked at had 9 different top 5's and 4 of them had different number on guys. I think this season more than any other I can remember is loaded with potential busts. Of course there will always be guys who who fulfil and guys who surprise but I see an awful lot of question marks this year. Guys like Fairley and Bowers have dropped in recent days and weeks. I think it's a good year to be 'safe'.

I`ve been looking over posts and see alot of debate as to whether Q.B.`s are really all there advertised to be or a product of sound Coaching and even better schemes that play to there strengths. I think it`s a combination of both as goos as Aaron Rodgers is, he`s helped by one hell of an O minded coach in Mcarthey on down thru his Ofensive assistants. I for one wanted Miami to wait until after the S.B. to interview G.B.`s Q.B. Coach. After all the man worked under Mcarthey, learned from having a B.Favre and tutored Rodgers for the last 5 seasons, I wonder what kind of a difference a coach like that could do for Henne.

Then there are coaches that put there repective stamp on there teams in other ways, love him or hate him Rex Ryan is one of the best young coaches in the game today, don`t expect him to roll over and play dead, he`s proven to understand today`s player to the extent that alot will take less to play for him. I don`t think it`s a fluke either that he`s taken N.Y. to the AFC. Champ game 2 years running. When he played the Pats late in the reg. season he didn`t show his hand by throwing any new looks at Brady he waited till the post season figuring he`d see him again. To me he`s a brilliant strategist apart from the great scheme`s he devises.

I say that with a heavy heart I absolutely want to beat the Jets every year. I grew up as a kid watching Gastineu and his rediculous sack dance, it`s why I personally take acception with Parcells, how is it that he comes out on ESPN and says that he recommended Ryan to Jets GM Tannenbaum in 09, while regularly taking Rex`s calls for advise !! Wasn`t he under contract to us and if he felt so strongly why isn`t Rex our Coach ? I could go on and on for about 3 pages by myself, still haven`t talked Bellichek, Noll, Landry and the king of kings Shula. So yeah you can`t win without great players but never underestimate a great coach, IMHO.

fin4, to this day I am totally baffled why Parcells didn't take Rex Ryan for HC. In his own words 'Ryan is one of the very few that truly get it'. I think its safe to say Sparanderthal doesn't get it. He is still trying to figure out what Belichek did to him last year, or maybe he doesn't even realize what happened yet.

Craig M, my money is on Ireland outsmarting himself rather than the other GM's this year.

DC...I could be DEAD WRONG......let me reseach that further...I caught the tail end of the news broadcast.....

kris. iT STRIKES ME YOU DON'T HAVE THAT STRONG PERSONALITY ,YOU R AFRID OF THE MAFIA BOSS,I HAD TO WORK THE WHOLE WEEKEND WHICH OPENED THE DOOR FOR HIM TO FAKE ME WITHOUT LIMIT ...STILL YOU LIKE TO PLEASE PEOPLE ON a blog .

Fin,

your point about waiting til after the superbowl to hire a offensive coordinator is a good one. I too wanted the Dolphins to wait and I am not happy with Dabol. Why not interview the coaches who have been successful?

But I'm not happy with Mr FG either so I will just have to wait until Ross finally cans his ass and we get to see a different HC with hopefully, finally a different approach to offense.

Guys, you have to remember, with Sparano essentially shown no commitment beyond this seasom (yes I know his contract goes beyond this season but let's be realisitc), no OC would come here under those circumstances. We weren't going to get the pick of the litter. I still think McDaniels would have been great but not a chance he was coming here.

Here's Mike Mayock's take on Mark Ingram:

'one of the angriest runners I've ever seen. He's a three-down back. This is a kid who can play 16 games and want to play more. He can pass protect, catch the football, and has tremendous balance and vision".

Nothing about 'slow' or 'plodding' or 'not a difference-maker' or 'not a guy who can break it into the open space'. Pretty good write up on him. I WANT an angry back! A guy who WANTS to play! A guy who can pass protect and catch the football!

It all sounds good to me. I would think this would be a pretty good consolation prize if we can't move out of the 15th spot.

GRAIG M,

HOW DO YOU KNOW MIKE MAYOCK DOESN'T HAVE A RELATION WITH INGRAM'S AGENT ? HOW COME HE DIDN'T SAY A WORD ABOUT HIS KNEE INJURY ?

I don't buy the argument that OC's would not come to Miami because Ross supposedly has shown no commitment to Mr FG for a moment.

There are only 32 OC positions in the world Coaches want to coach.

The disincentive would be having to be an OC under Sparano. Sparano is obviously an incompetent and is way over his head.

One other thought and then I'm done for a while. Kyle Rudolph will be available in the second at some point. This guy is being compared to Rob Gronkowski by Mayock and others. I'm saying if we can trade down we should nab this guy in the second or if necessary give up next year's second to get him. We blew it by not getting this guy last year. Here's our chance to redeem ourselves on this guy. He's going to be a good player in the NFL and would be a good target for our QB.

craigM,

No way McDaniels came to Miami under any circumstances aside form his fued with Nolan, his control freak ways would have made for high drama with Marshall, that would have basically been like dousing the team with gasoline and striking a match. I was refering in my post to G.B.`s Q.B. Coach, were always talking about the way the game is evolving well then don`t you think we need a Coach who`s made his bones learning how to scheme it.

Don't worry Craig the Dolphins will draft Ingram like you want.

Ingram is perfect for Mr FG.

When the Dolphins get in the red zone Sparano can pound Ingram behind the mediocre O-line and get in position for the FG.

Followed by....

Fist pump!

Here's what ESPN analyst Todd McShay wrote this week in reaffirming Ingram's status as the best running back in the draft: "He is a very tough runner who gets stronger as games wear on. He shows the burst to turn the corner on film, his vision and patience are excellent, and he runs with great balance. Those things are enough to make him worthy of a mid-to-late first-round pick regardless of his 40 time."

If, McShay said, Miami does select Ingram, they’ll get the only running back he grades out high enough to go in the first round. His scouting report:

“I know he isn’t your ideal measurable guy, if you will. He doesn’t have the prototypical body, and he doesn’t run the fast 40 time and all that. But the way he runs, his pad level, his low center of gravity, his ability to create yards after contact, he has such a great sense of the cutback lanes, and more so than anybody else in that class, he feels what’s going to happen ahead of time. He just has that innate sense about him.

“I have no problem with him coming off the board in the first 20 picks; if he falls a little bit, the team that gets him in the last 12 picks of the first round could wind up getting a steal.

Oregon,

Who is it you wanted to come to Miami as OC? McDaniels didn't want come here and preferred to go to St. Louis and work with Bradford and Childress wanted some time off. Who is it you wanted to run the offence?

Sparano would never have agreed to allow the GB OC.

The Packers attack with the passing game and go for TD's in the red zone.

That's not Sparano's way.

Aloco...the only thing I've found online about Ingrams injury was that it was merely arthroscopic surgery and he missed two weeks.

If you have found any more information other than that, please share it, otherwise it appears that injury is history.

0x80, @6:12

I just saw your post, it`s incredible that after we crucified Satan for bolting to Bama we give even bigger Fins Nation Traitor Parcells a pass on that one !! If I`m Ross I`m not only not interested in his point of view, I`m actually considering taking him to Court for breach of Contract, don`t forget Franchise tampering which applies, he went against his employers interests while adding a competitor. I am absolutely baffled people didn`t get more bent out of shape. I know one thing Wayne Huzienga think what you will would not have taken that lying down, just ask Ricky Williams !!

@ craig,

Mark Helfrich for one. or someone from the Eagles, Colts or Packers staff. Whoever Harbaugh would have wanted to bring in. Basically anyone who is the polar opposite of the Sparano approach or what Dabol is.

Ross is going to have to clean house in order to get an offense that scores TD's, IMO

fin4 @ 6:52, heres a post from me you've never seen before: agreed 100%!

Not sure who the blond guy in the Green jump suit is (strength guy?)....

I like what he said about the FINS players improving their agility thu static and strength exercises......

But what exercise will improve their traction.....thats the one I want to see.....

Which drill will keep our recievers and backs on their feet and not slipping when the ball is in the air....or vacks falling before they even get hit....

0x80 @6:44

you sure you aren`t reading the one they put out on Ronnie Brown before the 05 draft, sounds the same, all I`m saying is take your own advise about the stock you put in those reads.

Kris @ 5:22

There you go again, like a over-bearing truent officer, searching the school playground for a gum chewing delinquent. You are one of the most annoying persons on this site.

Here you come again pretending like this is your Blog, and in some self-absorbed disillusion, actually believe others here are itching for your immediate return the moment you aren't typing the same, ollddd, crap!

There is something wrong when your personality is self deprecating, and YOU feel it is expected by others for you to hand out unheeded diciplane, ettiquete, and refresher courses on civilties. Boy, talk about taking liberties, while perpetually trying to bridle another's is just like a typical jerk.

So you see? I do pay attention, and althouogh you didn't teach me anything, you certainly reconfirmed one thing-

I see nothing but debris uttered by you.

DC....the radiation is in the RAIN WATER....not the wind.....

EVERYTHING IS OK.......

0x80 @6:54,

Once the draft is over and the season starts I`d imagine we`ll be doing alot of agreeing on things, my only hope is that they tend to be more on the positive side.

Gulf Dolphin.....Blah...blah...blah.....thats all you get....but feel free to type MULTIPLE PARAGRAPHS...to me.....

fin4 @ 6:47. I do, really. I've looked at all the highlights from all the top backs in this draft. I can't find one that looks more versatile than Ingram to my eyeballs. The only three I like are Ingram, Williams and Hunter. But I agree, you can always find what you want to hear. Women have taught me that.

OX8O,

GOOGLE (( MARK INGRAM'S INJURY )).... AND READ SECOND ITEM ON THAT LIST TITLED ((TOP 5 REASONS MARK INGRAM WON'T REGAIN ALBAMA STARTING )) .................... BY THE WAY HE ALSO SUFFERED A HIP INJURY EARLIER .

KRIS,

NOTICE I AM NOT DANCING B/C GULFDOPHIN TAKING YOU A PART EVEN IF HE'S RIGHT ...YOU BECAME A HOME LOOK A LIKE AND THE MAFIA BOSS HIT MAN ON TH BLOG .

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

right on time

Coincidence.......I don't think so

GULFDOLPHIN ,

AFTER READING YOUR POST FOR SECOND TIME..IT'S REALLY ON TARGET .

0x80 @7:04,

Yeah, I hear you there I`ve been married for along time now my friend, whenever the compliments start flying I know my wallet`s about to get lighter !! God forbid they pour it on thick cause then I now there`s a dent in my Bank account, LOL !!!!

I had suspected ALoco/GulphDolphin......

but I needed you to slip up just to be sure....I knew if I was patient you would.....

These games you play are silly.....so many names.....so little class

KRIS IS LIKE HIS MAFIA BOSS IMAGNING THINGS ,HE THINK ALOCO IS GULFDOLPHIN,YOU GIVE ME A LOT OF CREDIT FOR WRITING SUCH SMART POST .

Aloco that was OLD news from a year ago, not today. Injuries heal. Did you every cut your finger?

fin4life at 06:52 PM

You're absolutlely correct. As bad as Saban we hate Saban, he didn't do as much damage as Parcells. And he knows it. That's why he hauled ass.

I knew it from jump...he never had his heart in it and it showed.

Gulf...ive been reading some of your posts for quite a while....it seems to me your itching for a fight with Kris for some reason...why???

I happen to agree with many things that Kris says, like we need to make the acquissition of a franschise QB the No1 priority bar NONE....

I DO NOT see any self engrandiosement by Kris...what gives?....every single time he posts your all over him like a cheap shirt??

How about you let it go....you also have some good opinions...just debate...leave the personal stuff out of it...

Now back to CraigM who I respect but disagree with....2 points
1 How can anyone categorically state that there is NO franchise QB in the mix this year.
Anyone claiming that as a FACT is showing their ignorance...no one knows whether LUCK will be LEAF....and if Mallet will be Marino...
The point I keep making is the IRRESPECTIVE of anything, the philosophy needs to be that you keep picking high until you hit....and thats EVERY YEAR....yes every year...regardless if you think the class is weaker...who can be sure?

2 Ingram...dominating in college with a mature body that will be SMALL in the NFL....he has NO measurable that would be a point of difference in this league...NONE.He is not fast, big, a great stepper...he is good at many things but NOT EXCEPTIONAL at anything...PASS

If they trade down...use one pick early as possible on ONE QB....if they stick to 15...MALLET

OX80,

THE PROBLEM IS I DON'T PLAY FOOTBALL TO CUT MY FINGER AGAIN ,BUT WITH KNEE AND HIP INJURES IN FOOTBALL ,IT'S A DANGEROUS THING ,EVERY TIME HE RUNS YOU RISK INJURING IT AGAIN AND IT MAY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN .BUT TEAMS DRAFT THESE KIND OF PLAYERS TAKE A HUGE RISK WHICH I THINK FINS WILL OVERLOOK THIS TIME AROUND AND DRAFT HIM IF HE FALLS TO US .

PS....GULFDOLPHINS'S POST TOWARD KRIS SHOULD GO TO HALL OF FAME OF POSTS .

Aloco, I do agree the FO needs to do due diligence on any injury, for sure.

Meant...as bad as Saban was...

Must be the Johnnie Walker

Aloco=GulfDolphin.....

This is what I give you credit for......ready.....

I give you credit for pissing me off enough to e-mail Armando.....thats what I give you credit for......

and I will e-mail along with who ever I need to from the the Herald until YOU are either banned or at least limitied to one name....

We have lost many good posters because of your non-sense....here's hoping your next.....

Save your games for your kids......

1st e-mail is in the shoot......

KRIS.... I CALL ON ARMANDO NOW TO SAY IF GULFDOLPHIN IS ME HE SHOULD BAN ME FOR LIFE AND I STAND BY THAT STATEMENT ...

PS... YOU REMEMBER I TOLD YOU EARLY THAT YOU ACCUSE ME AND OTHERS TO INSULT YOU BASED ON THE GUY WHO'S PRESENT THAT DAY ON THE BLOG.

PLEASE ARMANDO , BAN ME FOR LIFE IF I AM GULFDOLPHIN .

Hey, Armando, don't write phonetically, we know it's you.

Bigafly... in your post above...your statement in point 1. asks how Craig can categorically deny something, but then in your point 2. you categorically deny something. Hmm.

Anyway, you speak of measurables. Gholston had more measurables than you can ask for, he shot up in the draft on measurables. How well did he do? Not even the best defensive mind in the NFL could do anything with him.
