Dolphins player workouts continue this week

I got a bit of a chuckle recently when media outlets around the country reported Bill Parcells is no longer with the Dolphins. Um, he hasn't been with the Dolphins since late October.

I also had to smile when I read that Dolphins players began working out today. Um, that's been happening for a couple of weeks as well and, like the Parcells thing, it really isn't news, either.

To that point, check out the video below filmed by Herald reporter Jeff Darlington. It chronicles the work receivers Davone Bess and Roberto Wallace and other NFL and CFL hopefuls are doing to get bigger, stronger, faster, and ultimately, better.

Brandon Marshall has been training for six weeks. Six weeks!

No, none of the work is happening at the Dolphins training facility in Davie, FL. The players are locked out and so they are not welcome at the training facility. But they are working out at various gyms and workout facilities throughout South Florida.

He's been under the guidance of Fit Speed Sports Performance in Fort Lauderdale. He was recently joined for a workout by Mike Sims-Walker, which has led to rumors the free agenct receiver recently cut loose by the Jacksonville Jaguars, might be trying to make a pitch to Miami's top receiver for a good word with Miami's front office.

I get the feeling Marshall would gladly put in that good work for Sims-Walker.

As you check out the video, notice Bess. He's not the skinny undrafted free agent out of Hawaii any more. The kid has some serious bulk on him these days, moreso than he had even at the end of last season.

@ GulfD,

I think he`s basing it on the fact that SD would love to get there hands on Watt, who the Pats also like a pick ahead of them. The whole thing is contingent on N.E. not trading up and trying to aquire one of the WR (J.Jones/AJ Green) a scenario 0x80 brought up yesterday given the amount of picks they have at there disposal.

They could stay put as easily though (Pats) when you analize that they need an OT, DE/OLB (pass rusher) while addressing WR with the 1st. pick of rd. 2 which they also own but I doubt they will part with anything more than 3rd rd. pick (SD) to move up 3 spots.

FIN4LIFE,

ARE YOU TALKING TO THE GREAT GULFDOLPHIN?

THEN, YOU OWE ME AN APOLOGY .

Aloco,

I said if I was proven wrong I would apologize and there for I am but you also owe me one for all the cheap shots you took at me over the weekend, proving you weren`t posing as GulfD is one thing but what about everything else over the weekend

Aloco,

I was unaware you were the official mouth piece for GulfD ?

FIN,

I DONT OWE YOU ANY THING SINCE I WAS WORKING AND CUBAN AND THE MAFIA BOSS KEPT FAKING POSTS PLUS THE GUY WHO SIGNED FOR ALOCO IN BLUE ALSO ,THERE'S A FEW PEOPLE FAKING ME ....

WHY I LIE WHEN I CAN SAY ANY THING I WANT AND SIGN MY NAME AND NOTICE SOME DAYS I AM HOURS ON THIS SITE,SO I AM NOT TRYING TO HIDE MY PRESENCE .

THANK YOU FIN4LIFE FOR YOU APOLOGY .

NOW WE NEED AN APOLOGY FROM KING KOLE ( KRIS ) .

FIN,

THE BEST THING HAPPENED TODAY THAT I GOT CONNECTED TO GULFDOLPHIN HIGH GRADE ENGLISH WRITING AND I ADMIRE HIM FOR COMING TO MY AID IN THE FACE OF THE LIES .

Good write up on PFT on Cam Newton. Really slears the guy on and off the field. Hard to believe Armando and others would have actually had us trading up to take this guy. I think maybe some guys need to take a look in the mirror next time they want to rip and company for the moves they make.

Fin4life,

I see the trade scenerio now. I was gone for three days, so I didn't read that exchange last night. Looks doable.

Also please try not feed into anymore trash-mouthing.

I just sent Armando a letter. I took the liberty to copy and paste, as I see no reason to keep this a stupid secret.

Armando Salguero,

Hey,

Keep up the great posts.

Anyways, seems there is a little tit-for-tat between a few of us there at your Blog. I don't think it is worth mentioning, but regular poster, Kris is getting bent out of shape and posting that he has written you to ban some of us because he thinks I am Aloco, Aloco is me; I am Armando; Armando is a figment of his imaginationa; a conspiracy theory exists to undermine him... he-he-

Anyway, ever since I did my bravo on your peice on the CBA, "Us vs. Them," I have been getting the smear from a few on here. Regardless what I post. I defend myself, and apologize if it seems like the tit-for-tat is personal. It is not.

As this is not a personal matter, but public, I am going to paste it on your blog as a way to try and make peace again for all us that come to your column, radio, blog etc.

GulfDolphin / Marooned on a Deserted Island

ARMANDO,

THIS BLOG BECOMING LIKE THE SS OF LATE..ANY POSTER WHO DISAGREE WITH MAFIA BOSS GETS ATTACKED,FAKED FROM FEW IN HERE .

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WE LOVE BEING HERE BUT NOT WILLING TO TAKE THE ABUSE FROM THE MAFIA BOSS AND CO .

Here's that article on Cam Newton. See if this sounds like a guy you'd want leading your team to a Championship.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/03/28/pfw-draft-guide-clobbers-cam-newton/

23 players involved in workouts today, organized by Jake Long and your so-called Mr Roboto, Chad Henne. Didn't think he had it in him, did you guys?

Hi CraigM...yeah all good down here mate...I see your point...mine is simply 10 years without a Franchise QB requires some form of DIRECT ACTION / FOCUS....To me its critical...I like you, havnt counted Henne out of the equation as I beleive that if he has any real steel in his back he will grow a piar and react the way he should...by proving his worth...I still think he has a chance there mainly because he was cruelled by the wildcat on many occassions and poor setup and playcalling all of which I blame TS for...but also it needs to be said that he BUTCHERED many easy throws...he might be spooked...This is his 3rd year so he is not totally out of the picture yet and may be fine with maturity.

And seeing as FA will be after the draft, I would do the following..

1 If we pick at 15....MALLET...massive upside, maturity issues, but a winner...take a chance here
2 Next set of picks include a Olineman at 3rd round maybe Moffit...
3 In FA later fill RB's...im not convinced R&R are done...they , like Henne may have suffered with the setup last year...

If we trade down...id go Kaepernick and Pouncey if available...then the rest..

I dont beleive there is anything in the draft in TE that is comparable to Gronk or Graham last year....back to FA there as Fasano is lukewarm...Rudolph is OVERRRATED for mine...

I like Ahmad Bradshaw (RB)a lot...a lot....and if need be and Id go Santonio Holmes if available as a speed WR....I also think that Moore and Wallace will make big strides this next year...they have a ton of talent....

I would certainly continue to INVEST BIG in a QB every year until that need is filled and that means picking HIGH.....

Aloco...lasagna with fresh salad for lunch...!

GulfD,

In all honesty my part in all of this has nothing really to do with what went on here tonight and alot more to do with this past weekends events that spilled over to today. I understand that you and Kris have a difference of opinion that`s caused a bit of a fued between you. I happen to find both your inputs/points of view strong and relevant in the great debate that is all things Fins Nation in our quest to once again be relevant in the Football universe.

There for I cannot/will not get involved or pick sides, at the end of the day this isn`t some school yard and were not a bunch of kids anymore, at least I`m not. There was alot of fake posting over the weekend, insults were tossed around and it was all suspiciously in "Aloco" speak/post. I didn`t personally see him do it so I can`t say with 100% conviction anything. My theories are nothing more than that theory but I have my suspicions just the same.

I can`t believe that a forum about Pro Football has been reduced to this, a bunch of grown men acting like infantile brain dead idiots, maybe it`s the off season and some are bored or maybe we all just need a break. I thought Darryl paraphrased it quite nicely he called it a circle jerk, well I`ll take it just one step further, it`s a circle jerk Thuderdome for the chiklet heads in the peanut gallery. I think I`ll take a few days myself, all the best to everybody !!

BIGALFY,

WHAT KIND OF LASAGNA ?

bigalfy,

Good to see you haven't given up on Henne. I was watching some film of him today and I don't care what anybody says he's got the physical tools. Good arm, good drop backs and good size. Now where it all seems to break down for him is the mental part of the game and some bad decisions. I think he's had lousy coaching for three years. I watched some of the plays develop in front of him and there was nothing happening. I don't know if guys were running wrong routes, but things looked disorganized with no seperation from the defence. I'm not sure what a QB is supposed to do in situations like that except maybe throw it away oe eat it. Too often he threw ill-advised passed that were picked off, which killed rallies. So he needs to get better at that part. His accuracy was fine. People want to cut him up for that but his numbers there are fine. In my mind we need to add a runing threat and play call better. Looked to me that defences had us figured out all too easily last year.

Gulf...i like your draft...i dont know many...but i like Mallet, and Murray....

bigalfy,

One other point and I talked about this in the last blog. It's fine to talk about all the FA that we would like to add, beit D'Angelo Williams or Santonio Holmes or whoever, but if some of the guys on this blog are correct, we've got a lame duch head coach and a QB on his last legs. What FA out there is going to want to commit to this team for the next 3-4 years under those circumstances? Yes, money talks but if your are D'Angelo Williams and all things were equal would you sign with the Dolphins or the Pats first? We may find it hard to attract FA's this offseason, so ignoring positions in the draft with the intention of adding in FA may prove to be a colossal mistake.

Aloco...beef lasagne...with no bechamel...but lots of cheese...

CraigM...I agree...I think this year we will see a different Henne...He simply has to take charge and become POSITIVE....Daboll will help him im sure...but your right...there was a lot of dorganisation up forward last year that WAS NOT HIS FAULT......TS and Dan Henning...take a bow..

HENNE WILL BE THE ONE STAR THIS YEAR WITH MARSHALL.THEY WILL TAKE US,NO DOUBT TO THE PLAYOFFS .

WAS LAsagna good without the bechamel, bigalfy ?

CraigM...fair point about FA....I havnt yet decided that TS et al are incompetant....but lets see some better coaching please....and and some decent clock management....if field goals are once again the order of the day then that leaves very little room for error and thus you stifle any freedom for Henne....we need playcalling that is AGGRESSIVE and EXCITING....lets hope we have enough talent to playcall like that....thats where I am a little bemused....are they (FO)cautious due to a known lack of talent/speed or is it just their "nature'.....or lack of brains/confidance/experience..??????

This blog has gotten pretty crazy. You guys cannot see a connnection between the menace and aloco??? Come on wake up people. It used to be worse when NJ was posting here. Who is not to say that he is still posting under a different name. Oscar Canosa: Any more clues for us???

Thomas Edison wannabe, ALOCO and the Cuban Menace are not one in the same..you can't read people if you think so...

Oscar Canosa is a different guy, they all have different writing styles....like fingerprints, all different. Some others maybe, but not those 3!

I have been a stout supporter of Henne, and have been vocal in giving him one more year to prove his worth.

Not because I believe he will suddenly become good, I think his stats suggest he isn't that bad to begin with. I still say alot of factors outside his control kept the man down. I also firmly believe he, like most QB entering their prime, will overcome alot of the mental indecisions that frustrates everyone around him.

Henne is an investment, and I'd hate to see him cashed in prematurally. I also think we should bring in the competition, as I am no fool.

Giving the benifit of the doubt, is one thing, having no backup plan to fall upon is another.

Aloco, no problem guy. Life in cyberspace...

totally agree w/ that gulf. Also fin4life, I stopped reading a few posters becuz it has become too asinine for my taste... what happened to the dodsworth philosophy or soiled meanderings I've come to enjoy?

Aloco that was OLD news from a year ago, not today. Injuries heal. Did you every cut your finger?

Craig M & bigafly...

Nice posts on this page... Craig M, I read the C & P WEB page you posted. I can honestly say the opinions I have of Newton were already well in place long before that material was released. One year of NCAA Football is just not enough time under center for anyone to develop a solid profile of the ma. I don't see him in Miami even in the best of situations.

I will say it again, agreeing with some and certainly not with others. Of all the QB's in this draft, I look at Ryan Mallet and see a QB that will be one of two things. He will either be a serviceable guy, who may or may not be sack prone. Or... he is going to have the "IT" we have been looking for. The big accurate arm that isn't afraid to go downtown.

I am a Mallet fan. I am placing 45 tears up to his and I think he has something that we have not seen in Miami since the end of the 1999 season... Its my opinion and I feel whatever team get that kid is going to be damn happy they did. If I'm wrong I'll gladly admit it. But I feel Miami should take the shot at him... see if the drought is finally over!

I'll also so this to the entire Blog.

Many of you have been around posting on this blog for years. Just like I have. I'm very sad to see some of what has been going on for several months now. People stealing guys handles. Contrarians and Trolls who argue and fight every positive or good thing. Never having anything good to say and hiding behind words like "I'm just being honest and not living in a fantasy"... There is NOTHING at all wrong with criticism or sarcasm if used in in good form or in good humor. But that is not what is happening and guys are using these strange outbursts of anger and cynicism to drive negativity and even less then seasoned fans or new people on this blog away with their constant argumentative and negative approach. As stated before, criticism has a place and a right to be used... But don't BS a BS'er.

The name stealing and argumentative harassment by some to others has gained some people attention. It has driven away long time posters on this blog because they have grown tired of the constant harassment and having to explain their remarks.

Like always... going all the way back to grade school, you can pin the whole matter on just a few undesirables.

I must admit, being from a different generation, I don't "Get it"... I'm not naive or in any way sheltered to the truth. I know there are those people who wake up every morning with their first thought being "I just want to see it all burn"... There is that element who comes into the normal world and pollutes it with their brand of hate and a single minded approach leading only to the destruction of everything Good and Clean and righteous. Like I said... There are those who for whatever reason, Mommy hated them, Never knew Daddy... or just uneducated ignorant fools... "Just want to see it all burn".... Just want the good to be replaced with the miserable. I suppose that misery really does love company.

I personally could not bring myself to care any less then I do... But it is sad that no new people or women stick around this blog anymore. Its sad when long time posters just say "See ya" they have become so tired and frustrated... Because the truth is... 99% of the people on this blog are cool ass dudes who just want to rap about their team. Be it positive all the time of a fair mixture of positive and critical remarks. Its the 1%ers as usual that blow it up for everyone else.

Oh well... thank Gad no ones life should ever be all about a Dolphins blog. This business these people are doing is not worth the anger or resentment. Because in reality, nothing I can say or anything else short of booting them out of here will ever change anything.,... and that is on Armando. And Armando knows what is up. We'll see what he does about it of anything.

GULFDOLFAN IS THE BEST BLOGGER AL OTERS ARE MEMBERS OF DA GANGS OF DEFEAT I LIKE TO SNIFF WEHN I SCRATCH ME BUTT BEST INGREDEINT FOR COOKING MAKES FOOD YUUMMMEEE ANYBODY WANTS ME TO SCRACH THERE BUTT HOW ABUOT YU GULF MY HERO CAN I SCRATCH AN SNIFF YU

Well said Derek...at the end of the day we are all Dopphin fans...all have different views...but its the analysis that we enjoy...as long as it is intelligent....we have to move this franchise forward so speculating on how that could be achieved is very enjoyable...I firmly beleive that the FO mamagement of any team asks themselves the very questions we discuss....and they too are in two minds on most questions....much of it is good luck and timing....
But the management get paid huge money ...so its right that we hold them accountable...

wow

Some of the current nonsense going on is boring and stupid...cmon guys...talk football...please...where's Rob in Oc or beerphin...or DC Dolfan when you need them?

if it's not news (work-outs) then why are you (STILL) reporting it???

Internet is practically just beguining and most People,as usual, have not bothered to start learning its Properties. This phenom of multiple participants who are one and the same in Blogs is common. The main reason that it is done is, once again, $. The more hits a Blog receives, the more noticeable it becomes in certain ratings, with more opportunities of many kinds for the Blog owner. It usually works out this way: the Blog owner pays a few persons to participate regularly in the Blog, and most of the rest of the participants, he or she owner, makes them up. There are People who are great at changing their writing style, of course, professional writers, where it's practically impossible to know that two writings come from the same person. In the case of Armando, he and the Miami Herald are in fierce competition with Omar Kelly and the Sun Sentinel and this increases the above mentioned Internet practices. Sometimes, pesky, independent People like me, interfere with the Bloggers designs, but that is unavoidable.

I believe that, as Internet advances in Time, these drag-down, low-down practices will become more sophisticated and "pure". We don't care. For the most part we just watch, and only sometimes interfere.

hello, everybody, what is your hobby in your spare time? I am fond of listening to music, read books . it's really a kind of enjoying for me

oscare canosa ,

tell the people the truth... I WAS FAKED LAST NIGHT WITH MANY POSTS BUT WHO CARES BUT DON'T TAKE THESE FAKES FOR ME AND ACCUSE ME OF INSULTING YOU .I AM SMARTER THAN SPENDING MY TIME ON THAT .

OSCAR IS SAYING THE HERALD COULD BE PAYING SOME PEOPLE TO BE IN THE BLOG LIKE THE MAFIA BOSS AND CO TO GET PEOPLE CHASING THEM LIKE PUPPY,IT MAKE SENSE .

Why even mention Parcells. Why give him any kind of platform. Hes a jerk and an old fart who's best days were well behind him. He is directly responsible for the mess we are in. Big and slow. Was that not his mantra.

Armando. Don't waste anymore valuable space on your board discussing anything about Parcells.
It makes me want to puke.

From Craig M - "Let's not try to claim they are the Steelers of the 70's or the Cowboys of the early 90's."

Craig, you need to add the 49ers of the 80's to that list (late 80's more than early 80's). Best team of the bunch IMO, with Montana and the passing game getting most of the press but that team could run the rock with Rathman and Roger Craig, and consistently ranked #1 or close to it in defense with studs like Michael Carter, Charles Haley, Eric Wright and Lott.

I have hope for Henne. I have to since he will most likely be the only viable starter in trainng camp, unless a miracle happens with Carson Palmer.

So I have to hope that Henne will improve - and knowing that it took Brees and Rodgers 3 years to "get it", Peyton 2 years, Elway 3 years, Aikman 2 years, Bradshaw 4 years....

Gives me hope that Henne will soon "get it" - not that he will ever be the QB's above but that he can be an "above average" QB - vs. the absolute stinker he was last year.

I always though NFL players were a lot stronger than that. The squat fiasco was pretty funny. There was no way he was gonna lift that without help.
