Draft night live blog begins right here, right now

The NFL draft is finally here and this blog is a-live!

So do the Dolphins go with the primetime pick in this primetime draft? Do they trade back as I've been told they are trying to do? Do they pick a quarterback?

"A quarterback makes sense if and only if they think a FRANCHISE quarterback is there," Dan Marino tweeted today. "Otherwise, I am firm believer in taking the Best Player Available."

So whom would the man once hired to lead the Dolphins franchise -- he quit two weeks later -- consider the franchise quarterbacks in this draft?

"With my CBS gig I spend more time watching the QBs on Sunday so it wouldn't be fair for me to say if a guy is or isn't a franchise QB," Marino followed with another tweet.

The national insider types are reporting there will be a run on QBs in the top 12 picks. We'll see about that. Aside from the QBs, here are some names I'm going to ask you to keep in mind:

Alabama RB Mark Ingram if they do not trade back.

VT RB Ryan Williams if they trade back.

Florida C Mike Pouncey if they do not trade back.

Purdue OLB Ryan Kerrigan if they do not trade back.

Kansas State's Daniel Thomas if they do trade back.

I'm rooting for the trade back. OK, meet me in the comments section. Let's go a-live!

This is very good theatre. I doubt anyone has predicted the correct order of this draft. So many players in play now for our 15th pick...It is looking grim for a trade back. Could happen, any scenarios out there?

Mallet will be a bust. I hope we don't draft him

Hey, little amondo, hold on, man, hold on.

Ireland is going to have options...will be interesting to see this.

Ada boy Mando!

mondo you know why pennsylvania is next to new york ? because new york sucks ! mondo you know why ohio is not next to new york ? because new york blows !

CraigM ...re read my posts...i said trade UP...for Gabbert.( gone anyway)..or down a few spots for Mallet....he will be available at 20-25 i beleive....

I'm going to be really disappointed if we walk away with Pouncey at 15. We need more than just plugging ANOTHER guard in. I don't care how could pay think he might become, I don't see him being an elite centre. I don't think he's going to be our pick at 15. Maybe somebody will want to trade up ahead of the Vikings....maybe San Diego or New Orleans?

Hey ox80 we don't need a qb. And the best one already got drafted by Tennessee. We need ingram. Or the prince

I sure hope so!

Though I think they have to take farley here!

Ireland just called me to see if they can put the draft on hold while he takes a bathroom break.

Who's Minn trading with?

Ireland just realized there's a draft

So he shut the window

Taking a break, like ESPN.

If you said that I apologize....you haven't said trade up for Mallett tonight?

Going to be hard for Miami to trade back, seems to be alot of teams wanted to do this.

Yea Pouncey at 15 is too high to take him I rather grab one of these pass rushers over Pouncey

A farley farley farley....Singin bush 3 Amigos

mondo where you at man

Everyone trying to trade back...gonna be tough for us unless a surprise guy (Fairley?) is still there and someone really wants him.

Christian Ponder at 12? Crazzzzzy

Pouncey will be a Pro Bowl Guard in the NFL...

Excellent point, Mike.

HAHAHAHA Ponder to the Vikes!!!

another QB wow

Defintely time to trade DOWN....Ireland...earn your keep....Sparano is lost in space and doesnt have a clue...he's still writing down the Cam Newton pick on his chart....

Don't discount the tradeback option. There are good players still on the board and teams like New Orleans, Chicago and San Diego may still want to trade up.

Run on QBs.

Good one Kris. Fairley looks like the lost Boys 2 Men singer to me.

Rick Spielman goes with Christian Ponder?

I love him, but it is a reach.

both fairly, prince, quinn still on the board. I think we can trade back

Christian Ponder!! I think a lot of teams are finally getting it...Without a QB, winning a SB is next to IMPOSSIBLE...

Im glad Ponder is gone...hes a NOTHING Qb...Vikings to remain average...nothing new here....

yes yes yes!!! ponder blows what idiots 1 i love it. Damnit I better settle down before something comes out unexpected mondo

If prince falls to us let's grab him put him next to v davis

Darn, I liked him for Miami.

Thank God Rick Spielman is callig the shots in Minnesota. I think that move of drafting Ponder will get him fired. I don't expect Ponder to pan out!

huge reach for ponder

Ponder?? Wow, 2nd, 3rd rounder. Over reach

yea dolphins phones should be ringing off the hook now!

LOL @ Bogota....

4 QBs in top 12. 1999 had 5 QBs top 12

Who do you want us to take Odin?

Ireland did his homework on Mallett. I will trust his decision whether he picks him or not.

its got to be bowers or fairley..never thought they would get this far....now we will see how smart ireland is

A lot of QB needy teams and a lot of crappy QB's makes for a pretty funny draft.

In the 2nd round.

Remember when I said Prince at 15? Dont steal him Detroit

Dolphin in Montreal,

These guys aren't first round QBs. A lot of these guys are reaching. You're going to see flops from a lot of these guys.

ponder - stupid pick when they could have had old bag with gold trimmins on head

Maybe someone will trade up with us to take Dalton
