Marc Bulger perhaps more attractive than you think

Marc Bulger.

I advise you to think Marc Bulger.

Why, you ask in an inquisitive voice, should I think of Marc Bulger on the Memorial Day weekend? Well, as I shared with you in a previous post, the NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora was reporting the Broncos are more likely than not to keep Kyle Orton when the season eventually gets underway. That seemingly eliminates one semi-attractive veteran quarterback option.

Yet another post this week had Bengals owner Mike Brown swearing Carson Palmer won't be traded, thus putting a dead end sign on that possible veteran QB avenue.

The possibilities are dwindling, folks.

So today when LaCanfora did his weekly segment on my radio show, Armando and the Amigo, I had to ask, what legitimate most likely options that leaves the Dolphins? We both agreed not Kevin Kolb of Philadelphia. We both agreed not likely Donovan McNabb.

We both agreed Marc Bulger is a possibility.

Disclaimer: The last time I saw Bulger play was 2008 in St. Louis and he looked tentative, worn, and frankly, a little afraid to stand in the pocket. I thought he was done. LaCanfora acknowledged that Bulger was not good in his latter Rams days. But he told me something I didn't know about Bulger's most recent stint as a backup with Baltimore in 2010.

"I have some pretty good sources on the Ravens," he said. "When I talked to people there they were very impressed with Bulger. They told me when he's on the field and running the offense, the ball often doesn't hit the ground ... They believe he's going to be a very good quarterback in 2011. They would love to keep him in Baltimore as the backup but they think someone will sign him to compete to start or be a bridge quarterback and a pretty good one at that."

Bulger makes sense for Miami because he does have plenty of experience. He has had time to recover from the beating he suffered in 2008-2009. He won't require draft choice compensation. He won't be extremely expensive to sign. He is not exclusively a West Coast offense guy like McNabb and others. And the last time someone took a chance on a seemingly washed up former St. Louis QB, it paid off handsomely.

Kurt Warner went from New York Giants has-been to Super Bowl QB in Arizona.

I'm not saying Bulger will reap similar benefits for his next team. I'm not saying he will be the answer to Miami's QB problems for the next five years. The truth of the matter is the Dolphins are not likely to find that guy in free agency or via trade. Those guys don't just show up on your doorstep.

So if that is what you're hoping for, don't bank on it. I've told you, Peyton Manning isn't signing with Miami.

I'm just saying don't dismiss Bulger out of hand as a Miami possibility. He might not turn the franchise around. But he would serve as competition fo Chad Henne. At this point, that may be the only possbility the Dolphins might be left with.

No, I haven't had any Government cheese in awhile Aloco and I'll thank the Good Lord for that too!

Aloco,

Where did you go?

Did the Pinapple princess tell you to take out the trash?

Did she spring a leak?

ALOCO!

Where are you?

ODIN:

WHAT's DA DIFFERENCE.

I READ THE BIBLE WHAT DOES IT SAY?

ALOCO:

I GUESS I AM IF THAT MEANS BELIEVING IN HUMAN RIGHTS.

RESPECTING ALL FORMS OF LIFE.

AND TREATING THOSE HOW I WANT TO BE TREATED.

MAYBE.

YEAH I'M AT IT AGAIN WITH MY STUPID POSTS.

ALOCO:

DON'T DISRESPECT ME I LOVE THIS COUNTRY MORE THAN MOST.

IT'S THE ONES WHO LIKE YOURSELF BELIVE YOU ARE GREATER THAN THE NEXT.

YOU CAN SAY YOU LOVE YOUR COUNTRY BUT IT'S THE PEOPLE WHO MAKES A COUNTRY GREAT NOT THE LAND.

YOU SEEM LIKE THE TYPE WHO CARES ABOUT HIM SELF ONLY.( I COULD BE WRONG ).

YOU COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE HUNGRY KIDS IN YOUR AREA.

Justin,

I'm not sure what you mean.

Actually, I should say, maybe you misubderstand.

The Bible has some good common sense rules to live by. The problem is, people try and read to much divine hocus pocus into it.

True spirituality doesn't come from a book. It comes through a just heart, fed by a sound mind.

Good and Evil are just descriptive words that Humans use.

The true nature of power in the Universe is Pure Energy. Therefor, we are the result of Positives and Negatives!

Be A Positive Force My Brother!!!!

OH BY THE WAY YOUR SAYING IT'S STUPID TO LOVE EACH OTHER?

JUST A QUESTION.

I LOVE READING FAKE ALCO GOING AT IT WITH JUSTIN .........

ODIN,

TALKING MUSIC FOR A MINUTE, MARIA PLAYED FOR US A KEITH RICHARD FROM HIS ALBUM (( EXILED FROM MAIN STREET )) ...

DID YOU KNOW HE NEVER USED ELECTRIC GUTAR ?

IS ANY BLOGGER FULL MORE OF BS THAN ODIN?

Keith Richards is a very accomplshed accoustic guitar player.

However, his favorite guitar was a Fender Telecaster. He used the Telecaster on most of the 50 years worth of recordings he did with the Rollings Stones.

While he did record with an accoustic, he used the ELECTRIC Telecaster much more.

Keith Richards is either God or the Devil and I don't really care which. I LOVE the Man!

DA REAL ALOCO:

I've BEEN HOODWINK

ODIN,

WHAT DOES OVER LOADING ACCOUSTIC GUITAR TO MAKE IT SOUND LIKE AN ELECTRIC GUITAR MEANS ?

You guys kill me. Aloco talks so much crap and then when some one gets on him he just blames it on the fake aloco, and you guys always believe him. You let him make fools out of you day in and day out.

Well, I've NEVER been accused of being "Full more of BS" in all my life!

I am so mad! Oooooooooooooooo Mister! If I coulod get my hands on you!

On the other hand........................

Justin just reminded me of one of my favorite old Beatles tunes:

All you need is LOVE, LOVE..............

LOVE is ALL you need!

And how was your day Bucky.........????

(( THE ROLLING STONE ))..WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NAME...CAN YOU FIND AN AMERICAN BAND WITH A BETTER NAME ?

CMONMAN,

I WAS WORKING FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS LIKE HELL ...PEOPLE KNOW I DON'T TALK LIKE THE FAKE ALOCO WHICH I LIKE ..........

WHO I LIKE

Aloco,

It just means that an electric pickup has been installed onto the accoustic either during original manufacturing or aftermarket.

Either way, if done properly, it gives you versatility comparable to our Solar Sysytem as opposed to the entire universe!

Some accoustics come nowadays with electronic picks up, AND electro tuners built right in!

And we used to have to learn tunes with beat up accoustics, missing strings and only eight track players to listen too.

Dooh!

(( THE ROLLING STONE ))..WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NAME...CAN YOU FIND AN AMERICAN BAND WITH A BETTER NAME ?

Posted by: ALoco | May 30, 2011 at 11:28 PM

YES! The only famous band I played in.

We called ouraselves Rare Earth!

Youtube up our biggest hit. Many movies used it. Many commercials by big companies. Ford Motors still uses it.

I'm still getting rebroadcasting royalties from that song.

I just want to celebrate another day of living!

I just want to celebrate another day of life!

Talking 'Civil Violence' for a minute...

I believe this cop thing at South Beach might turn out to be big...

There are those who will try to say that the police used excessive Force when they pumped 60+ bullets into the car...

But try to keep in mind that there were 2 automobiles (and possibly some motorcycles) driving down a crowded boulevard SHOOTING AT EACH OTHER.

It's always a tragedy when stray bullets hit innocent people (in this case some girls walking down the street)....but I'm not sure if there is any other way for Law Enforcement to combat RETARDS who don't know the appropriate places to use guns.

I'm sure that Al Sharpton is on his way down to Florida right now....and its a shame, because the officers who protect our streets don't have any other way of stopping people who fire bullets from cars. Its amazing that not a single person has ever tried to fix the REAL problem....which is the culture of HIP HOP.

Suing 100 cities for 'Negligence' will NEVER solve THAT problem.

...and nooooo I'm not a Racist...

I'm being critical of a TYPE OF MUSIC and it's
C U L T U R E !!!!!!!!

I WILL ODIN .

I love my musical culture.

We jammed as much sex, drugs and Rock and Roll into a life as humanly possible. I'm still Rockin-LOL!

But ah, you Hip Hoppers, ya'll keep killin each other!

ROTFLMAO - LOSEERS!!!!

All you need is LOVE, LOVE.............

LOVE is all you need...............

Yours is a lot better.

I mean thongs are nice too...
but too often their in the same video with AUTOMATIC WEAPONS.

Cooz,

RELAX!

Just because you condem senseless, retarded violence, that in no way, shape or form, makes you a racist!

You can rap about smackin ass and burning blunts baby, I'm ALL IN.

But when you breed a culture of violence and then pass it on to our youth, sorry, I'm outtie!

..Frickin snow. It will not stop.

Odin, did War cover" I Just Want To Celebrate?" I seem to remember that from back in the day..

mmmm

Odin, you can't have much of a life if you're here posting all of the time.

Not even Odin believes half what he says. He is stuck in a time warp and thinks the party animal lifestyle will impress us. Finding people in your lawn mower shed drinking, beer and dorito breakfasts, sounds darn awful and derelict to me. It's all just exagerrated bs.

When there is no party he suddenly always has all these hotties popping up. Its funny though he will tell you about the hottie he had last night yet you will see he was bloggling whole night before LOL!!!!!

The Dolphins scraping the bottom of the barrel once again and will continue to for some time to come. What a fine mess Parcells, Ireland, Sparano and Ross have gotten this team into.

Plenty of buffoon comments here from people that don't know football. You cannot judge Bulger on the last couple years. His offensive line was practically non-existent.

Thigpen should be the #1 just give the guy a chance. Trade Henne for a door stop and move on.

100% agree Bulger is a good possibility and quite possibly the right choice. My number two pick would be Matt Leinart. Both players have great upside, will both be on the cheap, and both will not come with all the politics that McNabb, Orton, Hasselbeck, etc would bring. Don't forget people...the Phins have roster spots to fill, not necessarily the starting spots. The Phins are not going to go far with just Henne and Brandstater - who are the only two signed QB's on the team right now. They'll need to fill at least one more spot depending if Pennington/Thigpen get re-signed. And Brandstater is nothing better than practice squad. I still think Henne is the future, but we need good competition for him without spending a fortune.

dolphins do have four good options to bring in a veteran experienced qb for a year or two...

matt hasselback

marc bulger

carson palmer

kyle orton

all are still options that are open!

plus he is from Pittsburg Central Catholic the same as another phin great!

I think Marc Bulger would be a great sign... no one should pay attention to his last two years stats with the rams he had easily the worst offensive line in the league because of all the injuries they had there... Bulger has a lightning quick release and when given time highly accurate he would be great for the dolphins much better then Henne imo and besides Kolb the best Qb choice out there imo... He has had over a year to recover from his injuries and the Dolphins O line is not bad Bulger could give us three really good years with a chance to compete and if your automatically gonna dismiss him you obviously have not seen him pass when healthy and had time one of the bets pure passers in the league when Kurt Wanrer was there he said himself Bulger was more accurate then him

He is a good friend that speaks well of us behind our backs.
