Henne: He's up, he's down, he's up again

Chad Henne was good again Wednesday.

No, I'm not going to write a daily report on his progress or lack of it. But I am somewhat committed to reporting how the Dolphins starting quarterback is performing when he does something of note.

And just as Sunday was noteworthy for Henne's fine play and Tuesday was noteworthy for his not-so-fine-play, Wednesday was another day on top.

"In the last four practices I’ve seen him make a jump," coach Tony Sparano said. "He’s practiced pretty well."

Henne on Wednesday completed a nice deep ball of 25 yards to Brandon Marshall during team drills. In team red zone drills, he dropped in a nice 5 yard pass to Anthony Fasano that was just out of reach of linebacker Koa Misi. He was generally accurate throughout the day.

Sparano, aware Henne has no real competition for the starting quarterback job, believes Henne can still improve despite not really being pushed by backup Matt Moore.

“One thing I’ll say about this guy is during the lockout on, he’s been really self-motivated," Sparano said. "He’s done a tremendous job that way. The challenges of the new system and him keeping up with that system and having command and being in command, that challenge has been good for him."

@Sam

Save your energy and stop arguing with these two losers. They will never be more than blind fans.

How's FSU gonna do this year?

fin4life-
Haven't heard anything except Sparano said it'll be more of a practice than a walk through due to the nature of this WEIRD preseason.

Can't wait ti see the Fins tomorrow night.

GO FINS!

Looks like the babies are back from their naps. Enjoy your day fella's.

Semanole Sam is riding these guys like a rented mule. What gives?

Seminole - Repeat after me.. "I hate Henne but he is our QB this season so since I have no choice I will cheer for him to prove me wrong, I hate Henne but he is our QB this season so since I have no choice I will cheer for him to prove me wrong, I hate Henne but he is our QB this season so since I have no choice I will cheer for him to prove me wrong, I hate Henne but he is our QB this season so since I have no choice I will cheer for him to prove me wrong," Keep saying it, maybe it will stick!

FACT: 2d round picks are highly valued by NFL GMs and some analysts have said they covet those picks more in some instances because of many factors such as salary. Hence, as I said, I consider the 2d rounders that Miami has either given up in trades or used to draft QB's to be serious attempts at addressing the QB problem. I never said "very" serious attempts and I don't even know what "very" serious attempts means. Please clarify and, perhaps, we can figure out why your panties are all in a bunch.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Your 2nd fact while it applies to every position on your team has to be 2nd guessed when thinking Franchise Q.B. you can`t in todays game expect to nickle and dime your team by telling me the Pro`s of drafting for the position in Rd.2 in order to avoid paying big money to a high 1st Rd. potential at Q.B. then turn around and bash the team when the theory doesn`t work out with a Chad Henne, your contradicting yourself and avoid the facts from my side of the argument. As far as Brees is concerned you obviously didn`t read my opinion last night so I`ll look for it and repost it for you.

fin4life | August 11, 2011 at 01:08 PM

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Seminole Sammie Smith,

Were in my 1:16 post do I allude to Brees being thought of as a Franchise type potential??? He was a stand out talent during his Jr./Sr. seasons at Perdue and at the time given that we had Feidler seemed a viable answer I`ve been saying since last night that we haven`t addressed the position long term since Marino retired, long term solutions at Q.B. are usually thought of as the face of their respective Franchise, hence the term Franchise Q.B.

By the way you do the name alot more justice than the original Seminole sammie ever did!!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Once again, pin(head)4life, your lack of reading comprehension skills is eye-popping.
I never bashed the team for drafting Beck, Henne or White. I'm simply saying that Henne can't play. Got it? Teams need some luck with QB's and the Dolphins have struck out. It's YOUR position that the team is trying to nickel and dime its way to a franchise QB. You're bashing the team, not me. And don't think I haven't noticed that now you're slipping "franchise" in front of "QB". That wasn't your original argument, now was it, pin?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Seminole Sammie Smith,

Jesus, you must be dizzy you`ve been walking in circles for about 18 hours now, contradict yourself much!!!

How do you know the "haters" aren't hopeful? Are you Nostradamous? Ghandi? You're lumping everyone together like you actually know. Give it a rest, all of you.

FinsFan72....

If your gonna use the phrase I coined....(ALL CAPS NO LESS).....can I at least get some credit....see post below.....
-------------------------------------------------------
2 Watt....I am at the point were I am neither Anti-Henne....or Pro-Henne.....I guess you could say I am nuetral Henne....Or Hopefull- Henne....

Thats Me....i'm a Henne Hopeful......

I can't make a decision about Henne until after the season starts......the FO has already made their decision.....or maybe I should say because of there lack of DECISIVE ACTION.....the decision was made for them.....

Posted by: kris | August 11, 2011 at 09:30 AM

Mando, writing about Henne having an up or down practice is absolutely worthless for us fans who are trying to judge his progression, so I wouldn't do it if I were you. I'd just report what the Coaches feel about his progression. Right now, that's the best judgment we could receive.

I was checking out earlier posts, and will only comment on the LeShore string, that it's silly to think the guy would have still gotten injured if we drafted him (and use that to say he's not as good as Ingram). That's just completely idiotic. Different team, different practice, different outcome. Injuries aren't planned (except in Odrick's case, since he was hurt when we drafted him), they are accidents. Just because a player gets injured doesn't make them any worse (or better) than another player, UNLESS they have a history of being injury-prone (eg. Channing Crowder). THEN you can say a player is better than another because he's injured less. But comparing 2 rookies, before they ever played a down in the NFL, because one got injured in camp, is beyond stupid.

Not asking for alot man.....

but it would have been nice.....

anyway.....water under the bridge....FIN Fan

FedUp-
When they say henne is garbage, the Fins will be 2-14, that's a clear signal they're not hopeful.

Read JFW's mantra again....

Can anyone say,,,YoYo ? :-)

pin4life,

Not one contradiction in my posts. Not one. So keep on spinnin', dude. Maybe you'll bump into a fact. LMAO!

As far as Brees goes, are you now backtracking from your earlier posts about the QB's we passed on? You did mention Brees as one of the QB's we passed on with the implication being that it was somehow widely known that he would become a "franchise" QB, right? The irony of it is that Brees was a second round pick, same as the guys we wound up drafting. The difference being that Brees became a player while Beck and Henne have not. It baffles me that you can't see the clear contradiction in the statements that you're putting out at record numbers.

The phrase "can't see the forest for the trees" was coined with you in mind, pin.

guys. give me a recap of the last 2 blog pages. to much to read.lol

DC, Agree with you on the up/down practice thing, but would also take what Sparano says with a 1/2 grain of salt.

sam don't forget about whaite.lol

Kris,

With no other option readily at our disposal count me in as a member of the Henne hopeful. Instead of some idiot who bashes the idea without offering up any solution. I wonder why even waist your time watching the team this season if your going to think like Semihoe Sammie Smith, follow the Pats if this is how you feel I say then they can fantasize about blowing Brady all year!!

Breaking News on Marhsall

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/11/disturbing-details-emerge-of-stabbing-at-brandon-marshalls-house/

Scary.

pin4life (dead serious tone): "If you don't like the team's QB, then pick another team because my brain can't handle the dynamic of Dolphins fans still loving the team but believing that our QB gives us little-to-no chance of winning. Plus, I have only two working brain cells in my tin head and you guys are seriously taxing both of them!"

Priceless!! LMAO!

Fin4Life.....

We are on the same page.....Henne Hopeful is all we can be......

Semihoe Sammie @2:10,

Go back to that post and re-read it because what I did was run down the players we passed on which included him and nobody is a sure fire can`t miss given I saw Ryan Leaf take apart a very good Michigan D in the Natl Champ game in 97 only to watch him fizzle in the NFL. I did however like what I saw out of Brees. In Miami we always equate great Q.B.`s with arm stregth when so many other intangibles play a part.

I grew up watching Montana who wasn`t going to win any throwing competitons but he had that it factor. You just new if he had sometime at the end he would pull it out thru the air and again he didn`t have a huge arm. So yes I liked Brees out of Perdue wasn`t sure he would get to the ranks of the elite but liked him alot more than Jay Fiedler who that very weekend in N.O. I saw hand it off to Lamar Smith for over 40 carries in our last playoff win because we didn`t trust him to pull it out.

I haven`t back tracked off of anything, at this point your just spinning everything to keep arguing for the hell of it.

72,

If negative posts bother you that much, why are you here? Step up or step aside.

No one needs to see you spamming to every negative post. Yours are as redundant as everyone elses & add zilch to the convo.

Stop trying to force feed your opinions & optimism on every one else. Everyone can think for themselves, they don't need you doing it for them.

As much as some here hate the pessimism, theres just as many who hate the cheerleaders.
If you don't like what you read, please locate the nearest exit.

Respectfully yours,

That's funny. The first two paragraphs of your 02:31 post were nothing but spin. Keep on spinnin', pin(head)4life, keep on spinnin'.

Actually, I think there's nothing further to argue, pin. You've already conceded that the Dolphins have tried to address the QB position on numerous occasions and on that we can agree. We disagree on what constitutes a "serious" attempts. No harm there.

31 out of 32. i suppose the experts dont know anything either.

Not one contradiction in my posts. Not one. So keep on spinnin', dude. Maybe you'll bump into a fact. LMAO!

I'm LMAO along with you Sham. As you add to your contradiction totals, you contradict yourself yet again.

Be very careful what you say to Circling Sham fella's, he has no common sense whatsoever.

Yesterday he couldn't even understand the concept that QB's in the NFL usually "come of age" in their third season.

Watch out now, he'll come back and say I'm lying because they actually came of age when they turn 18! What a DOLT :p

You thought Meg Ryan was Clueless in Seattle?

Circling Sham is Totally Clueless in Miami-ROTFLMAO!!!!

PS Sham: Henne! Henne! Henne! Henne!

Semihoe Sammie,

If you back to your 2:10 post were you try and weasel your way out of the argument regarding our attempts at drafting for the Q.B. position by going off competely into left field. You`ll notice I responded to your new on topic point relating to Drew Brees and were I was regarding his NFL potential. Your right there is no point in trying to hold any form of coherent debate or civil converstion with you.

And again I spend an entire day showing what a
Doooochebag anti-Dolphin, football illiterate I am.

Last night Odinseye slapped me down like a little beatch
Yet I in the face of statistics and proof, I did what I do
U denied, denied, denied, thinking I'm smarter then the experts

I'm a little weenie, with a little weenie
And a huge know it all.

Ignore me in the future cause I'm a M.O.R.O.N

Fin4life,

Don't argue with the Clueless one.

He makes points(in his own mind)by ignoring common sense and TRIES to resort to semantical strawman arguments.

Example:

Fin4life: Football is a mans game!

(everyone agree's, EXCEPT circling sham. He replies):

Sham: Bullshyt, you liar, The Lingerie Football League has women playing football every year.

Well this is a bad example actually. Because I'm sure sham has no idea what lingeries football is considering his favorites "SPORTS" bar is the Gay Berets Rainbow Room!

My twin brother Seminole has always been a jackoff

kris-
I apologize for not giving you credit on the "Henne Hopeful" quote. You came up with the brightest thing I've read on here in days.

I wish everyone could see the brilliance of your idea. I'm no Henne apologist, nor a blind optimist, nor a rah rah cheerleader.

I'm just a fan who's hopeful Henne will improve this year. Wouldn't bet the house on it, but I am....a Henne Hopeful! (Copyright kris) LOL!

Duhhhhhh,

I have drafted more QBs on Madden then anyone here

I am a Legend in my own Mind

Odorseye,

The drunkard is out of the drunk tank and back on the blog!! Pretty sure the rotgut isn't too far out of your grasp. Now...

I noticed you didn't point out even one contradiction in my statements. So, I'll once again count you among the liars and obfuscators.

Further, I see that you've made a "massive" change in your original argument. Now you say, "QB's usually come of age in their 3rd year." That's quite different from your original argument of "almost all QB's take a massive step forward in the 3rd year!". Glad I could make you see the light. It's been my pleasure!

Just for you, Odorseye...

L-M-A-O!!!

odin @3:01

I was going to throw one last shot in there but why, your post says it all.

ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Odinseye, in all reality you make me look like
a whiney little beatch on my knees with my mouth
wide open ready to receive your manhood.

I am just an egotistical, clueless humper

Ladies, get a hold of yourselves & go bicker somewhere else. What a bunch of yenta's. You're all pathetic.

That means you Odin, seminole & fin4life specifically. Go be babies somewhere else. No one wants to read your piss & moan fest.

There are employees and then there are employers. I'm part of the latter group, you commoner.

Good day.

Get lost you losers!

There are about three to four converstions regarding Football going on at any given time on the blog. Feel free to ignore our debate and go with a different line of thought all together, in short learn to disregard what doesn`t F U C K E N concern you.

P.S. I am at work and on the blog at the same time see I can do both like walking and chewing gum at the same time!!!!

I wonder what will be the first to go, Odins Liver,Or kidneys?

My biggest fear isn't Henne, he will do just fine. Better than we expect and way better than cry baby fans deserve.

OL will be better tnan yester year but better yet when our perennial all-pro returns to the line-up.

Defense will be at least top ten. Minor fears at FS.

I am holding my breath to see the play calling, that alone could add two wins to last year.

Finally, with one day to go, has anyone heard one single word about Special Teams our this season going to tretch our string of pittifull
ST effort to four years in a row?

fin4life,

After your 3:18 post, I take back everything I said. You're alright with me! ;-)

Jack, Great Question, Seeing how fisty hasnt figured out the O-Line thing(His spicality) Iam sure S.Teams will also be a work in progress., For the 3rd stright year, Gotta think that Sparono at one time or another worked for the goverment.

Sam,

I don`t agree with you but you are a spirited debator

I will be the first one to go, silly!

Paragraph upon paragraph,. page after page....all it is, is 3 ho's catfighting.

GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fin4life just tore you a new one @ 03:18 using nothing but logic and you've got the nerve to return for more?? :smh:

Or do you BADLY want to be the 4th "ho"? LMFAO!!!

HENNE SUCKS!

Seminole Sam, Where you are wrong is "Henne cant play".

You can't go 7-9 in the NFL with a QB that can't play, especially on a team as disfunctional as last years dolphins.

I know you feel VERY strongly you are correct, however you are wrong.

The kid has talent, had very good talent out of college. That being said, you can not go 7-9 in the NFL on a crap team if YOU CANT PLAY.

He may not be good enough for your system, but he would be succesful in other systems, and hopefully the dolphins new system this year.

Seminole, the only thing torn on this blog is your Hymen.

Do the blog a favor & GET LOST YOU LOSER!

"The kid has talent, had very good talent out of college. That being said, you can not go 7-9 in the NFL on a crap team if YOU CANT PLAY."

You might be right about Henne, Poizen, but I don't think so. As far as going 7-9 on a crap team, I don't think the Dolphins were a crap team last year.

At any rate, we'll find out what Henne has this year. Period.

Poizen, you were talking to me about how I only think my opinion is the right one? What is this all about?

"I know you feel VERY strongly you are correct, however you are wrong"

Practice what you preach, friend. You tell everyone that none of us know anything for sure. Now, you are right & someone else is wrong?

I've seen it all today!

Seminole, the only thing torn on this blog is your Hymen.

Why you little 4th "ho"!

Yawn. You're so predictable, unimaginative & flat out boring.

GET LOST YOU LOSER!

lmao @ torn hymen! Verry funny indeed!

4th "ho"?

Let her be, Sam!

Joe, The reason I say that is what I stated is a fact, the world you live in... rember.

No one, and I mean no one can say CHAGD HENNE CAN NOT PLAY.

He proved HE CAN PLAY.

May not be good enough, but proved he can play. So I pointed out where there is a flaw in his statement.

It was not an attack on him, but as you like to say, it is a FACT.

If you go through the rest of my post I put it in perspective. As I said interpretation of tone, and what a person means by writing in blogs is a dangerous thing.

"May not be good enough, but proved he can play. So I pointed out where there is a flaw in his statement."

Posted by: Poizen

There is no flaw in my argument.

Not good enough = can't play

If you extend your argument, then Akili Smith "can play". I give you fair warning that you might be about to step into a trap. :-)
