Chad Henne was good again Wednesday.
No, I'm not going to write a daily report on his progress or lack of it. But I am somewhat committed to reporting how the Dolphins starting quarterback is performing when he does something of note.
And just as Sunday was noteworthy for Henne's fine play and Tuesday was noteworthy for his not-so-fine-play, Wednesday was another day on top.
"In the last four practices I’ve seen him make a jump," coach Tony Sparano said. "He’s practiced pretty well."
Henne on Wednesday completed a nice deep ball of 25 yards to Brandon Marshall during team drills. In team red zone drills, he dropped in a nice 5 yard pass to Anthony Fasano that was just out of reach of linebacker Koa Misi. He was generally accurate throughout the day.
Sparano, aware Henne has no real competition for the starting quarterback job, believes Henne can still improve despite not really being pushed by backup Matt Moore.
“One thing I’ll say about this guy is during the lockout on, he’s been really self-motivated," Sparano said. "He’s done a tremendous job that way. The challenges of the new system and him keeping up with that system and having command and being in command, that challenge has been good for him."

-Thanks man, but it's too late to try being polite!
Your hyperbole is astonishing..."almost all QB's, especially the good ones take a massive step forward in their thrid year". LMAO (again)!! Where do I start with that rubbish (with nothing to back it up)?
Posted by: Seminole Sam | August 10, 2011 at 06:26 PM
You blew it an exposed yourself(again)right there.
With one completely retarded paragraph you have proven that your at least one of the three following options:
A. Completely and totally ignorant when it comes to professional football.
What do I have to back it up-Duh? Come on, you can't be this stupid. How about Manning, Bree's, Brady, Griese, Bradshaw, Rapeleisburger, Young, Montana, etc, etc. I guess the only thing I have to back it up are the facts of the last 50 years of Pro Football. Duh-Duh, dipty dipty doo!
B. I'm not sure, but because the question is so incredibly ignorant, I suspect that are just trolling and maybe even possibly a fan of another team.
Just the same, my best educated guess would be:
C. BOTH! An ignorant troll-ROTFLMAO!
ValHalla!!!!

What have the QB's that Miami got rid of accomplished? i'll give you a hint: N-O-T-H-I-N-G.
Seminole Sam | August 10, 2011 at 05:42 PM
Sam,
What one thing do all of the Q.B.`s you mention here that have done N-O-T-H-I-N-G have in common?? None were drafted by the Miami Dolphins, when you say Henne is a bum are you suggesting we invest more of our future (Draft Picks) on the scrap heap known as the FA Q.B.?? FA is always tricky but were it`s really been steady is at the Q.B. position, teams will let a player at every other position walk before they let a proven commodity and integral piece of the puzzle like a caliber Q.B. go anywere.
If the definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results then the asylum known as the Dolphins FO has been run by the patients for quite some time now don`t you think?? Do you know what a Q.B. on the trading block is code for?? Aging, over-hyped and over-paid or a combination of the three, these players more than likely have one foot in the scrap heap but teams feeling the desperation of fanbases like ours who put alot of heat on there FO`s dangle them like bait and then trades like the Feeley, Culpepper things happen were later fans with short memories won`t remember that they were in favor of the move when it went down.
I say lay off of Henne let him play out the season he`s better than anything were going to bring in now. Like Darryl said it`s not in our best interest to have M.Moore beat out Henne and like fin72 told you the idea of finding a top knotch passer at this point is about the dumbest thing you could think of, it`s so dumb you should feel very embarrassed you even suggested it because it makes you sound like an idiot that doesn`t even get what the hell he`s talking about. You want a franchise can`t miss Q.B. guess what Froddo so does everybody here but we will find that person on draft day not on some NFL SCRAP HEAP!!!!

odinseye,
Way to not answer my question(s)!! You get an A+!!
Your premise, as best understood, appears to be that Henne, like "almost ALL QB's" will make "massive" progress in his 3rd year. I'm saying to you, you dunce, that this statement is wildly inaccurate, especially as it applies to "almost all QBS".
Do you need me to name some people on the long, long LIST OF THE QB'S THAT DIDN'T GET BETTER IN THEIR THIRD YEARS? Are you even remotely aware of the FACT that the list of QB's who don't make it is far more extensive than the list of those who do ("Pat White, calling Pat White"!:for example:)
You lack of intelligence is only surpassed by the total inability to recognize same.
Wait...wait for it...wait for it...
LMAO!!!!!!!

I tell ya, I'm surrounded by complete, utter idiots today.
First, without even doing any research I can tell that we have drafted QB's and gotten rid of said QB's. So there goes that argument.
Second who said anything about "top-notch" QB's and when, just when, did I, Seminole Sam, suggest that we go out and get one? Fried (or whatever his name was) said we should go out and get a proven first stringer, not necessarily a "star" or a "top-notch player".

Sam,
I think your the one that simply doesn`t want to get the fact that everybody is hoping Henne can simply hold the fort while we find the long term solution down the line. I`ve been bloging on here with odin long enough to tell you that the 1st guy who is going to go and start digging for every possible upgrade to the Q.B. position at seasons end will be him coming back and posting the best available, flying under the radar, sleepers ect...
He like alot of us want this done through the draft while others like yourself want us to keep mortgaging pieces for the next AJ Feeley. I got a proposition for you instead of calling everybody names why don`t you post who these supposed upgrades are that we can go get right now or quite rambling like an idiot without a cohesive thought in his BRAIN!!

Hoping for Henne won't make him better. The real issue is this FO is wasting too much time with him.
This is their 4th season after taking over a 1-15 team that has been without a legit QB for over a decade. In 4 years, just like all the other loser FO's before them they still haven't corrected the most glaring problem. So yes, fans complain, as they should.

Yeah, just keep holding hands with "odin" and see where that gets you.
Anyway, another idiotic post by you. Do you get paid by the minute or by the volume? I'm banking on the latter.
Pressing on, when did I say that we should be "mortgaging pieces" for players [who can't play (like, for example, Feeley)]?

Howdy all,
I can't stand it but Henne is basically ALL the Fins have going into the season at QB. Moore and Devlin are break glass in case of major emergency types.
As a fan (of the Dolphins as a team) I will learn to live with it somehow. I know that down the road I will be staring at my TV wondering how this type of thing can happen to our Fins regarding a 3 and out or an ill timed Int.
The thing that has me deadly curious is, what is it that Sparano (who Ross shopped in his face for TS's replacement) and Ireland (who knows his fate may well be tied to Sparano's) said to be in this position?
I mean Ross, the Billionaire, has stated publicly that he wants more points and an entertaining offense...They get Cleveland's high flying OC Daboll? Ross also stated that "there will be competition at QB to push Henne."...And Ireland and Sparano deliver Moore and Devlin?
I know they get to see things in camp from a view that we don't have but I can't help but wonder "what in the hell are Ireland and Sparano using as a safety net?". What are they to do if Henne plays only as good as last year or worse?
I am beyond the countless blog entries of Henne's good enough vs no he sure as Hell isn't verbal tennis matches.
For the umpteenth zillion time, I am on the Henne will be decent but never stellar. He will be too hot and cold to lead us to any promise lands imho. I die with the Fins week in and week out and I grow weary of this 3 year starter QB on the job interview. The guy is a full grown man, he is from a huge school in Michigan and has 950+ actual live throws in real NFL games. He already has had plenty of time to develop. If people want to send further wattage to that bulb in hopes it goes on...that's all you.
I am sick and tired of any more excuses. Not the playbook, not the OC, not the unsettled line, not the players around him, and the ever popular "coaches handcuffs" holding Henne back and demanding he check down. (that one really cracks me up).
Before I digress too far, I will just leave it at that.
In the end, Henne supporters have won out. If he flops the cost of the 2011 seasons price is on your head. The easy thing that flows off Henne backers lips are... "Don't worry, if Henne fails this year, we draft a 1st round QB next year". Super, can't wait for that 3-4 year adventure to begin all the way into next year.
I'll trudge on hoping that all the boo's at camp practices are giving Henne more fuel to break out. Do it Henne. Prove me and anyone that ever doubted you wrong...if you have the stones.
Cheers,
