Chad Henne was good again Wednesday.
No, I'm not going to write a daily report on his progress or lack of it. But I am somewhat committed to reporting how the Dolphins starting quarterback is performing when he does something of note.
And just as Sunday was noteworthy for Henne's fine play and Tuesday was noteworthy for his not-so-fine-play, Wednesday was another day on top.
"In the last four practices I’ve seen him make a jump," coach Tony Sparano said. "He’s practiced pretty well."
Henne on Wednesday completed a nice deep ball of 25 yards to Brandon Marshall during team drills. In team red zone drills, he dropped in a nice 5 yard pass to Anthony Fasano that was just out of reach of linebacker Koa Misi. He was generally accurate throughout the day.
Sparano, aware Henne has no real competition for the starting quarterback job, believes Henne can still improve despite not really being pushed by backup Matt Moore.
“One thing I’ll say about this guy is during the lockout on, he’s been really self-motivated," Sparano said. "He’s done a tremendous job that way. The challenges of the new system and him keeping up with that system and having command and being in command, that challenge has been good for him."
Notice whenever Tony says how great a player is doing, how well they prepared (Gerbil Wilson for example), it means they are trying to trade them or cut them.
Now he is saying he is impressed with Henne only after they missed on Orton.

For the past two years I have listened to ex-QBs, Scouts, Coaches all people who ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN IN THE NFL, all state that the QB position takes 3 years, or 48 starts to properly evaluate. Then I come here where a bunch I'd dudes who spend their time either playing Madden or playing with themselves pronounce themselves so much smarter. Sorry, I will take the NFL guys over a bunch of fry cooks who probably failed gym in High School, much less ever played a down of football.

It's just that hopes springs eternal in the preseason. It makes a lot of us forget about what we've witnessed previously, you know, like when the throws actually mattered in a game and Henne threw the ball DIRECTLY a defenders for pick sixes. I'll be the first to say I was wrong though if Henne can get it together. Need I say I'm not holding my breath?

We drafted GIMMICK Q.B. Since Marino we've had Fiedler and that's it. Since then we mortgaged our future picks time and time again, all for naught. Try to stay with me Einstein. For almost 10 years, all those free agent QB's have cost us to much and caused us nothing but pain and suffering.
Finally we use a 2nd round pick so we can try and develop a QB. You know, the way the sucessful teams USUALLY do it. Henne's had his two years to get it. It is now sink or swim time. This is USUALLY the point you can really find out if a QB is a keeper or not.
But no, because you are so GD stupid, you want to pull the plug and start all over again-REGARDLESS.
Forget the fact that we really don't have any other options. Lets be too stupid to see it through and find out what we really have-Duh.
Hey, Duh, I know, lets give up some MORE draft picks and mortgage our future for some other cast off or some other guy that hasn't even proven he's as good as the guy we got.
Why worry about drafting a QB next year, or any other positions for that matter when we can spend up our picks this year on some of the same old same old garbage retreads we've been investing in for the past 10 years.
