Henne: He's up, he's down, he's up again

Chad Henne was good again Wednesday.

No, I'm not going to write a daily report on his progress or lack of it. But I am somewhat committed to reporting how the Dolphins starting quarterback is performing when he does something of note.

And just as Sunday was noteworthy for Henne's fine play and Tuesday was noteworthy for his not-so-fine-play, Wednesday was another day on top.

"In the last four practices I’ve seen him make a jump," coach Tony Sparano said. "He’s practiced pretty well."

Henne on Wednesday completed a nice deep ball of 25 yards to Brandon Marshall during team drills. In team red zone drills, he dropped in a nice 5 yard pass to Anthony Fasano that was just out of reach of linebacker Koa Misi. He was generally accurate throughout the day.

Sparano, aware Henne has no real competition for the starting quarterback job, believes Henne can still improve despite not really being pushed by backup Matt Moore.

“One thing I’ll say about this guy is during the lockout on, he’s been really self-motivated," Sparano said. "He’s done a tremendous job that way. The challenges of the new system and him keeping up with that system and having command and being in command, that challenge has been good for him."

What an amatuer, I've been VERY ambidextrious since the second grade.

Rookie!!!!

Thanks Kris, I'm quickly learning who I will be ignoring from now on and who the real fans are.

fin4life,

Wow. Now you're qualifying your erroneous assertion(s) even further, by now saying that not only must the QB have been drafted higher than rd. 6, but he must also have been a "non-gimmick" QB. Sheesh, next you'll be saying that the QB has be at least 6'3" to merit conversation. Move the goalposts much?

By the way, more than one NFL analyst said that he thought Pat White could be a traditional QB and the trifecta, for what it's worth, said early and often that Pat White was not drafted to be a Wildcat QB, but to be a QB.

.... Cause I am "LouD" when they penetrate me from behind without lub.

Just so were clear......that is not THIS Kris......

and while I disagree with Seminole Sam's dismissive assesment of Henne....(i'll reserve judgement until Sep 12th....around Midnight)....

I do believe that Sam is making the better argument.....up to this point.....

kris | August 10, 2011 at 07:38 PM

Kris, have you even bothered to read what my opinion on the subjest is because nowere have I said that Henne will ever be more than serviceable. I simply stated since the argument was about players to play Q.B. this season that what solution at this point works for us really or is in our better interest.

I for one want a player with true FRANCHISE potential to be aquired thru the draft, next years class looks very promising, thats all nothing more nothing less but everytime I tried to convey this the argument got spun in a different direction by Sam in an attempt to argue for arguments sake before you judge a persons point of view at least take the time to see what there stand is. I`ll give you an example like the followng paragraph.

I say lay off of Henne let him play out the season he`s better than anything were going to bring in now. Like Darryl said it`s not in our best interest to have M.Moore beat out Henne and like fin72 told you the idea of finding a top knotch passer at this point is about the dumbest thing you could think of, it`s so dumb you should feel very embarrassed you even suggested it because it makes you sound like an idiot that doesn`t even get what the hell he`s talking about. You want a franchise can`t miss Q.B. guess what Froddo so does everybody here but we will find that person on draft day not on some NFL SCRAP HEAP!!!!

fin4life | August 10, 2011 at 06:53 PM

If you go by the 2009 Henne, there's some reason to hope that he'll improve and have a good season. If you go by the 2010 Henne, you'll probably conclude that he's going to flunk out.
I suspect he'll do a decent job this year and end up as the second best QB in the AFC East, with Fitzgerald third and Sanchez fourth.

LOU D. BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

AFTER READING WHAT SPARANO SAID ABOUT HENNE I CHANGE MY STANCE.

HE'S GETTING CUT BY THE END OF THE WEEK.

What is a "punky brewster"?

Kris

Just stick to football and stop trying to be a detective. You should investigate were your wife was last night instead if you really need to :---)))

THE GANG OF FOUR IS A REFRANCE TO CHIN'S (( GANG OF FOUR )) AFTER MAO DIED ......

1-S.SAM
2-JUDGE
3-JOE SHAMOE
4-KRIS................THESE FOUR NOT FOR BEING DEFEAT MEMBERS BUT FOR USING THE KEYBOARD AS A WEAPON TO FRIGHTEN US.......

Hey what happened to FRIED-

The guy who said we should go out and get a "proven 1st string" QB this year?

I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them Sam the Sham.

Chad Henne is our QB and all the gripping isn't going to change that. Support Chad. All the whining pups would be the first to jump on his band wagon if he had a stellar year. Yes I'm old, I have been a devout fan even before Coach Shula, Bob Griese, Larry Csonka, Jim Kiick, Mercury Morris, Paul Warfield, and the great No Name Defense. Chad is fighting this year for his job and career. He knows is now or never for him. He deserves our support if you are really a true Dolfan. I've witnessed Miami's greatness and I've seen its downside. If it doesn't work out he knows he had every oppurtunity to perform and what the organization needs to right our wrong.

"All quarterbacks, even the ones that don't win playoffs and Superbowls make it or break it in their third year."

Posted by: odinseye

First, let me say that is not true either, but I digress.

Second, that's not what your original post said, now is it? You said almost all QB's make massive progress in their third year (especially the "good" ones, right?). How convenient of you to now clumsily concede that the third year can be their "break" year, which is what I was trying to convey to you (what a conincidence!). When losing a debate, just pretend that you were just funnin' the first time around, huh?

LOL @ Aloco.

You can always get off by using both hands. As if it was cold, you know.

Was that a weak post? I'm anxious to learn.

Has Matt Moore done anything noteworthy in camp thus far?

That's a VERY reasonable position, fin4life. I only wish that you had stated that even once in your previous vitriolic posts. Good on ya!

I SURE DON'T WANT TO BE KRIS'S WIFE OR BOY FRIEND .... ONCE HE HAS AN IDEA IN HIS BRAIN ,HE WILL NEVER LET IT GO .LIKE A VICOUS DOG WITH A BONE .

Fin4life.....

That post that you re-posted @ 8:11 PM.....

That was in regards to Odin/Sam only......

I felt like Sam was making more valid Points in their argument....perhaps Sam's thinking is more in-line with mine....

I do know your thoughts in respect to our QB position....and I respect your opinions and post on that subject.....

The only true reason i even weighed in was because I didn't want to be confused with the other kris who posted tonight......for the first time....

Yes, New Fan, he can use both hands.

Aloco, firstly..you may be the dumbest person on earth, let alone this BB. Anyone you echo their statements for is very telling about them. Which leads us to Loud.

Aside from whine about the naysayers, and get a chubby for every positive practice report, you're next biggest contribution here is the accuse people of hiding behind fake names. Really?

I shouldn't even comment? You're about as sharp as a butter knife today. I will say what I want. I implore you to stop reading or stop posting to me. It's quite simple.

Sorry, but the fact that people like you are so happy about PRACTICE reports shows you just how far this fan base is from expecting anyhting better than mediocre. You are a glaring example of that. Congrats, you earned a gold star!

Back to your practice report hugfest!

What Bone?

Second, that's not what your original post said, now is it? You said almost all QB's make massive progress in their third year (especially the "good" ones, right?).

-Yes, I made both statements. But, unless your retarded(ahem)the point of both statements was that Henne is in his third season(the "make it or break it" year). Now let me guess, if I don't include "as a starter" you'll call me a liar because it's technically his 4th season. Wow, you'll twist and spin anything and still your ignorance shines through.

How convenient of you to now clumsily concede that the third year can be their "break" year, which is what I was trying to convey to you

-You freakin idiot! This is EXACTLY what I was stated in my original post to you today. How lame can you be?

(what a conincidence!). When losing a debate, just pretend that you were just funnin' the first time around, huh?

-This is exactly what YOUv are doing now. Well, at least your not to stupid to know when your losing a debate.

WOW Kris you're right. Heard it before about the Herald doing this but now I believe it

Seminole Sam | August 10, 2011 at 08:08 PM

My erroneous assertion??? I asked you besides John Beck what Q.B. we`ve drafted since the Danny hey day and you give me P.White?? By asserting that the idea all along was for him to be a traditional Q.B. in a base Offense??? You really can`t be this ignorant, you really didn`t understand what I meant when I posted the question??

You really believe for one minute that after investing a high 2nd Rd. pick on Henne in 08 that they drafted White to be anything else but our version of Brad Smith or for that matter the last player of his type Parcells had Ray Lucas who was a slash type played WR/QB/ST for Parcells in N.Y. what did you expect them to say, NO he`s going to play a variety of roles because we don`t feel he`s the complete package at Q.B. and by the way the only person who thought he could be an NFL Q.B. was John Gruden which explains why the talent fell of so quick in Tampa.

COCOJOE..............THERE'S A LOT OF NAMES IN BLUE WHEN YOU CLIK YOU GET THE HERALD PAGE,THAT'S WHERE OUR FRIEND ARMANDO HIDES .........BACALA

BTW Kris, I hardly ever sign in because some people know a way around it. forget who proved that a while back.

**RETARD ALERT**

Check it out. This duschebag is so stupid he copies and pastes me twice saying the third year is the make it or break it year and then CLAIMS that's what he was saying all along-ROTFLMAO.

What an idiot, read on:

WHEN YOU GO ON NAME AND IT BRING YUO TO HERALD HOMEPAGE ASURED ITS MANDO,KING OF IMPOSTERS AND HEAD OF GANG OF DEFEAT.

Cocojoe....the worst part is....i believe the blog would be 10X better without the shannanigans......

IF YOU CLICK ON THE BLUE NAME (( MIKE G )) YOU GET THE HERALD PAGE (( ARMANDO ))

So Aloco, you're sure Mando is behind it? Hard to believe but maybe you're right

"Hoping for Henne won't make him better."

Very true

" The real issue is this FO is wasting too much time with him."

False

He is only in his second year as a starter. It WOULD BE completely ignorant to throw away a second round pick after only one year starting because he didn't immediately become a success behind a crappy running game and only ONE starting caliber WR.

IMO

Kris that is enough with being Mr. Blog Police. Worry about your own silly statements.

The quantity may go down.....but the substance would go way up.....

Odinseye,

You really are retarded. Sorry, I can't help you.

WOW, this team is really going to STINK this year. Been a fan for 24yrs and back to back SORRY ass owners. Well at least we get LUCK next year. Bank on it.

COCJOE.... WE LIVE ON THE OF (( NO SHAME ))....COULD BE ARMANDO OR IT'S A COMMEN PRACTICE AT THE HERALD BUT IF YOU NOTICE NO OTHER BLOG IN THE HERALD HAS A BLUE THAT DIRECT YOU TO HERALD PAGE ...........

Kris, ain't no doubt about it. Maybe time to ask (email) Mando. Can't believe it's a live person doing it...maybe robot?

Kris,

That's two times you said I was losing a debate. I remeber you said something about a timex.

Anyways, if you think Sam was doing anything but trolling(let alone winning a debate)you must be a fake Kris or you weren't paying attention.

Sam got exposed and beaten so badly he's resorted hair splitting and looking for typos.

WE LIVE IN THE AGE OF (( NO SHAME ))

ODIN IS NOT RETARDED, HES INTOXICATED.
