Henne: He's up, he's down, he's up again

Chad Henne was good again Wednesday.

No, I'm not going to write a daily report on his progress or lack of it. But I am somewhat committed to reporting how the Dolphins starting quarterback is performing when he does something of note.

And just as Sunday was noteworthy for Henne's fine play and Tuesday was noteworthy for his not-so-fine-play, Wednesday was another day on top.

"In the last four practices I’ve seen him make a jump," coach Tony Sparano said. "He’s practiced pretty well."

Henne on Wednesday completed a nice deep ball of 25 yards to Brandon Marshall during team drills. In team red zone drills, he dropped in a nice 5 yard pass to Anthony Fasano that was just out of reach of linebacker Koa Misi. He was generally accurate throughout the day.

Sparano, aware Henne has no real competition for the starting quarterback job, believes Henne can still improve despite not really being pushed by backup Matt Moore. 

“One thing I’ll say about this guy is during the lockout on, he’s been really self-motivated," Sparano said. "He’s done a tremendous job that way. The challenges of the new system and him keeping up with that system and having command and being in command, that challenge has been good for him."

Let's see: Last 4 practices Henne has been re3ported to have 3 pretty good ones and 1 bad one. Dont know how you guys count but 3 out 4 is a pretty good average for the rest of the sane world.

Hmm.... If Henne lead 3 successful scoring drives and still needs to have a successful scoring drive to win the game late in the 4th qtr. but fails. That might now be a Henne problem, its called a defensive problem because your unit cant stop the opposition from scoring.

this offense is being built around henna's assets. that is something that should have been done last year. Go figure. He is starting to get it to click and gets this new system. He is the man to go to with the new playbook. This is all very positive for Henne this year. Drew Brees was worse than Henne at this point in his career as was Manning and several others. Give him a chance and don't jump on the first interception and he will do great!

If that incites you or makes you feel that I can't possibly be a fan of the team, then so be it. Henne has no assests. Not mobile, not accurate, not an improviser, can't read defense. The only offense you can design around him is take a knee.

Sanchez Aug 9th Practice Report:

• The Mark Sanchez-led passing game continued to sputter. Sanchez had TE Dustin Keller on a deep seam, but the throw was off target and broken up by S Eric Smith, who should've made the pick. Later, in a 7-on-7 drill, Sanchez made a terrific pump fake and lofted a nice deep ball to Santonio Holmes ... who dropped it.

• The No. 1 offense can't seem to get anything going in the two-minute drill. This time, starting at their 35, Sanchez was intercepted by S Brodney Pool, who caught a deflected pass that was intended for Keller.

• This was only Derrick Mason's second practice, but the former Ravens WR already is a factor. In a passing drill, he beat his man and hauled in a 35-yard TD pass from Sanchez. Later, in a red-zone drill, he got open in the back of the end zone and made a nice grab. After that, it was downhill for the offense inside the 20.

• During one of the breaks in practice, Sanchez worked on play-action drop backs from the 5-yard line, under the watchful eye of offensive consultant Tom Moore. Coordinator Brian.

Henne's has been good 3 of his last 4 practices and you thought he sucked! LOL...
