The Dolphins have lost again, this time to the Texans, 23-13. It's bad, folks.
The team is not only 0-2 but 0-2 at home. It's bad, folks.
The Dolphins are winless. Everyone else in the AFC East is undefeated. It's really bad.
Now Miami goes on the road three consecutive game, including trips to San Diego and the New York Jets.
All I can say is no one's job can be considered safe right now -- even if we're just two games into the season. It's bad, folks.

What bothered me the most was the uninspired play, for the most part, of the defense. It's like they've already given up on the coach and season. As a fan it just ticks me off...
Posted by: compcomplex | September 18, 2011 at 07:35 PM
That's what I think is the case. Just like the Canes with Shannon. They quit and stopped really trying. I bet Nolan ends up as the coach before the season is out.
Posted by: CanesRUS | September 18, 2011 at 07:39 PM
Brandon Marshall once again Posts decent numbers but fails on an easy td grab . Carpenter misses two fg, defense highly overrated. Sparano wastes a time out... Conditioning issues......
Posted by: Shaggy | September 18, 2011 at 07:39 PM
The Dolphins are a *expletive* JOKE! This team is a total trainwreck. Oooohhhhh, Henne looks better. Oooohhhhhh Thomas rushed for over 100 yds. Ooooooohhhhh Wake had another sack. Who gives a *expletive*!!! They're 0-2 and 0-2 at home AGAIN! People need to realize this is not a patchwork team. There is no easy fix. Every part of this team needs to be overhauled and if you think I'm wrong then you're the same idiot who though last year "wasn't that bad". Why do we accept mediocrity? Why do we constantly give excuses and see the "positive side" of failure? I for one am sick of it because this team is nowhere close to being even decent. In fact, if anything today proved only further that we are officially the worst team in the AFC East. Awesome.
Posted by: Rob M | September 18, 2011 at 07:39 PM
Someone wrote about this team being .500? Are you kidding me, they'll be LUCKy to win 3 games this year. At this rate, Sparano will be gone by the Bye...to bad Ireland won't be following him out the door.

I have said before that most of these Great Coaches from the Past were crazy. And, of course, their handpicked ones, prove it.

..Dying Breed. Your point earlier about the whole team not being ready..Weather it be special teams, defense, offense, the cheerleaders...Is right on. We should have won that game today. Mistakes killed us.Physical, and mental. We cannot seem to play a game where we are playing well on all phases. One or two elemants of the team seem to be awful.Today it was special teams, and the play of the secondary(again)Today the secondary doesn't get a pass..They need to get better.
Oh,I forgot execution in the redzone...This is a whole other topic
The disheartening part of todays game. Was offensivley this was the blue print for successs. We ran the ball great, turned it over.but ran it. We didn'thave to get into an arms race,and...Had plenty of opportunities to take over.
The redzone efficiency is going to keep killing this team until we find a way to develop an attitude that erases our allergic reaction to execution in this area. This falls on the coaching. Sorry..We have seen this for 2 years now. We will continue to bottom feed if we cannot score TD's. It puts to much pressure on every area of the game when we cannot convert.

fishs Offense looks like a top 25 unit .....or is that our defense that looks like a top 25.....thats pretty bad considering this is our only hope....could we get anything for bush b4 its too late??>...just sayin!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | September 18, 2011 at 07:40 PM
Out coached, out played, no O-Line, No Defense, again Marshall and Henne are the only heart of this team. Sparano needs to go, he might as have lost the locker room. Its pathetic, just like the last 15 years have been.
Posted by: Felix G | September 18, 2011 at 07:41 PM
Let's hope Carolina doesn't follow our mistake. Just because you have a Dan Marino on your team doesn't mean you don't need a defense.
Let's hope they spend money on a defense next year.

what do you think of your teams execution Mr. Ross.......I'm thinking of an open pit and a single round to the back of the head should do the trick....then send an invoice for the bullits to Bill Parcells

Posted by: zonk-39 | September 18, 2011 at 07:46 PM
the ol is a mess, now we could run the ball, but the pass protection is a MESS!!!, i can´t belive what i ´m gonna write, but Henne is actually playing good, but when he drops 3 steps and has a defensive player at his face every down, he won´t last the whole season, he´ll get injured.
Posted by: sagneul | September 18, 2011 at 07:46 PM
sparano was trying hard not to fist pump on the first FG attempt......this angered carpenter who was then hell bent on kicking low and wide .......DAM U SPARANO!!!

Posted by: zaphod | September 18, 2011 at 07:47 PM
Its going to be a very long year. There are so many problems, from ownership, coaching, mediocre talent, poor conditioning... How do you fix this? Ross is a terrible owner, he is not a football guy, he may be a big fan, but he does not understand the game enough to lead this once proud franchise. Ireland? He has done a terrible job getting the right players, the talent has not improved very much at all. The coaching? I was a TS fan, but I have to admit he seems like he is in way over his head. This organization from top to bottom shows no killer instinct, no knock out punch capability, no sense of taking advantage of opportunities or weaknesses on the other side of the ball. There are no play makers, the reason Bum Philips famously said Don Shula "can take his'n beat yours'n and then take yours'n and beat his'n" is because he knew how to motivate and get the most out of his players, and those teams always had a killer instinct, and made the most of opportunities, while making very few mistakes. This is like watching the Anti-Shula era Dolphins. Honestly, there is no easy fix here, and its sad what has happened to this proud franchise.
Posted by: db | September 18, 2011 at 07:47 PM
THERE IS NO WAY FOR THIS MANAGEMENT TO SURVIVE AN 0-3 START.
There is no way! If there is a way then you DolFANS are stupid beyond stupid.
If Ross had any, I MEAN ANY, football sense he would tank the rest of the season if we go 0-3.

..Also.We lost to a couple of teams that are better right now then us. Look at what New England did again today.Beat a S.D. team by 14 Brady had good numbers again. Rivers..had numbers similar to Henne last week. I'm not sure what I'm trying to say.. I'll start over.
We lost to a couple of teams that are better then us right now. As bad as it seems, there are a few things we can look at and find some positives...I know 0-2 there are no positives. Like I said above. We should have won this game. Would of should of could of doesn't cut it. We are one of the best teams in the NFL from 20 to 20. If that is where the game was won, we would be unstoppable. We have to overcome that mental block that keeps us out of the endzone. It is like a guy that drinks a lot of beer. Once you break the seal, you have to pee every 5 minutes...We need to break the freekin seel. It seems like once we do, we could have a chance.
Posted by: Darryl Dunphy | September 18, 2011 at 07:49 PM
I think we might be the worst 0-2 team in the league. I honestly don't see the point in waiting anymore, fire Sparano promote Nolan and give him 14 games to prove he deserves another chance at HC. Worst case back up the money truck to Cowhers house and give him the cash and keys to the kingdom.
Posted by: Ziggy | September 18, 2011 at 07:49 PM
ross should fire sparano tonight. We need a different coach. Sparano is a loser and his loser attitude is rubbing off on this team. Get a new coach.

Stick a fork in em, Sparano is done, good riddance, offensive line is his specialty, no wonder they are 0 and 2.
Posted by: jta | September 18, 2011 at 07:50 PM
We will lose to the Browns next week. How could we possibly win?

NOLAN!! by 9:AM TOMORROW!! THIS GUY IS REALLY ABD COACH
Posted by: perro | September 18, 2011 at 07:50 PM
Time to pull the Kirby out of the closet and clean house.
Lets put a sign out in front of Dolphin Stadium and dump whatever we can before the trading deadline ala the FL Marlins.
Then we can find somebody that knows what to do with those draft picks and hire him.
Finally, hire Sula as team president and ask him how to fix this franchise. Maybe we should actually do that last step first.

Ziggy,
I guarantee if Ross fires Sparano even tomorrow. That fool will bring in Gruden. The mess will get even messier!
Posted by: DyingBreed | September 18, 2011 at 07:53 PM
Armando....do you have anything insightful to offer? Probably drinking a Corona and sorrows away. I understand.
Posted by: We need Marino back | September 18, 2011 at 07:53 PM
we would actually be 0-7 dating back to last year....what a turnaround....o yea, and we still suck balls at home...BACK TO FOOTBALL ANYONE????
Posted by: superPHIN | September 18, 2011 at 07:53 PM
I just don't understand why they came out playing with no energy at all on both offense and defense. I am a full fin fan and will never root against them but this is getting crazy. But no one can blame these loses on Henne. He has shown alot of improvement. I just can't believe our O-Line is still this bad. I still don't think we are the worst team in the league.
Posted by: bk | September 18, 2011 at 07:54 PM
You were right, Ross, in trying to replace TS. But I guess that's why we here are nothing and you are a Billionaire. And that's the Truth, Ruth.
Posted by: oscar canosa | September 18, 2011 at 07:54 PM
The Andrew Luck clock is ticking...hire Cowher next year and give him ANYTHING he wants...i also have supported Sparano and Ireland..i am officially done
Posted by: heirshouse | September 18, 2011 at 07:54 PM
All the usual catch phrases will now ins sue following another home loss. We have to learn and move on, we got to watch the film and get better, it's fixable, we had too many negative plays blah blah blah... We could go 0-16 and these clowns will have an excuse for it. I'm tired. Is this failing forward fast?
Posted by: kingsmith | September 18, 2011 at 07:55 PM
This should make you guys happy.
HENNE IS THE ONLY ONE PLAYING THAT'S WORTH A DAMN! He isn't great but he's playing like he cares.
Its like the whole team, except Henne, has given up on this management.
Posted by: Los Lobos | September 18, 2011 at 07:55 PM
Tony Sparano is now just embarrassing himself by remaining coach. You wonder if he sees he is being outcoached week in and week out. Does he realize he is the biggest problem?
