Coaching hot seat needs to chill until after season

In two of the three newspapers that regularly cover the Miami Dolphins, today's editions include opinion pieces on how coach Tony Sparano is on the hot seat.

One treatment, in this publication, cites a friend of owner Stephen Ross as saying the owner is unhappy with the team -- join the crowd, Mr. Billionaire. The piece also quotes the mystery friend as saying Ross believes the team is not holding up its end.

(Hopefully when Ross promises to forever stop selling Jets shirts in his own team store, stops scheduling Florida Gator Lovefests in the stadium the University of Miami leases from him, and actually shows up on a week day to work around his team rather than just parachuting in on game day, we'll be able to say he's holding up his end.)

Anyway, the other opinion piece in The Palm Beach Post makes the point that if the Dolphins are 0-4 at the bye week -- which would assume losses at Cleveland this weekend and at San Diego the next, then Ross should fire Sparano. And hire Mike Nolan.

Wow.

Where to begin? OK, how's this:

Wrong.

I know it is not the popular opinion. I know that even on this Dolphins fan forum, many of the team's supporters won't agree. But firing Sparano without letting him finish what he's started is exactly the wrong thing to do.

First, let's address this from a practical standpoint. History says that changing coaches midstream in a season solves absolutely nothing. Quick, tell me what NFL team in the past decade has fired its coach during a season and solved its problems well enough to make the playoffs?

Yeah, I can't think of any, either.

Secondly, who do you want to replace Sparano at the midpoint in a season? Jon Gruden is busy. So is Bill Cowher. Rob Ryan, whose name is making the rounds lately, is busy as well. Elite guys like Jeff Fisher don't take over teams at midseason.

So that means the Dolphins would have to go inside the organization for the solution. Yes, cough, that sounds like, cough, a solution.

You want Mike Nolan to succeed as coach? The same Mike Nolan whose defense is ranked last in the NFL? The same Mike Nolan whose best thinking was to ask Benny Sapp to cover Wes Welker man-to-man? I don't think so.

Yes, Nolan did fine work with the Dolphins last season. I get that logic. Sparano did fine work in hiring Nolan last season and took the team to the playoffs in 2008. So, I imagine you get that logic.

What else you got? Didn't think so.

The Dolphins are indeed 0-2 and there's nothing good about that. But the truth is they lost to New England. The Patriots are a Super Bowl contender. They lost to the Texans. That team is expected to win the AFC South. Disappointing? Sure.

Devastating? No.

The Dolphins play Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City, Washington, Oakland and others that they can and should beat this season. They will face up the Jets as they always do. Same with Buffalo. Yes, they have to upset clubs such as Philadelphia, the Giants to salvage a playoff berth.

But that is possible. You're going to say replacing the coach now and going with someone else will make any of this more probable?

Then there is this: Many of you have continually hoped out loud the Dolphins would not fare well this season so they can draft a franchise quarterback. I'm not on board with such thinking. But for those of you that want to "Suck for Luck" should probably want the Dolphins to continue their current course.

I don't agree with that thinking, but that is out there.

Look, Sparano and his assistants and players and front office will be evaluated after this season is over. That's how it should be. That's fair and right. But to pull the rug out now? Or in two weeks?

What will that resolve? It is change for change's sake.

Totally agree Armando. Let the coach work and finish the process, then will be time to make the adjustments.

SullysPhins, kris...yes, exactly. The NFL season for me has been reduced to anxiously awaiting the release of the schedule to see if there are 9 or 10 teams that might be more poorly run than we are.

I no longer expect to win games, especially against the better teams.

It's unacceptable.

And to add injury to insult, having to watch Brady yuk it up on the sideline after torching us from the 1 yard line was a major kick in the shin.

And we're just supposed to take it? No thanks, no more.

Coaches is not the problem wait a minute yes that are. They are scouting and are not scouting good and keep bringing back players that they cut. Try new faces

Coaches is not the problem wait a minute yes that are. They are scouting and are not scouting good and keep bringing back players that they cut. Try new faces

THE STOCK MARKET WAS DOWN 400 POINTS.OIL LOST 9% OF IT'S VALUE ............

ARMANDO LOVES SPARABO TO STAY UNTIL END OF THE YEAR ,SO HE CAN A LOT OF ARTICLES ABOUT THE LOUSY STATE OF THE DOLPHINS ..................

NY "G",

you're absolutely right about Dez! After the embarrassment about the "Ho" inquiry (and the fact that his mom turned out not to be a ho after all, as far as we know) it would only have been common courtesy to draft him and sign him to a nice big contract.

EPIC FAIL.

Well everytime i think you arent as dumb as i think. You prove me wrong again. Are you srrious. yes fire him. Period. Just fire him. Then you call Mr Cower and tell him to come in watch the games see what he has to work with next yr and fire the ones that arent worth 5.00 bucks. We are sick as fans supporting a loozing team over and over. ut to watch this idiot run our team and some dumb ass writing about it is getting sick and insane..So please Mr .Ross from tyour fans who pay you make th ebleeding stop. =

SPACE MAN ,

WHO ARE THE PLAYERS WHO ARE WORTH 5 BUCKS ?

new post up

Ross is not the problem and for those of you who think he is are well just plain foolish and well brain washed from numerous sources. Yeah he screwed up the 1pm to 4pm kickoff advantage but other than that everything is minor. We need a new GM and head coach and he's got the money to get it done and that's what is role is for this team. He is our Wallet! Deal with it! Unless we win every game from here on out then we should (hate to say it) stay course in losing to gain the #1 overall pick get ourselves the next Marino with a piece here and there and instantly be sb contenders and finally be done with the worst drafting and trading in dolphin history! End of the year fx and GM got to go but not before then. But no matter what happens dolphin fan for life!

Don't know if Lombardi ever said that, but I do know what Bum Philips said about the Don:

"He can take his'n and beat yorn, then he can take yorn and beat his'n".

I really miss Shula these days.

Sparano is a joke..........3rd and 15 from the 22?? Let's play it safe and run a draw. $th and 1 down by 10 deep in your own territory.....let's pretend to run a play and try and draw the defense off-sides and burn 35seconds AND a timeout. He sucks!! A joke!!

Count me in amongst the people who want us to tank the season and get Andrew Luck or one of the other top QBs in this year's draft class.

The fact of the matter is that the surest way to become a superbowl contender is to draft a quality quarterback high in the first round.

We've endured a decade of terrible football. Going 8 and 8 no longer interests me. I want to be relevant again, and I know that a 7 and 9 season isn't going to do anything except kick us out of range of drafting a quality quarterback this year.

We're going nowhere with Henne. Until the QB problem is addressed through the draft, mediocrity is the best we can hope for. That's no longer acceptable for me.

If we lose to Cleveland this week then I think Ross should start looking for a new coach! If you are a true Miami fan you have higher standards then whats going on right now.

Losing to Cleveland is rock bottom! If Sparano had any class the guy would just quit instead. He is the most overpaid idiot in the league right now!

David,
Henne is in the last year of his contract.
Matt Moore will be the starter next year.

I'm with Eschenpod at this point. "Suck for Luck" baby!!!

Focusing on Mando's premise that coaches taking over during the season don't impact the team positively. Well Jason Garrett turned the Cowboyas around last year, and made THIS season a quite possible playoff year.

I don't think there's a fan here who would have a problem with THAT scenario.
8-8, but playing solid, tough-nosed SMART football the rest of this year?
I'll take that.
I believe Nolan has given up on Tony. You've GOT to know he's licking his chops right now, and is sore at Ross for by-passing him during the off season for the run at Harbaugh.

Nolan must be embarrassed just talking to his peers with other teams.
Conversation goes like this "hey Nolie, what's it like working with that HC of yours?..haha. Hilarious off season for you guys. At least it was to US."

Problem is, our personnel, thanks to Tony and Ireland is such that Lombardi would struggle. But at least they would play and practice hard.

What's up fellas!! Been a few for sure the job has me glob trotting. This article is one I agree with but for different reasons.

1) All Interim HC's either get the job at years end or leave I would like to keep him as a DC and don't think with all due respect to this article that Nolan got DUMB over night. I think that either Sapp or Carroll get smoked by Welker given Sapp had actually showed more up to that point. It's like Garry Stevens said long ago about having the horses and I quote you can't make chicken salad out of chicken c h i t and we just don't have the DB's including our up and down ELITE starters.

2) In Fisher, Cowher and Gruden you have exactly TWO YEARS experience running an NFL team and that by Chucky who blew chunks in destroying Tampa. The other two never had a hand in their respective Organizations. We all know these 3 will NOT come here without the Organizational control and it leaves me wondering????

3) I say fire the man responsible for hand picking the squad in Ireland if your looking for not holding ones end of the bargain. I know he has found a share of players but he has put together a flawed and incomplete team. I know you all remember Joey Porter exploding in 07 and what JT did sounds similar. So it's going SOUTH and QUICK. FIND a young NFL Exec and run with it from the Coaching staff down, none of the people mentioned will do anything but sell tickets at 1st before the warts pop up so personally I've had enough do it right top to bottom or we can have this same conversation in a couple of years while living the NFL version of the TWILIGHT ZONE!!!!!!

You can't give up after two games or 16. I am with Mando on this one.

Armando, I usually agree with you on most things but in this instance, you missed the raft.

First, 2 out of 3 papers see a problem and mentioned the hot seat. That is a majority no matter how you slice the Cuban bread.

Second you said: "...without letting him finish what he's started is exactly the wrong thing to do." My question to you is this: what exactly did he start that needs to be finished? Putting together a crappy team? blame doesn't apply to just Direland; Scrapano also is at fault because all the decisions get mulled over between the GM and the coaches. They all suck.

Third, I don't buy the argument that 'well, it was New England or a good Texan team that we lost to'. Are you kidding me? Who the hell are we supposed to beat, the cream puffs? I haven't seen a thing to indicate that the Phins are progressing. They are as inconsistent as alway with the exception of being consistently bad at home.

The offense is inconsistent, and the defense has so many holes in it that it is beginning to look like abuela's colador. Remember that one? the old metal mesh strainer all bent out of shape. Well, there you have it, the Dolphin D, many holes and bent out of shape.

We just don't have a good team. They look lethargic, unexciting, unprepared, and like a bunch of deer caught in the headlights of an uncoming semi, they are going to get squashed.

I used to like Scrapano, but I have lost most of my respect for him as a coach. And Direland, he is just a useless turd in a suit and tie who has no clue how to draft and put a winning team together.

It isn't about winning or losing games, it is about how the game is playes. It is painful to see the Phins play. I have been following the Phins since the late sixties and know the difference between greatness, good, average and pi_ss poor. Right now, the Phins aren't average, they are simply p i s s poor.

So here is my argument: give Scrapano the next four or five games. He breaks even, and he stays for the remainder of the year. He loses most or all the games, then he must be let go along with Direland. The sooner the Phins tear down the walls and start rebuilding (AGAIN) the better. Ross won't sell out another home game if he chooses adhere to the status quo. He might get sell outs for Jets and NE games only because of the number of transplants in this state. But, watch and see... the stadium will be half full if that.

I agree with ericatl,
What Ross did to Tony last year is not what a top coach would want his boss to do to them! It will be hard to recruit a Gruden, Fischer or Cowher. This "Suck for Luck" thing is rediculous. We have too many good players with pride in our locker room to lose all our games for all that matters-they will probably be 8-8 or somewhere around there. We are not the worst team-infact-still have faith for a winning season. Leave Sparano in for the year!

True Miami fans support their teams through thick and thin. Besides, the last time the Dolphins started 0-2, they finished 11-5.

I read earlier were someone asked in a post about who had coached a team and won the SB while coaching for four years in the last 10 who didn't inherit a Champ and the answer is simple, Mike McKarthey 2010 G.B.

Another was talking about how Lombardi said he could take his beat you on Sat. then take your and beat you on Sunday (genius talk from a god, who later was more than mortal in Wash.) All I have to say to that is when the Cowboys opened 0-2 in 93 Jimmy said, sombody get Emmit in Here!!! (he was holding out) They would finish 12-4 while winning a 2nd Title, guess JJ was another genius, HOW ABOUT THEM DANG SMART POSTS!!!!

Tom. I thought that they'd go 8 and 8 as well, but if we lose to the Browns, it looks like a 3 maybe 4 win year. For me to get a good feeling and, like the Mad Dog used to say, have my toes tingle, the Phins will have to win at least 3 of the next four and actually win the next game we have here at home.

MSER, how exactly would you define "true Miami fan"? I am a fan, born and raised in Miami but many years ago I stopped being fanatical. There is a difference. Fans can see the good and the bad and admit when the team sucks. We don't see things through rose colored glasses; we see what it right there starring us in the face, in this case a sucky team that hasn't done squat in years. So, if seeing the truth makes me a false fan, then I am guilty. I just refuse to send accolades and be all rah rah for a team that has not merit it. That would make me a hypocrit, which I refuse to be in the name of fanatism.

Jimmy Johnson after the 1st title in Dallas had a sting as host of late night theater on TNT and I happened to be watching when he said that North Dalls Forty is the greatest drama of all time surpassing the Godfather, once again the mind's of these coaching geniuses!!!!

The Dolphins need to keep Sparano until the end of the season so we can have the worst record and get the first pick - damn, Seattle sucks, Carolina sucks but they'll win a couple with Cam (look out in the future), Cleveland sucks so we need to lose to them this week, Denver sucks so when we play them we need to lose - if we can go 2-14 or even 1-15 then we will be assured of the top pick. Amen.

Armando is correct - changing coaches in the middle of the season accomplishes nothing. Let him suck out the rest of the year and then see you later. I know the teams that contend every year are the teams that have long term coaches and I want the Dolphins to have a long term coach - just not Sparano. I'm sure he's a real nice guy - he's just not good enough to be the coach of this proud franchise.

fin4life - Lombardi didn't say that - Bum Phillips said that about Don Shula in 1980. He said "He'll take his'n and beat yours'n and then he'll take yours'n and beat his'n."

What's Tony Dungy up to?

His family is in florida. Miami is only several hours away.

That's who the fins need to get.

Sparano is a joke..........3rd and 15 from the 22?? Let's play it safe and run a draw. $th and 1 down by 10 deep in your own territory.....let's pretend to run a play and try and draw the defense off-sides and burn 35seconds AND a timeout. He sucks!! A joke!!
==========================================

Yes! This is the play that has been bugging me. I mean really, they were playing from behind the whole game but all of a sudden its time for tricks and treats.

Tony is stupid if he thinks Reggie Bush will run a Wildcat 2.0 behind this weak O-Line. Reggie ain't getting his knee blown out for anyone.

mserrania,

Who made you the guy who gets to decide who a "true dolphins fan" is?

Many of us who want the Dolphins to get the #1 pick this year have been Dolphins fans our entire lives and watch the games religiously. We're simply tired of the mediocrity and the revolving door at quarterback.

The year the Dolphins started 0-2 and finished 11-5, they had a soft schedule and a halfway decent quarterback. We have neither of this those things this year.

The best we can hope for against our schedule is a .500 record, no playoffs, and no draft pick next year that will allow us to fix our quarterback woes.

I'm simply being a realist. You usually need to be terrible first to become great in this sport.

I will watch every Dolphins game this year like I always do because, yes, I'm a true fan. But at the same time, it won't bother me at all to see us fail, because I know a savior at quarterback may finally await.

AGREE 100%
WELL SAID.

Say NO to Gruden...he won that superbowl with Tony Dungy's team. He is not a good coach. If you look at the years he was here in Tampa his record got worse every year as he lost the players from the superbowl team. Just ask Warren Sapp who is the biggest shyt head I've ever had the displeasure of meeting and he'll tell you Gruden is not the answer.

I say it's none of the above ... I'd like to blame the FANS for the dolphins having a bad home record ... it's a shame when the visiting team has more fans in the stadium than the home team . and it has to be a letdown by the players ... they feed of the energy of the crowd and when the crowd goes nuts because the visiting team just scored it has to be a buzz kill for the players , the visiting team is not having any problem changing plays at the line of scrimmage !.... you might say why can they win on the road then , well they love the idea of being a underdog , and they expect it on the road ! Dolphin fans should be ashamed of themseleves , i know i am ! I am a season ticket holder and will be cheering for the dolphins thru thick and thin ! i want to see the stadium fulled with dolphin fans during the denver game , i expect you all the show up ! GO DOLPHINS !

Armando, I normally agree with you with most of your articles but this one is one I have to say you are completely wrong. If the Fins go 0-5 within the next few weeks, both Sporano and Ireland should be fired. Too many dumb transactions were made in the off season. Too many quality players were missed, on both the draft & free agency. This loosing streak at home is reason enough to have both of them fired. The Fins have been and still are the laughing stock of the NFL. We are tired of mediocracy. Jeff Fischer with the right persuasion will come to Miami. Its our only hope. But if not then you try something else. For crying out loud, there are numerous fans that would do a better job than Ireland & SPorano.

I think firing Sparano mid-season would be fine...if we had a midseason bye. The problem is that four games is too early. We really want to limp through TWELVE GAMES with an interim coach? That's insane!

Sadly, we should let TS finish this season. Fire him after game 12 or so if we want to announce the opening that way.

But after four games would be a nightmare scenario.

PS: Please, all of you, stop the "suck for Luck" chant.

A: He's the 2nd best QB in college (hello Kellen Moore).

B: This time last year the big name was Locker. MAKE SURE HE'S THE RIGHT GUY. The #1 in September is often a 2nd rounder by April.

C: It just sounds stupid. Seriously. Don't be so dim that you think "suck for Luck" is witty. It is NOT.

Jon Gruden is not going to "Up and leave" his cushy little chair at MNF to come down here in Miami and deal will all of these front running, band wagon riding, boo'ing their own QB IN FRIGGIN PRACTICE...! Crappy Miami fans. And Bill Cowher has been out of Football for 31/2 or 4 years now. Bill Cowher would be a great, but once again, He is not going to leave his chair next to Dan, jump back in the NFL hot seat dealing with who have become some of the worst fans in the league. Why should he..? The Glory of it all...? RIIIIIIIIGHT....!!!!

If Miami is lucky, I I mean really lucky, they will get Jeff Fisher, a guy who has had a team on the field in the last 4 or 5 years and who has not been spoiled by the TV talking head crowd.

Just you remember that Jimmy Johnson left TV to come to Miami.... He would be the first to tell you it was his worst mistake ever. Cowher and Gruden are done... they are now anylists for a TV show... We need a coach... not a talking head...

It's nice to hear names like Cowher getting mentioned but unless he's got the fire in his bones to jump off the TV set and onto the field and work 22 hrs a day, he'll keep his day job...BUT, my devoted, long suffering Dolphin fans, I DO like names like Rob Ryan and Brian Shottenheimer (sp?) being throw around as possible considerations from assistants to HC. Think about this one: EVERY time we play the Jets it's bragging rights for the Bros! How much hype and motivation is that for players and fans!? Besides, we need a real intense looking, no nonsense, no BS, no whimp, uber football guy like Ryan who will enforce like his brother and father...I love his rogue-like attitude...the hair flinging around, man, we get attitude just having him on the side line. We need to get swagger and these Ryan bros have swagger!

We haven't had a HC that is like a rabid dog in years! YEARS!! I like the allure Gruden, Cowher and Fisher but I don't see them wanting the grueling days they know they will have to put in. Rob Ryan has the Ryan DNA! Guts, attitude, swagger, knowledge! We NEED that on this team! We haven't had that...Jets came to life with the Ryan Swagger. I want my team's HC to blast players who miss assignments, kickers who miss an easy field goal and so forth. TRex doesn't care what the media says to him, his team is winning and that enforces his teams confidence that HE is putting out there. We need a Ryan...hope our stupid owner understands that much!

If Ireland was THAT good, he would draft better, trade better and evaluate better. This team has consistently missed getting players that other teams select-they are looking at the same fact sheet he is, the stats are all right in front, we let those players go. Whoever is the next HC, needs to really look at the coaches and determine if they are good enough to get the most out of the players...We have a lot of problems that didn't occur over night. I hope Ross makes a decision that will bring life back to Miami Dolphins football and No Life Stadium. Sad to see all the empty seats when other stadiums around the country are packed.

Any team that would come into a 16 games (now 14 games season) with a back up qb, a "specialty" running back. NO veteran qb on roster. Shaky (young)defense,(often-injured offensive line) and expect winning results is C-R-A-Z-Y.

I still would LOVE to have Kyle Orton on this team, instead of Reggie Bush. At least, we might have been entertained. TD passes from Orton to Marshall "TD Miami!!!!!!".

In this league, a decent qb goes a long way.

100% correct Armando

They should fire him after the Dallas loss.....a long week off, an have Nolan as an interim HC.......this is clear the deck early and get a jump on hiring a new coach prior to the end of the season. This would allow for the new HC and FO to take over once the season is over. Hit the off season running. In reality Sparano should not be the HC now .... he should have been fired after last season and replaced. Ross screwed that up royally. Sparano has done nothing this past offseason, training camp nor early season to prove his worth. It's a contiuation of poor decisions and mismanagement. Ultimately, this 5-11 team and it's underacheiving, poorly talented roster is Ross' fault.....he should have followed thru this past January (when I say Spatano....I am including Ireland as the other boob and should be fired as well). another year wated! This current team is not competitive! We have become the Cincinnati Bunholes of the south. Poor ownership, poor coaching, poor FO roster decisions.....start over asap.... Not to make the playoffs this year b/c that will not happen reguardless... To start over and give everyone hope before next year. Right now everyone is waiting around for 'funeral to start'; let's get on with to get to the next step. This team will not get better until everyone is gone and we start over. Period!

I expect that if the Dolphins are not even close to making the playoffs by December that Sparano will be fired by Christmas. I would hire Jeff Fischer as the next coach. Overall he has been successful for many years coaching average teams to be winners.

you guys crack me up. sparano only attempts to amke the meal taste good. problem is ireland keeps giving him rotten groceries and there is not enough sweet and sour sauce to make it taste better. listen, no way in any of our lifetime does gruden, cowher or fischer work for this pathetic organization. only way to do that is to pull don shula in on things and show some credibility and promise. plus, these coaches like full stadiums and if they don't win fast enough you guys will be talking smack about them too and wrecking their legacies. bottom line, fill the stands and players and coaches will come to fix the problem. don't do that and watch the fins move to california. the fans are the biggest problem. not the coaches and not the dolphins overall. face it- you fans are the worst fair weather fans in the nfl. and, i am sorry to say it but it is the truth. you guys did not fill stands when shula and marino were here in our golden years. so stfu and either back the team or go cheer someone else.

ross- move the team to atlantic city nj and name them the atlantic city dolphins or the nj dolphins and you will have a packed stadium on the waterfront and a group of fans second to none in the nfl. you could also move them to asbury park nj both cities would welcome the Dolphins and pack the stadium. then coaches will want to come to the tri-state nj/ny area and all problems will be fixed. i will buy season tickets and so will thousands of dolphans in nj. and, yes, there are more dolfans in nj than miami. how f------ing sad...

And one last comment- ROB RYAN if SPARANO leaves. If not, leave Tony alone. He is n't the problem, Ireland and the fans are.

"It is foolish to expect different results if we continue doing the same"
Miami Dolphins has been a mediocre team for the last 5 years if no changes are made we will continued that way...it is shameful
Fire Ireland, Fire Sperano and tell Ross to get some Tiger Blood transfusion from Jerry Jones
The Cowboys may be losing BUT they do not sit on their butts giving lousy excuses we all heard before.
Loss every game left over in the year if you want, but get somebody who is going to shake up the team and prepare to fight next season

Flawed thinking....

Since only 12% of teams make the playoffs with an 0-2 record... can't imagine what it would be at 0-4 or 1-3....

So the point is moot.... TS isn't taking this team anywhere this season.... and neither is anyone else..

Moving now (or at the bye)allows the Dolphinsthe opportunity to be first in line communicating with "persons of interest"... not to be confused with their interest in the Dolphins...

Throw the switch... this season is over in regards to the playoffs...

I want the team to win this year not next and keeping Sparano is the best chance for that. I am in my seventies now and may not get a chance to see them next year.

Am I the only one who thinks bringing in the Tuna to right this sinking ship was a bad move? I can imagine him laughing all the way to the bank. The Fins paid him millions and the best thing he can do is bring in an OL line coach from his former team as head coach. Seems he didn't put much thought into the head coach thingie. Then together they continue to make poor personnel choices mostly from Dallas (I should have included Ireland sorry). I think Ross should sue Tuna to get the doe he paid him. That blunder (initially seemed smart - who knew the Tuna was burned out) set this team back 8-10 years. Picking Chad Pennington to start that first year was one of the only very few good moves they have made. I know many may argue and disagree but giving the title Guru to Tuna and Sparano is like calling Ross a brilliant football owner. Just sayin.

WHATTOP TIER HEAD COACH WANTS TO WORK FOR A GUY LIKE ROSS. HE WONS A LOSING TEAM AND TAKES NONE OF THE RESPONSIBILITY. THREE YEARS UNDER HIS OWNERSHIP AND THINGS LOOK VERY DARK. WOULD A TOPTEIR GUY LIKE JEFF FISHER WANT TO WORK FOR A GUY WHOM KNOWS NOTING, YET WANTS TO "RUN" AN ORGANIZATION IN WHICH HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLEDGE. yES, HE IS VERY SUCESSFUL IN THE LAND BUSINESS, BUT HE COLD NOT RUN IBM, ATT, OR THE FINS. PURCELLS BOLTED WHEN HE SAW ROSS BUILDING A DISCO IN THE STADIUM, SELLING OFF PART OF THE TEAM TO "THE STARS", AND TRYING TO RUN THING HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT. ROSS IS NOW THE PRIMARY PROBLEM. WE WILL CONTINUE TO LOSE WITH ROSS AT THE TOP. AT LEAST WAYNE ADMITTED HE KNEW NOTING ANDTRIED TO BU THE BEST AVAILABLE TALENT TO RUN THE TEAM. HOWEVER, HEHAD SO LITTLE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT RUNNING A PRO FRANCISE, HR VOULDN'T FIND THE RIGHT MIX. 6 YEARS FROM NOW WHEN ROSS SELLSTHE TEAM, WE WILL STILL BE A LOSER ORGANIZATION. SWALLOW THIS, WE ARE NOT A GREAT FRANCISE WITH A GREAT HISTORY. THOSE DAYS ARE 15 YEARS GONE. TELL ME WHAT WE HAVE DONE LAELY, NOT 1-29 YEARS AGO. ROSS, GET OUT NOW IF YU WANT TO HELP THIS TEAM BECOME A WINNER. LAY DOWN YOUR EGO AND ADMITT YOU KNOW NOTHING IN THE ARENA.

SORRY, DON;'T TYPE VERY WELL. BUT YOU GET IT. I HOPE

Dolphins suck on defense, bottom line and they need a qb that can keep up offensively, whose responsible for the bad defense? The coach? Henne isnt getting it done in the redzone, the qb needs to get it done. look at the colts without manning and thats the dolphins!!

RYAN,GRUDEN,COWHER!!!!!! AND KICK IRELAND'S ASS OUT OF HERE FIRST!!!! IM TELLING YOU THAT IF ROSS STAYS WITH IRELAND WE DON'T CHANGE!!!!! yes sparono doesn't get this team ready and the coaching staff is average as well as our players !!! This whole team is just mediocre !!!! BUT IRELAND HAS TO GO!!!!!!'

Sanbar777, Ross is going nowhere unfortunately !!! So what we need is yes for him to admit he knows nothing about football and hand the reins over to a head coach/GM. get ride of Ireland and step back and give the team to an experienced football person!!! Parcels put us in this hole and I for one was sooo happy he came here!!!! Lowered our standards and then bailed on us!!!! I no longer have respect for him!!!!

Is there really any doubt that to WIN the Fins need a better head coach, a better general manager, and a better QB, they need better personnel and play calling decisions!
WHY WAIT until the end of ANOTHER LOSING SEASONS to CHOOSE BETTER HC, GM and QB ???
