Source: Dolphins '100 percent' not firing Sparano now

The Dolphins are 0-3 and they're in disbelief.

They cannot believe they are 0-3. They cannot believe they got there by losing to the Cleveland Browns today, 17-16.

But despite being in last place in the AFC East and one of only two teams standing at 0-3 as of this moment, the club is not planning on firing coach Tony Sparano right now.

I asked a source if there are changes planned in that regard this week. "No, nothing," was the response.

I asked for clarification. Are you 100 percent, I asked.

"One hundred percent," was the emphatic answer.

Sparano, for his part, told me he also has not been told of any change or planned change.

Obviously, folks can sleep on their thoughts overnight. Obviously, we are operating in the span of one hour after a loss and people can change their mind. But that's how things are at the moment as the Dolphins just left Cleveland Browns Stadium.

I think what hurt this Team most, DB, was making Sapp the scapegoat for the NE loss(whose help arrived late). Coaches should take into account player's feelings and apparently Sapp was well liked by his mates.

Henne no doubt played great enough to win today. Problem was he didnt play great enough to put 7 pointers instead of 3 pointers.

3 Pointers arent nearly good enough to win with our new fangled teflon don defense!

odinseye

The whole team made countless mistakes. But....

The team was in a position to win at the end. Henne had the ball. He needed to make 8 yards. 8 yards from victory, and once again, the man who fades in the clutch, throws a pick. We needed 8 yards, we got 0 yards.

We don't have a chance in Hell of winning one Game this Season if no changes are made.

DB.... THE WORST MOVE WAS GETTING BACK JT ,THE SECOND GETTING THE HONORABLE R.BUSH ,THE THIRD WORST IS TO SIGN MR COLOMBO .......

Amazing,WHEN LAST TIME YOU HEARED OF GOOD PLAYER CALLED (( COLOMBO )) ??????????

(( BUFFET OF KNOWLEDGE )).............

Our defense suddenly stinks so badly we need to score 30pts a game to insure beating bad teams. Then score 50pts a game to ensure beating good teams!

I say don't fire him until after the season has officially ended...he is not bright and does not learn from his mistakes...henne is much improved from last season but he chokes inside the ten yard line and when the game is late and on the line...good to put bush on punt returns with bess....fins up...I will be at the SD game...I can be found if needed.:-)

Oscar, Mal De Ojo is more like it! We need some Santero priest to do a Despojo on the team and the Stadium! LOL!

Reggie Bush had two very bad games in a row. 2.2 yd per carry average. Meanwhile, Thomas is looking like the real every down back. How many years will it take Sparano to realize this and give more plays to Thomas?

DB,

DO YOU THINK OUR PLAYERS ON THE DEFENSE GET PAID REAL MONEY OR ALL IS A BAD DREAM ?

HOW CAN DANSY GET PAID ALMOST 13 MILLION A YEAR ?????????????????????????????????

How ironic this sounds outstandingly similar to all 3 losses. We were in good position nearing the end of all 3 losses.

Thats when we decide to really give our very best, which is always our very worst worst!

I meant Mal de Fondo, redsky(I don't believe in curses). Just a general malaise and discontent about the way things are going.

On the upside guys, NYJ QB Sanchez won't be posing for GQ anytime soon

They couldn't stop Cleveland when it mattered. Cleveland, with a 2nd yr QB and without their top RB, they still couldn't stop them. They can't stop anybody.

This defense couldn't stop a brick wall.

Yeah, but according to you and ctflipsphan, that has to be Henne's fault as well, RIGHT!

You sorry a ss pieces of shyt! You can't have it both ways you derelicts.

Just like I said last week, PLEASE Mr. Nolan, let Henne play defense as well!

Judging by this blog, Miami has to be about the most ignorant place on the planet-ROTFLMAO!

Not just Football ignorant, I mean just plain I-G-N-A-N-T-LOL!

Disclaimer: My apologees to all you Miamians, I'm just being sarcastic. I know there is no way anybody else can be as stump dumb and stoopid too, as these two-ROTFLMAO!

DB,

DO YOU THINK OUR PLAYERS ON THE DEFENSE GET PAID REAL MONEY OR ALL IS A BAD DREAM ?

Posted by: ALoco | September 25, 2011 at 11:35 PM

I dont know ALoco, you tell me. Remember, you were the one raving Ross should hide his money from heyena Cowher this offseason.

Dansby made not 1 pro bowl in Phoenix. Yet the fo tried to sell like he was going to come here and become a league superstar.

Dansby seems more of a guy who's great when guys around him are very good too. He clearly shows he's not a leader of the pack. Neither is the other ilb.

They were both good players on great teams.

any other QB that can actually win us some games..you know, finish the games and throw TD's

Posted by: C63-AMG | September 25, 2011 at 11:25 PM

By that you mean, anybody that can cover for our crappy O-Line, our crappy Defense. our crappy FO and most of all us crappy fans!

I seriously PRAY the cut Henne now-LOL. I can't wait to see your new fangled Dolphins with Moore and Luck covering for this freaking side show-ROTFLMAO!

Mr. Ross, have some MERCY for your fellow alumni and cut Henne NOW!

Moore Luck? Your going to need a little Moore than LUCK! Bhwaaaaa Haaaaaa Haaaaaaa!!!!!

This fo just dont draft well enough to gamble with fa signings. They also dont have much of a clue about the fa's they pass over too.

odinseye

I never said anywhere the defense was Henne's fault. That was an entirely separate comment.

If I had a valium handy I would offer it to you.

Oscar, I figured you meant that, I didn't think you were cooking up fondue for dinner or anything....my point is I can now understand how the Red Sox fans felt with the curse of the Bambino! We have had such a dry spell that it seems that since Shula and Marino left, the glory days are becoming more distant. It's hard to let that go, and accept mediocrity instead! Frustration venting!!!

DB.\\ NOW EVERY PLAYER ON THIS tEAM WILL PLAY FOR NOT GETting INJURED AND PLAY LIKE R.BROWN LAST YEar ........................................

lovely ...........(( buffet of knowledge )) ......

Well that's Good. Replacing him during the tr would achieve nothing. I'd like to see Ireland gone after the season.

Calling people foul names does not further or enhance the debate.

We cannot pinpoint yet who is responsible for this mess(although we will), if it's Ross, or Ireland, Tony, two of them or all three. The Players feel the mess.

If you wanted to trade henne for a draft pick, good luck! No one is that stupid...oh I forgot Ireland.
Jake long looked average, name me a team that will give up a first round for Long!!!

3yrs and this fo has drafted only 1 true impact player, Jake Long.

They may have gotten a little with the 4th draft because its looking we may have 2 impact players. Jimmy Wilson and D Thomas.

Even if they are and 1-2 more become impact players from 2011's draft. Its still too little too late. This regime is all but out the door.

If Ross allows this mess to continue, then, that would be an indictment agains him.

Doesnt matter what Henne's final numbers are. No team's going to give big money to a fa qb that struggles to put points on the board in the red zone. He'll be offered mid pack qb money at best.

Therefore we should try and extend him to be our future backup. That's assumming we're in position to get Andrew Luck in 2012's draft.

The team was in a position to win at the end. Henne had the ball. He needed to make 8 yards. 8 yards from victory, and once again, the man who fades in the clutch, throws a pick. We needed 8 yards, we got 0 yards.

Posted by: DevilsAdvocate | September 25, 2011 at 11:30 PM

Yeah, but you conveiniently forget the fact that BEFORE we needed 8 yards(before no receivers could buy a piece of daylight(I rewatched it twice already-the last series)our defense drove the length of the field for the Browns.

I don't mean they just gave up yards. I mean, when we had them stopped, they would gift wrap an automatic first down for them!

Yet, you feel confident and smart laying this on Henne? ROTFLMFAO!

I'm going to stop now, cause this is just to wierd, but I'll finish by telling you this.

Even Aaron Rodgers couldn't have played good enough DEFENSE to win this game-Bhwaaaaaa Haaaaa Haaaaaa!

PLEASE Mr. Ross, have some MERCY! FIRE HENNE!

Right now I would offer Henne a 3yr $15 million a year extention with only $5 million a year guaranteed. At worst that still makes him tradeble.

Also make the 3rd year optional.

That makes us only $10 million tied into Henne at the most!

Must trade Long, Marshall, and heene to move up and get LUCK!!!!
Ooops I forgot, Ireland is on our team, yikes!!!

Bills at the top of the AFC East.....un EFF ING believable!!

At the rate things are going now Im highly optimistic we're not going to have to move up to get LUCK! LOL...

Dyingbreed,
Name me a team that would trade for Henne, right now!

I legitimately see 0-8 at the bye week! LOL...

If I had a valium handy I would offer it to you.

Well, since you were considerate enough to have even have this thought cross your mind, I apologize for the "ignant and pieces of shyt" comments. I didn't really mean it anyways.

I'm just a frustrated fan that bleeds Aqua and Orange. BTW, I could use the valium, but I'm certain it wouldn't be enough!

I hope its 0 and 16, need to guarantee the Luck for the next decade.

Dyingbreed,
Name me a team that would trade for Henne, right now!

Posted by: glory days | September 25, 2011 at 11:59 PM

Guaranteed there arent more than 2-3 teams in this league who have a backup better than Henne. If the asking price isnt crazy riduculous Gm's would be all over Henne as a backup.

Hell there at at least 5 nfl teams Henne would be a huge upgrade at starting qb!

If you wanted to trade henne for a draft pick, good luck! No one is that stupid...oh I forgot Ireland.

Posted by: glory days | September 25, 2011 at 11:47 PM

Duh! HELLO!!!!

Who ever said a first round pick?

I think we should package Henne and Long for a 5th or possibly a 4th rounder and use all of our 2012 picks to PARLAY into some Luck!

how about dan marino as the GM/HC? Or even better Mike and Dave Shula???

Name me a team dying breed?
You just said the truth, Henne is a backup!!!!

Conservative coaching and mediocrity. Another season of re-building. The teams been re-building for seasons after seasons.

Wake me up when we make the finals.

Long and Henne for a fourth round, how sad is that.

...It is the same story over and over with this team..We are desperate for some leadership. There is no reason that we should be making the same mistakes from drops, to defensive breakdowns, to red zone, to late game execution. If you want to point the finger at one person it has to Sparano. He must be held accountable for this team that seems stuck in the movie Groundhogs Day...

I want to comment on Brandon Marshall. I have made excuse after excuse or this guy. He can catch the ball 100 times this year. But until he can get with the program, stop costing us opportunities to win games, and be the number one guy we brought him here to be. He is no more than an expensive sports car that we can show off but will never get us laid...He is killing us. Henne is going to get the brundt of the abuse. He is the quarterback, and ultimately he is responsible for the performance of this offense. But when you cannot count on your number 1 guy in the crunch. It makes it really tough to totaly put the blame soley on his shoulders.

Henne is a back up? Maybe in the Lingerie Football League!

Mr. Ross, get rid of this cancer called Henne!

You could have had Palmer or Vince Young! Wait a minute! I think you still can! Please, make your fans happy and cut Henne NOW-ROTFLMAO!

I can't believe those idiots used 2 first round draft picks on Offensive Lineman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man I miss the wansted days.

Colts played with heart tonight...Refreshing to see.

Long and Henne for a fourth round, how sad is that.

Posted by: glory days | September 26, 2011 at 12:10 AM

Yeah, your right, MY BAD!

Seriously though, if we package them we should at least be able to get a 6th rounder, huh?

It sucks, but we have to start rebuilding all over again and neither one will be around when we start getting it together(if we EVER do).

We might as well use them now to get a better position and/or flexability in the upcoming draft.

Joe Rose, on the Dolphins, criticized the D, the Oline, Marshall, coaching, but pretty much left Henne out. Said the Oline didn't give him time to throw. 5 sacks and 8 knockdowns not acceptable. Thinks Sparano will get blamed and Ireland might skate! Just passing it along guys!!!!

Marshall and long are the only players we can trade in the draft to move up if needed.
But from what I see, LUCK is already wearing aqua!!!!

Look at the schedule. How many games can the Dolphins seriously be expected to possibly win? Maybe they beat Denver and KC, possibly Washington and maybe a fluke win or two against everyone else...in a best case scenario that's four or five. At most. So, at best, they'll be one of the four or five worst teams in the NFL and, if everything continues to go so poorly, possibly the worst. That's just sad.

Today's loss was brutal. Henne still can't get his offense into the end zone or convert key first downs when they need it most. Bush and Marshall were outplayed by rookies and no-names. The defense folded like a cheap tent in crunch time. The head coach still acts like a bush-leaguer with his idiotic fist punches after field goals. Trying to follow this team has become a baffling ordeal; they're bad, boring and show zero sign of improvement in any area.

seriously, the problem starts with the qb. get a good one, and miami can improve going forward. the morons in the front office who did not replace henne after last year sealed the team's fate. as for sparano, there is really nothing else to say; the man played for the field goal, pumped his fist, and lost. he will be fired soon, and fade into obscurity from whence he came.

“I didn’t judge the ball right,” Wilson said. “It was supposed to be an interception to end the game. I take full responsibility. It was my fault. I should’ve timed my jump better, and we wouldn’t have finished with a loss.”

This rookie has shown more class than Parcells, Ross, Ireland, and Sparano put together.

The Dolphins and Chad Henne are irrelevent!

Therefor, by proxy, so is this BLOG-LOL!

Blog Hit Troll, you now have your work cut out for you.

Get Busy-ROTFLMFAO!

ValHalla!!!!

BwaaaaaaaahahHahahahaha

I love it. Total meltdown in Miami. Nothing to be positive about! Loser franchise full of loser players and coaches. Bwaaaaahahahahahaha.

Enjoy yet another new regime and rebuild. You losers are used to it! LMFAO.

This Is Great..

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback suffered a broken right hand during Sunday's 29-16 loss to the New York Giants and afterward vented about what he believes is unfair treatment by game officials.

"I think more precautions should be taken when I'm inside the pocket," Vick said. "You look at all the replays, I'm on the ground every time. It's unfortunate for myself, it's unfortunate for my team..."
"At some point, something catastrophic is going to happen, and today, I broke my hand..."

"I don't know why I don't get the 15-yard flags like everybody else does," he said. "Hey, I'm not going to complain about it. I'm just going to make everyone aware of it."

If needed? Dude, you think Luck can tackle, cover recievers, kick field goals and block defensive tackles?

If NEEDED? WTF!

Anyways, it seems ME and Joe Rose are in the minority here on Mando's deep, intelligent and informing blog-LOL!

What do you know?

What a disgrace. Feel shame.
