The Dolphins are 0-3 and they're in disbelief.
They cannot believe they are 0-3. They cannot believe they got there by losing to the Cleveland Browns today, 17-16.
But despite being in last place in the AFC East and one of only two teams standing at 0-3 as of this moment, the club is not planning on firing coach Tony Sparano right now.
I asked a source if there are changes planned in that regard this week. "No, nothing," was the response.
I asked for clarification. Are you 100 percent, I asked.
"One hundred percent," was the emphatic answer.
Sparano, for his part, told me he also has not been told of any change or planned change.
Obviously, folks can sleep on their thoughts overnight. Obviously, we are operating in the span of one hour after a loss and people can change their mind. But that's how things are at the moment as the Dolphins just left Cleveland Browns Stadium.

I never root to lose, but the more we lose the better off the new regime will be. So keep them around awhile. It makes no difference. Andrew Luck and his family is a Miami lphin!
(I'll give them the D and O when it is deserved.)

IT DOES PLEASES ME THAT THE CONVERSATION IN THE NFL TODAY ISNT ABOUT HOW GREAT TOM BRADY IS. INSTEAD ITS ABOUT THIS BEING THE WORST DEFENSE BELLICHICK EVER COACHED!
LOL.................................................................

The only bigger loser today than the Dolphins is the "Yeah!" guy that keeps posting #1 after every post. Get a life loser.

They should now be called the Miami Mullets.

reggie bush becomes the dumbest move in that it was the only MAJOR move done by this Front Office, when clearly this team looks no better for it thus far....
Posted by: superPHIN | September 25, 2011 at 06:02 PM
With the exception of a couple of guys, this regime has drafted poorly. There is no foundation, just a few keepers sprinkled throughout the roster. I can't believe that as smart as Stephen Ross has to be, he didn't see this coming. It has been a three ring circus.
Posted by: jrljr2 | September 25, 2011 at 06:03 PM
People,
Grab your thoughts for a moment, and shush.
We don't want Tony fired. We want him in place all year. We need him, because we need Andrew Luck. Kansas City is pushing us hard for him, and if we get a new interim coach he'll probably beat the Chiefs. That would be bad.
Suck for Luck 2012!!

I told you Miami sucks. Come to Cuba instead, Andrew Luck.

Posted by: DevilsAdvocate | September 25, 2011 at 06:04 PM
Look no further than that last scoring drive by the dolphins offense. they are moving the ball with thomas on the ground and efficent passes over the middle. Once they get to the opponents 20 yd line they run for cover and play for a field goal. Sparano just has no killer instinct when it comes to putting a game away. Until Sparano, Ireland and all other cowboy castoffs are run out of south florida, the once proud dolphins will become the new bengals of the NFL. Truely a shame from a once proud franchise
Posted by: dolfan29 | September 25, 2011 at 06:04 PM
Fasano didnt fumble the vall deep in browbs territory and didnt miss a field goal that would have made the last td irrelevant. Our players suck. Our defensive backs really suck.
Posted by: Lindin | September 25, 2011 at 06:04 PM
FIRE SPARANO, FIRE IRELAND. AS LONG AS ROSS IS STILL OWNER I STILL HAVE ZERO CONFIDENCE HE HANDS THE FRANCHISE KEYS TO THE RIGHT NEW REGIME!

Sorry for the misspelling

Ever since their 1-15 season i have called them the Deadfins...i even made a spiffy logo for them...this year is just a continuation of their quest to see just how much they can suck and make their fans suffer. Superficial owner, inept GM, and head coach who was a far better o-line coach.
Posted by: Karl | September 25, 2011 at 06:06 PM
And I neant Sparano not Fasano. Im drunk...

DEAR MR. ROSS:
WHEN AND IF YOU FIRE SPARANO/IRELAND. BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR NEXT HIRE COULD YOU PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ GIVE DON SHULA A CALL?
MAYBE NOT AS COACH BUT IM SURE HE CAN GIVE YOU A GOOD DIRECTION TO LOOK IN.
Posted by: DyingBreed | September 25, 2011 at 06:07 PM
Next week has all the makings of a major meltdown of a season loss for sparano and company.....no peptalks or anger management issues this week....just to practice and then on to a probable blowout....
Posted by: superPHIN | September 25, 2011 at 06:07 PM
MR.ROSS SHOULD CHANGE THIS PHINS NAME TO " THE MIAMI GOFERS " ;)
Posted by: SALVATION TWEET | September 25, 2011 at 06:07 PM
It's just utterly mind boggling how inept this regime is. The talent evaluation is deplorable. This may be the worst put together team this franchise has ever fielded. They totally destroyed any progress built after 2008. Obviously, as much as we all hate Parcels, he was obviously calling the shots at the beginning. When he left, the wheels fell off personnel wise.

Omar Kelly: The Dolphins just lost to the Browns, which already have a mediocre offense, and didn't have its best offensive player (Hillis). GUT PUNCH.

ScottieC,
ARE YOU NUTS, DO YOU REALLY THINK WE'RE ONE PLAYER AWAY FROM BEING A PLAYOFF TEAM?
NO ONE EXPECTS EVEN WITH LUCK WE MAKE PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR. WE SURE ARENT GETTING THERE WITHOUT HIM EITHER. BUT OUR FUTURE AT QB WILL LOOK A WHOLE LOT BRIGHTER!
ARE YOU A TROLL?

As I been saying for three years now... FIRE SPARANO AND HIS KIDS AND IRELAND. Purge this team of ALL the Parcells crap. Btring in a HC that can truly rebuild this team like COWHER.
And to all the Gruden fans...
Let's take a stroll down memory lane. Gurden took over the Bucs from Tony Dungey and in his first year won the SB against the Raddddders...
He had to credit Dungey for setting the team up for years and Gruden was on Dungeys coattails. After 7 years with the Bucs Gruden was FIRED and went to da Raders.
95–81–0 (Regular Season)
5–4 (Postseason)
100–85–0 (Overall)
COWHER is the logical choice and is much, much more experienced and disciplined and the Fins if under Cowhers control against NE would have been prepared vs the embarrassment like Wake being tossed around by a rookie Guard all day and the cramping and conditioning was a failure on the HC and all his kids.
In Cowher’s 15 seasons, the Steelers captured eight division titles, earned ten postseason playoff berths, played in 21 playoff games, advanced to six AFC Championship games and made two Super Bowl appearances.
He is one of only six coaches in NFL history to claim at least seven division titles.
At the conclusion of the 2005 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers had the best record of any team in the National Football League since Cowher was hired as head coach.
Now folks... If you don't like COWHER that's fine BUT you can NOT argue that COWHER IS the best choice as he has a proven record and TODAY, Mike Tomlin reps from what COWHER built with the Rooney family backing him up.
This is a no brainier.. COWHER IS the first choice. Give him the tools and guaranteed the Fins will be turned around as one of the best Teams in the NFL since Shula.
Gruden has never, EVER proven to accomplish anything on his own, He cant hold the apron strings for Cowher as there is just no comparison whatsoever and mentioning Gruden in the same sentence as Cowher as better is being naive as the numbers don't lie.

How does Greg Cote feel about his 10-6 prediction now? The only Dolphin fans have left is rooting against the Jets.

Suck for Luck!
I only have to post that 13 more times this season.
Maybe we can find a sucker to trade us a quality starting right side of th O-line, seam threat TE and a starting FS in return for next years #1 spot in the draft.

Today, the Dolphins lost to the Browns.
It has been confirmed that the owner will continue to shyt on the fans.
The HC will continue to coach like he's full of shyt.
The GM will continue his quest for acorns and end end with a hand full of shyt.
Have a shytty day!

seriously?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? how can they not fire this guy????????? 0-and FREAKING 3???? with not ONE BUT TWO losses to the Browns within the past 10 games??
Do they not understand that changes need to be made? And although I know mid season changes never seem to work out, at least it will give us fans hope! Because honestly there is NONE left with this man still being in charge. He seems like a very nice guy but he is NOT HEAD COACH material. Crap...he was never even an offensive coordinator.
I am just sick

Armando,
Could please have The Herald pull down the:

Fire Sparano and Ireland and any other talent evaluators left over from Parcells. There is a good team hidden under this winless team. Sparano doesnt know how to get the best from his players and Ireland is just pathetic.
I am rolling over in my grave.

Well thats one of my bankers gone down the drain.Looks like with Buffalo playing well the only match Miami might win is Kansas.1-15 here we coma again.
What about Miami Muppets as the new franchise name?
Posted by: Stuart Pickles | September 25, 2011 at 06:22 PM
It does'nt matter when they fire him, 0-3, 0-4 or 0-5 or at the end of the season. What matters is that he and Ireland get fired and are gone by season's end. By that time we will be 1-15 if we are lucky.
Next season, Andrew Luck, a new coach and an easy schedule will ease all the pain we are going thru now.

THAT FAR TO GOOD TO CALL THESE MIAMI DOLPHINS. THE MUPPETS WERE ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL CAPITAL VENTURES IN TV HISTORY.

Source: Dolphins '100 percent' playing in front of an empty stadium when you return home from a 0-4 start.
Why do we pay Bush millions then we don't use him? Because our coaches are terrible.
Fire Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
FANS - STOP GOING TO GAMES

What is really sad is that Chan Gailey and Dave Wannestant are on top the Division at 3-0 after DEFEATING the Patriots.
The talking heads on the networks are calling Dave Wannestant a defensive genius!
Next week we get beaten like drum by another ex-fin coach Norv Turner. 0-4 here we go.
Posted by: Slipperysoap | September 25, 2011 at 06:24 PM
Sparano ain't the problem. Ireland is. Ireland has no business being GM. He is way over his head. There is a difference b/w coaching and spotting the talent. And, Ireland can't do either. He has Sparano bent over the desk with his pants down. It just ain't fair. The guy has ignored all of our needs and Sparano gets whacked? Well, if sparano gets it ireland better get it first.....What a joke....my god.
