Pick a cliche: When it rains it pours. Or perhaps, the hits just keep on coming. Or how about kicking a man when he's down.
They all fit the Dolphins right now.
You'll remember they are winless after two games and need good news, right? It didn't come this afternoon when the team announced cornerback Vontae Davis is indeed out of the Sunday's Cleveland game with a hamstring injury.
It gets worse.
Will Allen apparently tweaked a hamstring (again) sometime between practice Thursday and the end of practice Friday and was limited in practice Friday. He is now on the injury report for the first time this week. He's listed as questionable.
Did I mention free safety Chris Clemons was limited in practice all week for the second consecutive week because he's nursing a hamstring injury? He is listed as questionable.
So where does that leave the Miami secondary?
Sean Smith and Nolan Carroll are expected to start at cornerback. Reshad Jones is expected to start at free safety. Yeremiah Bell is the starting strong safety.
Miami's nickel and dime packages get a interesting if Allen cannot play or somehow tries to play but cannot finish. Allen is the nickel cornerback. Jimmy Wilson is probably the dime cornerback.
If Allen drops out, Nate Jones would probably be the nickel cornerback. Jones was signed Tuesday.
Oy vey.

Oscar thanks.... Hey, Wait a minute.........

I have a Story for you. One evening, a friend of ours brought this Lady that stated that due to Religious beliefs she did not eat pork meat or drink alcoholic beverages. Then, she promptly devoured the Pork loin I had made and drank my last bottle of muscatel. True Story.

...No excuses this year for our Red-zone troubles. Execution is the problem, not play selection(IMO)..Weather it be dropped passes, missed blocking assignments or poor throws-decisions from Henne. The plays have been there. 3 examples.. 2 from last week. We all know the dropped pass in the end zone was a killer. Rewind a bit and we had the same play with Marshall on Allen, with no Saftey help. Marshall got behind Allen or what should have been an easy completion(if Marshall catches it) Henne overthrows him in the back of the endzone...The play was there, we didn't execute..Go back to week 1 first and goal and we line up Soliai in the backfield(this could be considered a wtf moment) Mastrud goes in motion and blocks the wrong guy. That play was designed to go off tackle. Instead it congests into the backfield for a loss on what should have been an easy Td. The next play we have 2 recievers on the weak side. They both run crosses. Bess gets caught up, doesn't beat his man and runs the route short and we complete a meaningless pass or a 1 yard gain. the Following play. Marshall couldn't get inside leverage, and Henne throws the ball to his back shoulder..2 mistakes on the same play..These are a few examples o execution failing us in the redzone. The playcalling is never going to be perfect for any team all season..But the execution on the part of the players needs to be better.

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it..
Posted by: ALoco | September 24, 2011 at 12:45 AM
You forgot to ask the Communists, redsky, how many of them did Czar Nicholas II kill.
Posted by: oscar canosa | September 24, 2011 at 12:46 AM
LMAOROTF @ Lil Aloco, I just spit beer all over my screen...
Posted by: Cuban Menace | September 24, 2011 at 12:51 AM
Obviously Oscar, the czar didn't kill enough of them, the communists then went on to kill between 25 and 30 million people. Many more than the czar and Hitler killed together!
Posted by: redsky | September 24, 2011 at 12:51 AM
See, it evens out. Communism only existed in the mind of Karl Marx. What we see as Communism is only Totalitarianism. It is an impossibility(Communism) in Real Space as us Humans do not behave that way.
Posted by: oscar canosa | September 24, 2011 at 12:54 AM
That story is getting old, ALoco. BTW, did you like my Story for tonight?
Posted by: oscar canosa | September 24, 2011 at 12:57 AM
Yo Oscar, That story never gets old, Lil Aloco must have that on save, he hits it up everytime someone asks where he's from, truly classic Aloco..
