Well, at least Brandon Marshall didn't get tossed from the game in the second quarter.
Other than that, it's a bad night so far for the Dolphins. Yes, they've actually outgained the Jets 215 yards to 100 yards. But Matt Moore's interception to Darrelle Revis, which he returned 100 yards tips the scales toward New York.
The Dolphins offense is terrible on third down -- 0-for-6.
The defense just gave up an 80-yard drive to the Jets prior to halftime.
This is not good, as you might guess.

I doubt Ross fires Sparano until end of year. Why? What exactly is there to turn around?

the problem with cowher or fisher is that they are old school like parcells. i want someone with creative thinking that wants to play some new school football
Posted by: dave | October 17, 2011 at 10:26 PM
Dolphins should be wearing all pink instead of just gloves and shoes and chin straps
Posted by: SoiledBottom | October 17, 2011 at 10:27 PM
I agree DC. What do gain by doing it now.
Posted by: vx-jeff | October 17, 2011 at 10:27 PM
Man we suck. We could not beat a CFL team.
Posted by: Calgaryfinfan | October 17, 2011 at 10:27 PM
Okay, they get a FG. IF we get a touchdown, I will have hope. If we do not... Even THIS Dolfan who hates giving up will find it hard not to.
Posted by: john | October 17, 2011 at 10:27 PM
ANY DOLPHIN PLAYER SAYING THEY HAVENT QUIT ON THIS SEASON AFTER THIS GAME. IS JUST FLAT OUT LYING.
THIS IS QUIT GUYS!
Posted by: yesterday's gone | October 17, 2011 at 10:27 PM
Alright, trade Marshall tomorrow. Several teams could him.
And though i have said there is no value in firing fat Tony till the end of the year, it is evident this village idiot has done NOTHING to make this team even remotely competetive.
FIRE THE BUM TONIGHT!
Posted by: Angry Elf | October 17, 2011 at 10:27 PM
not sure we can score 17

Posted by: yogi | October 17, 2011 at 10:28 PM
We are a CFL team.
Posted by: grfdolphin | October 17, 2011 at 10:28 PM
if i was sparano and 0-4, i would be pulling out all stops. instead, we have punted twice around the jets 40 yard line, and took a knee to end the first half.
Posted by: austin | October 17, 2011 at 10:28 PM
the biggest crime other than sparano and ireland still employed is soliai making 12 million against the cap this year. he was our franchise guy?. REALLY. Cmon man.
Posted by: Andrew Luck | October 17, 2011 at 10:28 PM
Anyway, time to go to bed. Screw this. Not worth staying up late. Just pathetic. Later guys.

The D looks like it's in pre-season mode. Just playing base so not to show anything in the regular season.
Posted by: Turd Ferguson | October 17, 2011 at 10:29 PM
Nothing to turn around DC, but TS mismanaged this team for way too long. It field goals, fist pumps and poor clock mgmt.
Posted by: d-dense | October 17, 2011 at 10:29 PM
12 million for Soliai. I'd give him 12 million pesos in a heartbeat.

CFL TEAM? THAT'S AN INSULT TO CFL TEAMS EVERYWHERE!
Posted by: yesterday's gone | October 17, 2011 at 10:29 PM
What a tragic decline of this once proud team!
Posted by: redsky | October 17, 2011 at 10:29 PM
I can't wait until they fire sparano! I never want to see another field goal celebration
Posted by: sevensharp | October 17, 2011 at 10:29 PM
Well said, austin

"Coach-speak, coach-speak, coach-speak"...come on Armando...have some nads and question this coach tomorrow.
Posted by: John007 | October 17, 2011 at 10:30 PM
This is just plain sorry. Fire Sparano on principle.
Posted by: ltcdolphin | October 17, 2011 at 10:30 PM
Long suffering Argo fan here. Pretty sure my Dolphins and Argos would both lose if they played each other.
Posted by: Toronto Ry | October 17, 2011 at 10:30 PM
Not one real coach would come during the season. So u fire him and have the loser Nolan coach. Wow that will get the fan base going
Posted by: vx-jeff | October 17, 2011 at 10:30 PM
send Brandon to Chi town to play woth Culter again.
Posted by: g | October 17, 2011 at 10:30 PM
Sparano gets the last laugh, guys.
He suckered Ross into giving him two extra years on his contract (both fully guaranteed) and is showing all the signs of a guy who couldn't care less if he's fired right after the game. He gave up in the first half with over a minute to go and passed up a field goal for Carpenter in the first drive of the 3rd quarter.
Sparano knows he's done and he's telling Ross he can stick the Dolphins up his a s s. Checkmate.
Posted by: GetAGrip | October 17, 2011 at 10:31 PM
When was the last time a big market team was this bad? With this salary? Dallas?
Posted by: inimounts | October 17, 2011 at 10:31 PM
Just chuck the ball, seriously. Why not? It is not like they are shutting down our passing game. We are dropping passes, killing ourselves. Let's test this little ass Revis. He has not impressed me too much. Why not? Let's get some damn BALLS!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: john | October 17, 2011 at 10:31 PM
Isnt it a crappy feeling to know that if the opponet scores more than 13 points your team is finished? How can ANYONE justify that?
Posted by: todd neal | October 17, 2011 at 10:31 PM
Henne would have been Pro-Bowl caliber the first 4 games if the WRs could catch. The o-line is looking better, but we have no play-makers at WR or TE on the O!
Posted by: CanesRUS | October 17, 2011 at 10:31 PM
TONIGHT PROVES WE'RE UNQUESTIONABLY THE NFL'S WORST TEAML. SUCK FOR LUCK?
HOW ABOUT WE JUST PLAIN SUCK!
Posted by: yesterday's gone | October 17, 2011 at 10:31 PM
Hopefully Miami will not be on any more prime time games. To see professional athletes intentionally quit is a disgrace to any sports fan. Miami does not even have professional pride.
Posted by: TomWI | October 17, 2011 at 10:31 PM
ESPN making a highlight film of Marshall misses. AWESOME.
Posted by: SullysPhins | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
He dropped an easy first down.
Posted by: Jebediah Gonzalez-Cohen | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
May I kindly ask the bloggers to forever refrain from using the phrase 'this once proud franchise'? That was soooo long ago that its irrelevant.
Posted by: DevilsAdvocate | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
If Miami doesn't beat Denver, I don't think they win a game. Look at the schedule, they won't be favored in a game the rest of the way. There's no 3 win Baltimore coming in at the end of the year like 07'. Eagles, Bills, Pats, and Jets to close out the year
Posted by: Jon | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
We would be better off without a hc rather keep this team
Posted by: ltcdolphin | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
Season is over. Lose out. Draft a franchise QB. Cut everyone else and start over.
Posted by: Calgaryfinfan | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
Why would we fire Sparano now? Keeping Sparano almost guarantees we land Andrew Luck!!
Posted by: FinFckd | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
the NCAA should put the Dolphins on probation for accepting paychecks and leave the Hurricanes alone
Posted by: dan kind | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
d-dense, our true competition is the Colts. That's the game you should be paying attention to.
Posted by: DC Dolfan | October 17, 2011 at 10:32 PM
2 yard run, 4 minutes left in the 3rd... yaaaay
Posted by: john | October 17, 2011 at 10:33 PM
This whole thing has been orchestrated since game one. They are trying to lose. Cant possibly be this bad.
Posted by: severinno | October 17, 2011 at 10:33 PM
I puke everytime I see that bloated, washed up, turd Parcells on ESPN.
I hate that douche bag. He created this embarrassment of a franchise by picking these losers.

>I doubt Ross fires Sparano until end of year. Why? What exactly is there to turn around?
You get a jump on hiring the next coach, if you dont wait till the end of the year.
Posted by: mayhem | October 17, 2011 at 10:34 PM
Why throw that? We NEVER make those plays.
Posted by: StinkyFishies | October 17, 2011 at 10:34 PM
We are short a qb and another receiver and tight wnd
Posted by: inimounts | October 17, 2011 at 10:34 PM
Dabol < 0
Sparano < Dabol
Posted by: DevilsAdvocate | October 17, 2011 at 10:35 PM
We could have picked Dez Bryant (who is doing great).
But not after our brain trust insulted him about his mother. He probably would have demanded to be traded.
Then we bring in Marshall knowing that he was good but was a head case.
The old Trifecta made some bad picks and bad trades.
Sparano and Ireland will be gone soon.
I believe Sparano could be gone tomorrow.
ROSS WILL MAKE A STATEMENT THAT HE'S FED UP!
