Thanks Tim Tebow, Dolphins on TV Sunday

Some of you hate the Dolphins celebration of the Florida Gators 2008 championship at Sun Life Stadium Sunday.

Some of you love the Dolphins' celebration of the Florida Gators 2008 championship at Sun Life Stadium Sunday.

And apparently those who love it are getting the upper hand.

That's because the number of tickets the promotion helped to sell -- estimated by the Dolphins to number between 5,000-7,000 -- has helped drive sales to the point where the team is now in position to guarantee a sellout of the game and thus televise the game on local television in South Florida.

The club will announce later this afternoon that the game will be sold out as it will guarantee the sellout. The Dolphins, in conjunction with sponsors, similarly guaranteed the sellout of the Sept. 18 game against Houston.

Let it be known: There are still plenty of tickets remaining. So the club is hopeful a significant number of those can be sold in the days leading up to the game. But the fact the perfect storm of having this Gator Day celebration coincide with the promoting of Tim Tebow to be the Broncos starting quarterback Sunday worked for the home team.

Since the Tebow promotion announcement in Denver, the Dolphins say 10,000 tickets have been sold for the game. Previously, as many as 28,000 seats remained unsold.

Obviously, not all the tickets sold the past two weeks went to UF fans or alumni. Hey, maybe the 3,000 to 5,000 estimated not to be Gator-driven tickets were bought by University of Miami fans who will come to boo Tebow -- something that would suit the Dolphins.

Or maybe, those tickets were simply sold to full-fledged Dolphins fans.

What a concept!

I will be rooting for the dolphins but it is hard to say who is gonna win , we both suck so bad, but at least Denver has won a game, and I am sure Tony will find a way to keep the streak going, after all he likes what see's out there.

Half the teams in MLB tank every summer by becoming buyers and sellers.

Just don't get the argument that you're a bad fan for hoping to get the best pick in 25 years. Just don't get it...

So if Tebow would have been the #1 ranked QB the year he came out teams would have had to "Blow for Tebow".

Snooze.....(Sound of chirping crickets)

I think Ross was asking Mangini if he could come beat up Ireland for him

What a non issue Mando, who cares about Tim Tebow or the Gators for that matter. It's a fins blog!!!

WHO WOULDN't WANT TO GO SEE ONE OF SPARANO's LAST GAMES.

THE BEST THING HE HAS DONE FOR THE DOLPHINS IS STAYED LONG ENOUGH FOR US TO GET A TOP NOTCH QB

What the media doesn't get is that we don't want the Dolphins to tank on purpose. We just think that we should be rewarded for our undying loyalty even with all the monumental sucking that's been going on for the better part of a decade.

Our thinking is: If we're gonna suck (again), let's REALLY suck this season so we can land a great player and get away from all the sucking once and for all. The problem is there are a lot of other teams that suck too. So, it becomes sort of a backwards race.

No need for these Dolphins to play badly on purpose. They're already dead last in converting first downs, among the worst defenses in the league, and have consistently failed to pressure the opposing quarterback or create turnovers.

well sundays epic showdown has probaly the 2 worst starting qbs in the nfl going at it. both teams will be trying to lose to get closer to luck, lets hope we can find a way to lose to this awful denver team

Anyone wanna bet the 'sellout' looks more like some gator fans attending a marlins game?

I'm sure Elway wants to lose the game deep down. May the better team lose. NFL follies better have their cameras ready

DON SHULA FOR VICE PRESIDENT OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DON SHULA FOR VICE PRESIDENT OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DON SHULA FOR VICE PRESIDENT OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe when the Redskins come to town later this year we can honor the Redskins Super Bowl victory over us. That is even a better idea than this 2008 Gator garbage. Come on Ross, really stick it to us fans.

Bro, FP4, Tjader swings, always has.

Not familiar with that particular Tjader's album, FP4, but I'll get it from I-Tunes.

Infinitely better to see It than hear It. Although, if good, I also like to smell It.

Alright, keep it rolling.

0 - 6!

CHUCKY + LUCK = NEW ERA 2012

And taste It, of course.

I am very sorry, Darryl, about me confusing you with FP4 and about Cal Tjader. Very, very sorry again.

How embarrased I am!

Just lose, baby!

I mentioned this video of Sparano in the presser earlier. If you have any doubts that he is totally dejected, check it out:

I don't see how he makes it through the season.

Tony Sparano, do not resign. We are willing to lose every game from here on, but do NOT resign. Let the Man fire you.

From the words of Al Davis " Just lose Baby"

Please excuse my brother as he is an idiot~

The only thing worse than having the Gayturds honored on UM's home field is Tim, MF'ING Tebow is going to kick the stuffing out of the Dolphins. FML!!!

DOLPHINS ARE A DISCRACE TO MIAMI !!! GO CANES

Borgnine? this is a joke right..lol..or are you just trying to check my age..Dirty Dozen,Vera Cruz, good actor..But I prefered Bronson and Eastwood..actually

I HAVE A FEELING WE ARE GOING TO WIN SUNDAY!!!!
Oh Im gonna get bashed bz DC for this..LOL

Whatever...

And what the "suck for Luck" campaigners fail to realize, is that those against this campaign are clearly aware of the situation of this Team/Franchise. We are just against the total concept of promoting losing, and carrying signs in our stadium promoting 0-16, suck for luck etc...its a disgrace, and the fans which carry out this campaign by carrying signs are exactly why the Dolfans have become the blunt of jokes etc. Nothing wrong with realizing your team is sucking, nothing wrong with thinking they might lose all 16 games..But promoting it is a whole different concept. it takes brown bags to whole different level of disgrace..get some real attention by promoting "FIRE IRELAND NOW"

NICE TRY!

F**K TIM TEBOW...F**K THE GAYTURDS...

F**K THE DOLPHINS ORGANIZATION, TOO!!...the only reason that the game is being shown on TV is because Budweiser and channel 4 bought up all the remaining seats....NOT BECAUSE THE "CHOIR BOY" is in town.

Again, nice try at some "sensationalized journalism" - MORON!

What year is this?

What year is this?

The year before the end! the final chapter!

Timmy...Timmy...he's my man.

If he can't win the game...nobody can:D

GOOOOOOOO TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why hasn't Bryant Gumble gotten fired yet for his comments about the NBA Players?

Also, How's Dez Bryant doing in Dallas? I hear he has alot, and I mean ALOT of off the field issues....staying healthy is an issue for him also.

FROM 66 TO 96 ------- 2 COACHES AND 3 STARTING QB'S. WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED???

Tebow gets it done. He may not be the best QB or very accrate but the guy is a winner.
