Stephen Ross: No coaching change now

Another Dolphins game.

Another loss -- this one a 20-17 loss to the New York Giants.

Following the game, Miami Herald report Barry Jackson asked owner Stephen Ross if a change is coming. It is a weekly post-game ritual now as the Dolphins are 0-7 on the season.

"No,' Ross replied.

So into next week the Dolphins go. They travel to Kansas City next week.

NYG,

Yea, ross just needs to buy out his contract already(He deserves that much I guess, after what happened last year) But save some face and tell the guy straight up "Dont plan on being here next year coach" so at the very least allows us to OFFICIALLY BE in the market for a new HC.......and to stop all the media calling for his firing every week!!!

If Cam was not fired during the 1-15 season;maybe TS will roam the sidelines until the last game of the season...

The Dolphins QB is sitting on the Patriots bench.....

Offer Belichek a 2nd and a 6th for Mallett....and lets get back to the buisness of winning....

No surprised. But the team played a tough game. Bush played real well. The defense wasn't that bad. No big plays. And that is really killing us.
Bad call on Marshall but you could feel something coming that was going to change the game. Too bad it was the refs that had to do it. Next week, take out a zebra (accidently of course) and keep doing it until they quit screwing up.

As much as I want Luck myself after all these years of lousy QB play, I have to say that I really felt for some of our players today given their individual efforts. You can`t falt Moore a great deal he played above his head until the G-Men caught a lead and pinned there ears back, Bush was lights out and interesting enough how about the holes for him to run thru left with the more fleet footed N.Garner out there.

The B.Marshall pass interference call was as bogus as it gets and on D with the exception of the DB`s everybody played their hearts out. At this point though I`m more focused on next years draft than I am anything else and with the Colts looking like they did back in the 80`s I guess it`s just as well even though I promise everybody that in the Fins locker room nobody wants to hear it right now. I will say this todays loss will really put a nail in the coffin with this team psyche, how deflating a loss!!

Mike Pouncey, Incognito, Jake Long are hurt, some of them, probably have had their careers finished; and of course, more of them to come. Tony won't resign, Ross won't fire him and the League does nothing about it. Meanwhile, People continue to get hurt. The Player's Association?

My problem is that I get sick every time I see Sparano. I hate him like I hate abusive dog owners. Seeing him as his team loses games in the fourth quarter makes me have visions of beating him senseless with a two by four. He has come to symbolize all that has gone wrong with this team.

The USC Stanford game last night was a thriller.

If Luck, Barkley plays like that in the NFL it's going to come close to reminding me of the Class of 83. Those were the years of excitement.

I tell you Mat Barkley looked great also.

I think that Sparano was coaching the Cardinals, too. Up 24-0, lose 30-27 to a very average Raven offense...

Trust me Matthew,

I would probably ditto that twice more if I saw Jeff Ireland roaming the sidelines as well...just sayin!!!

oscar canosa,

The players assocuation is still busy counting thier money. lol

This and the other games have made it very simple and clear as to what the Dolphins' major malfunction is. The O and D lines can't win games. During key downs, the O line is sieve and the D line can't apply enough pressure consistently. Bottom line, Ireland and Sparano have failed to build trustworthy lines and do not have a winning QB. You can go on and on with many other deficiencies like secondary covg etc etc but without dependable O and D lines, you are going exactly nowhere fast.

Get rid of the greaseball Sparano!

Think it's time to shut Jake Long down for this year. Get him rested up for 2012.

I would advise Luck to embrace the suck. He's coming to Miami, and he and his purported greatness will be swallowed alive. But how great could he really be anyway? It took him 8 OTs to beat an unranked team last night.

What makes some of you think Belichek will just trade Mallett to us just because we want him?

Most Players are competitors and they will not lay down. There are 9 Games left and they will continue to get more and more hurt. Then?

I think they should shut down thomas as well, no sense in running behind that awful line right now.......likely to tear an acl...

I would advise Luck to embrace the suck.

I think he has. He's just saying what he says for the cameras.

"We will find out together if Suck for Luck is dead" - Armando.

It is time to declare Suck for Luck officially dead. This team played to win today. They tackled well, made some nice plays on both offense and defense and showed that they want to win. They played hard today despite the fact that there are some LOSER Dolphin fans who were happy to see them lose another game and be one step closer to the first pick in the draft.

"It's not whether you win or lose. It's how you play the game."

The fans who continue to comment on how "other teams play thru injuries and still win" or "injuries are part of the game it's next man up" couldn't fathom what was achieved on the field today. The team played together as a team. They played to win and, although the outcome was a loss, they played with the desire to win the game. Were there mistakes made? Sure. Did the Giants make mistakes? Sure did. But, If Miami won today's game what would the comments be then? "Miami didn't win today. The Giants lost." or "The Gianst handed the Dolphins the Game."
Sorry, but if you're on the Suck for Luck train I hope it gets derailed and it crashes with you on it. You're not a true fan and I wouldn't want your comments about this team to be misconstrued as comments coming from a real Dolphin fan. You, if anyone, give this team a bad reputation. So, change teams if that is your attitude.

I think I agree with mallett being our best option right now. He sits behind the best (ugh) for a year, colts will get luck, we get Blackmon or woods after trading down and get some more great picks for the d and o line, trade for secondary (one sFety and corner) and we get this going.

unless miami has an established coach in place, luck won't come to miami. and with miami's current silly ownership and the team's newfound reputation as the nfl's doormat, my guess is no quality coach would sign on. best thing we can hope for is a new celebrity to sing the national anthem and stake their claim as another part-owner.

I'm hoping for LUCK so the result today works for me, but I have to say- that did NOT look like a winless team today.

The players are definitely NOT on the Suck for Luck bandwagon. They played hard, and have SOME talent.

The Fins have personnel issues for sure, and the coaching is not NFL caliber. But the team did look pretty good until the end.

But really, was anybody shocked at the final outcome?

sorry folks cowher already said he will not coach next season. here is how it will go. ross will not fire sparano, he will keep him around again next season, as well as ireland, and we will see the same crap next year.

Matt Moore lost this game and he needs to be held accountable for it.

Definitive play - 3rd and 13, run Bush up the middle. Unquestionably a give-up play by the coaches. Completely downhill from there...

I'm not saying we would have gotten the 1st down had we took a real shot, but we would have had a chance, and giving up just seemed to destroy the attitude and attack of the team.

UHM, NO!!!! THE TRAIN IS ONTIME AND TICKETS ARE STILL SELLING!!!! 0-7, NOW ON TO KANSAS CITY!!!!!!

Everyone asks after each loss if Sparano is getting fired. When Ross apologized to Sparano for conducting a search for his replacement behind his back, he also extended Sparano's contract so unless Ross goes back on his word, expect to see Sparano til the end of the season, which at this point is probably a good thing. The fan base (those on the "suck 4 luck" bandwagon) should be asking Ross NOT to fire him after each game.

Right now top three picks are likely in this order....

1. Colts(They Look AWFUL)
2. Dolphins(Their just as dysfucntional as any team right now)
3. Rams(ray of hope in shocking saints today, there still playing hard and winning games they shouldnt)

You love to push buttons, don't you?

moore didn't lose the game. the o-line was garbage once again, the d didn't stop anyone once again. that's who lost the game!

I would advise Luck to embrace the suck. He's coming to Miami, and he and his purported greatness will be swallowed alive. But how great could he really be anyway? It took him 8 OTs to beat an unranked team last night.

Suck for Luck continues because the Fins allow it to continue. Another loss, another chance at Luck. You don't like it, go back to Israel.

Who would have thought that AJ Feely would have more wins than the Dolphins this year....

Rams will take Blackmon with their pick. They need weapons for Bradford. Even if it's the first pick Blackmon is probably their guy.

NO WAY do we go into next year with Sparano and Ireland again. NO F'ing WAY!

This crap has an expiration date-January 2012.

Not saying I want cowher but he hedged a little if the quotes are correct-- he has no 'plans' to coach next year...that could be true & he could still end up coaching.
Agree with those saying Parcells seems to get a pass, for his serious failures.

Loved watching these bums lose today. We need Regime Change.

NY "G",

I was real impressed with Barkley as well last night he really looks game himself. If the Colts beat us in the Luck sweepstakes something looking more possible by the day given they still have Painter on the field and maybe are really by order of their owner tanking a season then a trade down with Barkely targeted low 1st Rd. might work not sure how I feel about Landry or RG111

everyone ask yourself one question, if you were luck would play for this staff . it starts at top you just can't fire the owner

Switch over to CBS to see a REAL QB! Dolphins suck big dick.

God this team has so many needs: QB, O-line, a true #2 WR (Hartline sucks), LBs, another pass rusher, a #2 CB (S. Smith sucks), safeties, etc.

Luck is a start, but boy this team needs an overhaul.

We will start next season with a new FO, new HC, and a new franchise QB. If not Luck, one of the other top prospects.

And hopefully the new admin will retool the roster as quickly as possible with wise choices in the draft and free agency.

I have to believe this. HOPE for the future.

No way in hell sparano will remain HC after this season dolphin 77, ILL PUT $$$ on that one bro

as far as Ireland goes, if ross wants a star HC, he MUST part ways with jeff...his reputation is already known through the league as *SHADY* in personality and his decision making has been questioned throughout nfl experts across the board......No way any GOOD coach comes here and wants to deal with that garbage.

who,big ben? it looks to me the patsies are getting their ass kicked!

Hey Dolfans, change that stupid song of yours if you want a winning franchise. You guys suck.

Patsy already declaring a win, is she.

No more Welfare! No more Affirmative Action! Ya No Mas!

Also -

Let's stop with the Mallett talk. He's on another team, they drafted him to keep him, and I don't know if you really watched him in college but as an Ole Miss/SEC fan I did, and he's no winner. He folded under pressure and always played his worst when his best was needed.

I'd love to have Andrew Luck on this team, but we've no guarantees even if we lose out and get the top pick. "Suck for Luck" is fun to talk about but I'd really kinda hate to think our players would ever try that.

We do actually have some talented guys on this team, some that I've even seen a few posters want cut. Bell? Hartline? Both good players. Bell's talent is lost without the help of a real free safety - he's an excellent strong safety but he's no "QB of the secondary". Hartline is a good receiver who always seems to have a presence in the game. You don't cut that guy, you find players to compete with him and if they are good enough to beat him, you keep him as depth and find ways to use him.

For God's sake, use Reggie Bush the right way. Same for Devone Bess - why do I keep seeing our best slot receiver lined up near the sideline?

I'm no coach. But this is nuts.

grow up

RON PAUL 2012!!!!!

it would not surprise me one bit if ross keeps these jokers around again. even if he doesn't, cowher, fisher, or gruden will not be the coach.

If we were to draft Luck we will also be in the market for a couple pass catching TEs. The man loves his tight ends. That didn't sound right but you know what I mean.

RON PAUL NOW!!!!!!!!

VOTE FOR RON PAUL!!!!!

Jeffie is history too.

Not saying I want cowher but he hedged a little if the quotes are correct-- he has no 'plans' to coach next year...that could be true & he could still end up coaching.

True but my take on Cowher's comments are to read between the lines.

He said he has no plans on coaching next yeay but he didnt say he wouldent be open to the HC/GM job. Keeping my fingers crossed he comes out and down to Miami.

RON PAUL WILL SHUT DOWN THE FEMA CAMPS, END THE PATRIOT ACT, RESTORE ALL OUR LIBETIES!!!!!!!

Suck for Luck continues because the Fins allow it to continue. Another loss, another chance at Luck. You don't like it, go back to Israel.
