Dolphins refute "report" on Chad Henne

It's a new world, people.

Apparently former NFL quarterback Jim Miller recently went on 640-Sports' Big O Show and said Chad Henne "packed it in" when he separated his left shoulder earlier this year. Miller said Henne knew the Dolphins weren't going to re-sign him and therefore he decided not to risk further injurying himself longterm.

The Dolphins are upset about this. The club released the following statement moments ago:

"The report that Chad Henne should have played with his injury is totally false and the speculation of the nature of that injury is not correct.

"The medical staff made it clear to Chad that he could not play with his injury and that his only option was surgery."

I dont' want to make too much about this because it is a blip on the radar screen of importance. Miller was giving his opinion, not reporting something. Not a big deal. Henne, meanwhile, actually sought a second opinion other than the team's to see if hecould play.

So even Miller's opinion is wrong. What is correct, however, is that the Dolphins are moving on from Henne. he will not be the starter next year, assuming someone with a brain is running the team. He's a backup.

Meanwhile, please post the best BBQ places you know of in Kansas City. That's what I'm doing this evening.

Does anyone really believe what this regime says??

Aloco and Dying Breed(yesterdays gone),

Nobody even tried to hint around that this team isn't terrible. Probably the worst in the league right now. Nobody was blaming the refs for our level of incompetence.

Let me try and straighten this out a little: The Dolphins are a terrible, TERRIBLE team-RIGHT NOW-PERIOD.

Having said that though, for the past two weeks this terrible team was on the verge of handing out a couple of upsets. For whatever reasons and purposes the refs "stepped in" and made sure it didn't happen.

To quote SpOranus: "I've watched the tape".

When or " IF" you rewatch it on tape(warning, it's painful and can cause damage to your HD system), keeping in mind the score, situation(s) and time remaining, it blatantly obvious the role the refs play in securing the desired outcome.

I'm not blaming the officiating for what's positively one of, if not the worst team in all of football.

But I am blaming the powers that be in the NFL for AT LEAST ATTEMPTING to manipulate the outcome of games through their officiating crews. Over the past 5 to 7 years, the NFL has began to operate in a very similar manner as the "World Wrestling Federation"!

Now go ahead, call me names, call me a conspiracist. But it's happening and not just with our team. It's happening more and more at all levels of play in the NFL today.

PS: At first I thought it was just favoritism shown to it's marquee players which is understandable and has been a benchmark of the NFL for years and years. However, now I'm convinced that it goes much, much deeper. At least over the past 5 seasons it has.

That's my two cents and WELCOME to "Big Time Football"!!!!

There is nothing to say and I understand that People that live off what they write, will write something. Me, as I know that, will skip this.

Since when is surgery for an injury "packing it in"? Are the players currently suffering from hamstring injuries also "packing it in"?

With the constant roster churning, why would anyone presume to know who is going to be re-signed? Just ask Will Allen.

Wassup Odin,

You are right about a couple of things...

The Dolphins have a very bad team overall. Not to say they are devoid of talent but they are at least bottom 3-5 depending on many variables such as strength of schedule, injuries, ref calls, execution etc.

The thing about your NFL Ref's steering games theory is there really is no way to prove it one way or the other. You may be 100% right and it is being done like you say OR it may be just coincidence that causes one's paranoia hackles to go up. When I see a media darling like the Saints get pummeled by the Rams or the lowly Jags whooping on a great NFL mean faced team like Baltimore it seems to pull away from the "Ref steering" theory imho.

Either way the "Phantom PI" call on Marshall late in the Giants game was a killer. Good teams battle past bad ref'ing most of the time...this doesn't describe this copy of the Fins, so they continue to find ways to lose.

The fact that the Fins fought hard most all the way in a tough game on the road when most pundits had them losing in a rout says miraculously the Fins haven't quit on Sparano. That would of been an easy game to roll over for if that was the prevailing mentality on the team.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

There is no reason that Henne would have packed it in, he had everything to gain with playing this season. Had he played, and played well he would have made millions of dollars now his future is uncertain.

Armando,

Thanks for trying Bud, but Jim Miller is a "Michigan State University" idiot, that thanks to his athletical skills turned out Dummer-inna Sack of Rocks.

He hates all things University of Michigan and all things Miami.

The bottom line: Henne was in a contract year and hadn't done much of anything to cement or secure his place in the NFL(in Miami or any other place for that matter). If there was ANY possibility, any chance for him to play this season, he would be playing.

Jack stacks is good BBQ. Little on the nicer side, but priced to almost give it away compared to sobe.

I actually feel like the Henne injury was a blessing in disguise.

He was doing ok from a numbers standpoint. He very easily could have fallen off or gotten worse from a numbers standpoint. It would seem the injury preserved what little stock he has as a starting caliber QB.

Maybe he can fetch something in a trade for the next regime? A possible 4rth or 5th that elevates to a 3rd with good play?

The injury also allows the team to find out what the team looks like with a different guy under center. In my opinion, Moore has put the team in position to win his last two games and the team as a whole has failed. Moore has acquited himself well (if the WRs,RBs and TEs catch even half of their drops Moores numbers would be better and may have changed the final scores) coming off the bench.

We know Moore is no Messiah but may end up being the Fins back up QB for the next regime.

Mallet would have been the best choice as now he would be getting valuable experience for 2012. You would enter 2012 with a QB with nearly a years experience.

Cheers,

Football Expert Because It Is On TV @1:09,

Maybe not becoming an "Instant Expert" as much but with the LSU Vs Bama tilt you may see a preview of some stud players that could be Fins next year.

Those are the two big heavyweights in college football going head to head. Bama's defense is as good as any in a decade or more. Their rosters are laden with NFL caliber talent.

Probably worth the view.

Cheers,

William of Titusville,

Maybe just a tad of the red haired paranormal activity... LOL

Good stuff Sir William.

Cheers,

odin,

DID YOU HEAR FROM DB SINCE HE WAS EVICTED FROM HIS CONDO FOR NOT PAYING THE LAST 7 MONTH RENT TO HIS EX WRESTLER LANDLORD ?

Aloco...Wasssssssup man?

Buffet of Knowledge is the place to be eh?

Well as a recommendation from you I will check that BBQ place out next time I'm in KC.

;)

Cheers,

Somewhat depends on where you are staying and how much you are willing to explore, but just ask the concierge, or just find a local, to point you in the right direction:

Gates and Arthur Bryant's are the most well known. Gates' own BBQ sauce and their BBQ sausage is well worth trying. Bryant's brisket sandwich is worth waiting in line for, and very big. Both are easy to find and get to.

Fiorella's is great for a sit down dinner, and you will never go wrong with a slab of their spare ribs. Quite amazing.

Oklahoma Joe's is quietly becoming the leader in KC BBQ. Their pulled pork is the best in town.

Danny Edwards is also a good option and close to downtown.

Avoid Rosedale BBQ, Famous Dave's, and Wyandotte BBQ.

I have no life. The best thing I have to do on the weekend is blog about a last place sports team with losers.

Rumors are flying around that the 0-16 lions possibly could have gone 1-15 but their QB packed it in during game 13 when they had a chance to win.

Remember that fumble, 2nd play of the 3rd quarter in game 4? Lions could have one that one too.

Just don't want him to fall in the Famous Dave's trap.

Also, avoid anything at the airport which slaps the name Arthur Bryant's on some substandard cold cut sandwich.

There is also a Gates food stand at Arrowhead, but it's probably best avoided.

You know, it just occurred to me, if we finish last, we could consider drafting Luck. Has that option crossed anyones mind?

What about a new coach? Not sure what anybody thinks about that but I'll go out on a limb and mention 3 possibilities.

Cowher
Fisher
Gruden

Henne has all the potential to be a top 5 QB, but we need to surround him with talent. He can't do it all on his own. Give him a probowl TE, a solid oline, Adrian Peterson and Larry Fitzgerald, and he will do well, you watch.

To be honest Jacks Stacks is awesome. The best burnt ends in the world but when I am in KC I prefer to eat at Capital Grill. Best callimari and steak you will find.

GATES...hands down. Burnt ends is what you are looking for.

You know your team is good, when, at a football blog, fans talk about the restaurants in the city your team will visit.

Way to go, Dolphins!

I've been a Dolphin fan living in KC since my dad took me to the X-mas day game in 72. BBQ is my favorite food also and have been on a quest to find the best in town. Really depends on what you want, beef sandwich, pulled pork, burnt ends or ribs.. I've found not ONE place have the best of all. So take the above advice and maybe try a couple places while you are here.

Dear Mr. Salguero

Never been to K.C. so I can't point you in any direction for BBQ.

However I do know Buffet's and I strongly suggest you avoid "Mr. Aloco's Buffet of knowledge and BBQ".

On a recent inspection of Mr. Aloco's I found only 2% knowledge in the Buffet and the BBQ was misspelled.

I believe Mr. Aloco has changed the name and address of the "Buffet of knowledge" to the "Buffet of Acorns" to avoid any health and safty regulations so levied against him.

Inspector Soiled :)

Yeah! LIVES!!!!!!!!
Chad henne is a bum so who cares if he packed it in or not! I was yelling NOOOOOOOOOO! when they drafted him so good riddance to him.

Hi Armando, I live in KC and the best BBQ in town is at Oklahoma Joes. They are not open on sunday, however, so be sure to get some tonight. You will not regret it.

Armando,

Where ever you go, do try the BBQ crow with hot sauce.

There was a very objective article by one of these Dolphin's bloggers with an interview with an MD which specializes in muscle injuries. The Docs advice for a hamstring injury? Rest. 6 weeks. For prevention? Rigorous exercise program with full stretching, proper hydration.

Meanwhile, we bystanders watch as our players get ruined. Like Daniel Thomas, Vontae Davis(yes, I know, but they made him practice), others, Jake Long being more ruined, maybe Mike Pouncey with a "healed" neck injury, and so on. For what purpose?

I'll say it again, this conflict between Sparano and Ross is destroying our Team.

Mando, just go to the stadium. Those Chief fans are probably tailgating already. I'm sure they will feel sorry for you for the fact you cover a winless team & fix you up a plate.

I'll say it now. Don't buy Tony Sparano as a nice guy. He don't give a fu-k about any of you players, and, on the contrary, he's trying to harm the most of you, just to get back at Ross. That's called vendetta(a reasonable one).

I'll say it now. Don't buy the idea that Tony Sparano is a nice guy now. He, at the momenmt, doesn't give a fu-k about any of you players and, moreover, is trying to harm some of you. That, is called vendetta(a reasonable one).

Why the hell did we get caught between this thing?

Does ANYONE really give a rats ass about this article whatsoever??

I mean, common man! WE SUCK and lets finish this season on one high note which is that we will have a new Coach and hopefully a new GM and QB

The owner CAN screw that up though and that would involve if he opts to keep Ireland or Sparano.

We SUCk so get used to it and tat is that.

Stay the course. Both Henne and Sparano have shown improvement this year. Changing coaches every 3 years doesn't work. Give these guys another couple of years to put it together. This team needs just one win Sunday and can go 9-7 from there.

Look, the guy has MORE than "earned" the right to be fired (and will be at season's end) but I think that hypothesis is just ludicrous in the extreme.

Nobody who will be out there seeking another job in the offseason (and rest assured he WILL resurface as an NFL assistant or college coach) would ever behave in a manner like that.

Your hatred of the man is clouding reality, friend.

The best part of the entire posting was totally un dolphin related...we are at the point in the season where to eat BBQ is totally more important than this team and she be treated as such. No disrespect but not worth our time reporting at all. Armando I know that was a message where it is better not report at all because this team does not deserve thI coverage. I will still be watching, i still have interest in this team, I am not band wagon and will only be rooting for a winning team. The fact that a read a blog during week 9 shows I still care and I am am interested but this team has to earn our interest back. What kills me is they are competitive and question coaching in the redzone and this competitiveness will cost us luck.

maybe he did pack it in....Who really gives a rats @ss at this point in hennes career....it is what it is and and HENNE is no more.........Than somebodys probable backup.....

"The fact that a read a blog during week 9 shows I still care and I am am interested but this team has to earn our interest back."

I think we went to teh same medical school Dr. Alex!

I think it is a horrible statement by Miller, opinion or not. Did he talk to the Dolphins or Henne before blabbing his mouth about it? Did he do ANY research before he basically called Henne a coward? It is a BIG deal, Armando, to label someone a quitter (without any supporting evidence) because as we all know the power of persuasion has no bounds. Miller's "opinion" is rather slanderous, in my opinion. I'm not saying this because I think Henne should be our starter next year, I'm stating this because Miller's opinion was based on his own ego and no facts whatsoever.

"This team is going to win, okaaaaaay?", Tony Sparano, Team Luncheon, August 2011.

SOILED..............THE WORST FOOD FOR HUMANS IS THE BBQ FOOD .IT'S MADE FOR HORSES .

Worse than bbq is chinese food. It's all chemicals, artificial crap ingredients, sugar, cornstarch, glue, its like cheap candy with tons of salt.

CHEF,

RIGHT ON...........

WORST FOOD;;;;;;;;

BBQ
CHINESE
ADD TO THAT

ITALIAN FOOD DONE BY DOMINO'S ...........

Yeah, jr? Tell me your reality.

He-is-getting-People-hurt

ONE OF THE WORST FOOD YOU CAN EAT ,IS A PIZZA TAKE OUT.JUST BAD AS HELL B/C PIAZZA MUST BE EATEN OUT OF THE OVEN RIGHT AWAY ,NOT COVERED IN A CRAPPY BAG AND DRIVEN BY A CAR FOR 10 MINUTES /..

- You have to get an injection. - Fu-k you, man, I ain-t playing with this shoulder.

"I can't take this pain..", VD.

What QB didn't our offensive line or lack of get hurt first Penny, then, Henne, Moore. Last year Henne played with a banged up knee. If anyone here watched him in college they would never call the guy a coward. Sure a lot of you guys don't like the guy cause he has the class and perseverance you could only hope for. leave the young guy alone and wait for the next fool QB that would want to play for you pee brain fans ( not all of you) but the jerks know who they are! And I bet they won't play for a mere $550. Henne was really playing well have a look at the other OB playing for millions than see how smart you are!!!!

Why would Henne risk anything for this franchise or it's fans, he has been treated like crap by both. He will make a nice living else wear, and if he lands in the right situation should be very productive. I wish him the best of luck.

This is no blip. This is a full out power supply failure. I always thought Chad packed it in. Stafford toughed it out last year but Chad is a little biach.

Armando,

Just because you get information from, "a team source", don't always consider it the gospel truth. This regimes' intent to say one thing and do another may be the only consistency I've observed.

Mando, you to far away. The best BBQ is in So Fla.

How funny is that? The Dolphins refute the report of Henne packing it in is almost like they are saying "No, we aren't cheating at this, we aren't laying down...WE GENERALLY SUCK THIS BAD..."

You can not make this stuff up...
