Brandon Marshall talks to reporters once a week while the Dolphins are in their weekly preparations, with rare exceptions.
He talked Wednesday afternoon. But the story about his run-in with a taxi driver following a night of partying at the Fountainbleu Hotel two weeks ago came out Wednesday night.
So he addressed the issue Thursday.
This is how it went:

yes cause shanny is a genius, lol hmmmmmm
Posted by: dusty bottoms | December 01, 2011 at 06:04 PM
Dusty.....Shanny is a genius....I have been told so many times on this blog....
Even when I point out that Elway was the TRUE architect behinds Shannanhan's offence......many seem to discount Elway's talent....and give all the credit to Shanny......
But for some reason that talk has died down after the season started....I wonder why....
Posted by: kris | December 01, 2011 at 06:11 PM
shanny has been awful since elway and davis left. guy is a joke in washington, playing rb and qb carousel
Posted by: dusty bottoms | December 01, 2011 at 06:13 PM
anytime a coach changes quarterbacks as often as Shanahan does in Washington means he doesn't have an answer. However, look at who is offensive coordinator is.
Posted by: Professor Lou | December 01, 2011 at 06:18 PM
I do believe that Elway......was the driving force behind Shanny....
However.....
I also believe that Belicheat is the driving force.....behind Brady....
weird....

Professor Lou....
While I agree with your post....I would like to add that I think its a bit deeper than that....
I think Shanny's EGO is the reason he is in the state he is in.....
He believed the press clipping....soaked in what ESPN was saying....convinced himself that HIS SYSTEM was responsible for the Bronco's SB's.....and that he could duplicate the same success regardless of the QB....
apparently he thought wrong.....
Posted by: kris | December 01, 2011 at 06:24 PM
Kris,
I think your 100% right on Shanahan.
I think that happens to the majority of Head Coaches when they taste success.
It happend to me and I was only Coaching Pop Warner!

..Wow. I just got back from a root canal and heard this over the radio..
Raiders MLB Rolando McClain arrested today for discharging a firearm. I guess form the story. McClain had the gun pointed at some dudes head. He discharged the gun next to the guys ear..I don't know much more. Serious stuff. Makes a taxi cab squabble seem like a fart in the bathtub.

Odin....
I can believe it....
I'm sure its hard to keep your ego in check when Billionaire's throw millions at you.....
who can really blame him....
The real question now is this....
After back to back losing season's....how will Shanny respond....will he re-group...and learn from his mistakes...
Or will he pull a Sporano.....
and go for the Tri-fecta...in terms of losing seasons.....

The Marshall incident is pretty much a Non-Story.
As someone pointed out earlier, he'd been out having drinks and partying, then takes a cab home. He should be commended if anything, for not thinking he's above the law or thinking he "Could Handle It" and trying to drive anyway.
I read the police reports and Marshall admits to "Waking up(passed out)in the cab. Considering this, I would like to be the first to commend him on his self control.
Can you imagine waking up from a good drunken stupor with a foreign cabbie in your face babbling jibberish about: Pay me MONEY? Pay me Money?
I'm pretty confident I would've added AT LEAST another assault and battery charge to my resume.
Good Job Brandon!

Odin....while I commend you for seeing the bright side of this...and it your take is bright....
I do think we have to look at the the entire pic here....
In NO WAY would i entertain the thought of trade talk for Marshall....
but c'mon man...(Daryl too).....
Marshall is one bad news story after another....I hope he survives the off-season....
and WTF is a man who got stabbed by his wife doing out anyway....and getting SO DRUNK that he can't defend himself.....
Some people never learn....

Police said the victim, whose name was not released, suffered injuries to his head and face during a fight with Willingham. He was bleeding when officers talked to him.
“The victim told officers that following the fight, he crawled to his car,” the police statement said. “He said that when he reached his car, Rolando McClain produced a pistol and aimed it at him. He said that while he was still on the ground, McClain walked over to him and put the gun to his head.”
Police said the victim told officers “he begged McClain not to shoot him and that McClain took the gun away from his head, held it next to his ear and fired it.”
McClain was facing legal problems in Alabama before his arrest.
A University of Alabama student sued McClain in November 2010 claiming the former Crimson Tide star hit him with a car and assaulted him in 2008. Stanford Matthew Mangham filed suit in circuit court in Morgan County, where Decatur is located.
Mangham claims McClain intentionally hit him twice at an intersection on Nov. 13, 2008 and then slung Mangham to the ground, causing permanent injuries. He is seeking $75,000 plus punitive damages.
Earlier this year McClain, the 2009 Butkus Award winner at Alabama, reported someone in Decatur shooting at his vehicle. There wasn’t any indication whether the two incidents were related.

Believing that Marshall is a non-story....to me......is the same as fans believing the Dolphins are "better" because they won 3 in a row.....never mind the fact that they lost 7 in a row to start the season....and 11 in a row dating back to last season.....
We NEED to hold our TEAM...and our PLAYERS to a HIGHER STANDARD....

MARSHALL....SHOULD BE DISCIPLINED BY THE FINS....
Whether it is money....or game time.....a QUARTER...or 4 QUARTERS....this FO needs to enforce one some standards....

MARSHALL....SHOULD BE DISCIPLINED BY THE FINS....
-With all due respect Mr. Kris(attorney speak), what exactly should Marshall be disciplined for?
While I agree it's dangerous and ignorant to "press your luck(coming home drunk)" to the wife he has, ignorance is not -YET- a disciplinary infraction.

Standards and conduct codes are good things, I agree whole heartedly. It is all of our responsibility, as a society, to walk this fine line from time to time.
However, it is my intention to show that the prosecution(Mr. Kris)has NOT proven that a crime has even occurred. I submit to you(more attorney speak), ladies and gentlemen of the blog, that my client has not committed ANY acts that violate any standards or said conduct codes WHATSOEVER.
I maintain that not only should my client not be disciplined, it is my belief that his cool headed-ness and self control should be commended at the very least.
Mr. Marshall's conduct was exemplary in avoiding conflict in what was very obviously a trying and troubling situation caused by this dirty foreigner!
With that, I thank you Ladies and Gentlemen of the Blog.

since when do you have to actually have to commit a crime to be DISCIPLINED or PUNISHED in the NFL....
Perception is the name of the game.....
and this is all about standards and policy as you mentioned in your "very eloquent" argument....
However...there is no burden of proof to prove....
Conduct Detrimental.....is a VERY BROAD TERM......

Most male Borderline/Antisocial personalities beguin to quiet down in their 40's. Women with this disorder do it sooner.
Posted by: oscar canosa | December 01, 2011 at 08:09 PM
Kris,
For one, I never mentioned you by name. Talk about comprehension skills.
For two, disciplining your player because there was a communication gap between he and the cabby?
Let's discipline him because his wifey stabbed him. That's makes a whole lot of sense.
Let's discipline him because at times he says dumb things during interviews.
Let's discipline him because he threw a ball at Vonte Davis' drunken skull during practice.
The list goes on and on, but, hardly a concrete reason for disciplining him by the league nor team. Get a fvcking grip! LOL
Posted by: yesterday's gone | December 01, 2011 at 08:13 PM
Marshall's been clinically diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Yet people like kris and Armando seem to find it annoying he keeps having little "unpunishable spats in his life.
Duh.......... What part of borderline personality disorder dont you two idiots understand? Both you and Armando need to get a fvcking grip.
What's next, pick on parapallegics because they fall while trying to get up out of wheel chairs? Geesh!
Posted by: yesterday's gone | December 01, 2011 at 08:19 PM
You disciplining Marshall because he exhibits patterns of this type of behavior.........have you COMPREHEND ANYTHING i have wrote.....this is not about a SINGLE incident....its about the PATTERN.....
read below....especially the last TWO sentences....
------------------------------------------------Goodell's memo, a copy of which was obtained Thursday, reads:
"The Policy makes clear that NFL and club personnel must do more than simply avoid criminal behavior. We must conduct ourselves in a way that 'is responsible, that promotes the values upon which the league is based, and is lawful.' This standard reflects the recognition that the conduct and behavior of our players and other league and team employees is critically important. Whether it involves your team or another, these incidents affect us all -- every investigation, arrest, or other allegation of improper conduct undermines the respect for our league by our fans, lessens the confidence of our business partners and threatens the continued success of our brand.
"As your club begins its offseason programs and approaches the Draft, I encourage you to be vigilant in reinforcing this message with your players and staff. It makes no difference whether an incident occurs during the season or in the off-season. At every opportunity, you should remind them of your standards and the public’s expectations, of the need to use good judgment, particularly when in a public place, and of the resources available to help us all in meeting these standards."

Geesh, the real kicker is that these with doctors are sporting PHD's on thier walls and the best diagnosis that they can come up with ois to tell a client he's almost crazy?
90% OF OUR ENTIRE SOCIETY COULD QUALIFY FOR "ALMOST CRAZY"! WTH DID YOU GUYS THINK BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER MEANT? NEARLY ALL OF US COULD BE DIAGNOSED AS ALMOST CRAZY, INCLUDING ARMANDO. WHAT AN OVERLY AMBIGUOUS DIAGNOSIS! LOL...

Kris,
Everything else that's going on here aside, that's exactly want I was doing. Mainly just for conversations sake.
The one serious comment I would make though, is keep the disciplinary actions FAIR and CONSISTENT.
Also, don't make it overbearing or petty. In other words, don't sweat the small stuff and let the boys be boys.
Otherwise, you'll have divisiveness, resentment and ultimately players disrespecting Team Authority, Policy, Conduct Codes, etc, etc.
(Ps: I do believe I missed my calling. I should have been an attorney):)
