Tight end Anthony Fasano said Thursday he expects to play Sunday when the Dolphins finish their 2011 season with a home game against the New York Jets. Fasano missed last week's game with a concussion but he has passed tests this week, has been cleared and is practicing.
The rest of the Dolphins injury news isn't so good.
RB Reggie Bush (knee), CB Jimmy Wilson (hamstring) and ILB Karlos Dansby (personal reasons) did not practice for the second consecutive day Thursday.
Bush's knee is serious enough that Miami signed Richard Medlin off its practice squad earlier this week. Rookie Daniel Thomas, who has been slowed by a knee injury the last couple of weeks, has practice full this week so his timing is good.
Dansby has not been with the team because he is dealing with a death in the family. There is no definite timetable for getting Dansby back at this point.
Defensive coordinator Mike Nolan said the issue is not only getting Dansby back, but making sure Dansby's mind is right.
Backup Marvin Mitchell, who is the next linebcker up in the rotation, has been getting snaps in games, and has been working with the first team defense this week, is expected to see playing time regardless of whether Dansby is right or not.
RT Marc Colombo, who missed practice altogether on Wednesday with an ankle injury, returned on a limited basis Thursday. I expect he will play.
WRs Clyde Gates (groin) and Brandon Marshall (knee) were limited in their practice participation today.

odin,
I think Ross will be very clear on his need to sell tickets next season were it relates to the draft and what Ireland will do with his picks. I read were some say that it isn't important to owners all that much anymore because of the TV money windfall and wonder were these people get their info. from.
I believe each owner receives from the NFL something like 150 Million out of which they pay their respective player payrolls. They still need their respective stadium revenue in order to line they're own pockets, it's not as cut and dry as some think. It is a well known fact that the Miami Dolphins were one of only two teams to show a financial loss in 2010 with a little over 7 Million in red ink and given the large drop off in attendance should have done even worse this year.
Ross NEEDS to get attendance back up if he intends to keep the team this being my worry with all the L.A. talk something now dead in the water with the League set on sending S.D. there. Ross who I've read plays close attention to Sport Radio understands that drafting a Q.B. even one who might ride the bench early is necessary for his precarious team financial situation.
We the FANS need to squeeze even harder to make sure Ross leaves nothing to chance in his very clear instructions to Ireland who we all know will do exactly as told even throwing his own Mother under the Bus if need be to keep his job.

Coalition,
No offense taken. I'm not really you're typical drunk. I'm that rare exception that you see drinking steadily, but never really getting out of hand(unless you happen to be female :). Not in the past decade anyways-LOL.
I somehow got blessed with an anti alcoholism gene(unless I just have some denial of epic proportions going on).
Anywhoo, I should have guessed you were a Bourban Guy. It's a standard in my book. That and Rum!

Wow! I'm actually going to agree with Coalition here.
Ireland seems to me like the type of guy I never wanted to be around or have to count on for anything.
When push comes to shove, the weaselly little whiskers come out. No loyalty, no honor, just a self absorbed egotistical douche Bag!
Throw Momma under the bus, Friends, the wife and/or kids. Whatever it takes to make Jeffy look good.
My biggest fear is that because he's been such a coat tail rider, now that he's on the spot, he's going to crumble like the fraud he is.
I hope I'm wrong and I hope for the best. But the thought is there.

I had a feeling(and posted as much)that SpOrano sealed his own fate when he decided to count on Clombo this year.
The guy is a living Blooper Reel. I wouldn't have tolerated it on my High School Freshmen Team. ABSOLUTELY and CONSISTANTLY PATHETIC!

DOES anyone really give a rats ass on this???
Really Armando, i know you are just doing you job but the headline should read
"Dolphins injury situation for finale not great, BUT WHO REALLY freaking cares?"
Instead we should be hoping that we freaking lose against the jets as we already are screwed by these meaningless BS waste of time and effort wins this season.
We were playing for______?
We freaking moved out of the draft negotiations because of that crap.
Geez is it only me???

NY "G" @7:31,
I hear you loud and clear but in all honesty can't say I can sit through games hoping to loose, my competitive nature always prevails in that internal conflict. I wanted and still want with a passion to draft one of these Q.B.'s but wont say I didn't like the character effort we got from some guys towards the end when they were basically going through the motions of finishing the Season, alot of teams mail it in by that point and they kept trucking like troopers.
The point you make is solid but my bigger concern really is in the ineptitude of Ireland with whom it really doesn't matter because anywhere from picks 4 - 9 will find a way to get hustled again into some boneheaded move that will leave us all scratching our heads again, really don't get Ross on this issue and beginning to wonder if Ireland has picks of him with Gay escorts or something. All in all Ireland is the sorriest chump I have ever seen and probably can't even take a dump between his shoes without proper instruction.

NY G, Check Google Translater, I dont know if they have the Aloco to English translator though.
Posted by: Just A Coalition. | December 29, 2011 at 07:53 PM
fin4life,
LOL... Ireland the scout occupying the GM office is the most pathetic move ever.
He has a resume of working in the NFL as a scout for KC for 2 seasons before being let go, went to the Cowboys as a Scout and Parcells brings the Scout and Diaper boy Sparano to the Fins and gives him a title of GM. He gave him that title because parcells was really doing all the work and it shows how useless Ireland is.
Some on here are phrasing Jeffy boy but really... You, I and anyone with any football knowledge would have done a better job.
I can not believe that Ross is going to keep the scout Ireland, hence is why I been saying Ireland will be sent packing soon and it can not be soon enough.
Posted by: NY "G" | December 29, 2011 at 07:55 PM
An Aloco translator?? Hmmmmm, thats probably the best way to put it, LOL!
Posted by: fin4life | December 29, 2011 at 07:55 PM
NY "G",
I knew the resume all to well and when I remember the Parcells hire today in hindsight I can't help but think that Arthur Blank and the Atl. Falcons were the true winners, remember they got the consolation prize that Huzienga would have hired had the Tuna gone to Atl. in their G.M. Thomas Dimitroff who learned his craft under Pioli and the Patriot F.O. and was actually the Assistant G.M. with some experience at the job when Blank hired him. Oh well, at least given the bad track record in the draft of one Bill Bellichik running that teams F.O. since 2008 we now know that B.Kraft must be kicking himself for letting that up and comer walk.

Coalition,
I will watch what RG111 does tonight with all the great pressure to perform with the eyes of the Football World on him. I know his talent is off the charts athletically but wonder how he adapts to the Pro game. I've seen interviews and he seems like a real sharp kid but while phenomenal his upside there is the prospect that he could be a monumental flop as well, don't want to drink the CAM Kool Aid to quickly and will watch him to see how he handles the pressure of the bright lights tonight.

Dear Mr. Salguero
Earlier in evening there was some discussion about why Dan Marino didn't stay in a front office position with the Dolphins.
Little known fact is that if Dan Marino had kept the position Wayne Hizinga insisted that any decision Dan Marino would have made would have to be balanced out by a decision made by Tom Olivadotti.
Even today, Thurmon Thomas and Don Beebe run through Dan Marino's yard tearing up his shrubs and bushs

Whatever happened with that?
