Did the Dolphins interview best Green Bay assistant?

The Dolphins have announced their interivew with Green Bay offensive coordinator Joe Philbin has concluded this Saturday afternoon.

Great.

I'm wondering if they interviewed the best Green Bay assistant?

The fact of the matter is many NFL people I speak with tell me the biggest budding star in the Green Bay Packers coaching staff is assistant head coach Winston Moss. Yes, Joe Philbin is considered to be a very good coach. He is a solid X and O guy and he has no problem communicating with most of his players.

But those same people tell me Moss commands a room when he walks into it. Those people tell me when Moss speaks, everyone listens. They tell me Moss will be a head coach in the NFL and if he gets into the right situation, he will be a bigtime winner because he knows football, knows how to pick good people, and is a natural leader.

And so again, I ask, are the Dolphins interviewing the right Green Bay assistant?

I know this: The Oakland Raiders are becoming the Green Bay Packers of the west. They've asked former Packers general manager Ron Wolf his opinion on all things from hiring a general manager to hiring a head coach. No, Wolf is not oficially working for Oakland but his words are resonating.

So it comes as no surprise the Raiders hired former Green Bay director of football operation Reggie McKenzie on January 5. McKenzie has the power to fire and hire head coaches. And, again, people I'm speaking with tell me McKenzie is seriously considering firing head coach Hue Jackson.

And if that happens, McKenzie will ask for permission to interview, you guessed it, Winston Moss.

So the people from Green Bay who best know the people working within the organization are moving to Oakland and when they think of bringing other Green Bay people with them, they're probably going to be talking to Winston Moss.

And the Dolphins, admirers of what the Packers have done, look at the Packers staff and don't include Moss in the interview process? I'm not saying, don't talk to Philbin. I am saying, absolutely talk to Moss!

Oh, one more thing:

Winston Moss is from Miami. He was born here. He went to Southridge High School here. (I remember interviewing him after a high school game and he ended the interview with, "Thank you, sir.") Moss also went to The University of Miami.

Moss was the leader at Southridge. He was a leader on The U team that won a lot of games and had a lot of Alpha males on it. They listened to Moss. He was a leader as an NFL player also. He was a team captain three times in his pro career and was voted winner of the Ed Block Courage Award on the 1993 Raiders and an Unsung Hero Award in 1996 by the NFL Players Association.

The man's impressive to practically everyone who knows him.

Why the Dolphins talk to him, I have no idea.

See, Sean Payton is a very good and daring Coach. He's keeping the ball out of Stafford's hands, as it should be.

(BUFFET OF NUGGETS)

Someone pour Odin a drink!

LOL @ Kris!

Wow I called something right for a change! LOL!

The refs already robbed the Lions of a touchdown. This game is a joke. Goodall is stroking Brees pecker.

ODIN,YOU HAVE TO BEHAPY THAT AFTER HURICANE KILLED A MILION PEOPLE LAST YEAR THAT THE SAINTS ADVANCE TO PLAY-OFFS.
(BUFFET OF KNOWLEDGE)

You guys have been watching the NFL long enough o KNOW....that you have to KNOCK-OUT the ELITE teams....

Pack
Steelers
Ravens
Saints

You will NOT win a decision (close game) against them....the refs won't allow it....

So quit ur bitchin....and hope the FINS build an NFL elite team in the near future.....

Aloco, What Year is it?

Integrity in sports is gone. Nothing means anything.

FAKE ALOCO AT 10:32.MUST BE CUBEN I GUESS THE GUARDS AT CLUB FED ALLOWS INTERNET AFTER 10 PM, OBAMA LAWS IN EFECT,
(BUFFET OF KNOWLEDGE)

You can watch a Saints lineman(if not two or three of them)holding on EVERY SINGLE SNAP OF THE BALL.

This crew will probably make the Super Bowl for their...........ah............"performance".

Another TD with two guys hold RIGHT ON THE POINT OF attack.

That's three that Collingsworth has pointed out.

The saint's are pretty good, but there is NO WAY they beat the Lions without Goodell's Ref's!

Just the FACTS!!!!

Here comes the dagger....

Let's see if the cats have 9 lives...

Was that "HOLDING".....

Just the questions....

Ah...guess the Lions have been turned into pussycats.....

Come on Kris, you know me better than that.

In all reality, I expected a saints win and I'm not even a Lions fans.

Even if I was, I wouldn't stoop to that level. C'mon Man ;)

Just for the record, this wasn't a close game. The refs even had to take a TD away from the Lions and embarrass themselves with their calls keeping almost every saints drive alive for them. I actually think it's kind of funny. How proud can the saints feel after this?

ROTFLMAO! I mean, the refs had to not just save their a sses, they had to win it for them ;)

They must make some kind of trick play here, otherwise, the Lions might never get the ball back.

Odin....

The ELITE get the calls......we cellar dwellers should know that by now....

When we do make the playoff.....if we want to make som noise....were gonna have to blow out our opponents.... Otherwise it will be the same thing.....

Amaya the guy we gave away makes the play.

They interviewed the guy tha looks most like Stephen Ross .

Man....

The saints are fearless.....but so are the Packers....

It will be a GREAT game......

This Saint offense reminds me of our Henne/Henning offense.

The lions coach is probably gonna want to start a fight.....

Because making sense is ot the Dolphin way, that's why. They'd rather interview mularkey.

LOL @ 11:04....

Funny stuff of the night....

Still laughing....

Ha ha ha! More proof.

The int by stafford. He took a blow to the head way worse than Spivey delivered on the non TD. The one that kept another saints drive alive. Stafford's blow to the head happened BEFORE the int as well(Another choke and puke by the crew).

So, just in the fourth quarter alone, the refs have a......I mean, the saints have a 14-0 swing.

Kris, I know you have to beat Goodells team solidly, but REALLY? Really?

You have to outplay the refs for ALL FOUR QUARTERS? REALLY-ROTFLMAO!

Back in the day you would have to beat champions soundly. But, they also let up and comers win once in awhile when deserved! This saints, in no way, shape or form, deserved this one. It is what it is, even COLLINGSWORTH concurs-LOL.

No wonder the WWE's SmackDown is closing the gap in being America's biggest sporting event draw. Smack Down is.........GULP..........sniff, sniff............MORE AUTHENTIC!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooooooooooooooow!!!!

That Detroit D is not Big League, and neither is their Coach.

Turn out the lights, the party is over!

Odin.....

Be glad the Saints WON.....and in blow-out fashion.....

Pray the go th the 49ers.....and rip them a new one too.....

Hope that the Ravens lose BAD next week......

Cause if one of these "run the ball and play defense" teams makes a run.....then the FINS will be doomed to that 90's philosophy for the next decade.......

I don't think Ross is gonna rotate coaches like a revolving door.....and these wins may be shaping how he wants to win going forward.....

Pray they go TOthe 49ers....

TO the

Wow, this is really unfair to the saints.

When they have to play the packers and they won't be allowed to hold on every single play. When their not having the refs carrying them, it's just not going to be fair.

They won't be used to having to actually beat their opponents. I feel sorry for em! The refs are going to whip dat a ss if dey make it past the Niners and have to go to Green Bay.

Poor Drew!

From this point FORWARD.....

PLEASE....NOBODY compare any of these unprove college kids to Drew Brees.....

It's just NOT fair.....

Not to the kid.....

And not to Brees......

Mangini, next Dolphins coach, Flynn next Dolphins QB, Daboll next hot coordinator, Nolan the next Dick Lebeau

..This is s joke. 466 plus passing yards?? And Stafford played really well himself..Next to Brees he is an after thought..Almost average. It is a joke. We have beaten this drum a million times. But after a game like this it is as clear as ever.. WE MUST FIND A QUARTERBACK..We have to.

We can put all the pieces in place at this point. We can Draft Blackmon, sign a Free saftey in Free agency, Get a tight end,a right tackle, another pass rusher, a genie in a bottle..whatever. Without a top of the line quarterback we will never sniff anything except early round playoff exits, and dissapointment.

Look at Detroit..A fine Roster. Great skill players.. They have a very good young QB..But if you aren't on the level of the Elite..tonight happens. The Lions, may continue to grow, they certainly have the pieces..A run game would help some. Anyway this isn't about Detroit. What are we going to do? Will we be sold another"We are in a rebuilding stage"? Or Matt Moore is the answer for now? These are just unacceptable excuses anymore. The coach is really second priority. Lomabardi could come walking through the door an wouldn't be able to win with the quarterback we have now..Nothing against Matt Moore..But ask yourself. Could he have won tonight..Even with the wish list above?

Brees is washed up.

I mean he's good, but not great.

He was mistaken for elite because of the refs, Goodell and Katrina THAT ONE YEAR.

The saints are really good, but compared to the few elite teams, they're PRETENDERS-PERIOD!

I know, I know, Brees broke the passing records.........thanks to Goodell, the refs, the competition comittee, etc, etc.

The saints going up against the packers is going to be like letting an over weight Foreman go up against Ali. Unless the "FIX" is is, it aint happening-LOL.

dolphins should talk to everyone possible

Brees...not elite.....

Time to put away the happy juice....

Your approaching alcohol poisoning levels.....

Winston Moss = Mike Singletary

Nothing against Matt Moore..But ask yourself. Could he have won tonight..Even with the wish list above?

Of course he could have. As long as the refs carried him like they do the "Pretender".

Just about any QB in the league looks twice as good when given ample time(whether the time is given by the refs(as in Brees' case or they have a GREAT line).

Brees would have sucked the big one had we signed him. The refs never let us get away with that kind of holding. They never let us get the interference calls.

APPROACHING?

Brother, you just don't even know...........

Kris @ 11:32,

ROTFLMAO!!!!

Falcons/Giants' game should be good tomorrow, don't know about the Steelers and Broncos.

LOL....odin

Redsky.....just watching Tebow lose his 4th straight will be Reason enough to watch...

Time to close these eyes......

Might be Tebow's last game Kris.

Goodnight all....

..Odin. I see you are disturbed by the refs this evening.. I had money on the Lions,(-10.5)watched the game with Detroit fans from Munising(your neck of the woods, they are here snowmobiling) and I didn't see the refs as the reason the game was won or lost. IMO there was the 3rd down that was a poor spot. The Lions coaches blew it on that one they should have challenged..There was another play that I missed where Brees fumbled that got blown..Other than that You can call holding on almost any play. Pass inerference is a rule that needs to be ammended to the college 15 yard penalty..The spot foul in the pros with the new rules make this way to advantageous for the offensive side.

Anyway..The guys from Michigan were cool as hell. 1 of the guys was a season ticket holder, and was genuinley psyched to see his squad in the post-season..The others also passionate die hard Lions fans(you don't meet many to often) None pointed any blame at the refs after the game.

Darryl,

I was just getting a buzz and messing around for the most part earlier. I enjoyed the game. I would have prefered the Lions won, I just love an under dog.

Anyways, the real reasons the lions lost are:

1. First and foremost, the missed tackles and not being able to get off the field on 3rd down.

2. Javid Best being injured and their OVERALL lack of a run game.

3. I'll give the officiating crew a no. 3. Regardless, EVERYTHING else aside, they did one of the more memorable piss poor jobs I've EVER witnessed in a playoff game.

I've been around for awhile and I've seen some bad games by the officiating crews. This one is a top ten all timer for playoff games. Absolutely inexcusable.

Having said that, I have coached quite a bit and I always told my kids: Good Teams overcome Bad Officiating. I believe that still holds true today at all levels of organized football.

The refs sucked big time, but I have to lay blame for this one on the Lions themselves.

On the bright side, For Lions Fans, they've come a long way in a short period of time. Getting rid of Millen and cleaning house was the best thing that ever happened to this franchise. I expect they'll be a pretty good tema, challenging for a playoff spot for the next 5 years.

Moss is not on offensive coordinator, that's why the Phins interviewed Philbin rather than Moss. But Moss , too would be better than Fisher or the old retreads.
