Doesn't look great but not over yet

I hate doing this but in today's up-to-the-second news cycle, I imagine you'll want to know:

I just asked a couple of Dolphins people in the know if they've been told by Jeff Fisher that he's going to the St. Louis Rams.

"No," both said.

So the Dolphins believe they're still in the game with Fisher at this minute. It can change in the coming hours and several league sources are saying it will. But not yet.

Now, I grant you, it looks grim for the Dolphins and even they recognize that. Even one of the men I communicated with said he expects Fisher to go to the Rams, although he'd love for him to come to Miami.

Yeah, that's not good. Fisher spent a day meeting with Rams owner Stan Kroenke in Denver. And he's spent the past couple of days at the Rams facility in St. Louis. He's reportedly met with quarterback Sam Bradford and talked to officials about a possible move back to Los Angeles.

All this feels, sounds, looks like Fisher is dotting his i and crossing his t before picking the Rams.

But it's not over until it's over.

NY "G".....

In case you didn't get the memmo....Ireland isn't going anywhere....

We will have to work in the frame work of what we have....and is part of that frame work.....

BTW...are you setting the stage to back off the Cowher talk.....

Rams are coming to L.A eventually that's why Fisher is going to the Rams! Good point Mando!

Everyone's rejecting the Fins. LOL

Verrry Interesting...

Irsay confirmed that there has been no talk about extending the early March deadline for Peyton Manning’s $28 million bonus.

But Irsay disputed reports that he plans to select quarterback Andrew Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 draft.

henna never gonna take a team to the big show. at best he's a serviceable qb..(see mark sanchez).

offense wins in todays football...the rules protect the offense big time..thats why pats, saints will play in the super bowl.

It ain't over til Rex Ryan sings...

LOL....Odin is still drunk....

Henne will start the season on someone's bench.....just like he should have been on our's to start the season.....

Maybe he will "haunt us" by holding the game snap on a when a Team kicks a FG to beat us...

they said jay gruden, not john gruden

Mularky, why waste the time, Yea he did have a great scheme today LOL..Thanks, St louis,we dont need Fisher either.. How bout Chip Kelly, we need some creativeness on Offense, But if you dont have a Franchise QB it dont matter who they hire !

lol so true kris

Besides Fisher, there is no one else with a proven record other than Marty. Cowher and Gruden been sitting on the couch for YEARS. They ain't in football coaching shape like Marty.

There is no other Harbaugh out that. Saban ain't coming back.

Maybe take a look at Wade but I'm thinking Ireland won't even sniff Wade because of the Dallas firing.

@Tampa Finfan for Life - Phins traded the 4th rounder in 2012 for Reggie Bush.

Now you know better then that to ask if I'm backing off the Cowher talk. lol

Also, I am NOT backing off that Ireland is going to be whacked by Peterson. Ross is getting a learning lesson on team ownership and as he watches prospects waddle away, they are mumbling under their breaths that it was because of Ireland.

How about bringing back Tony Sparano? LMAO

What a pathetic loser franchise this has become.

That last post was barely english...but you get the point....

Game winning FG...Henne Holding.... =Henne back up QB....

If they can't get Fisher then their only option is to go totally unconventional.

If you can't obtain the diamond then you obtain the diamond in the rough.

So if they can't get Fisher then they need to get a young guy with a different mentalitylity other than an old school hack.

Bring back Cam Cameron!

Irsay would be a fool not to take Luck with that pick. Peyton can't play forever.

Fisher good coach, but for Miami. He wants to run a 4-3 defense, our defense is fine except a pass rusher and a free safety. We need Chud here. Let him call his own plays. We need an offense that can score points. Get an right tackle with the first pick.

Thanks, Ian.

Don't think that bringing back fist pump isn't 100% out of the question.

Ireland is desperate to keep out ANY and ALL prospects that want their own GM which is why Ireland is in self preservation mode.

Sparano according to Ireland is his good friend and he can get Ross drunk and talk him into it. lol

Oh, I am now going on record that Dolphin owner Ross will be looking to dump the team as he dosent like all this and will sell.

NY "G"....

Just Checking.....

Lets draft another lineman! LOL

How can you possibly sell Mike Mularkey to the fans? There would be so much backlash and negativity towards the hire, they would end up un-hiring him lol...

That interview should be cancelled.

He's already worked for the Dolphins as on Offensive Coordinator and our team sucked. The Falcons offense isn't that impressive.

The only reason Irsay would not take Luck is....

I can't think of a logical reason. Indy is a year or two from rebuilding anyways. Why not start right this minute?

Peyton can't play forever. I believe the whole team shut down because Peyton scammed them. Dude knew his neck was jacked up then signed a HUGE deal. That would piss me off if I was on that team.

Colts announced they're drafting Luck. No surprise.

I havent heard from those that was pissing all over me last night when i told them that the Saints would blow out the Lions.

I came close on MY final score below.

Saints 41
Lions 17

Maybe he will "haunt us" by holding the game snap on a when a Team kicks a FG to beat us...

So with your rebuttal, you, by DEFAULT, are advocating Parcells(Bhwaa), Ireland(bhwaa Haa), Henning(bhwaa haa haa)and SpOrano......Bhwaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Yeah, I'm SURE Matty Ice would've taken us to the Super Bowl running the.........wait for it...........wait..........**THE WILD CAT**!

Bhwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Save it my man, when it's as plain as the nose on your face and you STILL can't see it!

PS: Just for the RECORD, I am NOT drunk...............YET ;)

Maybe he will "haunt us" by holding the game snap on a when a Team kicks a FG to beat us...

I do have to admit: GOOD ONE!

I'm done...35yrs later, I tired of this s**t; The glory days of the 70's and late 80's are but a memory. The people being mentioned as fallback options are jokes. We lost out to St. Louis. How embarrassing. 4 years from now, the loser hired next week will be fired and a new search will start over. A 'new' direction will begin...agin. I think it is time to get off the train.

PITT - 31

He is a real nfl head coach...he built a great viking offense and is smart enough that many nfl coaches developed under him.

Ross has to stick to the real estate and allow Billick to build the dolphins...he is by FAR THE BEST OPTION OUT THERE

Ross.....pay Billick and stay in NY and watch your real estate

I'm OUT.. Ready for kick off..

Mularkey looks very ready for the dolphins job!!!

So let me understand, they fired Sporano 3 weeks before the season ended so they could have time to put a plan and a strategy together for hiring the next coach and this is what they come up with?
Make Fisher an offer and hope he accepts? That's it?
Hahaha! That's pathetic. I had a better plan at 18 when I asked the cheerleader to the prom

I havent heard from those that was pissing all over me last night when i told them that the Saints would blow out the Lions.

my final score pitt 23-0

denver is easily the worst nfl team ive ever seen in the playoffs. tebow is so bad its painful to watch

Maybe he will "haunt us" by holding the game snap on a when a Team kicks a FG to beat us...

Posted by: kris | January 08, 2012 at 04:22 PM

NO SHYT! And you called ME drunk-LOL!

I GOT IT! I have the ANSWER to our Head Coaching "Problems"!

All we have to do is hire the offensive minded wizard David Lee!

He can bring Hennings back(from the Dead)and re-invent the Wild Cat 2.0!

Ireland will LOVE THAT(job security)!

David Lee! David Lee! David Lee! David Lee!

Did you see the way Tomlin Fist Pumped that Field Goal?

That's "Swagger" I tell ya!

Steelers play prevent D in the 4th Quarter....giving up meaningless TD.....

Media says if only Tebow had 2 fourth quarters he would have led the Bronco's back....

odin is in his dckhead babble mood tonight. polluting the blog.

not sure tebow could even score vs pitt prevent

Fvck Fisher if he wants to get Rammed!

The only reason I liked the idea originally is because it seemed like the lesser of two evils.

I will always have fond memories of Fisher getting punked like a little be-atch!

Buddy Ryan jacked his a ss right in his Pornstache!

Awesome moment in NFL histoery!

Denver is clearly in worse shape than Miami....

and they will be held hostage by Tebow (media hype)....if this game is close....

Elway should be praying for a Blow-out.....so they can cut Tebow.....

MOOD? I'm just being MYSELF!

PS: Was Pitt stacking the box? (Snicker, snicker)!

odin it wasnt fisher

PFT reporting a possible hang up in fisher to rams being the stadium lease is up in 2014 and the team possibly could move to LA.

This could get amusing, just stay far away from mularkey please what a wonderful offense those Falcons displayed and Matty Ice ELITE?? Yeah I don't know about all that hype.

Jay Gruden, Chudzinski, Mike Shula, let's interview somebody that has shown they can develop young players. If Mularkey is chosen the dolphins can plan on losing the next five years regardless who the qb is.

odin it wasnt fisher
Posted by: dusty bottoms | January 08, 2012 at 04:56 PM

What wasn't Fisher?

If you mean who Ryan Jacked, yeah it was.

Mando, cheer up dude, this is great news. Fisher is a .500 coach and is not good fit for the Dolphins, I dont care who wants him here. Ross wants an exciting offense,,,it aint Fisher. Anyhow, I like Philpin to get the job and not Marlarkey. Marlarkey did the Buffalo thing and didnt win a game of importance. We need new blood not a retread like Fisher, let the Rams deal with him. Fisher wont work in St Louis either. Who would rather coach in St Louis compared to So Beach. What a dweeb.

Rams... here I come !!!

Fisher wants a cost of living raise if and when the Rams move to L.A. Fisher is not for the Dolphins, he will take the money for three years and walk. Leaving the franchise with more dysfunction just like Johnson, Saban and Parcells did.

Since we have no 4th round pick we are losing more FA's then we have draft picks to replace them.
That means at least 1 undrafted rookie will be starting for us next season.
And no one wants to come here or stay here?
