Fisher expected to decide which team he'll coach today

I believe today will be a franchise defining day.

Jeff Fisher, who has been weighing whether to take the head coach job in Miami or St. Louis, is expected to make a decision which team, if either, he would like to work for in 2012. Let me be more clear: I am not reporting Fisher will be named coach of either team today.

I am reporting that, according to one source that thus far has been spot on, the coach is finalizing his choice of teams today. Following that decision, I am supposing here, Fisher will tell his agent which direction he's going and negotiations will get going on a contract and various other details.

I do not know what Fisher's decision will be. But it's obvious that whatever he decides will define the direction of both the Dolphins and Rams for years to come.

The winning team will be regarded to be hiring the hotest, most experienced coach on the market. That team will get a head coach who is going to piece together a star-studded coaching staff. That team's credibility will get an instant boost without even one game under the new coach being played.

The team that loses the Fisher sweepstakes will be regarded as having to hire a secondary choice. That team will be rightly seen as having lost out. That team will have to answer to its fan base questions such as, "What is it about you that was deemed to be lacking in this derby.'

It's entirely possible the team not getting Fisher gets a coach that some day in the future does better work than Fisher. But that won't be the narrative now. The narrative now will be that the losing team, well, lost out.

So how do I know Fisher is scheduled to choose today. Well, since the start of this entire saga I've gotten half a dozen e-mails from people claiming to be close to Fisher or his family or his closest friends. One of these people has provided rock-solid information. And that person tells me today is the day he was told Fisher is making his call.

We'll see what happens. I'd expect something to leak before the end of the day is over and definitely by tomorrow as to where Jeff Fisher is going.

It doesn't have anything to do with luring Cowher out of retirement. Cowher has publicly stated that he will not coach for ANYONE this season! He has ZERO interest in coaching at this point. Why the hell would you want a coach that has zero interest in doing the job?

It has nothing to do with $$$$. If he would take it, Ross would gladly hand it over.

My sources tell me that Ireland will be gone before Feb 1.

a week

man you got too much time on your hands.

BWAHAAA HAAAAA HAAAA

YG, I'm with you buddy. Instead of working, I'm tracking Fisher with excitement as well. I just hope we don't end with another heartbreak.

Ohio, Wig Out?? Is this considered wigging out?

HAHHSHAHHSHHHHHAHAHHA F this !!! BWHAHAHHAHAH GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies and Gentleman I just wiged out?

Odin,

I AGREE, ANYONE THINKING SEAN SMITH IS A NICKEL CORNER, ARE NUTS!

AS A STARTER, ITS FS OR BUST. I WOULD BRING HIM IN ON DIME SITUATIONS AGAINST TE'S.

SEAN SMITH IS A PLAIN AVERAGE STARTING CORNER, A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN PLAYING NICKEL, JURY'S OUT ON PLAYING FS, AND COULD BE A HECK OF A "DIME" DB AGAINST TE'S.

TRADE the entire house, farm pigs, sluts for Andrew Luck. If we cant accomplish THAT, trade and make sure we get WR Blackmon.

NY G, if we give up a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd to get either of those guys, how picks would we have spent?

Bhwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

(don't answer "G", i just posted this because the le peu troll is still going on about how wrong he was)

Ah ONE.........Ah TWO..........Ah Thuh-Reeee!!!!

If Fisher accepts I will get on my knees and do the deed for him if he promises to fire Ireland. With pleasure!

Not cheapskate Ross. Cowher will be coaching next year for a real team.

If they get rid of Ireland, I will even give a kissy to Sissy Krissy!

If we don't land Fisher it wont be the end of the world. Todd Bowles I thought did an effective job as a HC in the brief time he was a interim coach. His demeanor was calm, made some good calls. Just sayin'

LOL At Aloco, Now thats funny.

Dying Breed, I didnt spell it "Dying Breed" its "DyingBreed" stupid. LOL

Here is the pecking order Fisher, Zimmer, Bowles

ALoco @ 4:51 PM, that was pretty damn funny! LOL

If we dont get Fisher, dont be surprised if Mangini becomes our next hc.

Apparently NFL Network is saying Fisher is close to signing with the Fins....

LOL.........................................................

Mangini no way. They won't hire another I-taliano coach after meatball Sparano.

Irsay introduces new G.M. Grigson says decision on Caldwell is coming.

Colts owner Jim Irsay introduced Manager Ryan Grigson at a press conference new General today, and he said he expects the two of them to get to work quickly on assessing whether head coach Jim Caldwell will remain in place.

Yesterday's Gone:

I enjoyed our sauna together. It was wonderful feeling your sweaty, naked body pressed against mine.

ALoco @ 4:51,

Just for the record, I have all my own teeth. Well, all of them except the one the Detroit Police kicked out of my head.

Anywhoo, you left out the Rum and BourbAn supply!

Serious question here: with Schotty out of the Jets, would you get him over Daboll? I don't know anything about him because I refuse to follow anything relating to that team. Only thing I heard was he's an upcoming star. But then again so was Mangini and Garrett. But is he any better than Daboll?

oh looks like you need to waterboard your kid odin, he didn't put that sentence together properly.

ESPN saying Sanchez is at the center of a lot of dissension at the jets! Gee what a surprise!!! Bwaaaaa Haaaaaa!

Not only do I want to see Ireland WHACKED tonight I HOPE that the new HC FIRES ALL the Sparano leftovers which means DABOLL. HE SUCKS... Just ask his old team how much he sucks.

Heh, heh, heh!!!!

ALoco: Good One!

78: Not so much ;)

Luck could make statement on agent choice soon.

Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, who widely is expected to sacrifice one final year of eligibility and enter the draft, has been the subject of considerable rumor, speculation, and at least one false report regarding his choice of an agent.

The focus on Luck has happened good reason. If Luck chooses CAA, which also represents Peyton Manning, it will suggest the existence of a plan of some sort between the two quarterbacks.

Mullen also points out that Ben Dogra of CAA is expected to land Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, which likely would take CAA out of the running for Andrew Luck, anyway.

Armando,

Get us an update blog.

The Trolls have taken this over.

Get on the Ball!

odinseye,

Armando is always on the balls...

Would everybody cool it about the NFL Network say Fisher has already picked out his parking spot at Dolphin headquarters. The same article has been sitting there for 4 hours. I keep refreshing it, and I see nothing new.
"Sources" and rumors.
Please relax the "news" flashes until there actually is one.
Holy moly.

***NEWS FLASH***

JS in LA Tells All to Relax

Clue, ok, I'm gonna try and explain this like I do to my 12 year old niece. Follow along:

RG3 has the mobility of a Mike Vick or at least an Aaron Rodgers. QBs like that don't NEED ProBowl linemen to protect them. RG3 has the added talent of being MACHINE-LIKE in his accuracy on the run.

So, like Ohio (or someone else said) you grab a FA, get a guy later in the Draft, or try Jerry out at RT. He was a TERRIFIC stand-in at LT these last few games.

What you DON'T do, is waste ANOTHER valuable pick on someone who, by the very definition of his position, CAN'T be a playmaker.

Trust me when I tell you this, your way will get us right to 7-9, and no further. Proof is the last 3 years. My way gets you consecutive division titles, Playoff appearances, and sex in the Champagne Room.

Jeff Fisher is “legitimately torn”

January 11, 2012, 4:58 PM EST

AP
The latest Jeff Fisher update is that there is no update.

But we’ve noticed a torrent of third-hand speculation and some incorrect reports on Twitter Wednesday that he was joining the Dolphins, so we wanted to address the issue.

“Those close to Fisher said he’s legitimately torn and going back and forth. He’s swung from Rams back toward Fins then back again and now back,” Glazer writes.

Apparently Fisher is the new Favre. If he does this for another three months. (Perhaps he’s waiting to see what happens in Indianapolis?)

“Fins thought they were out of it this weekend. Rams thought he was coming there. He went to visit Rams, things changed,” Glazer wrote.

If we are reading Glazer correctly, that could mean Fisher is leaning towards Miami. That’s what an NFL.com report indicated earlier Wednesday. SI.com wrote something similar. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald says a “highly placed” Dolphins source doesn’t know what Fisher will do.

Fisher hasn’t made up his mind. He has a lot of friends in the media. When he decides, we’re sure to find out quickly.

If Fisher says no, I'd love to have Brian Schottenheimer as HC.

Odinseye is exactly just the kind of guy you would wanna hangout and party with(Minus the Detroit Police issues).

But, and "Im warning you", he'll throw you under the bus when it comes to competition for picking up chicks. Dont expect anything less than all is fair in love and war when it comes to picking up "hotties".

Right Odin? LOL

Where did that latest flash come from NYG?

NYG - We all can read the other sites. We don't need you to post every PFT update that comes out. Most of us see them too.

SAT Night around 10:45pm.. Look for at least a few suspect Flags to be thrown in favor of Denver.

The NFL is making millions with the kid so the marching orders will be delivered to the Officials to do what they can to help them defeat the Pats.

Projected an extra $500M in the NFL kitty with a Tebow Superbowl.

Why aren't they trying harder to coax Cowher out of retirement?

Posted by: Sean | January 11, 2012 at 04:44 PM

Great question. They're probably too stupid or too cheap. Cowher would never put up with Ireland scum.

THAT's IT!!!!

I apologize Kris! Fishwer is a Fvcking Prima Donna Drama Queen. The Fvcking PussBag!

Jeff Fisher is “legitimately torn”

AP The latest Jeff Fisher update is that there is no update.

But we’ve noticed a torrent of third-hand speculation and some incorrect reports on Twitter Wednesday that he was joining the Dolphins, so we wanted to address the issue.

Jay Glazer of FOX gives us the excuse to dive in.

NYG, thanks, I thought that might be the case re: Fisher....

If Fisher does not come to Miami its because Ireland said something about his mom.

Trade whatever picks are necessary to land Luck or RGIII. Likely RGIII since the Colts are clearly set on Luck.

Seriously, picks are VERY overrated. Look at home many Miami draft picks frm the last 4 years are still with the team and performing at a high level...or any level.

Why not trade a bunch for what should be a "sure" thing?

We seem to have better luck with undrafted rookies than the drafted ones which are sold to management by a team of "experts"

Sorry, draft picks are overrated.

(Although the Raiders screwed everyone after dumping 2 1st rounders for that bum Palmer)

HELL NO to Brian Schottenheimer as HC

HELL YES to MARTY Shot as HC but it aint going to happen.

If Fisher does not come to Miami its because Ireland said something about his mom.

ROFLMAO

Odin, I'm starting to think the same way re Fisher.....maybe he is waiting for the Colts.

PFT says Fisher King s torn.

NYG ready to back off on Bill Cowher coaching the fins in 2012?

Perhaps Ross will sweeten the pot by offering a few boxes of Cubans.

Cant have anyone with "SHOTT" anywhere in thier name as our new hc.

SHott vs SHot would confuse hell out of Odinseye. Our hc would come up missing one day because Odinseye was on one helluva drunk.

Oscar,

With the drama Queen Fisher, it ain't over until it's officially announced Ya or Nay.

If it happens I will come here and take my beating like I said. :)

Perhaps Ireland will sweeten the pot by offering a few hooka moms...

DC @ 5:19,

While I have to say, you did explain that as if you were talking to a Pre Teen.

Heck, even I understood it.

I think you correct........MOSTLY.

No O-Lineman in the first or even 2nd round(barring an incredible slide).

If we can't get the QB in the first, get a LB, CB, Safety or WR.

I think Jerry will surprise most an finally be an OUTSTANDING RIGHT Tackle next year.

We can find a guard somewhere to plug in. Keep Carey MAYBE for depth!
-----------------------------------------------

Side Note: The latest article I read on Fisher makes all these rumors amount to nill. It sounds to me like he no closer to a decision than he was two days ago.

I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like one false report today spurned all kinds internet rumors.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!
