Fisher expected to decide which team he'll coach today

I believe today will be a franchise defining day.

Jeff Fisher, who has been weighing whether to take the head coach job in Miami or St. Louis, is expected to make a decision which team, if either, he would like to work for in 2012. Let me be more clear: I am not reporting Fisher will be named coach of either team today.

I am reporting that, according to one source that thus far has been spot on, the coach is finalizing his choice of teams today. Following that decision, I am supposing here, Fisher will tell his agent which direction he's going and negotiations will get going on a contract and various other details.

I do not know what Fisher's decision will be. But it's obvious that whatever he decides will define the direction of both the Dolphins and Rams for years to come.

The winning team will be regarded to be hiring the hotest, most experienced coach on the market. That team will get a head coach who is going to piece together a star-studded coaching staff. That team's credibility will get an instant boost without even one game under the new coach being played.

The team that loses the Fisher sweepstakes will be regarded as having to hire a secondary choice. That team will be rightly seen as having lost out. That team will have to answer to its fan base questions such as, "What is it about you that was deemed to be lacking in this derby.'

It's entirely possible the team not getting Fisher gets a coach that some day in the future does better work than Fisher. But that won't be the narrative now. The narrative now will be that the losing team, well, lost out.

So how do I know Fisher is scheduled to choose today. Well, since the start of this entire saga I've gotten half a dozen e-mails from people claiming to be close to Fisher or his family or his closest friends. One of these people has provided rock-solid information. And that person tells me today is the day he was told Fisher is making his call.

We'll see what happens. I'd expect something to leak before the end of the day is over and definitely by tomorrow as to where Jeff Fisher is going.

Moore is less, What can I Say other then your name says it all, Fp4fgs, It's your type that makes some women become Lesbians. And as far as your post at 8:16 is concerned thats why I find Jeff Ireland a Idiot, Though I find his boss(The Owner) Even a bigger idiot. You All have a good night.

Well, he is right on Moore. Pennington threw for 341, week 12, 2008.

Who else?
While they were on the Phins?
Brien Griese did it a lot for Denver, TB & Chi but not us.
Garcia never did it for us.
Penny never. Moore never. Lemon never. Beck never.
Bob Griese never.
Who? Let's look it up.

Don Strock threw for 300+ in a game. See, the epic San Diego playoff game, early 80's.

Dear Mr. Quasi Moto

" I wonder if Ross is going to convince Ron Jeremy to buy a minority share of the team. Any thoughts? "

I hope so.

I almost have a complete Ron Jeremy disguise... I have the Hair, nose and Pot belly ....I just need another 8 inches and it will be complete.

Soiled :)

I believe John Beck "threw up" in his mouth 300 times in a game. Does that count?

many qbs have rick, even scott mitchell did

Agree Dusty, Don Strock,Bob Griese,David Woodley,Earl Morrel, Come to mind, Also notice how Price master And Moore for less say "COLUMBUS"?, Guys Its spelled "COLUMBO", They must be the same guy.Again goodnight guys.

Soiled:

I gotta get me a Ron Jeremy disguise. LOL. classic.

Ron can teach Ross how to smoke his own pole. Or maybe the other way around?

even gus frerotte did

Frerotte, 360, wk 10, 2005.

even joey harrington did!

One more thing,Thank you Dusty and fellow posters , now I know how that guy Odin Felt dealing with Idiots, Again Good night Fellows.

Stop citing the cast of castoffs who have quarterbacked this team since Marino. I'm getting queezy.

By the way, Candy, don't you dance at a strip club in Miami beach, or do I have you confused with another Candy?

PriceMaster = Moore is Less?

Quasi, I Danced at Stir Crazy a year ago, Now Ianm Out.

Fiedler, wk 15, 2001, wk 4 2002, Wk 17, 2003.

Ok, I'll stop. :)

Watching one of my teams be good! Go 'Cuse!

Candy, I thought I recognized you. How they hangin?

The Other Rick:

Thank you. I threw up in my mouth about six times already.

So who will be our QB under Fisher? I am betting it will not be vince Young, who by the way is a free agent I believe. What if "teen wolf" brings him in to create competition. Now that would be hilarious.

Other rick:

Syracuse rules!

I really don't know but if Fisher comes in, I see an open competition with Moore and a FA, don't laugh, but maybe even someone like Kyle Orton. Maybe reaching for a QB in the 1st, but maybe waiting for a later, 2nd tier guy. I don't see Henne getting resigned. The games don't lie, in crunch time and in the redzone, he couldn't get it done.

Oh, ohhh.. I just read that Branden Marshall and Cutler have been tweeting each other. Branden tweeted that they should get together in the Windy City as a duo.

Sounds like Branden is going to have some splaining to do (yeah.. to who we are coachless) Perhaps he wants out of Miami?. Unknown.

They give the rookie a year to learn and depending on development, give him a shot at the job in year two. Again, though, I have been impressed with Moore. His career trend shows more good now than bad.

This just in:

Dolphins announce new coach. Stating that they can't find a single coach who is excited about their personnel and the skill sets the team possesses, the team announced they firmly believe in the players they have drafted and therefore Jeff will be their coach. Jeff Ireland, not Jeff Fisher.

Ireland says they have resigned Henne and have gotten permission to speak to the Dallas Cowboys to interview several of their up and coming assistants to take over the coordinator and qb coach duties.

The Fisher to Miami rumors might be his way of getting more $$$ from the Rams...

Bowles should be the coach

Mike Mularkey: "Jacksonville is close to winning consistently"...LOL!! Yeah, whatever dude.

Marty Schottenheimer should be the next coach.
Bowles should be the assistant.

Hell, I bet Marty could fly the helicopter in himself.

If Fisher's new HC, I highly doubt he ushers in a 4-3 defense right away. Dont see him dumping dumping Nolan or DaBoll right away neither.

Think about it, our primary trouble wasnt oc or dc last season, there were personnel issues on both sides of the ball.

On defense, pass tush without blitzing and coverage issues. On offense, qb consistency and a legit redzone threat. Columbo was ahuge red flag in pass protect too.

Anyone thinking we had a coordinator issue on either side of the ball, you're blind or havent a clue of what you saw on the field.

"If" fisher is the coach he should do what he wants, getting rid of all the coaches is his call. If you have never been in that position than u dont understand ( yes I am in the corporate world may not be millions but we deal with laying off people) u got to go with your gut not the past. Its hard but its the real world.

yg db, get laid and maybe you won't be so eager to show up and attack people.

No but seriously, what the hell is taking so long?? Mr.Ross, give Fisher a call and tell him to go to screw himself...Who does he think he is???

YG your a dope, its the old way, time for new. If they were so Great they would be the next coach. I assume you have been a high level Manager. If not stfu.

yg db fool has obvious hostility.

Fisher need to have his decision in by tomorrow. The longer it takes to make up our minds about a thing, the more difficult it becomes.

When we finally do make it up, it's usually the wrong choice. There's an old saying, "study too long and you'll usually study wrong".

Fisher takes until Friday, almost inevitably he'll chose the Rams(studies wrong). Fisher chooses tomorrow(Thursday) and there's a really great chance he may chose the Fins.

Great reporting Armando!!! How about an update?????

Move on after 12 pm Thursday, dont play a game with him.

I expect Fisher to make his decision by tomorrow. His choice is already narrowed to two and he's already had up until Weds to weigh all possible pros and cons.

All the works been done, he just has to choose. Dragging any further just makes the Rams, Dolphins, and himself anguish longer than need be.

Batter up! Next coach step up, we need you to hit the ball out of the park!

Ross

Show some balls. Pull the offer. Move on. Fisher is not Shula, Walsh, Noll.

I kind of understand with Fisher. Miami's the better short term win now choice. But he's gotta be sh-tting bricks knowing he also has a chance to get RGIII(2nd overall).

The chance at RGIII maybe the primary factor making it so difficult to say no to the Rams.

amen. If its just figuring out the fine print.. OK.. if not get out now, step up and say we have hired X. Pull the trigger.

If Fisher says yes to the Rams, almost inevitably they'll be taking RGIII and dealing Bradford.

Remember, Fisher didnt draft Bradford, so he isnt joined to the hip with him in any fashion.

This has been poorly handled. If Fisher now chooses the Rams, we come off looking like real losers. The Dolphins should have given him a drop-dead date and then hired someone else. At the point, Fisher would look like the guy begging for a job, and the Dolphins would look decisive. "I will choose between the Dolphins and Rams." Uh, no you won't, we chose someone else. Have a good day. It would be even better if the Rams also selected someone else. It would do Fisher good to hope he could find a place to coach and had to settle for $5 million a year. Instead, the Dolphins have been bent over for a week and waiting to see if they get screwed or not.

Fisher=Drama queen! Loser, fuggedaboutdit!!!

This courting is getting lame.Fisher isn't worthy.Never really has been. We're just
D E S P E R A T E.

Great thing about Fisher saying yes to the Dolphins is. We can actually do a deal with the Rams for Bradford, if fesible.

Bradford could actually sit for a year under Moore or they can duke it out for the starter job in 2012-13. Either way, The Dolphins are a better situation for Bradford, at least here he'll have Jake Long protect his blind side.

Also it would free us up to select another offensive weapon like Justin Blackmon for him. Bradford to the Dolphins would make so much sense in a lot of ways.

Ty, Fisher's balls have been removed! How many days do you need? Stop playing games!

We should just start sabotaging the 2012 season now for a shot a Barkley or Landry.Bring a Cam Cameron onboard.Do a Hue Jackson on some assistant like Bowles.Let's make him the sacrificial lamb. The Bill Parcels remnants must be purified. If Sparano wasn't deservingly allowed the walk to gallows. Than Bowles should suffice. He is after all a Parcels cronie!

Sam Bradford and Justin Blackmon??
Ain't gonna happen.
Bradford isn't worth a damn.
Blackmon will be gone at pick # 8 or 9 (coin flip).

Uh...say no to Landry Jones the spread offense man.

Barkley?...we'll see what another year does for him.

Fisher is a good coach.

But he's no Marty Schottenheimer.

If they want to keep the coaching staff together. To me Marty makes more fits what the team needs better.

He saw first hand how the Eli trade was worth it. What Miami should do for Luck.

This hasnt been poorly handled. You gotta understand Fisher has a shot at getting RGIII and at least an extra 1st and 2nd rd pick for Bradford. They're called "building blocks".

Dolfans are looking at it from a very narrow perspective. If Fisher doesnt make his decision Thursday, then we may begin treking upon the "poorly handled" waters.

We're talking RGIII people. That's what has Fisher wavering. Fisher would already be our new hc if the Rams were picking far enough back to miss out on RGIII.

Whether the Rams keep Bradford or draft RGIII, they still need a LT. They drafted LT Jason Smith 2nd overall in 2009, he has been a bust. So if they decide to keep Bradford, thier 2nd overall pick in 2012 has to be USC LT Matt Kalil.

If they draft RGIII, they gotta deal Bradford, and still wont be able to get a 1st rd LT until 2013. Because a 1st rd pick they get for dealing Bradford cant be used until the 2013 draft. You cant trade a player for picks until after the draft.

permission to speak Admiral Stonemason?
Why post this? Though humorous yet juvenile.
Maybe your at the wrong website sir.

Who pays for Marty's geriatric nursing contingent?

I can see him pacing the sidelines in a wheelchair and calling the players "Young Whippersnappers!"

Hey oscar canosa.Your brother JIM got a hold of your pc.He's been posting things here.Hysterical lil' fellow.

JIM SAY HELLO TO ALOCO FOR ME.
THANKS.

yg you have no freakin idea what fisher thinks about rg3 or ANYTHING. give it a rest, blowhard.
