Jeff Fisher: Decision next week

Jeff Fisher is done with his initial meetings with the Dolphins and St. Louis Rams and he will decide between the two next week, according to ESPN.

Fisher apparently said idependently or told the network he won't decide between the two teams until next week, which suggests he'll take the weekend to think things through. He also said the decision is, as has been reported here, between Miami and St. Louis exclusively.

Both teams are hopeful of landing Fisher.

Why?

Simple: Both know he can do the job. Fisher has been a successful NFL head coach.

But both teams are continuing with their coach search. The Dolphins today are hosting Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin. The Rams are similarly continuing with their interview process. But everyone both teams are interviewing that is not named Fisher pretty much comes with this warning:

None have any NFL head coach experience. So in that regard, the teams are hoping these candidates can be head coaches.

See the difference?

Fisher is known to be able to do the job. The other candidates, the teams hope they can do the job.

I would have no issue with keeping Todd B. I would give this guy a chance. If Fisher says no, which I'm sure he will, why not?

Can we at least bring in Eric Mangini for a cup of coffee?

I still think this guy has a lot to offer.

Just read on nfl.com that Fisher will most likely sign with St Louis and take Lake Dawson from the Tenn FO with him. And the writer said that Greg Williams could end up there as DC as he is from Missouri and both were on the Oiler staff together. Looks like ballboy comes through again, and will get the puppet he needs so he has someone else to blame for the incompetance of this franchise.

CraigM,

You really are a nuisance. I don't make up anything and read far more than this blog. How about this. I don't need to prove a thing. You keep your head buried and stay in the dark until everyone else knows and then you can say "wow, he already told us that."

News in case you hadn't heard it. The Earth isn't flat. Do you need me to post a source for that as well. Nah. Just pretend I am making it up to serve my purpose.

Well, if you all don´t like what Dolphins front office is doing here, then go and pick a different team. You all talk as if you were better coaches than the people that have gone through the process.

Just to show CraigM spouts off with no basis and engages in fallacious arguments.

The Rams will have requested and received permission to interview Dawson and Webster from the Titans.

You got anything else to say CraigM? I can hit you with facts and sources all day.

You don't need to like what the front office is doing to be a Dolfan. Sheep stay quiet. Those who care debate and voice their opinions... even if we disagree with each other. Improving the front office doesn't require we are always right, nor is the front office damaged because some on here are always wrong.

Bottom line: the fans pay for the front office and keep them employed. We pay for the players that play here and the coaches that coach here. We can say whatever we like.

Well we know we can have 8&8 to 9&7 seasons with no hope of being a champion or steady contendor with Fisher until the Pats loose thier QB & Coach if not both. What has he done so great, at best he is Jimmy Johnson look where that got us : (

Hardcore,

It's amazing right? We even miss out on the good canes with second chances! We need a tackle and get Columbo and pass on Mckinnie, we need a tight end and we pass on both Olsen and Shockey, we need safety help and don't get Merriweather.
