The Miami Dolphins today named Blue Adams as assistant defensive backs coach, Charlie Bullen as defensive assistant, Ben Johnson as offensive assistant, Chris Mosley as assistant offensive line coach and also retained running backs coach Jeff Nixon, thus completing coach Joe Philbin’s staff for the upcoming season.
None of the new hires today were coaching in the NFL last year and only Mosely has experience coaching in the NFL at all. My favorite of today's new hires? Adams, of course. He graduated from Miami High in 1997. I graduated from Miami High in 1980.
Seriously, a quick glance at the Dolphins entire coaching staff suggests very little NFL experience is on staff. Eleven of the coaches are NFL rookie coaches in the jobs they are currently charged with doing with the Dolphins, including Philbin, who is a first-time NFL head coach.
Miami Dolphins 2012 Coaching Staff
Joe Philbin Head Coach
Blue Adams Assistant Defensive Backs
Lou Anarumo Defensive Backs
Charlie Bullen Defensive Assistant
Dan Campbell Tight Ends
David Corrao Defensive Quality Control/Assistant Linebackers

Darren Krein Head Strength and Conditioning

Chris Mosley Assistant Offensive Line
Jeff Nixon Running Backs
Ken O'Keefe Wide Receivers
Dave Puloka Assistant Strength and Conditioning

Not exactly what I'd call awe inspiring.

I've been talking about this for the past 3 days Mando.
Glad you finally picked up on it.

The last blog took a hard left turn.........after 14 pages(ahem).
Anyway, at the risk of upsetting a certain someone, I just had to repost this(it sounds eerily similar to our popular little friend):

I'm concerned they didn't retain Tony Sparano Jr. They will regret that.
Posted by: oswald | February 10, 2012 at 09:30 PM
Shocker, Armando and his lemmings find something to complain about. Miami's last staff was very experienced, that experience resulted in the 3rd losing season in a row, most in fins history.
Posted by: Miles | February 10, 2012 at 09:33 PM
Not one of these college coaches is from a Top 20 Div I team.
WTF?
This is the best they could do?
This is the all-star coaching staff that Mando promised us 3 months ago.
What happened to the top tier coaches and free agents pounding on the door to get in here?
Mando how does your source inside the Phins explain this?
Posted by: TheSMF | February 10, 2012 at 09:35 PM
TheSMF,
My source on the Dolphins is on a 10 minute break right now.
He is allowed to use his cell phone on his meal break I will ask him to explain.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | February 10, 2012 at 09:36 PM
Thanks Mando.
BTW does your source on the Phins speak english as a first langusge?
Posted by: TheSMF | February 10, 2012 at 09:38 PM
Armando,
When his break is over, ask him if they watched "The Tape" on Tony SpOrano Jr.
I'm afraid Oswald is right! They will regret THIS!

Who?? Whaaaa?? I've never heard of these small Div-2 Coaches. SMF called it right and yes you've been harping it for a few days now! I mean who the HELL is Blue Adams and believe me with that original name I would have remembered.
I will actually NEED to google this cast of characters in order to find out the 1st thing about them. I thought I knew about potential NFL Coaches but am stumped with this group!

Never going to happen without an Al Davis style Law suit Vs. the League, plus the Chargers are as good as there already in the 1.8 Billion Dollar State of the Art Stadium going up in L.A.

ALoco,
Your missing your own point about the Major League movie. This Blue Adams guy is probably getting like $20,000 a Yr. and so on with this Coaching staff. I believe it's also been worked into there contracts that they have to clean up the Davie facility. No more custodians, they will cook and clean the Eating area as well as player rooms during Training Camp slashing alot of payroll for Mr. Construction Ross.

Posted by: CHEAP FISH | February 10, 2012 at 10:25 PM
Ross nees to stop charging admission to watch this trainwreck.
Posted by: MJ | February 10, 2012 at 10:28 PM
Experience is over-rated sometimes, especially for assistant coaches. Joe Philbin was a coach for maybe the best run football team in the NFL. His OC has had multiple head coaching gigs, and his DC worked under one of the better Defensive coordinators in the NFL. It's not that bad people.
As far as the other assistants, hey you gotta get your start somewhere. They will def. be motivated and work hard to stick in the NFL and move up the ladder.
I have no qualms with the staff as assembled.
Posted by: Jon | February 10, 2012 at 10:28 PM
I'd rather have an inexperienced coaching staff and see what happens than to continue to watch a grown man jump up and down like 7 year old on Christmas morning over a meaningless first quarter field goal that's for dam sure

Posted by: TheSMF | February 10, 2012 at 10:42 PM
Now all these clowns need is a scapegoat.
A free agent wouldn't be stupid enought to sign here unless he was physically unable to get a job anywhere else (ala NoodleArm).
They can't scapegoat Matt Moore because he's more of an over-achieving underachiever.
Where in the world can we get a 1 year scapegoat, someone who literally cannot refuse to play here?
Posted by: TheSMF | February 10, 2012 at 10:47 PM
The more you read up on this Coaching staff the more I think Ross in an effort to sell tickets should have gone to a gimmick of some kind, like say?? The new Miami Dolphin Coaching staff is:
H.C.-----------Mike Shula (He said he wanted a young Shula)
O.C.----------Dan Marino (Guarantee we throw 90% of the time)
QB Coach------Don Strock (Was always more Coach than player)
WR Coach------Irving Fryar (For the Holy roller Fan)
Assis. WR-------Mark Ingram (On work release from Mich. Penitentiary for the feel good come back story)
OL Coach------Bob Keuchenberg (A.A. survivor story and would rip the team in the media adding flavor)
RB Coach------Bernie Parmalee (Back once again from UPS)
D.C.------------J.T. (After each win his players will carry him off the field)
Assis. D.C.-------Zach Thomas (The players would buy the hardwork paying off theme from him)
LB Coach--------John Offerdahl (Finally puts the Bagel down to do what he was born for)
Assis. LB-------Bryan Cox (Leave him there, yeah!)
D.B. Coach------Deion Sanders (His presence on the sideline would tweak curiosity alone)
Assis. DB-------Troy Vincent
Strength & Cond.---Hulk Hogan (Proclaims every player must take their Hulka Vitamins)
Assis. Strength Coach--The Undertaker (Who ever slacks off sleeps in the coffin)
This gimmick would at least make for entertainment!!
Assis. D.B.-----

While I won't argue with your analogy of the state of the franchise. I will remind you that Hogan hasn't been in the ring since his kid turned his BFF into a Carrot top and Taker is out ridding his Harley with his Biker gang some place and would at least instill respect, you ever seen him in an interview outside the WWE spectacle, the guy is intense.

You've given me a fantastic idea! Companies like Toys"R"us after the Christmas Holiday put together 45' Containers of toys and sell them at Close out price of around $5,000. We set up shop near the Stadium and blow our toys out at $50 to $75 and turn a HUGE profit. I take back what I said earlier, you Sir are a Marketing Genius and we target the Dolphin fanbase!!

The Hulk hasn't worked for McMahon in years.
However, he was in the ring just last night.
He has launched his own wrestling federation. While I'm no FAN, and it does suck harder than most, the Diva Matches alone make it MORE than worth a look see.
Every Thursday night!
PS: You guys are going just a little overboard on the hiring of these assistants-assistants!

Mando should let you write for him.

Stephen Ross, stop ripping off the fans. Get a real GM, HC, and QB.
Posted by: Jay | February 10, 2012 at 11:55 PM
Philbin is going to be light years ahead of SpOranus!
Dolphin Fans aren't going to know what hit them.
If you thought Daboll looked good after years of Dead Henning Walking, you ain't seen NOTHING yet.
Unlike SpOrano, Philbin knows Football.
Christ almighty, in all seriousness, SpOrano couldn't even figure out how to use time outs. He put a premium on Field Goals!
Worst of all, seriously now stay with me, worst of all, SpOrano never once called a Hail mary in 4 years of Coaching.
If there was less than 1:30 on the clock, SpOrano took a knee EVERY SINGLE TIME! No Joke!
Philbin and Sherman are going to expose Fatcells and his Tri-Fuked-us for what they are.
FRAUDS!!!!
Posted by: odinseye | February 11, 2012 at 12:12 AM
Ross got Hosed and Fleeced by Bald Wayne and the Fatman!
Wayne should have took Parcells and all his trash with him.
Ross got ganked and had to learn a hard lesson. The poor guy was getting gang banged by a bunch of thieving busturds!
Wayne and Fatcells stole his money and left him hanging with the Irish wonder boy.
Thank God he has finally cleaned house. Now that Philbins in charge Ireland better watch his step. His days are numbered. He won't won't be able to get away with the dummy stumble routine anymore.
Unlike Wayne and the Fatman, Philbin actually cares about WINNING. Not just stealing Ross' money!
Posted by: odinseye | February 11, 2012 at 12:19 AM
odin,
How do you see this very vanilla Coaching staff taking hold?? Somebody posted earlier that last yr. was a better group??
Yeah!! With the WR Coach moved to QB Coach and this guy moved there ect.. You do the hockie pockie and you turn yourself around, umm you get the point.
I thought outside of the Coordinator positions we were very understaffed and see some of that with this group.
I hope I'm wrong but in looking over the Defensive Coaching staff, I can see the team which is shifting philosophy taking a step back. Something that happens whenever shifting scheme but I ain't to sold on the teachers given the assignment.
I do however feel that Sherman is an adequate teacher on O but again wonder about his Assistants as well?? Either Philbin is a genius or this will be a long learning curve full of serious bumps in the road, your thoughts??

Odin is on fire!
Posted by: redsky | February 11, 2012 at 12:25 AM
odin,
You forgot about Sparano's nepotism biting him hard. His son was Strength and Conditioning Coach and we were in all honesty the worst team to get it together from a conditioning stand point last yr. by far!! Nobody has mentioned or taken this into account but SporAnus as you call him put the noose around his neck and jumped well before the start of the season and moving a WR Coach to QB Coach on a team in need of fine tuning the players at the position was about as mind blowingly stupid as stupid does.
Posted by: fin4life | February 11, 2012 at 12:26 AM
Odin you are scary optimistic. Ross isn't a victim. He's an idiot. We won't win anything until they are both gone
