Yet another reason I love RG3

You know I love Robert Griffin III.

It's been that way since the midway mark of the college football season. And it's about more than just his ability to run a 4.41 time in the 40 or the fact hes already graduated, or the fact his folks were both military personnel who instilled great discipline in the kid, or the fact he completed 72 percent of his passes with 37 touchdowns and only six interceptions last season.

No, it's the total awesomeness of this young man. He's bright. He's gifted. He handles himself like a successful 40-year-old man but manages to maintain a certain enthusiasm about things.

I love all that.

And I love what I saw below. I heard he had wowed practically every team he interviewed with at the Indy combine -- the Dolphins included. Check out how he handled the coach's interview with the NFL Network via the Sportsgrid:

go get rg3 ireland!!!!!!!!! do it now!!!!!!

Would you compare Vick to Young or Elway?

Ridiculous, nothing to do with him being black. 90% of the team is black!

Vick is a RUNNING QB, as is RGIII

Also not sure if it's the line or the fact that he scramble more than he should but he was sacked 27 times... Brandon Weeden only 13 Luck 10 times. He did have less INTs though... personally I'd rather have Weeden's numbers. RGIII's are great as well but.
Weeden had exact same completion % about 400 more yards 4750 37 TD 13 ints 13 sacks compared to Griffin 4290 yrd 37 td 6 int 27 sacks
Not to mention he beat and outplayed Griffin, Luck in fiesta bowl, and Tannehill.

YG,
You know I've been against signing Manning all along.
He may have a few more years than 2 left if his arm was hunky-dory which it currently isn't. Will it be? No one knows.
Of course it's a band-aid, and the same dumb ideas we've had ever since Marino retired. At least he has the distinction of actually being really good for most of his career. But he will be Pennington, again. A few years of better than average play (from brain and experience alone), and a mid to late round draft pick for the next couple of years, and the same expectation every season until he goes: "When are we getting the QB of the future?"
We'll draft around him, design our offense based on his play/knowledge, and be up a creek when he quits/gets-too-injured.
I'd rather say we're at ground floor NOW with our QB position, get the guy we want NOW (draft), and run with that.
Griffin, Cousins, Weeden, whoever.
Tannehill is my bust pick, but alas, he's got better chance than those 3 just mentioned to be a Fin.

but I see the writing on the wall. Ross says we want Manning (whether we like it or not). Peyton will have dubious interest this month based on the fact that September is the time he feels he might be able to answer the questions about his arm. But pressure from Ross, the media, and crazy fans will place a bid on Mannings table, and that bid will be accepted, and Manning is a Fin before Easter. My prediction. Then the only question becomes how do we draft now that the game has changed? No more Griffin, or pass rusher either - expensive fragile Manning will need a good RT, and since we no longer have the cap space to hire an experienced one, the draft is our only outlet.
With Pick #8, the Dolphins select Riley Reiff.

Obey the Ross. He has told us this is what we want.

DC Dolfan,

Funny how when Tim Tebow wasnt labeled "a running qb" coming into the league. Heck, running was clearly the only thing he did well at Florida.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, Tebow's "white". LOL

If they trade away the entire draft for anyone not named Luck I'd be pissed, but, luckily we don't have to worry about that, because it's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

he also threw a lot more and had less sacks so that difference in INTs makeup for a little of that imo

Enough with the wet dreams about RG3! He is NOT COMING TO MIAMI!
Why would he want to live in the chemtrail capitol of the world?

RG3 to DC
Flynn to Seattle
Manning to Miami

That's how it will unfold as I am the chosen one and overseer of all.

There are still people here that want Flynn or Tannehill over RG3.

I don't remember anyone being high on Tebow EXCEPT the million or so Florida fans...

YG Tebow was labeled a running QB everyone that watched him knew he ran the option at Florida

I still think singing Flynn makes the most sense.

I know it was only two games, but he's been learning behind Rodgers for what, 4 years now? And he was dropping accurate bombs in a way Henne never could. He doesn't cost a fortune and has a career ahead of him.

The best hope for continuity on offense is the Flynn-Philbin-Sherman connection.

Philbin has the inside track on Flynn. What is his opinion?

Do the Dolphins' Brass believe Joe is "Our Guy", or "Our Puppet"?

btw, to those who are arguing how do we know Manning's throwing is good/bad/in-between? Come on really? multiple reports from multiple sources constantly stream in claiming one thing or another. Read them all, and draw your own conclusion. Some say he can't throw it 20 yards accurately. Some say, he's a beast. Whatever. Like a political debate, check their agendas. I don't go with FA teammates, since they have something to gain by promoting Peyton.

Until he works out with the Fins, and tosses a 50 yrdr accurately, I'll assume he's noodle arm boy, like many reports have placed him.

Neo is the chosen one. You're a douche. Shut the hell up already & see my name...

I concur, it must be racial. If RG3 where whitey white white, the fan base would be all together screaming to sell the farm for him.

Beerphin,

You also have to realize Baylor's offense had "designed qb run plays". On designed run plays if RG3 were tackled behind the line of scrimmage. How many of those lost yardage plays were statiscally listed as sacks?

If the statistician couldnt discern between the two, actual designed run where RG# was tackled behind the line of scrimmage. Could also have been listed as "sacks".

South Florida is a racial area. Lot's of different ethnic groups that all hate each other.

Agree, Flynn is the best option, with the least margin of error. If he stinks, you release him...The end.

Anyway, this was fun...Peace out

Northwest, no one wants weak arm Flynn, 2 games is not enough to give him a 50 million dollar contract. Hell no to Flynn. Rg3 or Manning, or back to the cellar to draft Barkley in 2013.

marc try actually watching a baylor game. u will see griffin is a true qb, far far from being a running qb

Marc,

Agreed. When can sign Flynn(Errol) to play "Robinhood" at the local playhouses in the Miami area. Great idea buddy!

release him,lol and his 20 mill guaranteed. wake up man

IQ test, choose one:

1. I think Flynn is our best option.
2. I think we should do what it takes to get Manning
3. Draft Tannehill!
4. Give up the whole draft and more for RG3

If you did not choose #4, your IQ is 0.

Im sure Versace has a boner in his grave over the prospects of signing Flynn. OOps, that was Errol Flynn wasnt it? LOL

Everyone who reads what Home says is dumber as a result. Do you eyes & mind a favor & skip this bozo.

I can only but agree Mando he seems like a great prospect we can´t for sure say he is the next super Cam Newton, for that reason, I would insist this must be a calculated risk and decision so if the price get´s to steep we have to step back... The worse case scenario would be that Manning stays in Indy making it more difficult already to find a quaterback...And I´m no saying I want Manning but, that would shoot the price up...definetely....

Cheers

I think the problem here is the "running QB" label. Usually that's given to QBs who can't (or don't) throw (a lot or well, or accurately).

RG3 is NOT that. He CAN throw, very well, VERY accurately. He doesn't look to run first (unless it's a designed run play). He just happens to be an athletic freak, which many QBs are not, so he has weapon at his disposal in his arsenal.

That's very different than being a QB who can ONLY run. Or who looks to run FIRST. Or who's tendency is to drop their head when it trouble and run.

Go back and watch Baylor games. If that's what you believe, RG3 will prove you wrong.

DC you are such a tool. Everyone here remembers Doug Williams. You are so arrogant.

If you want to be wrong, just agree with what Home says. That's a guarantee or my name ain't PTWFDP!

AND we would still have $ left over to go after one of the many quality stud DE's to become available in FA, leaving the draft to address RT, TE, DB.

I've seen a bunch of big 12 games this year and a lot of sec. RGIII is legit at throwing but in my opinion he wasn't the best in his division Weeden was the best in the Big 12. They won that division and the bowl against Stanford.

It is a passing league only because the defenses are too short. If everyone were as tall as me, they would bat down or "block" the passes.

Seems as if people have a hard on for Home today lol

DC you are probably right. Running QB's don't cut it and most black QB's just don't have the head to learn todays complex offenses. I'm with you, let them choose Flynn or Tannehill.

YG that is a good point I wonder what it'd actually be if they did take it into account. But Weeden also threw the ball 162 more times than RGIII so you could say RGIII would have more TD and more int as well...

DC not sure of you remember Dan Fouts, he was a great passer and a terrible runner and he never one a SB.

Coming into the league Vick was "run first" because he wasnt very good at reading defensive coverages. I dont see RG3 having the same probablems becuase he's far brighter mentally and far more disciplined than Vick was coming into the league.

I see both RG3 and Luck being "the real deal" coming into the league. Both are about as "bustproof" as it'll ever get for incoming rookie qb's.

beerphin, the same Weedhead who lost against Iowa State

DC @ 4:01 - Very well said. Also, if you look at Vick, V Young, Pat White, etc.....they all had one thing in common. While highly touted for their athletic abilities, pundits, analysts, and scouts questioned their arms and whether or not they had the "arm" to make it in the NFL.

NOBODY is questioning RG3's arm except for joe blows who've never seen a game....and simply label him M. Vick 2.0 because......he's black.

Marc - I compell you to look up the footage of RG3's TD pass in the game against....I believe it was OU, where he hit his receiver in the endzone 42 yards through the air. By the by...and if you watch it, you'll know for yourself....this wasn't one of those passes that get launched up in the air and hopefully the receiver comes down with it. This was a tight spiral, on a rope through the air for 42 yards hitting the reciever in stride, in the end zone, and right in the numbers. It's brilliant....and there are many more examples.

Exactly wolf.

You can bring a horse to water, but you can't make him think!!!

What you are seeing & reading from Home is a phenomona commonly reffered to as "When dumb people speak"

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Marc, sure the guys can and does run and in college, those skills are obviously used more. However, the guy also has awesome pocket skills. So in the pros, wouldn't it be great to have a qb with awesome pocket skills and run when everything breaks down?

This guy isn't Micheal vick. He's not a guy who depends on the run, and in the pros, he surely wouldn't run to that degree. Don't understand where the doubt comes towards a guy with a 70% completion rate and a better td to int rate than the consensus number 1?

Coming into the nfl, Vick wasnt even average as a passer. Clearly his greatest weapon was his feet.

If RG3 is at least an "average" passer coming into the league. Nfl dec's will have "hell to pay". Once RG3 becomes at least a "top 10" nfl passer. He'll be a totally "unstoppable" weapon as an nfl qb.

Now, if RG3 ever becomes a Rogers-Brady-Brees type passer. Without a doubt he'll go down as easily the greatest nfl qb of all time. nHe would be un-game-plannable for nfl dc's!

Vick coming out of college was not a great passer, not very accurate. He improved over time, but the rookie RG3 is already way ahead of the rookie Vick. Vick is probably a shiftier runner, while RG3 is a speedier runner.

wolfman13,

Absolutely! The game winning td against Oklahoma was a "highly accurate" 37yd frozen rope to his wr. No Hail Mary.

The ball placement was impeccable from that far away. Only RG3's wr had a chance to make a play on the ball. Plus the ball had so much velocity that the db's had no chance to react.

no clyde vick was much faster at least at same age. don't know about now

I'd love to see Peyton in a Dolphins if it works. But how much use do we really get out of him? He's a GREAT temporary stopgap if he's healthy but we're still left looking for a quarterback.

RG3's not coming to town. Manning becomes available first. Stephen Ross writes the check. Manning comes to town.

I wonder what RG3's forty time would be without the dreds? 4.2 maybe? LOL

Gotta get out here. Posting here to frequently is murder on a operating system, then eventually the motherboard.

Im not kidding, I just had to buy a new home computer. My old operating system became overstretched and the motherboard blew. My IT guru told me posting hours on end on blogs like these greatly contributes to a computer's demise.

Im out, see you guys later!

"It isn't like the 90's. The NFL is now a passing league." I can't believe some of you actually believe you are capable of thinking. The NFL has been a passing league since 1978 when the rules first changed. Look at some stats for God's sake. Now, reality, Americans are getting dumber and South Florida is leading the downward trend. Just look at the posts on this blog.

Any possibility of taking Home with you?

OSU cowboys lost one game last year n that was in 2OT. Baylor got blown out by Texas AM then the next week got blown out by OSU. I watched both those games last year. He played alright but threw a couple picks that cost that game against OSU
Brandon Weeden won the division and then beat Luck and Stanford in the fiesta bowl.

It's OK to use specific examples. Take Home for instance!

Your IT guru is pulling your chain. Posting on the blog has absolutely no bearing on your operating system or your motherboard. It's literally impossible. It's like saying watching too much tv affects the tides.

Or like saying Home is smart!

Hey PTWFDP...I was on the can giving birth to a mini RG3.

Manning is coming to Miami...believe it!

So it be written, so it be done!

Skyles, Im glad you called out YG on that ridiclous statement about posting too much causes the motherboard to crash. Thats the stupidest post Ive seen on here in a while. LOL

PTWFDP is very insecure with himself that's why he needs to tear down others.
What's that matter PTWFDP, did your momma not breast feed you?

Ok, PTWFDP,

Here is another example of someone saying something that is so dumb its unbelievable.

"Posting here to frequently is murder on a operating system, then eventually the motherboard."

Yesterday's Gone said that. Since he believes it, he should change his posting name to "My Mind Is Gone."

Typing in a rich text box kills operating systems and motherboards.... HAHAHA. The guy would have to pole-vault to reach the level of dumb with statements like that.

From PFT site

Among quarterbacks expected to change teams this offseason, there’s Peyton Manning, Matt Flynn, and everyone else.

Chad Henne is reportedly getting the most attention of everyone else.

Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com reports that Henne is drawing the strongest consideration of any of the “1A” quarterback options. Also in that group: Kyle Orton, Jason Campbell, David Garrard, and Vince Young.
