Dolphins at Osweiler pro day PLUS private workout coming

I'm not a big Brock Osweiler proponent. He reminds me of Dan McGwire who was a good college quarterback but never made it in the pros. I guess you can understand the comparison because Osweiler, at 6-foot-7 and 242 pounds, is built like McGwire.

The Dolphins, however, are doing their homework and that work includes the former Arizona State quarterback. Nothing against the kid, but I don't like his mechanics, I don't necessarily love his mobility and his accuracy is inconsistent.

Oswelier has been addressing his mechanics since the end of the college season.

"It's more over-the-top now," Osweiler said of a revamped throwing motion. "I was kind of always dragging my elbow when I was playing here at ASU, and we really wanted to utilize my full 6-7 frame, or whatever it is, and make sure the arm and delivery is over-the-top."

Osweiler, who seems like a third-round talent to me, will go on multiple private workouts for several NFL franchises including the Dolphins.

"I'm meeting with the Chiefs and the Broncos next week and I'm taking trips to Miami and Buffalo and a few other places," he said.

During his workout today -- attended by Dolphins brass, including general manager Jeff Ireland -- Osweiler competed 66 of 75 passes with seven overthrows and one dropped pass, according to ASUDevils.com.

You are the sexiest Chinese woman that posts on this blog, Rob in OC.

I would love to share a glass of Malbec with you and make sweet love in an Aspen chalet.

I love you my hotcake.

Last year the Dolphins worked out a ton of players at their facility and drafted none of them.

Mando you say, "Nothing against the kid, but I don't like his mechanics, I don't necessarily love his mobility and his accuracy is inconsistent."

Sounds like a Perfect QB for the Dolphins. The Dolphins will probably draft him.

So, I read an account of what transpired in the Misi arrest (or the reason for the arrest). IF it went down like that (Misi was walking from an apartment building, some guy started taunting him from a balcony, he went up and punched through his door and punched him in the face), then Misi was TOTALLY IN THE RIGHT. And he should have beat him to a pulp (even into a concussion).

This dude obviously was looking for trouble if the account is true. And this should be a lesson to him, don't let your mouth write checks you can't cash.

Did Misi take it too far? I don't think so. Girls were there, the guy was taunting them too, that right there are fighting words, the dude should have kept his mouth shut. Got what he deserved.

FREE KOA MISI!

This is crap unless you want a fullback!!

Disagree DC,
At some point in life you have to learn to be a grown up. Be a man and walk away. Especially when you have a lot on the line like Misi and definately moer than some idiot screaming from a balcony. I have always been on the KM train despite what people on this blog say. Now, I am not so sure.
Koa Misi - Weak Sauce.

Trade down and get Whitney Mercilus first, end of debate.

Texas A&M 55 - 28 Baylor

Tannehill: 25 of 37, 415 yds, 67.6%, 6 TD 1 INT, 5 rushes 55 yds
RGIII: 28 of 40, 430 yds, 70%, 3 TD 1 INT, 12 rushes 15 yds

What a game!!!

Tannehill at #8 seems to be a foregone conclusion. But just because a team drafts a QB in the 1st Round, it doesn't make him a franchise QB. 50/50 chance he is a bust. Better to take a guaranteed animal in Round 1 at a less romantic position.

Disagree as well DC....

Childish and immature in my book....

That is a classic case of BAD DECISION MAKING.....Our football team is KNOW for bad decision making...from the former HC on down.....

This isn't a case of BAM-BAM...meaning.....Koa had no time to react....or he mad an instantaneous decision.....

As you posted...he had to get thru somebody's door..and then get to him...and then punch him....

allo of that EQUALS DUMB AS HECK.....ESPECIALLY...when he just saw what happened to Brandon Marshall....combine that with the FACT that you have a NEW HC who is trying to change a culture of losing...and put HIS STAMP on the team....

ALL of that EQUALS dumb @ss decision making...IMO....

Guys that can't/won't make good decisions....don't know...or UNDERSTAND if they have INSIDE OUT...or OUTSIDE IN responsibility on a given play....

They don't understand if they are suppose to CHIP the TE....or get 10 yards deep in a zone.....

I am tired of DUMB FOOTBALL PLATERS on my team....guys that just don't get it....

I'm not saying cut him....but the punishment should be stiff...and IF he gets cut......i won't shed a tear....

If your gonna go thru all that trouble to get to the dude....why not kill him....

All that work just to punch somebody in the eye....

If only we got that kinda effort on the field play after play from Misi.....he would have been a pro bowler.....

Hope the dude sues the crap out of him.....make Misi work for him on SUndays.....

I'm ranting....and i'm done....

I am just tired of DUMB football players on the FINS......really tired of it....

Daryl D....

Thanks for the shout-out from yesterday.....

Nobody has reminded me what happened when Tannehill played RG3 head to head. Please do.

DC....

I think your a jass @ss...punk...suck @ your job.....welfare dependent.....no women getting....dude loving.....salad tossing......long post using.....QB talking....dud....

You wanna fight me now....

Nobody has reminded me what happened when Tannehill played RG3 head to head. Please do.

After 3 days of posting the same thing over and over again, you would think you would move on...

Of course you don't....cause you have better decision making skills than that....and in the end....ONLY I look like an @ss for saying those things....and you look like the bigger man for ignoring me (keep walking).....

Of course I don't mean any of those things.....but I want to try and put it in as much context as I could over the net.....

"Free Koa Misi".....I LOVE IT.

Although Dude is going to have a tough time explaining to the league office why HE WENT OUT OF HIS WAY (e.g. up a flight of stairs) to engage in an altercation...

NFL Players are inherently volatile.
They probably couldn't Play in the NFL it they weren't.

Punching your way through a door to kick someone's @ss is HILARIOUS.

Unfortunately it will probably get him suspended.

I've read all the stuff from last night and I disagree with most of it. Guys are suggesting third and fourth guys to be taken at QB. Not into that at all. I'l also diagree with this notion that Tannehill isn't a first round talent and is only being touted as one because Barkley and Jones didn't declare. I call BS to that....where is that written? That's just someone's made up opinion. That's fine...but don't pass it off as FACT.

I've heard guys say, 'wait for Barkley or Jones next year'. Only problem is we're never bad enough to get those guys. So let's keep waiting longer and longer....

Then I read 'you don't draft a developmental QB at 8'. Really? Where is that written? There must be a draft handbook out there that I've never seen yet. No one had a problem with Ponder being taken at 8 last year or Ponder at 12. Are we supposed to wait until the 2nd or 3rd round and hope some of these guys are there? We've tried that....it never works out the way we want. Dalton would have been great last year and we waited and didn't get him. Tired of doing it this way. Go get him and draft wisely with the OTHER 6 picks we have. Get it done...if we're wrong...so what!

Allen the success rate of a 1st round QB is about 50%, and much much lower for someone who you would consider a franchise QB.

Should have said 'Locker at 8'....you get the point.

Another DL at 8 doesn't do squat for this team, until we solve the QB position. We've already got a coach on staff in Sherman who has a working relationship with the guy. Ideal....

Brock Osweiler??? Are you kidding me? His stats are not even good enough to be a high school QB. Wow we have really gone down hill. Kellen Moore is the guy to pick up and put the the practice squad if anyone. His numbers are off the charts.

Do you guys even understand the Pat White draft. He wasn't drafted to be a traditional QB, he was drafted to be a wildcat QB. That's when Parcells duped himself into thing we had turned the corner in 2009, and we could draft a gimmick player in the 2nd round.

Osweiler?? YAWN

Ireland drafted Pat White to replace/compete with Henne. It clearly was another huge Ireland botch.

Ireland admitted he thought White was the next Michael Vick. Without the baggage.

fairlyodd, really did you even look at his stats. It seems to me that the 326 for 516, with a 63% comp percentage, 4000 yard, 26 TD passes and 12 INt's is a little better than HS. So please know before you post. I'm not an Osweiler proponent, but his stats do look pretty good. And get off the 5'11" no arm QB. He doesn't throw the ball well on tight spaces, and can't power the ball. At best he's a 6 or 7 rounder. He will hold a clipboard for a career.

White was a Parcell call and he was there to run the wildcat not more nothing less. Go back and read.

Here's a quote from Parcells in PFT to Armando

“We violated our principles,” Parcells told Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, in reference to picking White. “He just wasn’t a prototypical quarterback pick. He was a great college player, and we let that color our judgment.”

Parcells thought White had the potential to be a game-changing player in the wildcat offense, but looking back on it, he thinks the Dolphins should have been looking for a pro-style passer, not an all-purpose athlete.

Mike, you are wrong. When he draftd him,Ireland said Pat White would be another Michael Vick

DolphinDave, I guess Parcells was joking when he gave Armando that quote. That quote was directly from him as to why they drafted hi, Look it up before you post. Don't be an ignorant fan.

“We violated our principles,” Parcells told Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, in reference to picking White. “He just wasn’t a prototypical quarterback pick. He was a great college player, and we let that color our judgment.”

He said "WE" referring to Ireland who was the guy admittedly hot for Pat White.

In fact here's the link read it for yourself.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/12/parcells-kicks-himself-for-drafting-pat-white-picking-long-over-ryan/

We as in collective, Armando reported that Ireland tried to talk BP out of the choice, but BP overrode him. And he was picked as a wildcat QB, not as a traditional starting QB.

Mike,

Parcells would've said "I" if it was his idea. I heard Ireland after the draft saying HE thought Pat White was the next Michael Vick.

Osweiler, Keenum, Cousins, Moore????....are you f-ing kidding me? Some of you guys are doing EXACTLY what you criticize Ireland for....LOOKING FOR ACORNS. Only probably is you're doing it at the most important position on the team.

Tannehill is a first round talent. That can't be mistaken. We have a long term need at QB. That can't be mistaken. Take a chance....if we're wrong...so what? We're wrong on all these other guys....how is this any different? Wait for Barkley etc....never seems to happen.

You've got a brand new coach and a GM who seems to have the boss' confidence. They are never going to have more job security than they have right now. If you can't draft a first round QB now, when can you draft one? None of these guys come with guarantees.....if Tannehill had a guarantee he wouldn't be available at 8. YOU TAKE A CHANCE....

Mike if you believe that nonsense i have some ice in Alaska to sell ya! LOL

Find the quote. He never ever said it. BP never ever takes responsibility for anything that fails. Dp you want me to find the Armando article about Ireland opposing the pick.

TGH all you have is your belief, not anything tangible. I have some Everglades land for you.

Parcells does take responsibility when its his fault. I've seen it many times. He was clearly covering for Ireland in that quote. Pat White was Ireland's idea.

Show me the many times. Show me proof. All we have is your belief period.

Here from the Palm Beach Post.

The 2009 draft brought cornerbacks Vontae Davis and Sean Smith, both starters, as well as second-round quarterback Pat White, a bust for whom Parcells takes the blame.

Ireland "has made a number of solid decisions," said NFL Network analyst Charley Casserly, a former general manager. "I've felt all along they've made progress, and that's all you really can do.

The question is can Irescum find us another Pat White?

Mike all you have is your(twisted) belief. We DOES NOT mean I! LOL

Then I read 'you don't draft a developmental QB at 8'. Really? Where is that written? There must be a draft handbook out there that I've never seen yet.

This guys stupidity knows no bounds. Craig to you pay any attention to the subject you talk about or do you just talk for the fun of making senseless arguments?

Tannehill would’ve been a 4th rd pick in last years QB loaded draft. This year its slim pickens at QB and every team is reaching.

Allen the success rate of a 1st round QB is about 50%, and much much lower for someone who you would consider a franchise QB.
Posted by: Mike | March 31, 2012 at 10:11 AM

.

And much lower for an idiot like Irescum. Savvy GM's do much better then that.

Craig M

See: Rob in OC | March 31, 2012 at 01:55 AM

He did a good job of explaining why you don't draft a project developmental project QB with a high 8 pick.

FIRE IRESCUM who and give an example.

I think its time Misi, Merling, Henne and Hartline are added to the list of Ireland's draft busts. And D Thomas may be next especially when the idiot squandered 3 picks on him.

No reason to pick Tanneyhill. Grab Blackmon or Couples and get Weadon in RD 2 if need be. Spending a number 8 on a 3rd QB makes no sense.

After signing Garrard, the Dolphins wont draft a QB at #8. They'll wait till next yr. Either Coples, or Ingram will be drafted at #8.

FIRE IRESCUM who and give an example.

Don Shula got 3 HOF QB's It was no accident.

Mike all you have is your(twisted) belief. We DOES NOT mean I! LOL

Really, from the Palm Beach Post. Bring some else aside from your beliefs. Quit being an uninformed fan.

No he didn't he got one. He only got Marino. That's what I mean about an uninformed fan. Johnny U wasn't drafted. And in fact signed by Pittsburgh before being cut and signed by the Colts. Bob Griese was drafted by George Wilson, and Marino by Shula. Shula had a lot of misses as well.

Mike if you believe that nonsense i have some ice in Alaska to sell ya! LOL

Read again. I never said he drafted them. He got them. Or put himself in the right position. There was no stopping Shula from having a great QB. Shula ALWAYS had great QB's.

TGH quit looking like an uninformed fan, your looking pretty dunb

Why dont you guys ignore Mike. He's obviously the village idiot. How bout that ice in Alaska Mikey?
