Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill's pro day is proceeding before a large contingent in College Station, Tex.
The Dolphins are there with general manager Jeff Ireland and coach Joe Philbin confirmed. I do not know if offensive coordinator Mike Sherman is there. I will try to confirm. [Update: Sherman is not in College Station.]
Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports the Dolphins contingent had dinner with Tannehill on Wednesday night. They forced him to pay.
Nah, just kidding. I'm assuming the Dolphins paid.
According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, there are 21 teams present for the event. The Cleveland Browns are there, represented by offensive coordinator Brad Childress among others. It is interesting perhaps only to me that the Browns' major voices -- general manager Tom Heckert and head coach Pat Shurmur were not present. They were at Alabama's pro day to see running back Trent Richardson.
The Broncos, Chiefs, Bills, Saints and Seahawks are there, with head coach Pete Carroll representing his team.
Because he suffered a broken foot this offseason, scouts wanted to see Tannehill run to make sure he is relatively healed. According to reports, Tannehill ran the 40-yard dash once and clocked (hand timing) between 4.59 and 4.62.
Tannehill completed his first 24 consecutive throws, according to NFLDraftScout.com analyst Dane Brugler. He had a pass dropped then he had another pass dropped on his 42nd throw. He finished the workout with 65 completions -- 65 for 68 with two dropped passes.
Yes, quarterbacks typically ace their pro day workouts. I get it. But it is always better that they perform well than if they chuck a hot mess of poo. So give the guy that.
I remind you Tannehill, who started 19 games at quarterback, was a wide receiver before was moved to QB. He will go in the first round as a QB. He said after the workout he has private workouts already set up with the Browns, Chiefs, and Eagles.

So we'll see if Koa gets the Marshall treatment. It's his first offense (that I heard of) so maybe he gets a break. But we can't have all the woman abusers on our team. Doesn't look good.
Also, Richardson, looks like he'll be a good player. PASS! NO THANK YOU. NOT NOW, NOT EVER!
The days of drafting a 1st-rd RB are OVER!

Just a collection of quotes from a few places around the web relating to Misi…
“If I were on the Dolphins I’d probably be hitting people too.”
“..another worthless Ireland pick. Zero skill and zero character. A mirror image of Ireland himself. ”
“Another Jeff Ireland waste of a draft pick. Should have shipped him to the Bears with Marshall for a gatorade or something of equal value”
“Aloha, isnt this the second Hawaian/Polynesian to be arrested this offseason? these kids dont play add Piouha to the mix and we have the trifecta. Of course it may just be the Utah comming out in him if I had to deal with 30 wives I’d probably lose it with a few of them too.”
“keepin it classy Miami, the fins are the new Bengals

That is the most inaccurate comment I have seen in a long time. Whoever posted that either doesn't follow football or just hates the Fins and is trying to keep the bad PR going.
For awhile the Bengals had their entire team getting in trouble, Miami has had very few.
Just stupid

Poizen, I've seen Poison twice. Once when they were "at the top of their game" in about 1988 and then two years ago before Brett had his health problems. They were better recently than they were 20 years ago. I agree with you.
They aren't one of my all time favourites but I won't say anything bad about them either because they are balls out and play hard. Got to respect that.

The way its shaking out, Tannehill WILL NOT even be around when the Dolphins pick. If they really have their eyes set on him, they should be very wary of the Browns even if Shurmur and Heckert weren't there.
Childress flopped as a coach but is an effective coordinator and he can give the Browns the opinion they need. If he isn't there, then just take the pass rusher, possibly Coples who's a stud ( 6'4" - 280 and can move). They can address the QB position possibly in the 2nd or 3rd round with Weeden or Osweiler and the WR position also in the 3rd round with the pick from Chicago in the Marshall trade.

Learn what matters in rock music today:
The Black Keys
Jack White/Raconteurs/Dead Weather/White Stripes (now retired)
Smashing Pumpkins new record this year
Garbage new record this year
The Walkmen (look 'em up)
Iron & Wine
Cage the Elephant
John Mayer's blues side
Dan Auerbach
Bon Iver
Bonnie Prince Billy (the true heir to Kurt Cobain -- dark country, where Cobain was headed).
* It is a known fact that Nirvan's In Utero was so perfect as a rock album that those who followed were forced to do something different. Dark Country is the true heir to Nirvana. Bonnie Prince Billy. Research it. The post-grunge copycats were sheep. The true followers went to something like what Cobain did in the MTV unplugged show and on many of the deep cuts one can find on the box sets.
See, for example, "Don't Want It All" on the Nirvana box set.
Any true music fan also listens to plenty of jazz and classical, by the way.

Elvis, I've never really been a mainstream pop music listener. Can't tell you the last time I've listened to the radio. Heck, I probably didn't hear Rihanna's "Umbrella" song for about 6 months after it came out.
I know classic rock/heavy metal better (AC/DC, Quiet Riot, Zeppelin, Who, Rush, etc.). But I stopped listening to that stuff in the 80's.
My forte is hip-hop and reggae (with a minor in soul and jazz).

Mark,
Just had lunch with a good friend of mine who is a HUGE music fan. He's seen KISS I don't know how many times and the same with Queen. One of his favourite bands is Blue Oyster Cult who he is also a huge fan of and has seen many, many times. He's all set to see The Moody Blues again next month at Seneca Casino (I've seen them a couple of times myself). He was all set to get four seats to see Aerosmith, which I think would have cost him $1000. Little crazy when you think about it.....
I think I'm a little older than you (44 now, can't actually believe it myself), so my tastes have mellowed a bit in my old age. I'm hoping to see Colin Hay (front man from Men at Work, who I hear is great live, doing a lot of his solo stuff) and Sting is playing Artpark in Lewiston in June, which if you haven't been is an awesome setting. I think my days of the BIG concert shows are just about done and I prefer the smaller, more intimate settings now (although I saw U2 for the third time last Summer at Rogers Centre and Paul McCartney at ACC about 18 months ago). For me, Massey Hall is about as good as it gets. Saw John Mellencamp there a year ago and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen and I'm not even a huge Mellencamp fan. Also a great place to see Blue Rodeo.

Nothing like more negative press to jumpstart season ticket sales....LOL!!! I was not a big fan of this kid's play on the field & now I'm not a big fan of this kid personally either. Ireland really nailed this pick & don't forget Dobbins was a part of that trade with the Chargers. We traded down to get Odrick & wound up with very little for SD to move up a bunch of spots.
