The Peyton Manning interview in South Florida

Peyton Manning landed in Miami around 4 p.m. today, returning home from his emotional day in Indianapolis on Colts owner Jim Irsay's private plane.

And after a White Bronco-like chase from Opa-Locka in North Miami-Dade to Miami Beach, the now free agent quarterback stopped for reporters following the van that picked him up. He got out, waited for all the reporters and cameramen to gather and then had an impromptu news conference.

Awesome!

Earlier today he dismissed a previous erroneous report that the Dolphins were first or high on a priority list of teams he's interested in when he said, "I haven't thought about what team I'm going to play for." And in the afternoon he repeated the sentiment and added he has to figure out where he's wanted.

"I have no idea who wants me what team wants me," he said. "I literally have not had one conversation with anyone about these teams. It's been so hard to try to figure out some closure with my situation with the Colts that I haven't really concerned myself with that."

Manning, who can sign with any team he wants at any time he wants without having to wait until the start of free agency March 13, also said he isn't sure if he'll begin to take visits with clubs or they'll come to him or it'll simply be a situation where his agent begins negotiations and a deal with his new team is struck.

"I don't know if it's like college recruiting where you take visits," Manning said. "It's all new to me."

Oh, and perhaps the most important thing?

Manning has had at least three and perhaps four procedures on his neck to repair damage to nerves that caused numbness and atrophy in his throwing arm. The arm lost much of its much-heralded strength. But Manning has since regained much of that strength and he had a message for anyone wondering about his physical status.

"My neck is fine," Manning said. "The doctors have cleared me. That's been a relief to me. I've continued to work hard and the best part about it is being out there throwing again."

.....kidding.

Yah....that little two horse town with the good pizza place...lolololol

If you don't want Manning to be a Dolphin, you are stupid. That is all.

Yo...have to get going peeps.....enjoyed the chat......hope we get Peyton....laters

Quilombo,

Look at the Colts in 2011. What they were without Manning. Many commentators called Manning The MVP in 2011 and he didn't even play.

Most things I've heard in this RE say Manning may have been able to boost them to 7-9 maybe 8-8.....the Colts have holes everywhere. Sorry, while the QB is a huge piece of the puzzle, it's not the only piece....even an all time great like Manning doesn't make a 2 win team a super bowl contender. The signs of the Colts decline were pretty damned obvious in 2010...you could see it took everything Manning had to carry that team and they in no way looked like legitimate contenders.

The writing was on the wall in 2010.

Buster,
Let me guess you are behind the Labron and Wade support for Peyton last night. Maybe you need to sit down with Peyton yourself. LOL

hey Wolfman.......AAHHHHHHOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH !

Ga. fan...I'll do it....gladly..

..provided you send me some pizza from that good place that Eric mentioned....lol

HEY CASH, YOU SOUND LIKE AN OSAMA (OOPS I MEAN OBAMA) MAN. I HOPE YOU GOT LOTS OF CASH BECAUSE IF GETS REELECTED HE WANTS IT ALL.

Buster,
I think he spent too much time at Paula Deene's place eating crawfish pie. LOL

That article is garbage.

Are you kidding?? Declining performance 4700 yds and 33 TD's really??? That's declining??

When is the last time that we had a QB with those stats???

Every QB in the NFL has worse road stats than home stats, and the stats aren't terrible anyway. You must be kidding there!!

Last time I checked this game is a team game and playoff wins honestly to do with the TEAM preparation, rarely is a team carried by one player....

The age issue could be argued from a historical perspective, however, we are talking about statistically and arguably the best QB in the history of the league. He is capable of running ANY offense, and he recognizes EVERY defense. He can audible at the LOS and can make any throw. The league protects these guys like they are gold!!

There are a minimum of 12 teams that are confirmed as interested in PM. These are league professionals....why do think that there is so much interest???

Because the league doesn't believe what some of the sports writers do!!

The only worry, is the size and structure of the contract.

greth,
I'm with you. I don't care who the Dolphins get, some on here are going to find a reason to be a hater.

I think they must be Jets fans hating that the Dolphins have a better chance of getting Manning and they are stuck with Sparano and Sanchez.

We have been rebuilding for 4 years, with FA it is expected that you win within 4 years. We ARE a win now team, we are NOT rebuilding for 4 more years!!

We need a QB that can be effective now, and we need to develop another. Or we need a rookie that can play like a veteran, and I don't trust any of them!!

BIG 12 QB's are ALWAYS overrated and with more than 20 of them in the league over the past 15 years, history has not been kind, even to the highly regarded ones!!

greth,
if we sign peyton, which QB's do you like in the draft class of 2012. i think brock osweiler is intriguing. he had nice stats in 2011: 4036yds/63.2%completion rate/7.8ypa/140.5QB rating. he's got a low release but @ 6'7" it's hardley a factor. i think best available DE/OLB @ 8 and osweiler in rd 2 would work

The Broncos will get Peyton...Think about it, a superstar quarterback that can and will win! And he is the only option to keep Denver fans from rioting because Tebow isn't playing, and a great mentor and teacher for Timmy as well.

Elway is charged with making Denver a super bowl contender and he will do just exactly that!!

Sorry Dolphins!!

we will get manning and when we do all you suckers better be ready!!!!!!!!!!yaaaaa uuuuuuuu.......

Manning is going to Tennessee along with Wayne. Sorry to say! :)
