Welcome Tyrell Johnson, Miami's newest addition

Yes, the Dolphins have been slimed by some notable NFL names as a team to avoid. Warren Sapp and Pittsburgh safety Ryan Clark have been critical of Miami and said players are staying away from Miami for various issues.

Free agent safety Tyrell Johnson, signed Thursday after four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, doesn't agree. He said his visit in Miami on Monday went well. He said he "felt comfortable" with Miami's coaches. And he disagrees Miami is a bad place to continue a career.

"I think that's a negative way to look at it," Johnson said Thursday. "I feel like any team in the NFL is a place to go play. It's a privilege to play in the NFL and any team can compete for a playoff spot. it's a coin flip every year. Look at the Lions a couple of years ago and look at them now. They're a playoff-caliber team every year now, I would think.

"I don't believe in that saying."

Johnson didn't visit any other team during free agency. He said he had another visit pending but cancelled it.

Johnson was a second-round pick in the 2008 draft but never quite met expectation in Minnesota. He started games sporadically but the Vikings wanted more and Johnson never provided it.

Johnson, meanwhile, believes he's ready to give more with the change of scenery. He will compete at both free and strong safety for the starting job as the Dolphins plan to use interchangeable safeties anyway.

"I've been through it," he said. "I've been on top. I've been on the bottom. I've been benched. I've been inactive. I've been hurt. You just grow up as a person, a player, as a father. You grow up as a human being going through some things. Sometimes you have to go through some things to get some things."

Johnson has been though some things off the field as well.

In September of 2011 he was arrested for suspicion of driving while impaired. Authorities said Johnson was arrested after registering a .12 blood alcohol level in a state where .08 is the legal limit.

"Terrible decision on my part," Johnson said. "Terrible judgment call. It shouldn't have happened. I paid my dues for it. I did everything to handle my business there and that's behind me ... You live and you learn. That's behind me. I made a mistake.

"I've apologized and greatly feel sorry for that mistake. You live and you learn and I'm focused now on getting better and making better decisions in the future. "

Johnson also finished the 2011 season on the injured reserve list after he tore a hamstring in November. Johnson said Thursday the injury is still not completely well. He estimated he's at "85 percent."

What do you guys think of going after McNabb? Unlike Tuna, I always listen to the fan base about free agents.

Hit me up! Tuna would never explore the free agent market like I would.

odinseye, i liked your other alias names more than Dolfan Danny.

Wow, the troll gets called out for his BS and runs and hides like a chicken little.

What a panzy asss. Oh well, at least he gone. Thank God, now lets not press our luck.

Odin,

Your flaw here is that all these aliases you are making up today, well we've never seen these names before, so how would they know who normally says what when and where?

Hmmm.

You just may be dumber than a refried bean.

FYI...I didn't man up for RGIII or Flynn because I remembered what Tony said one day.

“If I don’t call timeout we're all (explicit). Now I'm getting fired.”

Please fin fans. Don't hate me because I got kids to feed.

Bo I'm Dolfan Danny. If you have a problem with my name you can discuss it with.

I hardly think Odin stupes the level of the Gay Trolls by using aliases.

Whether you like Odin or not, he speaks his mind and doesn't seem to hide it at all. Let alone hiding behind any aliases.

That's the little gay retards trick. The guy better known as the TROLL.

Dolfan Danny (aka odin)

A search of the last three years posts does not show you arriving before today ;)

You are dumber than a refried bean. LOL.

I mean really,

I'm not going to risk feeding my kids for RGIII, Flynn or Tannehill. Why would I do that for you folks? Y'all ain't paying my bills or feeding my kids.

I can play it safe with Moore or Garrard. Probably get an extension if we win 7 or 8 games this season.

Troll Alert

Bo Diddley is another incarnation of the Gay Blog Hit Troll.

The tactics you described above are your own tactics. Your name is the one we haven't seen around here before.

I see Dolfan Danny and Bobby13 posting here alamost everyday. For being a Troll, I think you're dumber than most!

Tell him Bob!

Blog Troll your tactics are getting old and worn out. Just like your lips and Bunga Hole-LOL!

Everybody here is onto you and your BS.

You're so gay, when you fart is goes WHOOOOOOOOOOOSH instead of Thhhhpppppppppt!

Buh Bye GayTard!!!!

PS: Good looking out Bob!

Honestly, I wanted to break out the water cannon on those protesters a few weeks ago. But th Boss said don't do it. He said I will call them and make them think I gave a damn about them.

So I called off the water cannon. Dansby was more than willing to man it.

The boss has season ticket holders that have a 100 tickets. Think he cares about 1 season ticket holder?

I do care about you unlike Tuna and his cronies that taught me everything I know.

I love each and every one of the Dolphin fans. Trust me on that. Tuna hated all of you. Remember, its all Tuna's fault. That's why I love you and would never disrespect your faith in me.

Have a happy Easter dolfans. You are in my heart 24/7/365.

PS...Channing Crowder is one very suspicious character. Someone needs to follow him. If he questions why you are following him then just shoot him claiming stand your ground. It worked for a friend of mine.

Dolfan Danny and Bobby13 posting here alamost everyday.

None of those names, nor Bob from Bocca show up anywhere. You are that stupid that you don't think the regulars notice that? Dumber than dumb.

Odin, seriously, you are bringing yourself down to new lows.

go fins

PS...I'm not a racist. I just hate people who aren't the same color as me. Does that make me racist or colorist? I don't feel racist. I just think every person who doesn't look like me has a mom who is a prostitute. Or a pimp. Or doing drugs. Or raping women who look like my mother.

Nothing wrong with that right my lovely dolfans.

PS...I love each and every one of you. You are in my heart all day every day.

Odin floyd reminds me of vincent jackson only faster. To all those complaining about marshall getting traded it was a good move. Miami is installing a new spread the ball around offense that in which requires guys sacrificing personal stats to get teammates open on the field. You really think brandon" just give me the damn ball" would be a team player ? As far as the price he is what 28 or 29? And bothered by injuries during the season? Guys his size tend to slow down near 30 or so and become over sized possession wr. And he was at gamebreaker wr salary. Had to go so we had room for young explosive teamwork friendly wrs.

Remember, its all Tuna's fault. Not mine. I was just a General in his Army. No one blames the General for the Presidents job right?

I was just carrying out orders. I didn't even know what the orders meant. Even if I did, who am I to tell the President I think its a mistake to do X, Y or Z? I just kept my mouth shut, eyes closed and ears moot. Every week I just collected my paycheck and followed orders.

I'm just a lowly General. I have no say in the day to day operations of what happens.

So forgive me if I am weak and nutless. But if you elect me President, I will somehow grow some balls and do the right thing.

I am so utterly desperate for football talk that I have to stoop down to respond to bloggers like Odin the drunk and TheSMF/Pricemaster who constantly asks bloggers to swallow his load.

I can prove I'm not racist.

Most of my servants are minorities. If I was racist, I would have hired the servants with the highest Wonderlic score.

Trust me, I give everyone a Wonderlic test. Even my friends. That's why my friends are all white.

Dang. I just took a crap the size of New Jersey. What a huge dump. Unbelievable.

This blog is becoming nothing but CRAP....

ARMANDO....you are solely responsible for this mess.....are you PROUD of the product you put on the internet....

Do you think you do the FINS justice.....

Would it EVER be worth Ross's....Irelands....or Philbin's time to sift thru this CRAP you call Dolphins In DEPTH....this is the place where people come to talk EVERYTHING BUT.....FINS FOOTBALL.....

Whats up with that NEW PROGRAM......

If you got one....then you got ripped off....

Armando....you NEED to fix this mess....people are dropping like flies from this site.....and its because YOU haven't done a thing even try and keep them.....

Show your regular poster's some MUCH NEEDED RESPECT.....FIX THIS CRAP.....

Mr. Ireland.

With all sincerity I say, as a very longtime Fins fan, that I know we need to have a QB that can lead us to the promise land BUT...

PLEASE DON'T OVER-DRAFT TANNEHILL!! #8 is too high! If it were Barclay I would be full steam ahead.

His stats AND time at QB don't EVEN BEGIN to suggest he should be a top 10 QB.

His GLARING stat is INTs! It doesn't get easier in the NFL. Turnovers win/lose games nearly all the time.

You have specifically gained a Vet presence in Garard in case needed. Moore will end up being just fine to guide the team while next years draft rolls around.

Getting Tannehill at #8 would be a gigantic foible.

In light of already having two decently viable QBs...why not grab them a Vincent Jackson like WR to replace Brandon Marshall's production? WR Michael Floyd is the choice to make at #8. Tab Ronnell Lewis in the 2nd round as he has the killer mentality and athleticism to be a great LB for a long time. He is like a Terrell Suggs type.

Slow football day. That is all...

Kris, try some prune juice. It will help that irritable bowel syndrome you have. It worked wonders for me.

Log....

Thanks for the advice....I will take it into consideration.....

Maybe "Armando"....will take some of mine as well.....

one-for-one.....

Ronnell Lewis LB.

This is how you hit people! This is how the turnovers get caused! He has a knack for the insane smack!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DS5coCK-qCg

Cheers,

The Fins need more aggressive players like this to become a more ferocious DEF!

PS: Mr. Ireland. If you overpay for Tannehill now it will definitely undermine your pay only for value shown theory. In other words, you didn't overpay for QBs already in the NFL so don't overpay for a WR turned QB two year project in Tannehill.

PSS: Mando...Get off your duff and throw up some topics more regularly man...the draft is freaking THIS MONTH! There is no lack of topics for this teetering blog.

Cheers,

Rob in OC

Would you concede Sherman knows better than you the value of Tannehill?

If so, nothing to worry about.

It is funny how bloggers and media pundits seem to believe they know more about a players abilities than the professionals who have coached them. I'll take Sherman's opinion first and foremost over anyone elses.

Rob,

I was on the Tannehill bandwagon for a second or two but I've come to the realization that if he's not ready to start day one, then whats the point.

There are are lot of similar qb's available in later rds. There will be several more in the draft next year.

If I were walking up to the podium to make our rd 1 selection right now it would be Floyd.

What a total pile this blog has become. We just can't expect much from lliterate Armando.

ROB IN OC........LONG TIME ....

CAN YOU PLEASE COME AND VISIT OHIO DOLFAN NEW SITE WHERE YOU WILL FIND ALL THE GREAT GUYS FRON YG ,OSCAR OR THE GREAT KRIS ........

THERE'S A RUMOR ABOUT ARMANDO BEING LAID.OFF THE HERALD ,,

WOW WHAT A BARGAIN,DOLPHINS ARE FEED HUNTERS, LIKE GOING TO THE GOODWILL STORE HOPING TO GET A BARGAIN FOR NOTHING, COME ON MAN OPEN YOUR WALLET DUST THE SPIDER WEBS OFF AND LOOK FOR A REAL PLAYERS,THE BILLS SEASON TICKET SALES ARE UP, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY? I TELL YOU WHY BECAUSE THEY FOUND REAL GREAT FOOTBALL PLAYERS IN THE OFFSEASON AND FANS TOOK NOTICE,DOPLHINS YOU NEED TO TAKE A PAGE FROM WHAT BILLS HAVE DONE THIS OFFSEASON SO FANS WILL TAKE NOTICE.

Everybody in Miami knows that Fidel Castro has some business interests in the Miami Herald. We, Cubans and Americans both, don't want him here. The McClatchy Corporation must figure out a way to get rid of this pest.

Our Football wallet is nearly empty, ROB.

Everyone is always saying this blog is a pile of crap. Yet they keep coming. I know one of you is Beowulf. Only Beowulf keeps coming back after blasting the board.

My football wallet has run dry a few years ago. This is horrible. Pats are always good because they draft and sign FA's very well.

Who cares how many folks you sign before the cut off. Belecheat doesn't care because its all business to him. He'll just cut the waste to get under the cap.

Meanwhile, he is picking acorns off the ground. Don't even need to reach for them.

All I do is go to the Texan home games now. Miami football makes me want to throw up.

The only money that will go against the cap is the 53 man roster and the dead money. Some folks are guaranteed to make the roster. Some are not guaranteed to make the roster.

That's what Belecheat does year in and year out! Why haven't people figured this out? Most likely they don't have a draft guru on the team like we do. They don't have an acorn picker like we do.

Belecheat signs plenty of players and let them compete for a job. Then he jettisons their butts as he goes.

MY GOD! CAN WE GET SOME DECENT ACORNS UP IN HERE?

Odinseye--
I realize you have deluded yourself into thinking you're a popular, entertaining figure here but the reality is that you're a dreary, flaccid, boring geriatric who needs to conjure up a fabricated life in a desperate (and futile) attempt to sound interesting and vital to people.
And as others have noted, your CONSTANT allusions to gays, gay sex, gay culture, gay ANYTHING makes it patently obvious you are dealing with your own issues and the perfect definition of a closet queen.
In fact, your response to this will almost certainly contain yet more gay references because of your obsessions (not to mention an overall lack of intellectual capacity to argue in anything but juvenile cliches and internet tough guy blather).
In essence, you are just a pathetic creature who is wasting everyone's time here and wouldn't be missed a bit if you never posted again.

Post of the day...

If we take Luke Kuechley at MLB, we could slide Dansby outside to line up behind Wake. For the money Dansby makes we should be maximizing his pass rushing skills.

1. Kuechley.

2. Whitney Mercilous, DE Ill.

3a. Kelechi Osemele, T/G Iowa St. 6-5½ 313.

3b. Kirk Cousins, QB Michigan St.

4. A.J. Jenkins, WR Illinois 6-0¼ 190 4.39

5. Tommy Streeter, WR 6-4⅞ 219 4.40

This mock would get us Wakes bookend in Mercilous, plus our pass rushing OLB in Dansby.

Kuechley will be a perenial Pro Bowler for the next 10 years.

It shores up our O-Line and gets us our project QB in Cousins at the RIGHT price.

Jenkins and Streeter are intersting flyers!

Good article by Armando on the value of QB's nowadays. Tough call on Tannehill, the guy is obviously not ready to start in the NFL but in my opinion he is the one with the most potential to become a franchise QB among the QB's left. Hmm..

What, People in Church(atoning for their sins)?

Look for the FINS to Schmooze with Tenehill in the up coming weeks....dinners....work outs......long walks on the beach......

All in an effort to get the ALMIGHTY trade back with some sucker team.....

Lets hope it works this time...cause nobody bit with the Mallett ploy.....

odin, waht makes you like Kuechley so much?

No doubt about it, odin. I looked Kuechly up. He takes great angles to the ball, has great closing speed and hits hard as all hell. A great player for years to come in the NFL. I just don't know if we need a MLB now.

Boy, is this Draft loaded with great Players. Those are the Super-Athletes I have talked about.

Oscar,

Having Dansby on the team, you could argue we don't need a middle linebacker. But with Wake moving to RDE in our new 4-3, we need at least one more outside linebacker.

By taking the sure fire, can't miss Kuechley, we get our true middle linebacker and can move the talented Dnsby to outside rush backer.

It's kind of like a win, win "Two Fer".

If you don't like that one, I have another mock that begins with us taking WR Michael Floyd!

Makes sense, odin. But that is only the base defence which they will probably use only 20-30% of the Time. Regarding Wake, I think you meant LDE.

Sunday Spotlight.....hit it up

4-3
3-4
4-3

It's a non issue. Wasted topic. Most teams play both situationally. It hasn't even been confirmed yet what our base defense will be, but it's meaningless, they will use both formations.

ODIN........MY DEAR FRIEND ...............WE MISS YOU @ OHIO NES FOOTBALL SITE...CLICK ON OHIO'S NAME AND WILL TAKE YOU THERE .........

I BELIEVE WE PLAYED 3-4 AND 4-3 AND 5-6 AND 7-2 AND 1-6 AND WE STILL IN THE CELLAR ,,,,,,,,,

Just for the record, take today as a little microcosm. I've been posting about football.

ODIN PLEASE GO TO OHIO'S BLOG AND DESTROY THST ONE TOO.

WHEN THE REAL ODIN COMES TO OHIO'S BLOG ,IT WILL AN HONOR ......

I've been saying for months that we have to draft a 1st RD franchise QB in this draft. We MUST get off this crazy free agent QB merry-go-round we've been on for the last decade.

Ryan Tannehill has been rising up draft boards lately, and there's speculation he might go as high as #3, right after Luck and Griffin. We may not even get a chance to draft Tannehill at #8. Ireland is NOT trading up for him.

Well, I've also been saying if not Tannehill, then we have to get Weeden. Besides his age, there's a LOT to like about Weeden. After reading a very in-depth article about him, I'm beginning to think Weeden may be the BEST option of all.

Check it out-
