Wannstedt: Junior passing 'tragic'

Dave Wannstedt was the head coach of the Dolphins who traded for Junior Seau. Now the defensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills, Wannstedt just released a statement on the passing of the former NFL linebacker:

“Hearing this news about Junior...it’s just so tragic…it’s hard to believe. I still to this day remember the day that Junior joined our family at the Dolphins. He brought a sense of renewed energy and a spirit to the field, off the field, in the weight room, just everywhere that Junior went and everyone that Junior was associated with. He instilled a belief that we hadn’t reached our potential and that we could be better and he would find a way to help make that happen.

"I just feel terrible but I know how much he loved his kids. I remember him coming to me and the first thing we talked about was what the offseason schedule would be and what was going to be our bye week schedule. Everything he was doing was centered around getting back to San Diego from Miami to be able to spend quality time with his kids. I don’t think there’s a better way a man could be remembered than in those terms.”

YG, the constitution was written by our "forefathers" who were adament about individual rights. It's an indiduvaul right to own a firearm, and that should never be taken away from anyone. England got there a** handed to them by America in the Revolution War, so dont bring that point about England seems to be doing fine without guns.

I will not give up my pistol for anyone since its my RIGHT to protect me and my family.

Gee not even the fins got this much attention when they died.

BTW its not the firearm fault Seau decided to take his life, he made that decision..

More cluelessness from Clue. Was the sum total of your education reading bazooka comics? If you actually ever read a history book, you would know the French were a MAJOR assistance to us in winning that war. We didn't kick but like you think, we had help.

You have probably learned more today than in the last 30 years.

Nice response by Wannestadt. He was always a very nice man and a good Defensive Coordinator.

AndyNJ, AKA Solti, Are you still trolling me? SMH

Andy, A W is a W. I call a spade a spade, if America beat Engladn, then England got there a** handed to them. Fukkin Wankers..

Incredibly stupid comment! Clue you should be embarrassed.

He killed himself so he must not of loved his kids all that much. Suicide is the cowards way out, step up and deal with your problems. Didn't anyone around him see some warning signs, like when he tried to kill himself by driving his car off a cliff??

WTF are there a bunch of pu**ies in here today or immigrants which one? America won in the Revolution war against England so whats stupid about the comment?

True, the french were a MAJOR part of our independence. However, I do read history and the US saved their A**.....Twice but, whos counting??

Why do you hate the British? What is your problem? Why so filled with hate? You sound like a typical dumb American white supremist...and dumber than a rock.

America did not win the Revolutionary war all by themselves they had help from France and without that help would not of won. Plus America defeated the British because similar to the US in Vietnam they got tired of the cost and the fight to keep us. Please people (especially the gun nuts) read a history book once in a while. Also the constitution says that you have the right to bear arms in a militia form.

Clue, I think you should change your name to IdiotHead. Just a suggestion.

You have to be macho-challenged to own a gun.

Rick, yea lets so how mach you are when a guy breakes in your house ties you up and rapes your wife in front of you, I bet you want a gun then huh? Puss

Wow, now that was the most intelligent thing you have said to date. Very impressive. What else did you learn from watching the Simpsons reruns?

Most so-called good guys with guns, and the bad guys too, are just cowards who are afraid to learn to fight. Probably at least 80% of all gun owners, good and bad, are puss cowards afraid to fight.

It's not about learning to fight or not duck, how can you fight a man who breaks in your whole holding a machete or a gun himself. Funny how your talking about fighting when you'll be the first to get your a** handed to you lol

to all of you stupid morons, that criticize his decision to end his life and call him a coward, or not a loving father, my deepest fu-k you!.

you cannot judge his decision because you don't know what was he feeling, it's so easy to blame when you are not in each head's reality.

With all the celebrity/athletes who have passed, the passing of Junior Seau is probably the first to really rip at my heart and bring tears to my eyes. He was a true legend on and off the field. May God help his family, friends, and us fans thru this time.

Wannstache was the last Dolphin coach to win a playoff game, remember that before you bash him.

I'm pretty bummed by Junior off'ing himself. To those self righteous farks out there, mental illness is not a joke. I've lost friends to suicide. This is not a time to be judgmental or get political. This is a time to support the Dolphins and NFL family.

It was very tragic. Nobody deserves to die of suiside

R.I.P You were a great player Junior and when you got on the field you made them "SAY OW". You will be missed.

In about 5 years we will be reading this same article about Brandon Marshall. He has already attempted suicide once and once the money dries up he will only get crazier. You can not fix crazy. So in 5 years I do not want to hear about how great of a person he was, blah, blah blah. If his family cares about him so much the warning signs are there, just like they were with Seau (he tried to kill himself by driving off a cliff once already). So when Marshall finally does kill himself I do not want to see his ex (will be ex by then) and his mama out there crying saying they had no idea because could of gotten him help in time.

I agree that the most important thing in life (perhaps the only important thing) is being there for your children.
