Any questions?
The Dolphins announced this morning that Chad Ochocinco will wear No. 85, which had been worn by rookie Rishard Matthews previously this spring. I don't know if there was any money, goods or services exchanged, but I think you kind of get buffalo'ed out of your number when you're a seventh-round pick who hasn't made an NFL roster yet.
The Dolphins also signed fullback Ryan Mahaffey, roster filler for Indianapolis last season after they got him off Baltimore's practice squad. The franchise waived undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver Derek Moye. Save your money, guys.

1. What do Dolphins players think of being on "Hard Knocks?" “I wasn’t too thrilled to tell you the truth,” tight end Anthony Fasano said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. ”I think we were informed at a team meeting, and there were a lot of groans when it was announced"

So, the Dolphins held a free melanoma screening day
today at Sun Life but why dont they move into the new Marlins Park(domed) so their fans dont get melanoma from sitting in that hot sun?

If you cant make the dolphins roster, at least you can make the jets pitiful roster... Hell you can take a 6-10 coach that cant coach and doesn't know how to win a game too ..LOL

How can someone not see the positives about the dolphins ... 6-3 to close out the season. We beat the jets and made them not make the playoffs that was positive wasnt it? .. heck at least we are a better team than them .. we should at least be the second best team in the AFC east .. wild card team ... the Jets have gotten worse ..Tony Sparano knows how to lose games , we should beat them twice this year, the schedule is a cake walk .. we shouldn't have a problem making the playoffs this year.
Posted by: jeffrow | June 16, 2012 at 04:01 PM
Nothing positive about losing our best player off a 6-10 team. YIKES!

The only thing positive is we're gonna stink again.

Ross/Ireland/Philbin are the least respected FO in the NFL for good reason. None of them have done chit at their current jobs.

Here's a shoutout to Derek Moye, who Im surprised wasnt even drafted and had to be signed as a free agent off the street. Im in Penn State country and a fan, and Moye always found a way to get open for whoever his QB was. My understanding is that Moye, along with some of the other rookies in camp, was not exhibiting great hands. That was not a problem of his in college. I was psyched actually that the Dolphins gave him a look. Its a shame he couldnt hold on to a spot with the team. Good luck Derek!

Posted by: samfan50 | June 17, 2012 at 08:40 AM
Sure Sam, a guy with all that potential, couldn't be a #1 in Cleveland, couldn't be a #2 with the Jets and couldn't be a #3 in San Fran. How many more chances do you want to give the guy? And why US? At this point in his career (and where the team is) he's a bad fit. We need young guys that can develop with the system, and that's why I was against the Ochocinco signing as well.
Posted by: DC Dolfan | June 17, 2012 at 09:18 AM
Wanted to respond to inimounts yesterday. While I agree Moore won't ever get this team to where it needs to be (SB), I do think he's got SOME potential, and might be the best choice for this year. Starting Tannehill on a rebuild year to me is a waste. We're in no rush here (we haven't won a Playoff game in over a decade, so what's another year or 2. I don't want to GET to the Playoffs, I want to WIN Playoff games. That will take time). So there's Moore and Garrard. I think they should have an honest competition, and the best player should start.
But, secondly, I think you dismissed a lot of what Moore did last year. Sure, he went 6-6, but he went 6-3 down the stretch (and came in cold, in a Season he just got to the team, with no camp, etc.). So I give him a pass on at least 1-2 of those first games he lost. When he got in, he turned the offense into something I haven't seen in Miami in a long time (exciting at times). He took chances, had big plays, and was aggressive. And this was in a SPARANO offense, which does NONE OF THOSE THINGS. I blame Sparano much more than Moore as far as the offense's woes. Also, you said the oline was good (helped Bush have his best year of his career). Dude, absolutely 100% WRONG way to view things. Check the stats, that was one of the worst olines in the league. They were like 4 or 5 in giving up sacks (and pressures). Moore was running for his life. Bush had his best year because he came to a RUNNING team, from a PASSING team. Are you kidding me, why run with Bush when you have Brees and all those Saints weapons?
And that's the rub. Moore really hasn't been given much of a chance in the NFL to date (besides last year). No team loved him enough to really groom him. Really, THIS will probably be his best chance of his career. That might motivate the guy to make the most of it. I don't think he can get MUCH better, but I've been wrong about him before. Maybe he can, in a more aggressive offense (if he can be more accurate in his throws). Also, I don't think we need to see Tannehill this year to grab a QB next year if we're in position to get a potential great one. Good teams take what comes to them. If we're that bad this year, and in position to get one of the top QBs next year, there's nothing saying we shoudln't do that. All it takes is the GM having balls, and understanding QB is the most important position in football, and that having 2 elite QBs on your team is a good problem to have.
So, to wrap up, I think Moore deserves a chance. And I hope he makes the most of it (otherwise, he'll be on a downward trajectory in his career).

All i am saying if if we are going to take a chance i would take a chance on Braylon not Chad , Braylon is closer to his best year ( 2007 16 touchdowns ) and having something to prove is more realistic to Edwards than Chad , chad's entertainment value is higher than his football abilities in my opinion I have been a fan since I was 8 I just want us to do good this year and ross and ireland are making our success optional
Posted by: samfan50 | June 17, 2012 at 10:10 AM
We should never have traded Marshall. Ireland thought he was getting suspended and panicked.
Posted by: Kevin | June 17, 2012 at 11:16 AM
There we agree sam, I'd rather have seen us sign Braylon than Chad.

It seems to me that Chad Ochocinco is the best available free agent wide receiver to beef up a not extraordinarily good receiving corps in Miami... so I dont like the alternative to sign Ochocinco, at the present time. Whether or not Moss should have been signed 4-5 months ago is really irrelevant at this point. Right now I just hope they will get Ryan Tannehill signed soon, so that he is ready for trainingcamp.

Philbin has already proved at the 1st rookie tryouts and practices he is NOTHING like Cameron. Totally different personality, with a complete different offensive mindset.
Posted by: Poizen | June 18, 2012 at 01:19 PM
Some fans are as excited about Philbin as they were about Cameron.
Posted by: odinseye | June 18, 2012 at 01:53 PM
Ok wait, let me think of some new way to trash the team. I'm just trying so hard to get somebody mad.
Posted by: Fake Name #1 | June 18, 2012 at 01:58 PM
Dont feed the kool aid homers.
Posted by: Home | June 18, 2012 at 02:03 PM
Why wouldn't peopel be excited, we wanted an offensive exciting team, that is what you think a o-coord would bring. Cameron however came from a very bland offensive philosophy, philbin is coming from the record setting GB offense. And they had no running back... So the only comparison of Cameron and Philbin is they were both o-coords, that is about the only similarity you can make.
Posted by: Poizen | June 18, 2012 at 02:04 PM
Not getting Fisher was a disasterous blow to the franchise. Settling for a 4th novice NFL HC in a row is very depressing to Fin fans.
Posted by: odinseye | June 18, 2012 at 02:16 PM
Odin, that is true, but that does not mean we are doomed with Philbin. All good head coaches we know today were once a O or D coordinator at one time. Keep that in mind.
Posted by: Poizen | June 18, 2012 at 02:23 PM
I am not sure we can say disasterous blow, it is not like we are going from contender to pretender because we did not get Fisher. It just means we still have uncertainty. things can still work out though... We are in wait and see mode on Philbin.
Posted by: Poizen | June 18, 2012 at 02:24 PM
