You know Ryan Tannehill will start at quarterback tonight. You know we have a live blog starting at the 8:07 kickoff. Do you know the inactives? Do you know Tannehill is not the only significant rookie starting his first game for Miami?
Let's get caught up:
Cameron Wake (back), Karlos Dansby (knee), Kevin Burnett (back), Eric Steinbach (knee), David Garrard (knee), Tony McDaniel (leg), Jonas Gray (knee), Brian Hartline (calf), and Kelcie McCray (foot) are out.
Rookie Olivier Vernon starts for Wake. Gary Guyton and Jason Trusnik start for Dansby and Burnett.
Interestingly, Artis Hicks is scheduled to play. He missed a couple of days of practice with an unknown injury. So much for the much expected competition between him and Steinbach.

D be stinkin though...
What up SM..

This is what is known as the cottage cheese defense.
Posted by: kwazy | August 17, 2012 at 09:11 PM
The amount of trolls on here is incredible. RT a bust after a quarter in a pre-season game in his rookie season??? lol A lot of bored Jets fans on here tonight.
Posted by: Flipper from Down Under | August 17, 2012 at 09:11 PM
the panthers still had their 1st string defense in. man it's not worth coming on here with all the haters.
Posted by: jaison | August 17, 2012 at 09:11 PM
Clemons is TERRIBlE. Should change his name from Chris to Charmen. Dudes soft
Posted by: Jon | August 17, 2012 at 09:11 PM
Mike Nolan sorry they just called out Nolan Carrol.
Posted by: Dolph | August 17, 2012 at 09:11 PM

Posted by: jaison | August 17, 2012 at 09:11 PM
Im watching the panther feed and their 2nd string was in on dolphins score....nothin to hate about that!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | August 17, 2012 at 09:12 PM
Hard Knockers should be fun to watch this week. RB and OL coaches need to tweak for sure.
Posted by: Spillmar | August 17, 2012 at 09:14 PM
Is it just me or does T-Hill remind you of John Beck?
Posted by: Mike | August 17, 2012 at 09:14 PM
Our DB's are being toasted... We need to find a Veteran Safety
Posted by: CA_DolFan | August 17, 2012 at 09:14 PM
Strange that Vontae Davis is not getting action. Not like he's shown he's ready for the season.
Meanwhile, Marshall and Smith are playing.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 17, 2012 at 09:15 PM
Wow, good thing the panthers had those penalties and yet they still might get first down...This is becoming sad!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | August 17, 2012 at 09:15 PM
still, tanny looked good considering he is a rookie. more would not have done any better. start tanny so we at least can start building the future... but the fish will suck this year
Posted by: dslong | August 17, 2012 at 09:16 PM
Davis might be in the doghouse after losing his cool with Smith.
Posted by: spideyman | August 17, 2012 at 09:16 PM
seriously I'll take long odds on miami holding them from scoring on this series!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | August 17, 2012 at 09:16 PM
Huge Play or Lucky Ply?
Posted by: tony in miami | August 17, 2012 at 09:16 PM
Lmao Clemons gets ran over, dude fumbles the ball on his head, and he celebrates. Classic!
Posted by: Jon | August 17, 2012 at 09:17 PM
Sieve defense and O line that can't open up holes = long season
Posted by: 72perfectstill | August 17, 2012 at 09:17 PM
The Fins are Still a "Work in Progress" ;)
Posted by: TubeSalvation | August 17, 2012 at 09:17 PM
You know, getting that fumble is like scoring with the ugly chick at the prom.
Posted by: zaphod | August 17, 2012 at 09:17 PM
RT passes are quick and generally on the mark. He is a gun slinger and is going to mistakes. Coaches need to add more roll outs and slants. I am very positive because I know changes are being made and in the long term.
Go Clemons; "excuse me Tolbert, are you done with that ball, okay, I'll take it." ha ha where are the haters?
Posted by: Spillmar | August 17, 2012 at 09:17 PM
Could the Dolphins win the arena league?
Posted by: GG | August 17, 2012 at 09:17 PM
Dolphins making wholesale changes on offense but Tannehill will continue in the game.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 17, 2012 at 09:18 PM
lucky play... the d looked stupid on that play
Posted by: dslong | August 17, 2012 at 09:18 PM

It's not Tannehill, there are SEVERAL things wrong and you blame Tannehill?
Posted by: Dolph | August 17, 2012 at 09:18 PM
Tannehill BLOWZ!!
Posted by: GG | August 17, 2012 at 09:19 PM
Caught a huge break. By tonight's observation we have easily the nfl's worst defense. Doesnt matter what qb they face nor position on depth chart.
Posted by: Yesterday's Gone | August 17, 2012 at 09:19 PM
still, tanny looked good considering he is a rookie. more would not have done any better. start tanny so we at least can start building the future... but the fish will suck this year

Charles Johnson beats rookie Jonathan Martin for a sack.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 17, 2012 at 09:19 PM
Jonathon Martin looking like another 2nd bust by Ireland
Posted by: 72perfectstill | August 17, 2012 at 09:19 PM
Dolphins need work, The secondary needs work just like every year!!!! Except for that last fumble recovery, they needed that, They have looked terrable all night, they can't cover anything!!
Posted by: Joezfins | August 17, 2012 at 09:19 PM
not impressed with the back up d, hope the starters get healthly
Posted by: dslong | August 17, 2012 at 09:19 PM
Jonathan Martin is a liability.
Posted by: Marc Anthony Can't Sing | August 17, 2012 at 09:20 PM
Man JM got abused on that position
Posted by: Jon | August 17, 2012 at 09:20 PM
Martin is a rookie. He'll get better. Get over it.
Posted by: Spillmar | August 17, 2012 at 09:20 PM
Olive Oil > Jonathan Marin
Posted by: kwazy | August 17, 2012 at 09:20 PM
Did Charles Johnson show up? Or did our I line and Martin just not.
Posted by: inimounts | August 17, 2012 at 09:20 PM
Tannehill is too tall for these
Posted by: inimounts | August 17, 2012 at 09:21 PM
Look, ease up on Tannehill, people. He's brand new. He's gonna screw up. He's supposed to screw up. That's what rookies do. What I want to see is whether he can keep his composure, not let mistakes get to him, or interrupt his flow.
What I have seen so far has been pretty good. He doesn't seem flustered, he's sticking with the game plan as much as possible, and he worked his way down the field for a score. That possession, after not starting well, is far more important to me than him executing well out of the gate and not scoring. We had that with Henne.
Also, keep in mind that several players are out tonight, including key defensive players Dansby and Burnett. So maintain a modicum of perspective when trashing the defense. Those injuries are allowing other players to get on the field and show what they've got - which is the whole point of pre-season games, is it not?
So take a breath, enjoy the game, watch for up and coming players, and try not to light the field on fire just because we're not performing as well. We're playing against teams who have established a core of guys, while we are rebuilding - not the same place, and we'll get there too. This will be a pretty good team - possibly a very good team, if Tannehill progresses well in Year 1...
Posted by: Declaneric | August 17, 2012 at 09:21 PM
Too much penetration by Panthers d-line.
Posted by: Sneerf | August 17, 2012 at 09:21 PM
Tannehill will be booed like Henne was.
Posted by: Jay | August 17, 2012 at 09:21 PM
Brandon Fields. Best Dolphin player: Sad
Posted by: 72perfectstill | August 17, 2012 at 09:21 PM
Our punting team is looking good. They're getting lots of action tonight.
Posted by: zaphod | August 17, 2012 at 09:21 PM
yep.. right side sucks!!!
Posted by: dslong | August 17, 2012 at 09:22 PM
Brandon Field will have a golden oppurtunity to make PRO BOWL this year...hes on pace to set record for miami punts this year!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | August 17, 2012 at 09:22 PM
MVP this year, our punter.
Posted by: Dolph | August 17, 2012 at 09:22 PM
We have the WORST offense and the WORST defense. LMAO!!
Posted by: Mike | August 17, 2012 at 09:22 PM
RT has to work a bit more on not telegraphing and adjusting to better passing lanes. He also is not seeing some wideopen receivers. This will come with time. I really like the fast pace offense though.
Posted by: Spillmar | August 17, 2012 at 09:23 PM
Armando provides us with what i think is not only an awesome insight into what's going on with our favorite team wih his inside access, but the objective view point that we all really need even if we don't want it.
Posted by: Ron In Vegas | August 17, 2012 at 09:23 PM
Hey, no INTs...that's something.
Posted by: navydolfaninva | August 17, 2012 at 09:23 PM
Tannehill and Long the only bright spots in this game.
Posted by: kwazy | August 17, 2012 at 09:23 PM
The OLine is getting dominated. This has caused tremendous pressure on Tanny and the run game to disappear. The Fins also have no explosive weapons in their groups of WRs and TEs. The Defense...no pass rush, poor tackling, poor pursuit of the ball. No aggression.
Posted by: DLT | August 17, 2012 at 09:23 PM
Biggest concern is this new D-scheme and the anemic secondary. Offense will be fine, plenty of bright minds on that side of the ball. Defense? We'll see
