Minutes before the start of what promises to be the most meaningless game of the season:
Ryan Tannehill is going to start. He's going to start running, too, if he's smart.
That's because the starting offensive line will be a backup unit except for rookie Jonathan Martin at right tackle. The unit consists of Ray Feinga at LT, Chandler Burden at left guard, Ryan Cook at center, John Jerry at right guard and Martin at right tackle.
Crazy, right?
Daniel Thomas starts for Reggie Bush, who is not expected to play.
The injured scratches tonight are: Jake Long (right knee), David Garrard (knee), Nate Garner (head), Tony McDaniel (leg), Lydon Murtha (foot), Brian Hartline (calf), and defensive end Derrick Shelby (shoulder).
Middle linebacker Karlos Dansby is dressed but not expected to play. Austin Spitler starts in his place. Kevin Burnett is dressed but not expected to play. Gary Guyton starts in his place.
There's a live blog happening in the comments section. I'll be there for the kickoff. See you there.

lol wow that line is horrible

Posted by: Cuban Menace | August 29, 2012 at 07:35 PM
Rob,
From last blog, the thing about Miller was a knee injury he hasn't mentally come all the way back from while at the U IMO. You don't have his natural speed without it he just won't let go, sometimes happens as was the case with F.Gore at the U as well after 2 terrible knee wrecks back to back. Some guys take more time to trust it again and others don't
Posted by: fin4life | August 29, 2012 at 07:37 PM
everyone here got excited about miller, us miami u fans knew better though. guy sucked in college and will suck in nfl
Posted by: bill connors | August 29, 2012 at 07:41 PM

Philbin better stop worrying about curse words, trash on the ground and shoe laces. He needs to start worrying about our team being pushed around.
They already nick named Jonathan Martin the human windmill because all he does is get spun around.
Posted by: Jcb | August 29, 2012 at 07:56 PM
It will never be the bottom with Ireland as a talent evaluator. It will also have the potential to get even worse.

Hey, Sushi, eat Dashi.
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 08:04 PM
Just minutes? Dude when you posted this the game was 40 minutes away! I know that's minutes but that phrase is usually reserved for an event that is within 5 minutes of happening. Stop confusing us Mando!

Try Again
We all know ur Sushi
Posted by: Dashi | August 29, 2012 at 08:06 PM
I don't know about that. I saw Lamar a couple of times in You Tube and I knew then he would be a star in the NFL.

"Give him a chance. We needed a total make over. Has anyone watched the last several year. If this was green bays philosophy i'm all for it."
Not only is it the Green Bay way but it's text book Coughlin and the Giants. Two great teams. But our fans are way too impatient to build anything. 'Philbin hasn't won a preseason game yet, he must suck, fire him and lets start over'.
Got to love being a Miami fan. The funny thing is I am always less embarrassed by the team, it's the fans who make me shake my head. Did you see some of those people in the stands last week? Yikes!
Posted by: Phins78 | August 29, 2012 at 08:08 PM
I'm no sure what minutes mean to Armando either, 78.
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 08:09 PM

No.

oscar lol!
Posted by: Phins78 | August 29, 2012 at 08:10 PM
Actually, I only saw RT once on You Tube and I gathered immediately that he would be a very good QB in the NFL
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 08:11 PM
I don't know if it's crazy Armando. Eli Manning was playing in the second quarter with his backups. If it's okay for the super bowl champs and they aren't worried about Eli maybe we're just being overly dramatic here in Miami as usual?
Posted by: Phins78 | August 29, 2012 at 08:12 PM
Come on Armando, get pumped, the game is only seconds away!
Posted by: Phins78 | August 29, 2012 at 08:12 PM
Is it Time, Armando? You let us know, ya hear?
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 08:13 PM
Armando stop complaining. You probably got an all expenses paid trip to Dallas and are eating well right now! Perspective man!
Posted by: Phins78 | August 29, 2012 at 08:14 PM
Oscar, He's Our people, He'll show up 10 minutes after Kick-Off.......

bobbyd12,
Your still a SAD broken soul. It must really suck to be YOU.
Posted by: phil | August 29, 2012 at 08:17 PM
Watch Miller in college. Yes he has speed, but he doesnt have explosivemess. To be a great rb from the line of scrimmage in the nfl, a rb needs explosivemess.
Speed alone is useles unless you can get into the open field. That first requires getting past the line of scrimmage. Remember John Avery?
Avery was fast as all out doors but didnt have the explosiveness to get thru the line of scrimmage. Miller reminds me of a little bigger version of John Avery.

Mando, glad 2 c your posting in the correct blog and not the blog about Cooley being available
Posted by: robbyhernz | August 29, 2012 at 08:18 PM
Dolphins owner Steve Ross will not be here tonight. But he will be at this venue Sept. 1 for Michigan vs. Alabama. He is a Michigan man.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 29, 2012 at 08:21 PM
I'm not sure, 78, their OL backups and ours are not exactly of the same kind.
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 08:21 PM
Thanks Robby. Got my bearings righ tonight. I guess I'm ready for the regular season.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 29, 2012 at 08:25 PM
If Ireland's worth his weight in a sack full of feathers, he would have Chris Cooley in the helicopter right now. Heck he ought to be on his knees sampling Cooley's manhood.

What's the web site for those of us not in the Miami area?
Posted by: Chris in the 623 | August 29, 2012 at 08:26 PM
Mando,
Starting Tanne tonight is another bad idea coming from Philbin and Ireland.
Dallas has players still trying to make the roster. They are going to be playing at 200% trying to kill Tannehill and make the Dallas roster.
Why trust Ireland NOW?!?!?!??!
Posted by: JackSparrow | August 29, 2012 at 08:26 PM
Chris, im on firstrowsports.eu
Posted by: 46andtwo | August 29, 2012 at 08:28 PM
T-Hill needs all the reps he can get. Miller was solid on bad teams. It is way to early to run our team down. I live near indy and actually hear tons smack when we lose. I think we are finally headed in right direction. Winning and attitude are contagious, so those of you bagging on everything and every player. Can only hurt the team psyche
Posted by: ibis-1 | August 29, 2012 at 08:28 PM
We'll see a lot of Chris Hogan (7-11) tonight. Let's see if he can make a mark.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 29, 2012 at 08:29 PM
Thanks 46.
Posted by: Chris in the 623 | August 29, 2012 at 08:30 PM
Now, Armando.
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 08:30 PM
Playing Tanne should depend on Dallas playing thier 1st team D. You wanna give Tanne as many looks as possible of a 1st team D before the season opener.
If Dallas plays thier 1st team only 1 possession, then you play Tanne only one possession. If Dallas decides not to play thier 1st team D at all, then you dont play Tanne at all.
If Tanne were a 2yrs vet or more, then without a dobt you dont play him in this last preseason game at all. But for now, Tanne needs as many looks at a 1st team D as possible before the opening game. Remember, he's only had 25 college starts, which creates the need even more.
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | August 29, 2012 at 08:32 PM
Why does Tanne need all the reps he can get? I thought he knew 90% of the playbook already. What more does he need to work on?
