Minutes before the start of what promises to be the most meaningless game of the season:
Ryan Tannehill is going to start. He's going to start running, too, if he's smart.
That's because the starting offensive line will be a backup unit except for rookie Jonathan Martin at right tackle. The unit consists of Ray Feinga at LT, Chandler Burden at left guard, Ryan Cook at center, John Jerry at right guard and Martin at right tackle.
Crazy, right?
Daniel Thomas starts for Reggie Bush, who is not expected to play.
The injured scratches tonight are: Jake Long (right knee), David Garrard (knee), Nate Garner (head), Tony McDaniel (leg), Lydon Murtha (foot), Brian Hartline (calf), and defensive end Derrick Shelby (shoulder).
Middle linebacker Karlos Dansby is dressed but not expected to play. Austin Spitler starts in his place. Kevin Burnett is dressed but not expected to play. Gary Guyton starts in his place.
There's a live blog happening in the comments section. I'll be there for the kickoff. See you there.

Mando--fact man here.....Thomas, 3.5 yards/carry on average.....fact.
Posted by: BPA | August 29, 2012 at 09:14 PM
Mando, YG is a piece of garbage, it's true, but aren't you digging yourself in a bit too deep here?
Do you really think Thomas is now showing great promise and looking like a 1,000 yard rusher this year???
Posted by: Fasucko | August 29, 2012 at 09:14 PM
The team caught more balls nder Sparano because hepromised free CHucky Cheese pizza after the games. The kids were elated!
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | August 29, 2012 at 09:15 PM
Br, these guys aren't qualified. There were two easy missed calls in this half quarter alone. The NFL is a joke in this instance.
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | August 29, 2012 at 09:15 PM
we need the regular refs to come back
Posted by: originalorangecrush | August 29, 2012 at 09:15 PM
Good point Stuart. Its bitter sweet. Tannehill looks great, but it will only keep ireland around
Posted by: 46andtwo | August 29, 2012 at 09:15 PM
Hows that Pass Interference, But the Fade to Noono was not?
Posted by: Dashi | August 29, 2012 at 09:16 PM
yeah that was clear pass interference. refs are a joke. should have been 1st and goal. we'd have gotten a TD in 4 plays from the 1/2 line.
NFL better get these refs in gear for the real season.
BS
Smith's INT last week now this.
Fasano's drop.
Tanne with 4 TD drives this preseason
Posted by: Fasucko | August 29, 2012 at 09:16 PM
Ryan Tannehill done for the night. Finished 6 of 8 for 41 yards. 0 TD O INT. Receiver dropped a pass. And QB leaves uninjured.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 29, 2012 at 09:16 PM
And that wasn't pass interference. These refs suck. The corner has his head turned the whole way
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | August 29, 2012 at 09:16 PM
ahh, the make up PI call... opps that worked against the blowfish.... telling you crappy O, Joe Cameron as coach and scab refs =1-15
Posted by: dslong | August 29, 2012 at 09:17 PM
Jimmy Wilson should of stayed at corner
Posted by: jetkiller | August 29, 2012 at 09:17 PM
Fasucko,
Youre just like the preseason. Nothing you say really counts. Your whole life's been just one big losing scrimmage game.
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | August 29, 2012 at 09:18 PM
The following TDs are very similar in every respect except time in the NFL:
1. Peyton Manning
2. Ryan Tannehill
3. Ben Rothleisberger
4. Tom Brady
One of these QBs is very young and has many playoff wins ahead of him.
Write it down, brothers.
Posted by: Fasucko | August 29, 2012 at 09:18 PM
I mean QBs. freudian slip
Posted by: Fasucko | August 29, 2012 at 09:18 PM
Wilson might see some time at corner if needed.....
Posted by: BPA | August 29, 2012 at 09:19 PM
Well, they all have hot wives.
Posted by: Chris in the 623 | August 29, 2012 at 09:20 PM
Im with you Fasucko. Dont listen to YG. You can rub it in his face 2 years from now.
Posted by: 46andtwo | August 29, 2012 at 09:20 PM
My motives in what I write is I write what I see. Period. End of motives.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 29, 2012 at 09:20 PM
YG, you won't believe me, but I've had sex with more super hot women less than 120 pounds than you've lived years. Seriously.
But I agree with you that Mando is wrong on Thomas. Thomas is going going for 1400 total yards this year barring injury.

Can I call my grandmother?
Posted by: jv | August 29, 2012 at 09:20 PM
Tannehill looked great.
Lets forfeit this game and get to work on trading for a WR!

Armando, you forgot money............
Posted by: 46andtwo | August 29, 2012 at 09:21 PM
I guess, so far, its easily J Martin's best game. Have yet top hear his name once for anything.
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | August 29, 2012 at 09:21 PM
Much better job of converging on the ball by the D today.
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 09:22 PM
Only problem Fasucko is T-Sizzle is way Faster than the other 3.
Peyton and Tom are Cerebral.
Ben is just lucky. Fell to a great Team, Great D, Great Running Game, Good Wr's.
Posted by: Dashi | August 29, 2012 at 09:22 PM

Posted by: eddie from new england | August 29, 2012 at 09:23 PM
Less than 120 pounds.
I would get charged with Wo-Man Slaughter on a waif like that.
Maybe you should try a real woman?
Posted by: Coalition To Get Coalition Out Of The Closet | August 29, 2012 at 09:23 PM
These zebra's are awful. How many games are going to be decided by these assh$les blowing calls?
Posted by: Dolphin 77 | August 29, 2012 at 09:23 PM
Bottom line--I realize Philbin chewed Daniel Thomas out in last night's 'Hard Knocks' but in terms of his play he's the least of this team's problems. This team has serious issues at WR & our secondary was terrible before Vontae got traded.
Posted by: We Have RB's | August 29, 2012 at 09:23 PM
Too bad J. Martin can't play against 2 and 3rd defenses during regular season
Posted by: 72perfectstill | August 29, 2012 at 09:24 PM
I don't know if you guys heard, but apparently the rumor is NFL is telling teeams to expect replacement refs for regular season's start.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 29, 2012 at 09:24 PM
I have been a fan from the start...I even have a Dolphin tatto on my left arm. They have hit an all time low. They used to be getting better- now they are at the bottom. Channel 4 did the right thing by blacking out tonights game!!! Who wants to watch tiis team. This is the first of many. When will these oweners get thier heads out of thier butts??? They aught to have an over/under on the empty seats. Dolphins GOOD-BYE!!!
Posted by: Charlie Brown | August 29, 2012 at 09:24 PM
"Can I call my grandmother?"
LMFAO@JV! Now that's funny!
Posted by: We Have RB's | August 29, 2012 at 09:25 PM
Fasucko - You are giving Tannehill hall of fame status already...leave it rest buddy. Yes I do think he may be decent and hopefully great in the NFL. He just went against a second and third team defensive players, yet did not get the team in the endzone. Do not blame it on the refs bad call or bad team around him. The team is what it is and he has not got them in the endzone, a little disappointing if you ask me (no matter how good he may of looked against backups).
Posted by: Indiana Dolfan | August 29, 2012 at 09:25 PM
Replacement refs remind me of the ugly women I cheated on my girl with :-/
Posted by: jetkiller | August 29, 2012 at 09:26 PM
RT has been noted as being quite cerebral himself.
Posted by: BaskinRobins | August 29, 2012 at 09:26 PM
You were right, YG. Look at Nolan Carroll!.
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 09:26 PM
You can see Jimmy Wilson has gotten stronger.
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 09:27 PM
Armando,
Maybe you should tell us what you meant by "Simply Diappointing". Perhaps you meant one thing, but it came accross to your audience as another.
By simply disappoiniting were you weighing heavily on his play? Because a "young player" being late a couple times and then being reprimanded by his hc, doesnt quite rate "simply disappointing".
There's nothing to suggest he's been "simply disappointing in his preseason play either. Has he just been "simply disappointing in Practice?
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | August 29, 2012 at 09:28 PM
Fasucko - No way Thomas goes for 1400 yards as a backup RB...get real dude!!
Also, you are praising your sexual exerience with girls under 120 lbs. That don't sound good, I would be sure to use age, not pound! Get a life!
Posted by: Indiana Dolfan | August 29, 2012 at 09:28 PM

Charlie,
You have a Dolphin tattoo on your left arm??? Why???
Posted by: We Have RB's | August 29, 2012 at 09:28 PM
Nat Moore such a shill for management
Posted by: 72perfectstill | August 29, 2012 at 09:29 PM
I believe the fact Jonathan Martin didn't start the game at LT is good news for the Dolphins because it signals they think Jake Long will be ready for the start of the season so they don't need to have a great plan right now for LT.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 29, 2012 at 09:30 PM
You gotta get rid of the ball. god-amitt!
Posted by: oscar canosa | August 29, 2012 at 09:30 PM
Oscar,
Told you Carroll looks like he finally gets it.
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | August 29, 2012 at 09:30 PM
Agreed.
To Dashi the List of Rookie QB's goes
1.Luck
2.T-hill
3.Wilson
4.RG3
5. Foles
6. Weeden
Like Dashi has said before When 2 qb's get drafted 1 and 2 overall. The #2 Is Usually a Bust.
With that said Weeden and RG3 come from a Spread System while the other 4 come from a Pro-Style System. Spread Qb's usually suck in the NFL
Posted by: Dashi | August 29, 2012 at 09:30 PM
INT for a TD...way to go Moore
Posted by: Indiana Dolfan | August 29, 2012 at 09:31 PM
And Moore throws a tuchdown!!!!! ... to a Cowboy...
Posted by: WIDolfan | August 29, 2012 at 09:31 PM
Nicely done by Moore and the team: two sacks and an interception returned to TD. Great ! What a season to come, my god !!
Posted by: marchcool | August 29, 2012 at 09:31 PM
Devlin!! DEVLIN!!!!
Posted by: Dashi | August 29, 2012 at 09:31 PM
Oscar her got rid of it and looked what happened
Posted by: jetkiller | August 29, 2012 at 09:32 PM
I guess Irelands defensive acorns are still a little green. Might want to let them ripen a little before he picks them.
Posted by: JackSparrow | August 29, 2012 at 09:32 PM
Matyt Moore had better be very careful tonight. Any more plays like that pick 6 and it will be him, not Garrard, that ends up with walking papers Monday morning.
Given a choice anyway, I would keep Garrard over Moore. Garrard clearly outplayed Moore when he was healthy.
Posted by: Yesterday'sGone | August 29, 2012 at 09:32 PM
Why isn't Lamar miller playing.
Posted by: (null) | August 29, 2012 at 09:32 PM
Do we Still want Moore as Our QB?
Dashi doesn't even want him as a Backup.
Bring Devlin Out
Posted by: Dashi | August 29, 2012 at 09:33 PM
Cmon Moore.... On another note I think 10 Tannehill will run more bootlegs in the regular season near the end zone . They are keeping it vanilla
Posted by: Catch22 | August 29, 2012 at 09:33 PM
Hey Armando, you heard what J. Johnson said about T. Romo?..He said he is a good QB and he will win a Super Bowl. Now my question is… Fantasy Football celebrates a Super Bowl? Or he was drunk went he says that?
Posted by: tony in miami | August 29, 2012 at 09:33 PM
Matt Moore looks very mediocre this preseason. That pick six was horrible.
