« Hits keep coming: Gates, Thigpen, Feinga also out tonight | Main | Tannehill outplays Moore, deserves chance to start »

Live blog of Dolphins preseason Game 1

It is the Miami Dolphins versus Tampa Bay.

No David Garrard (check the previous entries). No Clyde Gates or Brian Hartline, either.

So what to expect?

Vontae Davis is not starting despite the insistence of some in the media that he has not been demoted -- at least temporarily.

Matt Moore will start and is expected to get 15 plays or so. I expect Ryan Tannehill will follow and actually get work with the starters. This is a competition he's legitimately in, folks. He has a chance to win the starting job if he's better than Moore because Garrard has been all but  eliminated from the quarterback competition.

Interesting only to me: This Garrard injury raises questions. what the heck is the deal when a guy who has "loose bodies" on his knee, as the quarterback told Fox's Jay Glazer, is able to practice for three weeks with no issues?

And if he had those issues, how did he pass the team's physical?

I smell something here. And it ain't roses.

Anyway, live blog tonight. Meet me in the comments section.

Unless Tannehill can give some life to this offense, say hello to 2013 1st overall draft pick.

Play em all half..

Richard Marshall is still out there with the ones.

They need a new domed stadium

Agree Joe.

This team is just horrible

Vontae is in the dog house. He'll start game 1. This is just 2nd grade level discipline.

Stadium needs a roof! So far TB has been more impressive.

Great to watch ball again. Go Fins!

this hurry up offense will doom its defense if they dont put up points every other drive...Philbins philosophy is sound....just not with this team!!!

We just appear to be late to the party. Waiting for stuff to happen, not attacking.

wheres the D?

Vontae Davis needs to wake up!

Now you see why vontae is not starting.

Our D looks awful, slow, confused.

WOW we stink!

A nobody QB is torching our 1st team D, what a joke.

Nice coverage..

Sorry but this defense SUCKS!

LMAO...WAY TO GO GET THAT BALL!!!

Same sucky defense. No pass rush, no pass coverage.

Their backups are going thru our starters like a knife thru butter

Wilson should have eithe had and int or blown up underwood. He did neither!!

Pretty bad

Dolphins secondary is getting toasted by a backup QB.

Did I mention that our biggest concern was. WR LB secondary??? WR no big play ability. Too many drops!! LB can't cover the TE. Secondary can't cover!! Looks like the same team to me!!

We need to get back to BALL control...that way we dont get blown out 62-7 in every game...seriously!!!

This is pathetic

Can somebody please come on here and MAKE the case for TRADING Moore again.....

Please don't summon the idiots! It's bad enough we have to read them! Trade or cut a healthy, young Qb on the uptick to keep a broken down 34 year old average qb who hasn't played in 2 years.

Theres a reason Miami fans are seen as the dumbest in the NFL.

I can see where our offense is holding back the "good stuff", but the defense seems to be clueless. I would have thought having REAL position coaches coaching their specialty, rather than what we had last year would improve things.

Philbins gonna regret taking this job

Kevin Coyle, not Larry, I believe.

Honestly guys, this is the first pre-season game. Could we hold off on the screams of panic?

din'tI see this last Year

Koa Missi with a very solid game in the 1st. Quarter

This team is more pathetic then we thought they were

I'll make the case to trade Moore. Do you want to be 7 and 9 or 4 and 12?

Get Tannehill as much experience as possible and get a higher draft pick at the same time. Win win situation.

Bad technique by the D for the second touchdown. Still, better now than in a real game.

Spooky seeing Schiano on an NFL sideline. Liked it better when he was on UM's.

why hold tanny back for the season already, this is already looking bleak....let him play!!!

Rishard Matthews with a 46 yard kickoff return. Marcus Thigpen kicking himself.

that'll earn him a spot...Maybe!!!

Season's over. Next thing to look forward to is the 2013 NFL Draft. I'm only 1/2 joking...

Should make for an interesting hard knocks episode......

That secondary is running a practice speeds. Nice kickoff return. Ok, enough of Moore, reminds me too much of last year. Let's see Tannehill.

The starters are done on offense for Miami -- except for Matt Moore.

Dolphins report DT Tony McDaniel has a knee injury and his return is questionable.

I believe it safe to say that from the looks of it Tannehill will see playing time late this season at some point. If you watch and see you'll notice a mediocre D getting pushed around in a new scheme who seem to miss the 1st tackle consistently. I know it's week 1 of Pre-Season play but it looks alot like last Yrs. Pre-Kick off in Atl. which sort of set a lethargic tone.

This is how the defense started off last year. So I guess we will have to wait half the season before they get it.....

Moore has a wimpy arm.

Par for the course

Philbins offense is nonexistent

Well done, Matt Moore. Getting your quota of interceptions filled early.

Matt Moore not making the best of his opportunity here.

What have we learned from our uptempo offense Armando????

IT CANT WORK IN SOUTH FLORIDA!!!

The fins should change their team colors to brown and yellow.

F'n CBS, 1st miss the Nenee catch while @ commercial. Then loses input signal during INT.

Boring game. I'm out

What we are learning, superPHIN, is that the first pre-season game is about looking over the second and third stringers and that ours are losing to theirs.

What happenned on the int. I don't have a feed...
Bad pass by Moore, or was it a bad/wrong route by Clay.

Nick....our first string gave up a TD too...just sayin!!!
